Another day of driving and sightseeing through Texas and it's another night in our campervan at the Cracker Barrel followed by a big breakfast. Yes, Cracker Barrel allows overnight parking for the #RVlife people and that's awesome. We arrived, parked up and pretty much went straight to sleep. In the morning, we were inside just after 7am for French Toast and basted eggs and biscuits. A fabulous filling breakfast and we enjoyed every bit of it. I made a to go order through the app there this evening and once we finally got the order after some mishap with the app, we took the order home. I had ordered chicken and dumplings. The dumplings looked like they had sat there all day. They looked old and had come scraped from the bottom of the pan. They were completely yellow and crusty. I did not even see any meat, albeit, after calling the unprofessional manager, Jaime, who clearly couldn't care less, I didnt search for chicken that would have probably given me food poisoning from being out all day anyway. When the manager was called, he wasn't any help but did say, I could come back up there and have my meal replaced. It's after 10 o'clock at night, and it would still be the same old food, now just older and I chose not to go out of my way to go back there, for a problem that was clearly and entirely not my fault. I asked him to replace my money. He said he could not do that, unless I came back up there. He was very rude in general and would not give me a district manager's number or email or anywhere where I could get ahold of somebody other than corporate. I definitely would not recommend this place and their management needs additional training on how to keep their customers satisfied, much less happy. This manager is obviously there to babysit the evening shift, as he definitely doesn't know anything about customer service. I have been going to Cracker Barrel for over 30 years and this will probably be the last time I go and definitely the last time for this restaurant itself. I ordered a combo item with two of the same thing. The restaurant refused to fill the order. Said they couldn't because their computer couldn't handle it. The wait staff clearly couldn't think that the way out of it was to put the order in so the computer would take it and tell the kitchen how to handle the special order. I sat for 10-15min while my server was chitchatting with the table next to me before she even greeted me. Then I found out that I wasn't allowed to substitute anything on the Thanksgiving meal. First time to Fort Worth. Just off the plane and getting some breakfast. This place was great. Not crowded (we went at around 8:30 am on a weekday. We were seated promptly and the service was great. Tried the Pancake Tacos. Very good. Very interesting take on eating breakfast! The ambience is very chill, casual. Our waitress was very friendly and hospitable. Our server Hannah was good. Everything else was awful. Probably one of the worst experiences I've had at Cracker Barrel. The manager was out in the dining room essentially doing nothing. Cold, tasteless food equal to the institutional cooking nightmare of your choice. The flavor and presentation of a hot Turkey and Dressing plate has left the room. Water thin gravy, stamped biscuit passing as "homemade" and above all everything was served slightly warmer than room temperature which turned cold quickly. The roasted turkey was roasted sometime during it's life but this one tasted old, cooked then frozen then heated up again in an aluminum pan. Do not waste your money here. Those days of Grandma's cooking are gone and that's a sad conclusion. read more

Ok... In full disclosure, I have eaten at CB many times in the past, but never posted a review. That said, here is the one for Burleson (2nd time eating at this location). I ordered the momma's special. 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, 3 bacon. So, let's knock the pancakes out of the way right away..... On point! (just needed an extra butter for my taste) Loved the individual syrup bottles! Ok, now to the eggs and bacon. The eggs were a tad undercooked (O/E instead of the O/M that I ordered and did not have any seasoning. The bacon also lacked seasoning. This may have been the first time that I had to add salt to this sweet and savory item! So. Very close to a 4 star rating but I did want to point those things out to ya... enjoy! read more

Wow, this location was a huge disappointment. (I'm not picky either). I'm very familiar with Cracker Barrel and this is the only one I've been to that was terrible. The food AND the service were 1 star quality. The chicken tenders were so dry and tasted as if they had been sitting out all day. We wasted our food because it wasn't worth eating. read more

My kids just love shopping at the store and looking at the candies and toys. We enjoyed the biscuits with blackberry jam. We had lunch during the week it was one of their slow days. I had ordered the white cheese bites and they were delicious but few. The food was ok. The service was ok. I guess they just forgot our drinks. read more

Well went to this place yesterday with my family two babies 1 and 2 years olds and the wait was horrible it was very windy and chilly outside so it's not like we could go sit outside and wait and obviously nowhere to sit inside. We finally get seated and It took the server a good 10-15 min to go to our table. After that he was pretty attentive but we had to remind him about a couple things he forget to bring us that weee part Of our meals. I had their chicken fried chicken breakfast with scrambled eggs and their hash brown casserole which is the only reason they got 3 stars instead of 1, the chicken was juicy and i enjoyed it as well but the gravy omg that is a crime! We are disappointed because we come often to eat breakfast here. We have had Kristi about 3 times and the service is not good. She should only take a few tables if she is not able to attend to everyone properly. We understand that it is busy but she completely disregarded us. A couple sat down 10 minutes after us and got their food before us. They were being served by a different waiter. By the time they got up to pay we finally got our food it was cold.. (we got our food 40 min after ordering and you could tell it was sitting out for a while) Besides bringing our drinks she never came to check on us to reassure we were not forgotten until she knew the manager was aware of the situation. Well, this CB has always been a go-to for me. I don't care where I'm at, if I'm craving some double meat biscuits, pancakes, crispy fried chicken, the rasperberry tea or any of their tasty goodness, I've always tended to wait until I can get near this CB. Although this CB is one of my faves, I was recently shocked at their protocols, or lack their of, regarding COVID. As hubby and I waited to be seated we noticed that they had created an outdoor eating area. I thought that was convieient. However, people were talking, waiting to be seated right by your food. Now, the last time Hubbs and I visited was a few months ago, so, hopefully things changed for the better since then. read more

I really hate reviewing chains but I have to. We ordered take out for breakfast. I'm so surprised at the small portions. I remember Cracker Barrell in my younger years as always leaving me full. The good: everything was packed well. Hash born casserole, although cold is always the bomb. Order was ready as soon as we walked in. They followed all ordering directions. The bad: cold. We ate our order within 20 mins of making it and everything was super cold. Not cool, not lukewarm.... Cold. I love grits but they just aren't as good as I remember them. Such little flavor. Is it normal for the country ham to be mostly fat and a 2 square inch of actual meat? I am never coming back here again, partially because I don't live anywhere near the Fort Worth Dallas area but mainly because the food was at most edible. The Louisiana Style Shrimp Skillet is overly salty and tangy and the fried apples were extremely sweet, a dentist's nightmares (literally pure sugar is less sweet than these apples). The corn bread, which we had to ask for despite it being complementary was dry and unpleasant. Other members of my party also did not enjoy the food. The restaurant was also pretty loud making it hard to hear conversation at our table. It also took a while to be seated, this was understandable as we were a large party of fourteen however another party of about four with an elderly woman also waited for a while. The waitress (Sookie) was nice and pleasant though. The bathrooms were clean enough and the store seemed have some nice things in it. Have returned here many times and find that current management has raised the standards in all areas. I've had melt in your mouth roast beef, fried white fish, chicken pot pie, and (my favorite) chicken and dumplings. I don't think I've ever left a yelp review, but I had to come on here & leave one today. Makayla was our server this morning. She was very attentive, our food and drinks came out fairly quick, & even pre bussed our table before we left. I asked for a bowl of fruit for my 18 month old & she literally brought it back within seconds..!! We never had to ask for more refills, she came by often to make sure we had a full cup of coffee throughout our breakfast. I also am a server & have been in the restaurant industry for about 10 years. & Makayla was literally the nicest & most polite server I've everrrrr had. This was my first time ever having an issue. We can right after the lunch rush. The chicken was very dry and the meatloaf was too. The tasted as if it had been refried. I always got the turnup greens every time that I have gone and this time they had no flavor and the cornbread is usually to die for and it was so hard that I ended up just eating the inside of the cornbread. 3, middle of the field not good not bad. Here's why. The good, some of the best homestyle cooking anywhere. Great portions, served fresh and hot. But ( there always is one) Service is kinda not there, you'll get what you order, barely. Here's your drinks ( don't expect a refill) Here's your food ( they have no clue who gets what) Here's your ticket ( please go away, you're dead to me) Please fill my glass, check on me, ask me if I am ready for the ticket, offer a desert. That's how you raise your ticket average and make customers happy. The kitchen is doing a great job, the wait staff is killing sales. Twice my family has gone here, both times we really wanted desert but since the waitress was in such a hurry we left rather than bother with it. I would give this location no stars if it was an option. We were seated and watched another party get seated and were immediately asked what they wanted to drink. We never had one server even acknowledge our presence. I asked to speak to the manager and she listened to my complaint and I advised her we were leaving and her response was " have a nice day" What is wrong with the world ?
