Tonight we had Smoke Grilled Salmon Sandwich & Crab Combo with Slaw and Seasoned Fries from the Crab Cab when they came to our bldg, Notch 8, this evening. We had never heard of them previously but since they were just outside the bldg entrance we figured we would give them a shot. The food was not inexpensive, but the quality was very good and the portions plentiful. It's definitely something I would do again... Is tomorrow too soon??? Staff was very pleasant as well. My heart was set on crab and Crab Cab was at L'Enfant Plaza. Perfect! The line was rather long that day so it was about 30 minutes total waiting for food. I ordered the firecracker combo that sounded spectacular. It was a crab cake sandwich, fried shrimp, fries, and a salad. The fries ended up being the best part of that meal. The bun for the sandwich was toasted nicely. I liked the shape of the crab cake since it matched the bun. The crab cake itself was full of filler and crab was very difficult to find. The fried shrimp was okay and ultimately forgettable. The salad was a nice compliment to an otherwise fried, carby lunch. Overall, it wasn't worth the wait. read more

Then of course I was getting crabcakes. She was like there is a crabstacker that's also a special. We wasn't starving so we shared the 2 crabcake platter. She then said the you get the stacker for a little more. So now the wheels are turning because we just ordered a $42 plate. She was trying to get us to order expensive items because she automatically gets a 18% gratuity. I enjoyed the food but you want your server to give you insight on their favorites , not trying to drive up the check to make tips. Food was good but I probably won't sit in again. We sat in my car for over 40 minutes waiting to be called to go in and get a table. We were very clear on our spot in line and were parked in one of the two spots right in front of the restaurant. We could see people go in and out and we saw the couple that came in AFTER we did and sign in under us. We finally got our call and darted out to walk in only to see the couple who signed in after us given a table. We were offered two seats at the bar. Both myself and buddy are 6'5" and 6'7". Clearly that was NOT going to work. When I asked the host why the couple that was after us got a table and we were being offered the bar he stated that they just seat people as they come in. Make that make sense?!?! The two seats at the bar were so close together and the people on either side didn't seem to be moving to make room. So we decided that since our table was clearly given away and he didn't seem to care saying "you'll still have the same great experience sitting at the bar" that we would leave. We ended up finding another restaurant that had better customer service and the food was great. I gladly paid over $120 for our food. Too bad my money didn't go to the place I originally wanted it to go but oh well! Honesty and customer service counts. I won't be back. read more

I found this hidden gym on UberEats while staying in DC. I am soooo happy I found it. I ordered the Crab Cake sandwich and crab fries. Their flavors are spot on. The sandwich had the softest bread that blended perfectly with the crab cake and sauce. But the crab fries were DELICIOUS. I have no idea who put their feet in the sauce, but I could eat it everyday. A friend and I saw positive reviews for this seafood restaurant and we wanted to try it out. We drove an HOUR to get to this restaurant. Parking was tight but we found a spot and the restaurant appeared to be busy (which we took as a good sign). We walked in and stood by the hostess stand where there was a sign, that stated "please wait to be seated". No hostess in sight which wasn't a big deal at first. We then proceeded to stand there for a total of 10 MINUTES. Not a single person greeted us, not a single solitary person said "hello, welcome, we will be with you in a second".....NOTHING. CUSTOMER SERVICE is a big deal for me, and to have us stand there to the point where even some of the patrons that were already seated were awkwardly looking at us, was enough for us to just leave and take our business elsewhere. Even as we were leaving a gentleman who was just parking, asked us why we were leaving and when we told him, he proceeded to shake his head, say that was ridiculous and then pulled off. If this is the type of service that you get right at the door, then my money would be better spent at Crafty Crab where at least I know I'll be greeted and made to feel welcomed. read more

Didn't have a good experience tonight. Went for happy hour. Walked in around 5:40. Wasnt acknowledged and sat until about 5:55. It's advertised for happy hour 4-7PM, online and on their menus. Ordered our drinks from the happy hour menu. Waiter comes back 10 mins later saying he was just informed happy hour ends at 6pm but placed our first round of drink. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! After awaiting another 15-20 mins, I informed him we was ready to order, he states someone else will take our order. Now I'm annoyed. She comes 5 mins later but take the order for the table next to us who came 15 mins after us. As she's about to take our order she states, "hold on, one second" as I'm telling her what I want to order then go handle another tables bill! I visited here for the first time while my parents were in town. I got the dominator, which came with Crab and Salmon Fries, a Crab Cake Sandwich and salad with Fire Cracker Shrimp. It was DELICIOUS! My mom got the Crab Cake Sandwich as well, with just regular season fries, which was also a winner. My dad tried the Shrimp Po'Boy with seasoned fries and it was full of shrimp and really tasty. The fries themselves are great but the seafood on top takes them up a notch. The sauce they put on the side and on everything is great. I haven't had an experience this bad in a while. I ended up wanting to go here because of Tik Tok but lesson learned! The crab cake was so flat and cold. The fries were hard. The egg roll was like a frozen generic egg roll from the supermarket. The service was so bad. I understood they were short staffed but even then we didn't get any water, we ordered happy hour drinks and never got 1 round and got charged full price. Then we were told that in order to get happy hour rates you have to say it explicitly even if you order happy hour drinks. At one point the table next to me had 5 guests when it only seats 4. The 5th guest pulled up a chair next to me and we were shoulder to shoulder. The ambiance is nonexistent. Its definitely more of a to go spot. The bartender said it's normally not like this. I'm guessing from the recent post that was advertised made people want to come. On top of that the owner left in the middle of a rush. Leaving the little bit of staff she had to make it work. Mind you this place is not big at all. Disappointing is the only word I have. All the reviews I read said you got crab cakes with lump crab meat and no filler, and that the bisque was good.
