Their pan fried buns are the best I've had in OC (my fave in the US is in Flushing NY), so that's always a dish I have to order. Their mala beef noodle soups are solid, the broth is rich and the noodles are firm enough. The restaurant has very generous portions for their appetizers. The seaweed app is a heaping mountain and the popcorn chicken always comes on a large plate. Their drinks are also big so it's great to share with the group. Beware that it's steaming hot when it first comes out and it can still be too hot to eat even minutes after. To cool it down, poke a hole through the inside. It's typically eaten with vinegar, soy sauce, and a bit of ginger slices which added nice flavors. 4/5 BEEF ROLL ($16) - I liked the crispy exterior and there was a good portion of meat. This was one of the dishes I liked more than others. 4.5/5 HOT OIL SHRIMP PORK WITH CHINESE CABBAGE WONTON ($14) - the wontons were larger than typical and while I liked the mala spice of the sauce, I wasn't the biggest fan of the overall flavor of the sauce. 3.5/5 HOUSE SPECIAL BEEF NOODLE SOUP ($15.50) - the broth was flavorful and the meat pieces were very tender. Today is Mother's Day, and we were lucky to get a table right away, so there was no need to wait. All of the foods we ordered arrived quickly, and the Green Tea I ordered was huge cup. The restaurant was busy but still felt clean inside. I got the house special beef noodle soup ($15.50), and we shared xiao long bao (eight pieces for $12.50). The soup had a lot of thin egg noodles and large beef pieces. The dishes here can be shareable, and they put little soup bowls each for us four. The dining space was nice with lots of seating for smaller sized parties. We ordered the crab XLB, black pepper beef udon, popcorn chicken, sautéed spinach, and hot chili oil wontons. The crab XLB had yummy flavor, but wish the XLB skin was more moist and thin. The black pepper beef udon wasn't smokey, but the flavor and overall balance of the dish was still tasty. So finding a legit noodle spot usually feels like searching for the Tesseract... everyone claims they have it but it's usually a fake (Red Skull and Loki crave over this Tesseract). But the food here is actually excellent. The beef roll literally knocks it out of the park like Hulk smashing Loki in Stark Tower. We actually had take out from here one night,, and it survived the car ride home better than Captain America's shield takes a hit. The dumplings were quite good too - a bunch of them just packed with flavor. It was so wonderful we came back to eat inside a few days later. The inside feels great. kinda like the Sanctum Sanctorum of Dr Strange but with way better smells. If you like a good popcorn chicken, I highly recommend ordering the version here. The black pepper beef fried udon tasted just as good as it looked on the menu. The udon noodles were nicely coated in the flavorful sauce. There are plenty of veggies and slices of beef to offset all noodles. Really great noods if you're looking for one. When I tell you that I have not been more satisfied at a restaurant in my previous 20 years plus of living in SoCal, I have been missing out on Mr. Dragon noodle House has been providing. The service was top-notch, quick, friendly, and super efficient. There are a lot of seats, but they turn the seats around pretty quickly so they can accommodate for many customers that lineup at their door. You have to come try basically every single dish year that I have in my pictures, because they are all really delicious and of high-quality Asian food. I really love coming to Mr Dragon Noodle House for authentic Taiwanese food. I love how they offer Yelp Waitlist queue, so we don't physically need to be there in order to add ourselves to the waiting list The business does quite well and always busy. There are so many good food choices and you can't go wrong. I recommend doing family style so everyone gets to try different dishes. The portions are good to share as well. I haven't had rice cake for a while so I ordered pork rice cake (think it's the same dish as last time I visited). hubby ordered the beef+tendon noodle soup. we were both pleasantly surprised that the beef and tendon were cooked through and very tender and flavorful. the noodles were cooked with a little chewy style, to our liking, The only thing missing is the pickled veggies 酸菜, they would charge extra $2/3 (on top of $16 noodle soup). the rice cake was also just ok (as my previous visit). traditional Shanghai rice cake that I'm used to should use black Shiitake mushrooms with Napa cabbage. they served with a few pieces of spinach and slices of onions with slices of regular mushrooms. so even though there's enough wok temperature (鍋氣), flavor was ok, but lack the correct ingredients, which would have make this dish much flavorful and tastier. we've seen other tables' steam soup dumplings and potstickers, both looked very appetizing. we asked the waitress if they change the cook recently as the food is much better this time. the answer was the cook was trained for this location when it was first opened, now it's been a few years so his skills are improving?! price is not cheap, but most places are charging similar prices ($16/bowl). at least we've found a place for good beef noodle soup that we will come back for it. read more
