Great food delicious decadent crab cake sandwich! Their food truck came to our hotel last night and I had the fire cracker shrimp. Shrimp were fried / battered perfectly. With a sauce they served with it was amazing. The crab cake sandwich that came with it was superb . Excellent seasoning and optioned just right. The bread also complemented the crab cake very well. I'm not a fan of Food Trucks, but I love The Crab Cab. It checks off all the boxes for me. It is clean, the food is fresh and the customer service is always quality and on-point. I am a creature of habit so I usually order the Salmon salad which is flavorful, generous portion and so good. I've also had the crab cake, fries and seafood egg rolls. My food has always been hot and yummy. I look forward to eating from them again. Definitely give them a shot! read more

I finally bumped into the Crabcab and I I'm extremely satisfied. Everything was totally delicious and the price was right; however, I think I was supposed to get a drink with my combo, but I didn't. They were extremely busy, but I waited about 15- minutes for my meal and that was good because it was lunch time. Cons: No parking, took a chance and double parked right in front of the truck. The crabcake was perfectly delicious, however, it's not JUMBO CRAB MEAT, its called a jumbo crabcake, it may be made with jumbo crabmeat but you will not find pieces of jumbo crab. This is not a deal breaker, the crabcake is well made, the sauce is food the bread is toasted and its simply a very good crabcake. Fries and salad was the bomb. Service and staff are very pleasant and professional. Truck is clean and the food is prepared quickly. Sadly. It is average at best. For $18 you get a combo of the crab cake sandwich, shrimp, fries and salad. The shrimp was decent, nothing special at all about it. The crab cake left much to be desired. By itself it was tasteless and had no character. I used some of the sauce that was given and it did pair nicely but I shouldn't have to use a condiment to make the food more than what it is. It's supposed to compliment the food, not do what should've been done to it in the first place. I hope they improve their crab cakes and even their shrimp. Make their truck something unique and special and not just another truck in a flooded industry where many more are very very good. read more

I gave it one star because the fire shrimp and salad were delicious. However, the crab cake wasn't fresh at all and was burnt. It had a rotten taste. The service was slow and horrible. They wouldn't give me a refund and tried to charge me extra to get something else off of the menu. Needless to say, this food truck goes under my never again file. read more

I love food trucks, but this one really let me down. The line was shorter than most of the other trucks out today, and I was in a hurry so I figured I'd give Crab Cab a shot. I love crabcake sandwiches, so I figured it'd be a winner. I was wrong. I waited almost 20 minutes after ordering - it would've been faster for me to wait in line at another truck. When I got back to my office, I was sorely disappointed. This was hardly a crab cake sandwich. It looked like pressed crab mix squeezed out of a tube onto a hot dog roll. No lettuce or tomato. The bun itself was incredibly soggy. While eating (I was starving and had no time to get another lunch), I had to pick little bits of shell out of my mouth. This is a definite pass - even the hot dog vendors are better and you won't be out $12 for a crappy sandwich! read more

Hunted them down via twitter. It's viciously cold out today and yet I stood in line patiently and was not disappointed. I got the crab cake combo and an extra crab cake sandwich for good measure. The combo came with fries and coleslaw. Everything I had tasted great and the crab cake sandwich was mostly crab with little filler. I just went to this truck today the first time when they were parked in Friendship Heights. I am on Atkins and was only planning on getting the soup, but then I saw everyone getting a salad so I ordered soup + salad for $15. This may have been a seasonal item. I have to say, it was a delicious salad! It was mostly field greens (fresh) with a few dried cranberries and chopped dates which I took off. There were two dressings (a creamy dressing and a sweeter sauce) and they gave just the right amount so that it was not swimming in the dressing, but every bite had a bit of dressing available. On top of the salad was a big crab cake. I don't understand the complaints about the size. Seems on the large size for the typical cake. The crab cake was just off the grill, soft, savory and filled with crab. The crab bisque was cream based, slightly spicy soup with little chunks of sweet crab floating around. They gave a small cup-sized amount as a side. I am completely stuffed at the moment. Not hungry in the least. Overall, great place. Minus 1 star for the steep price, but Booeymongers salads are around $9 with no sides. I would also appreciate it if the truck made nutrition information available on their website for those of us who are on restricted diets to make informed decisions. Split the firecracker shrimp combo with a friend. Spicy seasoned fries, green salad, fried spicy shrimp, crab cake sandwich, and a side of what seemed to be remoulade sauce. $18 all told, and way more food than I could have eaten by myself. For $9/person, though, my friend and I had a fresh, hot, nicely prepared and delicious meal from the Crab Cab. The shrimp were fresh and tender, and the batter was light and crunchy. The crab cake was oblong and served in a split hot-dog-bun-like toasted roll. It was delicious and full of lump crab meat. The fries were crisp on the outside, hot and fluffy on the inside. All in all, no complaints here. I'd visit this truck again, only if I'm eating alone I'll definitely order a smaller meal. read more

This is the best crab cake that I've had in a long time- it beats the sit-down establishments of recent memory. The cake was pure lump crab meat with a mayo base- it is lightly seasoned to let the flavor of the meat shine through. The bun is slightly sweet, which I really liked (sweet and salty combos are my fave). Amazingly, i didn't have ONE piece of shell in the sandwich- hats off to the chef for that (I recently dined at Tosca, and had to pick around 15 pieces of shell out of my pasta). The only regret I have is not getting the combo, because I could've used a little more food. The sandwich is on the smaller side (think lobster roll- this one is also served on a hot dog shaped bun), but I still thought the quality was worth the price ($12- that INCLUDES the tax, so it's more like $11). I took a chance on a crab food truck and was not disappointed! I had the crab cake platter with rock shrimp on side instead of coleslaw. It wasn't cheap but seafood never is. The crab was full of nice lump meat and the sauce they use on top was kind of sweet. The rock shrimp came with salad and was just the right amount of spice. Out of all the taco trucks, it was nice to find a tasty crab cake. I'd eat there again, just not everyday. Can't afford that deliciousness everyday! read more

I ordered from your truck 2 days and was disappointed. The time to wait on your food, even for small items is more then 20 min. Better prep of certain foods & condiments can help with that. I had the crab bisque and crab fries. Both a disappointment. For the soup, it was watery. My fries had about a tablespoon & a 1/2 of crab meat dumped on top of a bowl full of fries. Also, their was a long strand of hair under the crab meat, mixed in with the fries. I didn't see 1 woman on the truck with a hair net on. Please do better. I would love to try to support your Black business again but at the moment I'm disappointed. read more

This food truck ranks insanely high on my list of places to go for fast and quick food. This truck I discovered at Broccoli Fest 2015 & ever since then, I have been a fan. After Broccoli Fest, I forgot about it and then all of a sudden I was trying to recant the truck name and where I could find it. I later found it and went to the address on yelp. It then took me to Tenleytown, but the truck was nowhere to be found. That's when I made the discovery, that is a food truck and doesn't have a central location. One day, I ended up at L'enfant Plaza and there it was! I tried to mask my smile to not look like a smiling idiot as I walked past people. That's when I asked the girl who took my order where they are location and she told me they are in various places around the city, focusing on most metro stations. Now to what I order.. When I first got it at BC Fest, I had the crab & shrimp roll, fries & a salad instead of the coleslaw option they have. My my my! It was literally the best thing I had ever tasted tbh. Now when I go, they don't carry the Crab & Shrimp roll anymore, but I just stick to the crab roll. They also have this sauce that taste amazing on the sandwich and also equally amazing with the fries. I always ask for extra sauce! The total for the meal is $16 but its also very filling to me especially because I have a small stomach. So so, and WAY overpriced for what it was. I am somewhat crab cake obsessed and have tried them all over town and this one was nothing special. First off, it wasn't a crab cake sandwich, as advertised. It was more of a crab roll (similar to a lobster roll). It was TINY, the bun was soggy and it was undercooked. It came with nothing on it (for a "sandwich" I would have expected at least lettuce and tomato) and I was still STARVING after having eaten it, despite the fact that I spent $12 AND waited 20 minutes for it. It's one thing to charge $12 for a lobster roll (I mean, it's lobster after all), but not for this thing. Much better crab cakes elsewhere in town - pass on this one! read more

It was because I walked over mile to get lunch and they had a technical problem and had to close. I had 3 orders that were disappointed. I got the crab cake sandwich, coleslaw (salad) and fries, with the crab bisque soup. The crab cake sandwich had awesome flavor, with side dressing to add to it if I wanted, the fries were some of the best fries I've ever had, and the soup was phenomenal with pieces of crab within it and a little kick to it!
