Crabby's has been one of my favorites for years. They brought out the wrong order for my son - fish sandwich was ordered but received a burger. It took so long to get the proper order that we just had to cancel it. They graciously took it off the bill. Well I hope so since we never got it. And the waitress disappeared for a very long time. Crabby's is falling down on my dinner list which hurts them even more since I live in Daytona and not a tourist. Lastly, this place ain't cheap. Too many other good restaurants around. read more

Overrated, touristy and mediocre in every way possible. Yelp reviews led me astray on this one... I will say the Royal red peel & eat shrimp appetizer was extremely tasty and the best part of our experience. Service was terrible. They seemed understaffed but our server in particular had 0 recommendations when asking about dishes because they didn't "eat fish" but conveniently suggested we get the crab and rum buckets (all of their priciest items). When I go to an establishment I'd rather have the best dishes regardless of price. An attempt to up sell us the whole time is just obnoxious and not a great time. Full bar which is nice but all of their cocktails are full of sugar, no homemade mixes. No handcrafted cocktails- mediocre. We all got different dishes: stuffed flounder, island mahi, shrimp skewers, grouper. No one raved about their entrees but they were decent. Stuffed flounder seemed to be the best option. They all came with sides. Creamed corn with bacon was pretty good. Side salads were not fresh and just meh. We barely got checked on the entire visit. Restaurant was packed so maybe have some grace when coming to this tourist trap. Location was conveniently on the beach. Great patio. They also have their own parking lot, a plus in my book. Something to keep in mind- this entire area of Daytona Beach is all touristy so pick and choose wisely! read more

First we waited for our server for a long time. She was talking to a guy customer by the door to the back. The soup was very good. The crab cakes were horrible. Could have got those in the freezer dept at the grocery store. The burger was not cooked properly and was bland to taste. We were not impressed at all. We came in on a Thursday when they first opened so we had our pick of outdoor or indoor seating without a wait. We chose indoor by the windows so we would have an ocean view. I had blackened chicken tacos and cheese grits. The cheese grits were absolutely delicious! The chicken in the tacos were chicken tenders. I would rate the tacos at a 7. My hubby had a combo with shrimp and mahi mahi. He said it was good but the mahi mahi was slightly overcooked. He did love the cream corn though. For dessert we had the award winning key lime. That was delicious as well. Our waitress was attentive and even though it had rained, the staff were quick to wipe town the tables and chairs outside so people could enjoy eating outdoors without a wait for things to dry off. This restaurant came highly recommended by our Uber driver, looked lovely approaching at dusk, plus we were very hungry, so expectations were high as we were seated at a choice beachside table on our first night in Daytona. Thankfully we ordered an appetizer, the Boom Boom shrimp, which was tasty. My husband came with the intent of eating crabs so that is what he ordered. They serve Bairdi crab, which our waiter told us is sweeter than other crab legs. My husband said that it was good but decided he prefers King Crab or Maryland style crab as that is what he used to. I ordered the Mahi Mahi which unfortunately was over cooked and rather dry. I suppose I could have asked them to redo it but we had waited so long for our food I didn't want to wait any longer. The mango salsa helped a little. Even though it was on the chilly side we enjoyed watching the night fall on the ocean and my husband enjoyed his dinner. We ended up here on a whim, but I'm glad we stumbled upon it like we did. It was a beautiful day out so we sat outside with the most perfect view of the ocean. It was a wonderful relaxing ambiance. The restaurant even has a little sandy area to play corn hole if you want. The food was fantastic! I had a blackened grouper sandwich with sweet potato fries. The blackened grouper was a pretty big piece of fish, perfectly cooked and extremely fresh. I really enjoyed their homemade key lime tartar sauce. Not overly key limey, but just enough to give it some tang and set it apart from others. The sweet potato fries were also to die for. They have a really good drink list, and I liked that they had a few local beers on tap to choose from. I tried a local blonde, and found it very crisp and very refreshing with great flavor. The other members of my group really enjoyed what they got (crab cakes, lobster roll, and bacon clam chowder). One even went so far as to say the clam chowder was the best they've ever had. Wow! We went for dinner after reading some reviews on here and boy was it worth it! I forgot to snap a picture of the crab dip, but that was the highlight of the dinner! We've been talking about it all weekend! The lobster and Mahi were also cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and creamy, the vegetables were cooked perfectly. 10/10 recommend going here. We sat outside at the bar, the bartenders were all great, the weather was a bit chilly but nothing beats that view. The only issue was bees, they were everywhere. They have plenty of outside seating with umbrellas and an outside bar. When we checked in with Yelp we got a free appetizer and we chose the crab and spinach dip. The dip was hot, fresh, and cheesy. It paired well with the tortilla chips. For an entrée we split the hogfish imperial. It was perfectly crispy fried, the imperial sauce had lots of crabs and flavor, and the garden salad we got with it was delicious. For dessert we split the peanut butter pie. The service Chris provided was five star!! The place is very clean and the timing of everything was spot on. I would avoid the fish as both my grilled, blackened mahi and my husband's fried fish were way over done. The shrimp here, on the other hand are cooked perfectly.
