Literally sat for 10 minutes watching every server and hostess walk around our table, only stayed cause my wife had her heart set on this place. Terrible service and food came out cold. The line to get a table was an hour wait, ya figure with rocking chairs and pews out front to wait all you had to do was set up tables outside and start taking orders. Eric with the Governor Cuomo eyebrows turned this from a 3 star to a 4 star.because his service was funny, quick and got the order exactly right. The manager seemed to just be doing the rounds and no personality. There were to many people in the gift shop especially employees that weren't following social distancing but at least the bathrooms were cleaner then the last time I was here. The tables are starting to get worn out and scrapped up needing to be replaced. Then scary pictures of people looking at me and a deer head with spy camera in its eyes so the government can spy on us. We come here a few times a year. I love browsing through the shop while waiting to get called to be seated. We usually have our go-to orders: - Chicken fried chicken - deep fried chicken breast fillet topped with Sawmill Gravy I get fried okra, green beans and corn, buttermilk bicuits and corn bread (not pictured) - grilled pork chop with mac and cheese and green beans - lemon pepper grilled rainbow trout - lightly seasoned boneless spring water trout fillet grilled until fork tender. Had the sweet potato and sweet corn - 10 oz. rib eye steak - thick cut USDA choice rib eye aged 28 days. Lightly seasoned and grilled to order. Got the broccoli, corn and okra. Cooked Medium well - double chocolte fudge coca cola cake - served with vanilla icecream (not pictures) Everything's excellent here. I try to order different things each time. Went to this location on 4/15/2023. We ordered 2 orders of Southern Fried Chicken - tasteless and very dry. :( Their menu changed and very disappointing. Although it looks good, it tasted nasty, sour French toast, it taste like something was spoiled. I did not eat it. I took the chicken off the top and just ate the chicken. They did not bring any cornbread. I had to ask for it, and when they did bring it up is gross hard and flavorless so the only thing I liked was the black tea that was really good. read more

Cracker Barrel is amazing! It's worth the toll and 1-1.5 hour drive one way! Especially on a nice day with friends. I ordered everything you see, the pricing is very reasonable. Since it's so far and I can't go often u need to order everything. I also ordered fried shrimp but they didn't stand a chance The pancakes are always a must if you go, they are so good and the syrup which they sell is so good and unique, I haven't had a syrup that can equate. I have been wanting to dine at Cracker Barrel for a long time. I always thought Southern cooking had flavor but the food reminded me of hospital food. Service was quick but seriously my 90 yo mother cooks better and that isn't saying a lot. I'm not sure who they cater to but if you are looking for bland food this is the place to go. I thought this was Southern cooking. This is not making the South look good. The ambiance was a barn without the animals. To explain better it looked like a countrified version of TGIF. 6/19/22:My wife and I had a not so great meal at our local Cracker Barrel. The food came out cold, our pancakes were thin, and we were just disappointed with our entire meal. We didn't want to make a big deal about it because we just got off work and we needed to go to sleep. But our waitress, Jeanine I believe, (sorry if I got it wrong). Being the exceptional server that she is. Told the manager when we expressed our displeasure. The manager Mark made it right. And for that, I thank Mark and our waitress for the hospitality and customer service. For this reason, we will return to this Cracker Barrel. Close to two hours to get a meal... Granted the server was new so we were super understanding.... For the first hour. We spent about 6-8 minutes asking about ingredients but again the sever was new so some sausage snuck it's way on to my plate.... I was given an allergy menu which is written in maybe a 7pt font but in doesn't address what meats are included in dishes. Ordered a new dish that only had chicken and poultry based products. 2 HOURS TOTAL TIME.... Close to 40 minute wait for a chicken pot pie replacement meal. I never understood why people complained about this restaurant before because my experiences have been good. Tonight, I learned what others were dissatisfied with. My wife and I sat at our table for 20 minutes without the waitress so much as acknowledging us. Mind you, the place wasn't at all busy. She took care of two other tables that arrived after we did. She never made eye contact or did as much as say, "I'll be right with you." At the 20 minute mark, without ever having been given so much as a glass of water, we just got up and walked out. On our way to the door, I found the manager chatting it up with the store employees. Too bad she didn't bother to check on her dining patrons. After telling her what happened, she offered a very weak and uninterested "I'm sorry." There was no offer to make things right in any way. Adding insult to injury, I travel over an hour each way to go there because we like the food so much. That was a wasted trip. I've said before that no one should expect five-star service at at place like Cracker Barrel, but you do expect to have some actual service. Based on the one-star reviews you can find elsewhere on this site, I can tell that they don't care what any of us think. Maybe you'll have the type of positive experience I've had before, but just maybe you'll have the one I did tonight. As for me, it will be a very long time before I decide to give this place another chance. Like I said, they don't care whether I go or not. So be it. The place did not disappoint me. First, it has a cool store to browse and shop while on wait list for the restaurant. Second - upon looking on their menu - the food prices are incredibly fair. Third - the decor is adorably cute. Fourth - the rocking chair rocks. Fifth - food is satisfying, comforting and traditional. Sixth - there is more to breakfast. The host immediately left his station, purportedly to look for a table, but went straight into the kitchen and didn't come out. I finally found the manager, let him know the situation, and veeeeery suddenly, we had a table... but it was a table of 4 with a 5th chair. There was a half-empty dining room... so I asked politely and we got ourselves two tables pushed together. I mean, seriously? The manager and our server both deserve all the stars here. My mom and I have split meals here and it's been enough for the both of us. The prices are so inexpensive too. You walk into an old school store, selling a wide variety of odds and ends. From drinks to candy to clothes to household trinkets. Then theres the restaurant to the side. Not to busy at 4 pm. Our waiter was cool. His name is Nicolas. He was friendly, fast, always checking in on us. And was nice. Very apologetic when he forgot something, and was patient with our deciding what to order. So thanks Nicolas. Food wise, it's some old school cooking. Came with complimentary bread and corn bread, which was warm and tasted alright. I ordered their meatloaf which came with 3 sides. I chose their fried okra, baby carrots and french fries. Meatloaf was cooked well. A large slice. Tasted good. Not too salty. Tasted great with some ketchup. Sides were ok. Carrots were slightly sweet and soft. Fried okra were kinda hard. And french fries were so so. I was able to try their fried chicken and that tasted really good. Crisp and moist. But if I had ordered their pork chops solely, I would've given them 3 stars only. It was dry and bland. Not good at all. Food came out in about 10 min, ehich for entrees and sides was a nice surprise. Overall, I'm glad I came in. Food was good, some old school home cooking. The store gets a 6 star review! Always great stuff on hand and even some fabulous deals of clearance stuff. Every season is very well represented with great stuff in their store. The restaurant is good, and even great sometimes. It has gotten better in the past year. There are some servers who are over the top fabulous, and others who don't seem happy to have a job. You know how that goes. We're pretty easy going and laid back and we done out quite a bit, so we usually have fun with our servers. The food is good, not great, the atmosphere is fun, the tables could use a better wipe down between customers as your elbows stick many times. Although, if I do as my mom told me as a kid, "...no elbows on the table...", I'd never have noticed. Lol! We'll be back for sure, just because it's a cool place and the food is good. read more

Whether you're in the mood for breakfast at any hour of the day, or some biscuits and sawmill gravy........the menu is vast and the staff at any location I've ever visited has been very friendly. The gift shop also smells so good it makes you want to have a seat and relax for a while........it's also has plenty of retro candy from yesteryear to bring you back to a simpler time. Normally I love the food here. Today was a total disappointment. The eggs were undercooked. Showed the waitress and she took them back for over cooked burned and chopped eggs, pancakes we not done, catfish I asked to be cooked crispy because last time it was undercooked and they told me I needed to say crispy and well done. Didn't make that mistake this time yet it still was slimey in the middle and undercooked with grease on the outside. Gravy which they forgot had a film accross the top like it was sitting for a period of time. My son's meal was the only meal cooked properly. Manager came out and asked everyone in our section if the food was ok and walked passed our table. Waitress left us so long I was ready to go and over this whole horrible experience. Cute gift shop to browse while waiting with old fashioned candies, toys, seasonal things, clothing. During the pandemic. I tried having it delivered. Horrible experience. They included nothing. Have to ask for ketchup, a fork or a napkin. I ordered a burger and fries. There were literally 5 fries, that's it. Doesn't come with coleslaw or a pickle. It was just a burger, no fixin's and 5 fries. I feel like they know there is nothing you can do to complain because it was a delivery and a pain to have to call them back and have the problem fixed. For the price they charge, no deal. I do not order delivery from them, and order from the diner where there is an adequate portion that comes with coleslaw, a pickle, and ketchup. I never thought I would give Cracker Barrel a bad rating because I literally love this restaurant & I always get the same thing because it's the best, but post Covid it was a disappointment. My family & I came here & I always get the same thing, which is the catfish. Now on the menu it's suppose to be 2 pieces & it's always been that way. Now all of sudden post Covid (& it might just be this location, I have to go to another & see for myself) when you get the catfish it's cut up & not aesthetically pleasing to the eye. You can also tell it's one piece of fish, although the waiter tried to jazz it up saying it's two :-| it's without a doubt not two pieces. The waiter mentioned that they pay by ounces & that's how they receive it, which I also don't believe because fish is purchase by the pound. I totally understand Covid has hit restaurants & there might be a additional charge on your bill, or prices might've increased, but I believe in being honest. What they could've done is go up on the prices, although that's one of the things that make Cracker Barrel amazing, is the low prices & flavorful spot on tasting food. Cracker Barrel is affordable, southern style "home cooking" where the majority of the menu is probably not the most healthiest of choice. They're trying to fix that by offering more grilled items, such as fish and chicken, and even salads. I know getting the fried chicken tenders with potatoes and gravy and fried apples isn't the best choice, but where I come from the closest CB is 5 hours away in Phoenix, AZ and to me, the CBOCS is a treat! Paige did a decent job as our server. She refilled our drinks and was friendly enough. It's a great place for comfort food, and it's my favorite part.. its affordable! A entree with 2 sides is about $8, and you can get biscuits and/or cornbread with the meal. It's my go-to place when I'm outside California! read more

Another local eatery hitting us with shrinkflation. Same prices significantly smaller portions. Took an hour to be seated when told it would be 35 min wait time, then another hour for food to come out. Our server was fantastic, helpful and apologetic. It was Memorial Day and when I asked for a veteran discount manager Mark refused one. As a store the promotes Patriotism, one would expect more. Go elsewhere read more
