I've always loved their food. Great place to go for comfort food, a southern dish, home cooked feel, etc. The dining area is open, no outdoor seating. Having said that the wait time is insane. Lots of large families waiting 90 minutes or more to eat here. We decided to check in, then go to our hotel room to get ready. By the time we were walking out the door, we received a text stating our table is being prepared for us. Awful service. We had to wait a long time to order and when we finally did, 20 minutes later I was told chicken tenders were unavailable. I placed a new order and we waited for so long. At one point, I overhward our waitress ask someone if our food order had been put in. Really?!? Finally some of our food came but of course we had to ask for multiple missing items. We also asked for water multiple times but never got any - our waitress was much too busy chatting with another worker to be bothered. I always liked this place , Today it was so bad they sat me by the divider wall . These dust balls on that rail were as big as gum balls . I wanted to run to Home Depot and purchase swifters to dust the whole place. My utensils had crud on them. Manager said they dusted the top yesterday and did not clean up afterwards. We have stopped here a few times through the years when heading home from upstate and it is so good every time. On the weekends expect a long wait. The country store when you first walk in is really great. So many items and throwback candy. Service is usually always pretty quick. Food is always hot and you'd get a great amount. The chicken potions are huge and crispy. No let's talk about the bill. I figured the nice restaurant, the store connected, parking and the large portion of food that the bill would of been close to $100 for the 3 of us. Boy was I wrong. The bill was $35. i left incredibly disappointed and dissatisfied. my family and i like to go to cracker barrel for breakfast either here or in connecticut, and the differences here and in connecticut are vastly different. firstly, i got the steak and egg hash brown casserole bowl, something i always get when i go to a cracker barrel. when i got it, the hash brown casserole was incredibly dry, and had no cheese on it like the menu described, i had to ask for a side of cheese from my server but couldn't even enjoy it well because my bowl was also cold/lukewarm. which was also another thing, our food took almost a half hour to come out. anyways, the crispy onion garnish also came out in huge rings and 2 of them weren't even breaded, just full on un breaded huge onion rings, which was disappointing as well. the steak tips didn't taste all that great either. so overall i couldn't even finish this bowl, it really wasn't good. i even left with a bad taste in my mouth. my brother ordered the exact same thing as me and also had the same exact situation. so yeah, i don't think ill ever come here again. food cold, unsatisfactory, and took forever to come. the kitchen seriously needs to do better. although our server was great, he was a sweetheart! don't blame him at all, just the kitchen. read more

First time here The place is very country has the big wood rocking chairs and chess tables. When you walk in its a gift shop which is great if you wanna look around while you wait for a table. Portion sizes went down considerably within the past 6 months. We visit this location regularly and my son loves the meat loaf dinner. Ordered him a dinner this time and he received 1 thin slice of meatloaf. The sides used to come in small dishes now they put everything together on one plate so you don't realize the amount of food is less. First experience at Cracker Barrel was an interesting one. Coming from Manhattan on our way to apple picking it felt a little like a time warp with the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. Think IHOP meets Denny's. WAIT: We came around noon on a Saturday and for our group of 8 it was estimated to be a 50 minute wait. After 30 minutes or so, we were seated even though half our group wasn't there yet. ATMOSPHERE: Feels like a diner in the south or in the countryside. The atmosphere is lively, lots of space, lots of groups and people bustling everywhere. They have peg board games at the table for people to play with. The entrance is the huge country store which is fun to browse while you wait. FOOD: They serve breakfast all day as well as lunch when we got there. If you don't get the breakfast menu just ask for it. The menu is very expansive and they have just about everything. Things you order come with multiple side dishes, which is nice. The prices are also so cheap! For New York standards, you're paying $10-11 for a ton of food. SUNRISE SAMPLER - I opted for breakfast because I really enjoy breakfast foods and this one seemed like too good of a deal to pass up. It was about $8 for a slice of bacon, sausage, country ham, 2 eggs, biscuits, grits, gravy, hash brown casserole and fried apples. When I got my dish, I could see why it was so cheap since it's 1 slice of bacon, a small sausage patty and a small country ham. Regardless though, I was stuffed towards the end. MEATS: the bacon was good, the sausage was maybe a little on the saltier side and is a round patty, the country ham is salty and good, like the kind you get at thanksgiving. BISCUITS: they were slightly disappointing in that they were a little too soft and doughy (Popeyes is still really good) and had a slightly off aftertaste. Their jam and butters are from a package, not housemade. CORN MUFFINS: also was able to try this and it was basically like corn bread, but maybe a little less sweet? Pretty good if you enjoy cornbread. GRITS: I'm never a fan of grits, it was too bland. GRAVY: Good to put with your biscuits or your meats to make it a little less salty, and those that got chicken fried steak had extra to put on their meals. FRIED APPLES: basically the filling of an apple pie, they left the skin on, which I didn't like but it was sweet and mushy. HASHBROWN CASSEROLE: very good, it's shredded potatoes with onions and cheese made into a little lasagna like square. Overall, a good deal and definitely a good deal but the overall tastes were just A-OK. read more

The side of the day was boiled cabbage We tried the new southern fried chicken.. She came back after a few minutes and aid there was no blue cheese dressing or boiled cabbage.. Sigh . I find it funny Cracker Barrel prides themselves on their "inclusiveness" or whatever because what just happened to me and my mother was disgusting. Stopped in to Oder delivery and everyone just kept either ignoring us or passing us off saying "o someone's coming to take your order". Why is it a specific person to take a take out order ? That's nonsensical in these times man. And to make matters worse is that other customers saw us waiting and let the waitress know and she responded with "yea I know" and snickered. Years back my husband and I used to drive from New York to Florida for vacation. That's how we discovered Cracker Barrel. We would always stop at one of their locations for a bite, and always enjoyed ourselves. The last time we went to a location in Fishkill. The food was horrible. Not worth spending hard earned money on. There are no options for people who have food allergies. Also if you have high blood pressure, the food is overly salted. I'm done with this chain. read more

Do you like the color grey? Well, you'd better, because that's all you'll be eating. You don't go into any Cracker Barrel with high expectations for ambiance, so I'm not making any marks about that. You fully expect screaming kids not being controlled by their parents, checkers rolling across the floor, a sticky table full of weird games and signs, and a general feeling of American Horror Story by way of Little House on the Prairie. That's fine. You even expect that their idea of a good ol' American salad would have less vegetables than it does cheese and bacon. Fine. What is less expected is the low, low quality of the food overall. I ordered a ribeye, medium rare, that was less than half an inch thick. I'm pretty convinced that it was a flank steak that was cooked to a moment before it turned into leather, and it was about half fat. And because you order a truly repulsive, misleading, and yet more expensive steak, you somehow give up your right to the three sides that come with every meal. Can I call bullshit? Granted, the tiny mashed potato dollop was fine. My girlfriend's meal was just bland slop. She restrained her disappointment until we got to the car, at which point she screamed, with the windows rolled up so as not to offend the spirits of the colonial soldiers that still wander these hills, "OH MY GOD THAT WAS SO DISGUSTING!" Broke my heart....hoping third time was a charm. I am going to have to give up on trying to smear at this particular location. Third time showing up on a Tuesday night and having to wait 32 minutes for a seat. Actually I didn't get a seat. I left however prior to leaving I walked through the restaurant and counted 13 open (clean) tables all within the two open areas. I was told manager is working the kitchen so they would not be able to speak with me. I left and two other families followed. This is my first time here at Cracker Barrel , I have to say, the store front Gimmick, I like it. As soon as I walked in, I thought it was a store, I didn't know it was also a restaurant. So we walk in to put our Reservations and went outside to wait until they call us in. Where there was a Collection Rocking chair, that was so cool. So as soon as they called us. It was like jumping into the pass, all Collection of photo and items of the pass. I was like a Paparazzi with my Camera. So as soon as we sat down, our Waitress Tiffany came over to take our order.
