I bought the: - Tofu pudding/dessert tofu/dou hua with brown sugar on the side - Delicious and silky! The brown sugar was light and added just enough sweetness to complement the tofu. - Taro buns (5 ct) - This is the best taro bun my family and I ever had. The breadskin is so light and fluffy. The taro paste filling was not overly dense nor sweet. You can really taste the taro in the filling. - Organic scallion buns (6 ct) - This is the best scallion bun my family and I ever had. We could taste the scallion flavor without it being too strong. The bun was a touch denser than the taro bun. - Meat and veggie buns - The meat and veggie filling was delicious and not too saltym. The veggies in the filling still has a crunch to them (unlike buns I've tried from other places). The bun itself was light and not too dense. - Unsweetened soy milk - The soy milk was light and the perfect consistency. It isn't thick or grainy like some other soy milks can be. - Tofu jerky - Flavorful, but not too salty. Great pairing with a bowl of rice! - Zongzi (Taiwanese style) - Delicious and light. Also not too salty or rich. The shop itself is small, but very clean and organized. The shop owner is so cute and enthusiastic about all of her products. She shared how to best store them since she doesn't use preservatives and how to heat them. There is a handwritten menu in Chinese on a board to the side of the refrigerated section. The refrigerator doors also had photos of the item with the name in English and Chinese, and the price. The non-refrigerated part of the store has shelves with sauces you could use to prepare/cook your tofu. Cash and credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) accepted, although there is a 5% charge for using credit card. They're located at the very end of Front St (dead end). They're in the brick building with no signage/store name. If the door is locked during the posted business hours, just ring the doorbell and the owner will open the door for you. Parking is shared with other shops on this street. With the flow of customers coming and going, I never had any issues finding a spot. read more

Small shop in the back of what looks like a lot of small mechanic shops. There is no signage and it's just a brick building with a gated door. Once inside there is a white board with hand written menu of everything they offer. The menu is in Chinese with some English. I got the sweet soy milk and the tofu dessert. Both were phenomenal. You can really tell they make their soy products fresh in the factory next door. The shopkeeper is super sweet and offered bags of ice in case I had a long drive home. Overall fantastic spot to get some freshly made soy products - milk, tofu, everything made with tofu and some random things like frozen dumplings. Mary is so sweet! I remember her when this was in the walnut location, but now they have moved here. Premium quality soy milk, soy dessert, buns and much more! Was able to try her fried tofu, and reheat it in my air fryer at home, so crisp, and good. Wish that she still sold some of her food items like she used to. Keep note that it is only open 4 days a week, and it gets busy on the weekends. The place is clean, not that big but has a good amount of things that they sell. I finally got to try and visited this place. For my first time visit, I didn't know what to expect, since i did came here last week but the door was locked and i assumed they closed early and today it was locked again but I had a customer help me and they rang the ring door for the owner to come open the door for me. The owner was so sweet! Make sure to bring cash but they do take cc's... The only reason I came was for the tofu pudding. Better deal if you buy 4 or more which is $12 The moment I took my first spoonful, I was hooked. The tofu pudding was silky, smooth, and delicate, it practically melted in my mouth. It had that perfect fresh soybean flavor that's hard to find anywhere else. You can tell it's made with care and love. If you're a fan of classic tofu desserts or just looking to try something light and comforting, this place is a hidden gem. Been coming here for years, everything always freshly made. No food preservatives - several times I delayed using items like tofu skin for several days and it went bad. Don't misinterpret this as bad - just the opposite, demonstrating that there is 'no preservatives' - all fresh and meant to be consumed with much shorter shelf life. You can freeze most items if you're not going to use it immediately. We typically use a handful of items within a couple of days bringing home, while we freeze the rest. Soft silken tofu for dessert (comes with brown sugar ginger sauce on the side), tofu, soy milk (offers both sweet and unsweetened) and another dozen or so items in their fridge. Along one of the walls are grocery items, the back wall has the refrigerated stuff (soy milk, different types of tofu, etc) There is a photo of the item and English word for it. The menu itself is in Chinese on a whiteboard with the pricing. The lady in the front says she's limited in her English but speaks quite well. She recommends using Google Translate to see the items. I came looking for particular item, the soy pudding. Unlike other places, they have theirs in the refrigerator already portioned out in a serving. Purchasing one by itself is about $4 for each one so she recommended buying 4 to save $1. The sugar syrup is separate and different than most other places as well. It was almost a black sugar syrup with not much ginger taste to it, definitely no ginger pieces. Once heated up the soy pudding tasted much better than it just being luke warm or cold. It's good and smooth but pricey. Cash only. I went out of my way to try looking for another place since the place near me has since changed their recipe due to new ownership. Imagine my excitement when I overheard they reopened again! The familiar voice of the lady who calls all her customers "baobei". Their place in Walnut was my go-to tofu place back in the early days of college. They even had stinky tofu at one time!! All the taiwanese OG moms knew about this place. So anyway, long story short--they've reopened in a different city--at the end of a little unassuming street. They are basically a mini "factory" that makes tofu pudding, soy milk, all sorts of tofu products, condiments and healthier foods from Taiwan, plum and wintermelon tea, and my favorite sesame cold noodles!!!! They also have a frozen sections with buns, meat balls, etc. If you go on the weekend, they'll have tofu pudding with boba. I know SGV has a lot of places that make tofu pudding, but theirs is among the best in my opinion. So silky and lightly sweetened. Mmm. I just hate the drive there...I like 30 minutes away. This place has been around for a while according to my girlfriend... They used to be in a different location maybe 20 years ago but are now in this location. I had some of their tofu (medium firm) and it was excellent! Bouncy, soft but firm, and a little squeaky that gives it some unique texture compared to the store-bought counterparts. I also had to tofu dessert (dofufa or douhua) with the brown sugar and it was deeeeelicious! Always fun to introduce a friend to a cuisine you grew up eating. I remember this place near my dad's work in Walnut. They even had someone sell dumplings from the back of their car. When I mentioned this to the owner, she said: That was so long ago! I introduced some buns, tofu products, etc. to my Korean friend. She fell in love with the spicy fruity tofu jerky made in house. We even got to try a sample. She also wished she would've bought more. She bought some tofu dessert, tofu skins, buns, etc. I bought the taro bun, sesame bun, fried tofu, fried tofu skin, etc. My kids practically inhaled the tofu. NO stinky tofu though. She says they'll eventually have it. They do have tofu cheesecake but you have to specially reserve it and only available on weekends. Coworker told me about this place and how quickly they usually sell out of their fresh tofu. Followed her advice and reserved 3 blocks of tofu on Friday for a Saturday pickup. Received a confirmation a few hours later asking an ETA for pickup. Arrived exactly at 10:01 and there was only 1 customer checking out. He did have a substantial order and noticed there were 4 blocks of tofu left on the center table. By the time we made it to the back of the store, 8 other people were behind us. Grabbed 2 豆花 (tofu pudding), bottle of 豆漿 (soy milk), bag of frozen 教 (dumplings) and headed to the checkout counter. As we they were tallying our bill, they brought out more 豆花 with 珍珠 (boba). The 豆花 with 珍珠 was tasty as boba was still warm. I loved the brown sugar that they included. For me it was the perfect sweetness. This was big enough for 2 people to share as it was pretty filling. The fresh 豆腐 (tofu) was really good and can be eaten simply with a bit of soy sauce or thrown into soup (also perfect for hot pot). This is not like your typical silken tofu as it is firm and does retain its shape when cooked. They include the same brown sugar with the 豆花 so I naturally loved it. This is unlike the typical Cantonese version where they use rock sugar w/ginger as a sweetener. The frozen 教 was also good but a bit pricey at $35/bag. Will be going back for more in the near future. Do arrive early as they sell out of products quickly. read more

Their freshly made blocks of tofu are delicious! You can actually taste the soy bean flavor and texture has a nice light chewiness to it. Obviously fresh tofu is better tasting than the store bought tofu so give it a try! I wish I lived closer to this place so I can always get fresh tofu....if you don't finish it, you have to put it in a container and change out the water daily for 7 days to keep it's freshness. Have patience with them, they really are the sweetest. To read their signs, just use Google translate. Their tofu is great, I'm working through trying everything in their store! They sell lots of snacks like tofu puddy and ginger sugar (or honey, I'm not sure which one it is they specifically make), winter melon tea, sour plum tea, soy noodles, soy milk(sweet and unsweetened), etc. In the freezer section. They also have a variety of items like buns and dumplings you can purchase. I like that inside the store. They have dry goods you can purchase as well. The tofu has a good flavor and definitely tastes fresh. During certain days of the week even sell special items. On Saturdays they sell their tofu pudding topped with boba, so good! Different than anything I've had before. On Fridays and Saturdays they sell basque cheesecake made with soy milk. It's extremely well made and very creamy. There are some quirky things about this place that you should know before you visit: - The location is strange. It's in a random strip mall on a side street and there's no visible signage out the front either. Look for the number 781. - The menu with prices is completely in Chinese. If you speak Chinese, that helps! The owner is nice and spoke to me in Taiwanese Mandarin. - Cash only - credit card is for purchases $25 and up. I love that such an authentic Taiwanese business is in the middle of Covina. The food products here are excellent. I would recommend: - Tofu pudding. 甜豆花 Wow. The soy flavor was so pure and clean. And it's only $2. #1 recommendation if you come here. - Pressed Tofu 豆乾 - this also had a clean soy flavor. - Green Onion Pancakes 蔥油餅 - these are amazing when you reheat the on the pan. If you wanna be extra Taiwanese you can add a fried egg on top of it. The sweetened soy milk was a little too sweet for my liking...next time I'll just get the regular soy milk and add sugar to it myself.
