So after looking at the small shack of a pizza joint for months, we decided to give it a shot. We bought a margarita pizza and a pepperoni. Let first say that the margarita pizza was by far the worst, bland, tasteless pizza we have had in years. This is no exaggeration. There was no taste to speak of. The crust was decent, but nothing better than Riva or anywhere else in Scituate. The pepperoni pizza had only the mild taste of pepperoni and thats it. both pies had little to no sauce and run of the mill cheese. Eating there has made us appreciate Marias and Riva that much more. I will say the pizzas looked really good, but thats were it ended. My dogs enjoyed all the extra pizza they got for the next few days. read more

Where do I begin...this is by far the best pizza I've had on the south shore. I live in Abington and pick up here at least once a week (WORTH IT). Speaking of living in Abington, you can order your pizza half cooked and uncut so you can bring it home and finish cooking it in your own oven. Every kind that I've tried does not disappoint. Not to mention the ingredients are SO fresh. If you haven't tried the lobster pizza, it's a MUST. Takeout on a Friday night. A bunch of us were sitting by the fire pit, hankering for sustenance, so we ordered pizza to go, which is the business of CP's. It's a given that when people order pizza, especially to-go, they don't expect to need utensils. But of the three pizzas that came to the house, one was inedible. First, the pizza wasn't cut all the way through. Think about it: You're outside with friends by the fire pit and you reach into the box to grab a slice. How many attempts do you make before you figure out that it's not you being clumsy? A few of us tried. We finally figured out that, despite score marks on the edges, the pizza wasn't cut. Not even close. So someone went back into the house to find a cutter. By that time, most of the topping had clumped so those of us who dared a slice were faced with eating gobs of cheese and stuff, and we discovered the reason the crust wasn't cut. It was tough as a car tire and just as black. The other two pizzas were fine. But does that matter? How did this burnt pizza get boxed? How did it get out the door to customers? Someone at CJ's was close enough to the pizza to do a crappy job of cutting it before sending it out. That same person should have noticed that it looked like a Michelin. It's pretty simple: Check the pizza as it goes into the box. If it's black, don't send it out. If it's not black, cut it all the way through. Two stars: one for each of the edible pizzas. *In the food industry, you never know who is at the table. Well, you might think you know, but as soon as you take the customer for granted or deliver poor product "just this once," it'll be a Yelp junkie or the Michelin food guy, not the tire guy. read more

Nothing is better than a fresh from the oven CP's pizza! Our favorites are the lobster pizza (a seasonal special), sausage and mushroom. They are very generous with the toppings and the ingredients are always fresh. You also won't find better garlic knots around. To be honest though, we've never come across something we didn't like! Ordered 1 pizza on the phone for pickup. I was told it would be 30 minutes and I arrived 30 minutes later to pick up the pizza. It was not ready. It still wasn't ready 15 minutes later when I left outa of disgust. While waiting, someone called ordering a pizza and the cashier asked if he should say 45 min and the owner said 30 minutes. Just brought home my first pizza from CPs in Scituate and it was excellent. Great texture to crust. Thin crust with the best ingredients consisting of Marzano tomatoes, cheese and basil. Okay id like to say this first and for most, Im a huge sandwich person. I an always scouting for a good BLT, chicken and waffle, steak and cheese, and the list could go on forever. Few times do i find sandwiches that is unique on its own. But when i found out that CP's serves their pizzas as sandwiches too. My curiosity peaked greatly. The Roasted Red Pepper and Sausage pizza, one of my personal favorites from CP's. An average people get this pizza, its fairly popular and slightly underrated if you aren't a pepper person. Now as i said before CP's serves their pizzas as SandWiches. As i knew this was my destiny to try this sandwich i couldn't help but feel troubled. Like i was missing something. Could it be the pizza was missing an ingredient? No it couldn't be; the pizza was amazing. Yet i knew what all sandwiches need that is necessary for a truly great sandwich. It was sauce! Yes thats right, but sausages are slightly spicy, and red peppers hold some heat too. I knew that this sandwich would be perfect with buffalo sauce. I ordered my food, got my perfectly toasted 1/2 inch thick bread with a masterpiece of smoked mozzarella, sausages, roasted red peppers, and buffalo sauce. Every bite was better than the last. My friends were begging me to try it and i held with no regard for the hunger of others. I was truly a monster taken over by the magnificence of this sandwich. read more

I have very high standards when it comes to woodfired pizza, having recently moved from the Washington, DC area with a number of pizzerias earning D.O.C. status for Neopolitan pizza (i.e., certified as the real deal). D.O.C. or no D.O.C., Chris absolutely gets it right with tasty, chewy crust with the perfect wood-fired taste and a nice balance of ingredients ontop. The red pepper and proscuitto pizza is superb with its smoky mozzarella and zestiness. Make sure you call in your order well ahead of when you think you'll want to pick-up. There is a reason why you'll likely hear a 30 minute "time". Also, do invest in the 2-pizza insulated oven bag for $14.95 or so. Brilliant idea from Chris and you will be back many times and will appreciate very warm pizza upon returning home. read more
