Although these items did not taste spectacular, there's an admirable beauty with its satisfying texture and freshness. I arrived at Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) on Tuesday (around 9:15AM). This location requested 10 extra minutes to setup. After perusing its adjacent market, I returned. Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) was ready for business at 9:25AM. Staff is courteous and professional. Staff (name on receipt - Yaya) is helpful and hardworking. Yaya answered all my questions, and Yaya moved quickly. I ordered the King Steamed Meat Bao ($9.14 - 3pc) and 10 Won Bread ($5). The food was ready in 14 minutes and 54 seconds. The 10 Won Bread has three filling choices: mozzarella cheese, custard, or red bean. I selected the custard filling. The 10 Won Bread had a thin, crisp, and crunchy outer crust; its similar to a finely toasted waffle. Its inner layer is very soft and spongey. Breaking apart this toasted pastry, hot & gooey custard cream bursts forward. I enjoyed the sensation and mild-sweetness of this sticky, flowing liquid. The King Steamed Meat Bao also tasted freshly made. It avoids being dry; rather, its bun is supple, buoyant, and springy. Its filling tastes fresh and slightly savory. Its mashed meat and diced glass noodles add a pleasant bounce. Although the filling lacked any memorable taste, I appreciated how the filling wasn't salty. The King Steamed Meat Bao's filling reminded me of freshly mashed meatball. Regarding ambiance, it's nonexistent at Cr8zy Bao (West Covina). The location is a food stand in a market. Thankfully, its counters and floors are clean. Also, I felt safe since a security guard is stationed by the entrance. Fortunately, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor tables to use since it's connected to the Haven City Market. Bright, bubbly music appeared around 10AM; however, it was silent prior. Overall, Cr8zy Bao (West Covina) is a good experience. If you like baos and dumplings, this location is a solid choice. The lady at the counter that took my order didn't speak any English. When I got my hotteok order, there was only one but the menu says there are 4. When I asked she had only charge me for a single one which was fine but another worker had to come check the order for me and explain the mix up. Got the cold noodles, I liked that the ice added to the noodle was iced broth so it didn't water down the soup. There's no meat at all, just cucumber, radish and half an egg. The noodles were gummy and stuck together in a giant clump which made it hard to eat. For $17 with no meat and overly soft noodles, this was not worth it. The cheese coin was a total disappointment. It was mostly mochi like breading and very little cheese that didn't have any pull to it. Not sure what cheese they used but it's not anything like the ones in Korea. The hotteok was the biggest disappointment and I'm glad they messed up and only charged me for one. It came like the cheese coin which was my first inkling something is wrong. The inside was also mostly mochi chewy bread with a very thin layer of something that is only a little bit sweet. I encountered unpleasant customer service experience two days ago. It was a longer-than-informed waiting time. The staff told me 10 min and lingered to be longer due to servicing other 4 customers that was ordering after me. Nevertheless. This issue was taken seriously when I was voicing this incident to the owner. This accountable practice is refreshing ans appreciated. It gives idea that the food must be under strict quality check as well. When me and my son tried the ramen and corn dog, the taste and quality were satisfactory. Great taste for the price and secured to-go packaging. We were able to taste the spam musubi as well with other hockey players and they loved it. I saw this spot on IG and, being a huge bao lover, I knew I had to give it a try. ​The highlights were definitely the dumplings and buns. We ordered the mixed dumplings and the 6-piece King Steam Meat Bao--both were awesome. The dumplings had nice thin skin and were very flavorful, and the bao tasted great with plenty of meat and vegetable filling. We also tried the 10 Won bread with cheese and chocolate filling. It had that perfect mochi texture, and my wife and son loved it. ​The only downside was the spicy beef soup. It costs $20 and unfortunately, it was extremely bland. However, the service made up for it. The staff was friendly, and when I asked for a to-go soup cup (which usually costs 50 cents), the server gave it to us on the house. 1K review is for one of my favorite K food places It is one of the many food stalls in the Haven City Market building but closer to the GW grocery entrance. I love their steamed red bean and meat baos. The red bean bun was one of the best I have tasted. Their dumplings were good too. I couldn't wait till the weather cooled down, so I braved the hot summer and ordered the beef rib soup. It was the best and worst decision I made. The best because the beef was tender and the soup so flavorful. It was served steaming in a hot stone bowl. Thus the worst decision as I was sweating like crazy. Luckily I had my cordless fan to the rescue. The meal came with a bowl of rice, and banchan (mini side dishes). I'd definitely go back to try their cold noodle soup. Service was friendly. Super excited to have crazy bao opening up near home! It's located the entrance of the supermarket and toward the back of the haven city market. The place is mainly for take out as everything they have is either pre made or in take out containers. We got the meat and chive bun and red bean bun. The buns are good and they give you a lot of filling which is a plus! Service is a hit and miss. When we arrived there weren't anyone at the counter and it took a while for them to take our orders. Cr8zy bao sure has a unique store name that I just adore. It's located inside the GW supermarket rather than part of the Haven City Market. I have only tried the 10 won coin cheese filling bread and the pizza bao. I am giving them an extra star because of the uniqueness of these items. 1. 10 won coin bread with cheese filling (5/5) You can choose either cheese or custard. We opted for the cheese filling and it was super cheesy with a good cheese-pull. The outside was light, yet crispy and the inside is just a delicious, melty, gooey cheese. The cheese has a good cheesy flavor. 2. Pizza Bao (4.5/5) It doesn't really taste 100% like pizza, but it does have notes of margherita pizza flavoring mixed with the texture of the traditional beef bao. The bun itself was nice and fluffy. The filling was juicy, well-seasoned, and really close to the northern Chinese bao flavor. They're big too! three were more than enough to fill me up. Another new place opened in Haven City Marketplace inside GW. These are bao's with Korean/Chinese influence. Since it was new, I had to give it a try. I wanted to order the Cr8zy Spicy Dumplings but they said that was the one item on the menu they don't have yet. Ordered the Cheese Meat Bao (it was okay, just a bit of mozzarella cheese on top, with glass noodles mixed with meats inside). Since they didn't have their Cr8zy Spicy Dumplings, I tried their Spicy Shrimp Dumpling (it reminded me of the Chinese dimsum). As I was done ordering, I noticed the workers were cutting up pinwheel pastries. I didn't see them on the menu, but that's when I realized there was a separate menu for a bunch of different Korean soups. I got the red bean version of the won bread (they said there was also a mozzarella cheese version). It had a nice mochi texture with the red bean filling. Overall, the food was meh. The bun was fresh but the fillings of the dumplings/bao's were just okay. Located inside GW market. They had a soft opening and they were giving out a sample and we tried number 1 and their red bean bao. We ended up ordering the king steamed bao and red bean bao. My husband also tried their pizza bao it was okay, not a huge fan. The king steamed bao was filled with great flavors and i liked that i had noodles inside. Another restaurant in the Haven City of West Covina food hall. A great little restaurant with tasty food dishes of Korean cuisine. Location is not the best. Semi hidden, located at the far end of the food hall. The front of the business is actually located in the GW market. The place is really clean, employees were very nice and helpful, and the food was delicious. Don't let the price scare you, as some of their dishes is priced at $29, but the bowl of food is enough for 2 people, so that comes out to be around $15 per person, which is the average price for any restaurants at Haven City. My go to item is #11, Kalbi beef with glass noodle, served over rice. Sitting in a scorching hot stone bowl, which made the rice on the bottom get that crispy crust. Also comes with a side of Korean kimchi, and fish cake. This place is definitely in my top 5 favorite food stall of Haven City. read more

We were meeting some friends at Haven City, so we thought to stop by to check out all the restaurants. We ended up at Cr8zy Bao because it was a pretty cold day and we were craving some good ol' Korean comfort food. Cr8zy Bao fit the bill to a T (and of course, I also wanted to compare to the Diamond Bar location). Breakdown below: Ambiance (5/5): I mean...this location is awesome. It's right next to the market so I can grab my Chinese goods right before heading out, and I love that there's plenty of seating (some right next to the restaurant too for a quick chow down). This is a huge plus compared to the DB grab n' go location. Let's not forget all the places to walk around and hang/eat with people at the benches outside too; it's like a perfect and simple family or date night. Service (5/5): The ladies and young man at the front were kind and efficient. Food came out quick, and I'd like to give a major shout-out to the young man who helped pull back some gate thing between the market and restaurants to let me and my stroller through that day. Support these hardworking and nice human beings! Food (5/5): Compared to the DB location, this one had food that was just as good, granted we ordered soup dishes and a few sides to share. We started off with a bit of tteokbokki as an appetizer, and it was perfectly chewy with a nice kick to it. It just got better from there. We ordered the braised chicken and it was melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. I absolutely loved the thick sauce and how it coated the noodles, potatoes, and chicken; the dish seemed to taste better and stronger in flavor as we all sat there chatting and eating. My one year-old was eating everything really well, as was my two year old, so the non-spicy version of this chicken was a hit (I bet the spicy one is even tastier). The dumpling and rice cake soup was a nice addition to the braised chicken, as it helped clean the palate a little and of course, the dumplings were full of flavor and devoured by my son. My oldie favorite, the spicy shrimp dumplings, did not disappoint; we could have taken them home, but our party just ate it all on the spot. Next time, I'll have to try some of their desserts! What a cool little spot inside a grocery store. Friendly staff and the menu is nicely displayed. I went for the pizza bao because it was different and why not?! It was interesting and different but I definitely want to go back and try some of their other items. The price is reasonable, especially since the size of the bao is large. 2 would be quite filling. This place also has to-go items, already packaged and ready to go in case you are in a hurry, but I recommend placing your items first (since everything is made to order) and then do your shopping. I mainly came here mainly for the 10 won bread. I tried once at a street vendor and couldn't find an establishment until now. They offer cheese or red bean filling. One order is $5 and four is $18. I only got two and got each flavor. I like the cheese filling more and i enjoyed the slight crunchy texture of the waffle coin. It is made to order and is about a 10 minute wait. The storefront faces the supermarket, so walk a few aisles and soon will be ready. They also hand you a beeper that will notify you when your order is ready. Wow this place has really kept me captive. First I tried their bao...it was pretty good. Then I took home some kimchi... the best one I ever tasted...promise!!!! First of all, I'm not a person who reviews a lot, but I write reviews where I recommend them to my friend among the places I've experienced. And this restaurant is one of those places. I'm a longtime patron of the original Place located in HMart diamond bar. And I recently found out that it opened a branch in West Covina. The new branch was a very neat and accessible place next to the new building and the new market. I have no doubts about the dumplings in this restaurant. All the dumplings are delicious. As I wrote in other reviews, I can eat spicy shrimp dumplings every day (Sorry my stomach ,.) and the newly established Korean side dish course were not very attractive to me as a Korean, but I couldn't just pass on gimbap.
