    Mac and cheese

This is my first time visiting, place is clean, lots of menus posted. Ordered to go and took it back to my hotel room. Service was good, even got a free dessert as a first time customer! Oxtail was soo delicious!! Very tender and flavorful! Probably the best I've had in a while. Mac and cheese is okay, ate it with the gravy from the oxtail. Plantains were good too! I eat it as a dessert, as its a little sweet. I got too full to finish the beef patty and coco bread, but the patty was flaky with good flavor, and coco bread was soft. Rum cake was moist and not too sweet, topped with walnuts. Overall very pleased with this place! I will definitely be back again!

I am always up for some Caribbean food and so I decided to stop by after work. Inspite of the existing reviews, I wanted to give it a fair chance. As I am reviewing the menu, I start asking questions... this brings me to my next point. They need a fresh start as this place was just taken over 45 days ago by new management. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. I thought the prices were a little high, but he told me about the daily specials at $6.50 with 2 sides. I really wanted jerk chicken and he had a deal that I didn't see on the menu... for under $10. It came with 2 sides...so I got the plantains and baked mac n cheese. Both were legit sides and I would highly recommend. The jerk chicken was really good but not as spicy as I would like, but I understand that they have to cater to the populous. I ended up getting the spicy beef patty for $2.25. I recommend eating it right away as the crust gets hard sitting in the container for 15 minutes. They have a separate room that he mentioned for the military folks to gather after hours w/ a bar, etc. I mentioned that the sign to the store was hard to see and he mentioned that he was planning on revamping the signs and making it more visible. Overall very satisfied and hope this place survives despite the previous negative reviews.

Great taste and great portions for vegans looking for something different in your neighborhood.

Where do I start? This was the nastiest food ever! I got curry chicken over white rice with Mac and yams. The yams were the best part. I had to mix them with everything to cover up the taste and not waste my money. The Mac was dry as hell, the rice was hard as pebbles. The curry chicken tasted like curry and water. No flavor whatsoever! No gravy for the rice. Complete disappointment! Worst food I've ever tasted smh

    Yummy.

This establishment was recommended to me and I wasn't disappointed. I got the brown stew chicken and a jerk shrimp and chicken special. Both dishes were excellent. Even the accompanying rice was flavorful enough that it could have stood on its own and I don't like rice! I ordered it to go and the portions were as generous as you'd expect if you ate in. The 2 gentlemen who waited on me were personable. I'm anxious to try other menu items so will stop again when in the area.

It was some of THEE BEST soul food I have had in a long time. Too bad I forgot to take pics of the food. I ordered fried Cajun catfish, potato salad and collard greens. The Cajun catfish and potato salad are to die for, you hear me???? The collard greens were okay but were not seasoned the way I would have liked. Also, they don't serve bread with their meals. Would have loved a piece of white bread or cornbread. My 14 year old granddaughter ordered fried chicken wings and was sucking the bones. She also ordered the Mac n Cheese which she said was to die for! She, too, felt the collard greens were okay but nothing to write home about. Neither of us ate our greens. We wanted to order sweet iced tea which is usually a staple in most soul food restaurants but at 2:30pm they had already run out. Also, we wanted to eat in the dining room but they said the dining room closes at 2:00pm :-( so we got our food to go and ate in the car. Mind you, it was about 90 degrees outside but we turned the air conditioning on in the car and enjoyed our lunch. Too bad I discovered this place on the day before I left the conference because otherwise I would have been eating here everyday of the conference.
