My bf and I first learned about Chef Jeff Kraus in a show that we watched, Vegas Chef Prizefight. He talked about his crepe restaurant in Tempe so I knew we had to try it! Crepe Bar is really cute and artsy, there are art pieces hanging along the walls. It's also somewhat quirky so I definitely see his personality. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member. She handed us menus and said that we can get seated anywhere we liked. There were so many enticing things on the menu but ordered a few to share: - Burrito Adobo Crepe: At first, I thought this was going to be a cliche southwestern type crepe. Boy was I wrong. It was so good and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The crepe was so soft and light. The pork chorizo with the pepper cheesy eggs were spot on. I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. - Grand Prix: This was so unique. A coffee crepe with pork belly topped with a perfectly cooked sunny side up. The pork belly was tender but I wish it was more moist. This was good but we both agreed that the Burrito Adobe Crepe takes the win. - First Time: We HAD to try a dessert crepe. The brûlée banana and banana chips were wow. Definitely adds texture to the soft crepe which was filled with nutella. I must say, this is probably the best crepe restaurant I've ever been to. I've been to a handful of crepe restaurants in Houston and New Orleans. I'm very impressed and will be back! Crepe Bar is worth the hype. read more

I actually told my husband I didn't want to write a review because, although they were busy on a Sunday morning - we didn't have to wait to find a seat. What can I say about Crêpe Bar that hasn't been said before...Crêpe Bar is a hidden gem in Tempe? Nope, think that's been covered- plenty. That it's a hipster's paradise? Well, yes... but don't hate! That Crêpe Bar has an inventive and creative menu? Wonderful presentation? Think that's all been covered too- and for good reason! I called ahead and ordered the Papa K- ham, eggs, peppered cheese, and roasted mushrooms and subbed the mixed salad for the smashed potatoes; the grilled cheese- sourdough bread, smoked aioli, chili cheese, and crispy pork belly; and a Moroccan iced latte. The worker informed me it would be ready in 15 minutes. Perfect! Lo and behold I arrive 15 minutes later only to find that the order hadn't been started... and not by fluke, either. I think they make your "to go" order when you arrive. Which really defeats the purpose of "to go." At least they made my Moroccan iced latte and gave me granola as I waited! The Moroccan iced latte has been described by some as a diluted chai- which I can't speak to, but it is both sweet with juuust a kick of spice. A nice twist on your classic latte! My only gripe would be that it cost ~$6. I could go to Starbucks for that.. The granola is made in house and has Pepitas, apricots, and nuts. Pepitas is an interesting choice in granola.. The grilled cheese is FANTASTIC! I love the use of pork belly because it's like thick, juicy bacon- and who doesn't love bacon?! The bread was nice and thick and overall it's so much more than your basic grilled cheese! The Papa K I think would have been better eaten fresh as the cheese was no longer melty :,( I also was not a fan of the cheese skirt but again that probably would have been better fresh. The flavors were compatible and complimentary of each other. I enjoyed the smashed potatoes and its creamy sriracha like sauce! I have had the second time before and while yes, it sounds basic (Nutella, banana, strawberries) it's a winning combo! I might have to make a visit again soon because you can't go wrong! I don't live far from this place, so why has it taken me so long to check it out? Really cute atmosphere and fantastic crepes! I had the ham and egg crepe which was delicious. I do wish it had a bit of a sauce like a bechamel or hollandaise, but the crepe itself was really good. My friends had the Chevre eggs (not a crepe, friend raved about how delicious this was) and the Burrito Adobo crepe, which actually is rolled up like a burrito. Definitely will be back! read more

Try the oat milk delicious. MacKenzie is a delight to chat with and Im so impressed how she remembers so many of the "local regular's" orders. The entire staff is accommodating especially being a walk up order counter. The meals are brought to your table and table busser for dirty dishes. I am not usually a fan of savory crepes, but the Grand Prix that I got was absolutely delicious. My husband and I went with my brother and his fiancé, and there were absolutely no complaints from any of us. The location itself looks deceivingly plain and ordinary on the outside, but it definitely has a very cozy vibe on the inside. read more

Rounding up from 4.5. This place was surprisingly amazing. We came mid morning on a Saturday and it was packed. You order at a centralized location. The host was so accommodating and patient as my daughter wanted specialized orders. As we waited for our food they passed around small helpings of granola (which was life changing good). My daughter got a specialized crepe with strawberries and Nutella and salted caramel crème and it was amazing. I got avocado toast which was special for the presentation, including sea salt, pickles, and runny eggs. Iced coffee drinks were just ok. Hence the 4.5. Not sweet enough for us. Will be back. This establishment has been open for about 10 apparently. News to me and I live about a half mile away. My bad. I wanted to get a cup of coffee after running a nearby errand. I opted for the large coffee chain but hubby preferred we stop here, so I caved and I'm so ,so happy we did. It is so cute inside. Ya know when you walk into a place and it just feels right? This is the place. It has a very chill vibe with fun colors and nice seating options, even outdoors. I had the strawberries and lemon crepes and holy moly was my mouth happy! It my was it delicious. I love tart so this was just perfect. The berries were good and together they made my plate sing! Yummy yummy! We also had cappuccinos but truthfully it could have been a smidge hotter for me. I didn't take away stars for that. Next time I'll order it extra hot. I need to support these business in our community who do exceptional work. I enjoyed the latte, but I think it was way too small for the price. I finished the whole thing in four bites and I was still hungry afterwards, which I hate. But it seems to be a popular hipster spot so that explains not getting the most bang for your buck. Overall, cozy place to try, but I wouldn't go out of my way to check it out. read more

This place was fantastic. It is decorated with some art all over the place. The first thing you will notice is the line to order food. They provide a menu for you to look at it while you wait in line. I was craving sweet crepes at the time so I ordered coffee crepe + brown sugar and a cappuccino. They provide you with a number so they know where to deliver the food. They barista will shout out your name once your drink is ready so you can pick them up at the bar. While you wait for your food to get there you get some complimentary amazing sweet granola. Then out comes the beautiful plate of crepes. First of all so you know I love figs, it is extremely difficult to find them anywhere. This crepe I ordered had honey glazed figs, with a vanilla bean custard, and some roasted pepitas. I ordered the Grand Prix - a coffee infused crepe with crispy pork belly and an egg on top. The crepe was delicious, and the subtle coffee taste came through! I do think it could have came with more sauce, an acidic element (like a few drops of orange juice), or something else on the side such as a crispy form of a potato for texture. What a unique take on crepes! Got the grand prix which is a coffee infused crepe with pork belly and egg. There is maple syrup, and a spicy mayo chipotle type sauce surrounding it. Loved how the slight bitterness contrasted against the sweet maple syrup! The pork belly was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I would definitely come again and take a friend here to try it! For $11.25 I thought it was a good price point for what you get! Support local during COVID! Crepe Bar has been on my bucketlist since moving to AZ and the fact that restaurants are now only take out finally prompted me to visit. Even with all the chairs up and tables empty, the ambiance was very nostalgic of my years in Los Angeles - hip vibe with a unique branded feeling. Honestly, what brought me back was not only the food but the impression I got that they care about their customers. May have gotten carried away with talking with the lady at the front who takes your order haha, and may have said the word delicious too many times to count. So far I've tried their vanilla custard crepe, blintz, and granola (surprise freebie gift) and can't complain about any of the three. The crepe itself is soft with a little bit of stretch, custard and ricotta are made from scratch, and marinated strawberries and jam are the nexessary "cherries on top." However, what I was most surprised with was their granola. Holy moly, this stuff is addictive. It is much more substantial than their regular store bought granola, salty sweet, and like a universal topper to all their brekfast or sweet desserts. To be honest, I ciuld eat this with a bowl of whipped cream, ricotta, custard, or anything creamy dreamy. Can't wait to make a third visit! But finally decided to give it a try today. Really outstanding! Split the burrito crepe and the Papa K with a side of their potatoes and two bloodys. Everything was bursting with flavor, and was sufficiently filling. The potatoes in particular are amazing and come dressed in this yummy aioli. Come here over and over. Staff remembers us and the few times we had a longer than normal wait for our order, they would bring some granola to snack on. This is our favorite coffee beverage here. I've been wanting to come here for a while now and I'm glad I had the opportunity today. There was a long line to order the food, but it moved quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We settled on Grand Prix and Chilaquiles. Grand Prix had pork belly which had nice flavor and was not very fatty. It was melt in your mouth texture and it paired perfectly with over easy egg and the crepe wrapper. I can see this one being ordered along with a vegetarian crepe to round out the meal. The Chilaquiles was also nice flavor and it had tasty bean topping along with egg. It is served with tortilla chips rather than crepe wrapper. Good choice if you want something light and healthy. We also tried their sweet crepe, the Second Chance. It was very good, perfect texture and sweetness. Fresh bananas and strawberries were spot on. I also tried their Moroccan latte.
