I want to do 3 stars, but my husband said the chicken tenders he had were literally the best he has ever had in his life, so that deserves another star! My food was good and very filling for the price, but nothing amazing. My daughters pancakes were just alright as well. The staff there was insanely kind as expected. I would give it zero stars if I could. We went there for dinner just now and half of the items I ordered they forgot to make and then when they brought it out finally it was cold and nasty like leftovers semi reheated. I understand we ordered breakfast at supper time but it says ALL DAY breakfast. I usually look forward to the hash brown casserole and it was NASTY. Also we ordered 2 orders of cheesecake stuffed pancakes and they were cold like they had been sitting out forever. What a waste of money. The service was not good either. We love Cracker Barrel's. They are kind, considerate, and cheerful people make you feel good on your road trip. They always have room for you in their parking lot no matter what your size we are a small RV but we have spent the night in several Cracker Barrel's with the big boys. We always spend money there because they are so kind. We can't say enough good things about their attitude and kindness. The nice thing is that the restaurant is right by a few hotels and the interstate. But I think that's the only reason it is busy. My wife and I spilt the Fish Fry Friday meal thinking it would be big enough. 4 pieces of fish sounds like a lot, right? These were about as small as frozen fish filets you buy at the store. The mashed potatoes were so-so and I make better gravy at home. We got about 10 pieces of fried okra and rolls. This was all for $15. Our kids got just as much food on the kids meal for half the price. They were very busy and our waitress was very distracted. I'd go down the highway a bit for food if you can. read more

This review is for the manager Ben: I was driving cross country, moving from San Diego to Rhode Island, and stopped here for some dinner. I must have dropped my wallet in the parking lot and discovered I had lost it when I reached Oklahoma. I called the next morning to see if anyone had turned it in, and no one had. I spoke to Manager Ben. I then called back a few hours later to leave my name and number just in case. Ben didn't have to take my information down, but he did. A few hours later I get a call from Ben and he said someone had found my wallet!! He didn't hesitate to FedEx it to me, which was extremely kind. The food here is great. The customer service is great. And, as you can see, they really go above and beyond for their customers, even going as far as mailing a wallet back to a customer. I have been to Cracker Barrels in other cities and like them. This one was pretty much the same. I came here for Thanksgiving a month ago and the food was pretty good although I think they could have given a little more of it for the price. The atmosphere was fine. There was, of course, a long wait, at least an hour and a half because it was Thanksgiving. I got a lot of knitting done while I waited, LOL. The only problem I really had was that the waitress came up to my table and announced, oh, it's just you? You're all by yourself? Now, I eat out by myself all the time and don't have a problem with it but I don't particularly need to have it pointed out to me in earshot of the people around me. Thanks heaps. It sort of added a sour note to the ambiance. The girl who rang me up at the end was very nice and I spotted a beautiful tote bag hanging behind the counter which I ended up buying. You can't have too many tote bags. They always seem to have beautiful ones and often on sale. Plus they are sturdy and huge. So I left happy. read more

You've been to one, you'll been to them all. The food is good and constant. This time I had the Grandmas Sampler. The presentation was DEFINITELY lacking. The food was good, but we did have to wait forever for someone to come and take our order as well as the wait for the food. Our waitress checked on us a couple of times, and refilled our coffee. I had the grandmas sampler The ham was thin but good, the bacon was crumpled and fatty( but I normally eat turkey bacon so I may be biased) the pancakes weren't thick but they were a good size. He had the country boys breakfast with unlimited hashbrown casserole. She only came to bring him one. The food is good, you only ever take a gamble on service level. We went here on Wednesday morning. It doesn't matter the time of day I am going to get breakfast. They have revamped their breakfast menu and now there are more options. I got the Grandma's Sampler with grits and French toast as the sides. It was delicious and so was the coffee. The only complaints we had were the wait on coffee and water refills(they were not busy) and the French toast was just toast with powder sugar and a dollop of butter on top. I thought I was mistaken until I took a bite of my french toast and it tasted the same without powder sugar. I told the waiter and he said that is how their French toast is which I know it's not because of the other times I have ordered it, but maybe they messed with the recipe. Our waiter swapped it for the pancakes and they were perfect. We will be back, I just will never order the French toast again. The rest of the food was also yummy. read more

Excited to go to this restaurant because I hadn't been to one years and had good memories of the last visit. My food was so/so, had fried fish with mashed potatoes. Fish was good, mashed potatoes should have been used for wallpaper glue. BUT, my traveling partner ordered a Chicken Ceaser Salad. What could go wrong? Before first bite, he fortunately turned over a slab of parmesan cheese that was green with mold! He returned the salad very politely and the waiter returned saying their whole stock of cheese was moldy! My partner lost his appetite and you would have thought they'd comp his soda, but no. I had hot tea for a drink and the waiter never returned once to check to see if anything else was needed, and I would have loved more hot water. read more

We have been stopping at this Cracker Barrel for quite some time on our way to Decatur. Service and food have always been top notch. Unfortunately, breakfast this morning was terrible. I ordered the sourdough French toast...it was dry, hard and cold. Absolutely disappointing. My husband's sausage and bacon were well undercooked. Our server was accommodating, however, he was also very distracted. The gal who delivered our meal was the rudest young lady, I have come across in a long time...basically dropped off the food, asked if there was anything else and before I could finish speaking she just walked off. After traveling all day on my own with the kids, we stopped here to grab a bite before going to the hotel. Thinking we had made it in the nick of time, we were sadly turned back at the door at 8:55 by an employee who said "sorry, we are closed." This restaurant advertises that they are open until 9pm, so I was confused and disappointed, but she offered no explanation. I have worked in the restaurant industry, and remember how insistently my general manager kept the doors open until the posted closing time--never turning away a customer even at the last minute. Oh my God I have to say these are the nicest people I have ever met. And this is something that's pretty consistent throughout the chain. But it seemed like these people were a little extra nice. I didn't eat in the dining room, but I did order our Thanksgiving dinner which we picked up on the day before and then heated it up on the day of at home. The food was very good and we had leftovers. Stopped by to fuel up before a long drive. I've been to several Cracker Barrels in the past, and this one did not disappoint. We shared a large breakfast platter and a pancake. The breakfast platter was good. It was nice to get a chance to sample everything. The pancake was super fluffy and had a nice, slight crust that really added a nice crispness. All the regular culprits are available in larger towns right on the interstate.. Denny's, ihop, and what we've chosen this fine day, The Cracker Barrel. It's really hit or miss, but today, as we were departing Amarillo Texas, this one was a hit! Service was great, staff friendly, no wait, no issue, fair price. My wife had nice fluffy pancakes with peaches and some eggs and bacon. All we tasty. I had something different though. I had them use Egg Beaters and turkey bacon. I like that I could use that healthier option as a substitute! With the lowered fat and calories of those items, I went ahead and indulged myself in some French toast with a twist. I noticed as I walked in a special written on the board... Then got to the table and saw the insert... It's seasonal, but while it lasts GET IT... Some kinda French toast Carmel apple fusion .... I dunno. It's creaking delicious! Looooved it. If the Cracker Barrel in your town is decent, then go there tomorrow for breakfast. Get that Apple whatever French toast. read more
