On Friday May 1st I hosted a graduation dinner for my daughter who just graduated collage at Mimi's in Arlington off I20. Prior to the manager Emily was so sweet and very accommodating to every request. She answered all my questions and wanted to make this event was special for my daughter. On the day of arrival, I got to meet Emily in person as she greeted me with a warm smile, a wonderful greeting and introduced us to our server for the evening whose name was Itzel. Itzel worked so hard for this party of 15 and made sure everyone had just what they needed and asked for, she did this with a smile and total sweetness. The reserved room we booked was sweet, neat and perfect for the gathering. The food was prompt and arrived warm at every table. Emily the manager came through on multiple occasions to check on us and also severed whenever needed. My friend and I went to Mimi's Cafe after making a quick stop over at Cavendar's Boot City, and figured it would be a good place to get lunch. Our server Briana was amazing with her service in making sure our drinks got toped off and offered recommendations to my friend who was indecisive on what to order. The food was great in presentation and taste, and it was a good portion that was perfect. I had the Citrus Salmon Salad, and water with lemon, and my friend ordered a sandwich with Corn Chowder Soup. The dining room was spacious with simple decorative elements on the wall with a tiled pattern floor. Everything was clean and finished plates were promptly pickup by our server. When I am on the Southwest side of town for lunch, I'll be sure to ask for Briana if she is working. She's a great team member to be part of the Mimi's Cafe staff. Last night I looked on the website of Mimi's Cafe in Fort Worth Texas and saw the Mixed Berry Crapes on the menu. This is why I come to this "French" restaurant. I don't even have to look at the menu, I KNOW WHAT I WANT! So, I told her and her response was , "They are no longer in the menu." WHAT???? They were on the website last night. And, who in the right mind would take crapes off a French menu? Ended up ordering oatmeal, what an alternative . I would have rated zero stars if I could have! All six of us at the table, three couples, said we won't be returning! Besides the food, the men's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It was Black Friday, when they opened at 7 AM, and we were the first customers seated. My husband went into the bathroom and toilet paper on the floor in the stall, paper towels on the floor and the trash can was full! Shouldn't the bathrooms have been cleaned before they opened? Then a worker (we know this because they went through the back entrance) at the restaurant was flying through the parking lot to get to work because it was 7 o'clock, probably running late, and almost hit our truck when my husband was backing into a parking space. They swerved behind a backing truck and my husband had to slam on his brakes. They were just inches away from causing an accident, then they would have been late! read more

Do. Not. Eat. Here. I'm not kidding. Just don't even bother. We were a party of five that had a 10:30 reservation for Mother's Day. We arrived five minutes early, which means we were on time. Our party included two mothers that were being celebrated. Even with reservations, we waited 35 minutes to be seated. What is the point of having reservations if you don't seat the guests on time? Somehow, another group of five that came in after us got seated before us. Even other parties without reservations got seated before us. We complained, and the hostess rushed to seat us at a table that they were still in the middle of cleaning. The table wasn't ready. We had no silverware, napkins or server. Just two tables pushed together, one of which had screws loose such that the top kept wobbling around. The aforementioned family of five that was seated before us was actually next to us, and in a similar predicament. The mom in that family went and scouted out paper cocktail napkins, and the grandmother went and found silverware for 8 people. They were kind enough to share what they had with us. My husband went to look for more silverware, but was told that they were out. How does a restaurant run of silverware? And why are the guests having to go hunt it down? On Mother's Day? Really?! I got up to look for a manager, but our server finally showed up to take our order. I told her we needed more silverware and asked her to send the manager over. The manager just so happened to be the woman cosplaying hostess at the door. Now you know there is something amiss when the hostess is also the manager. She acknowledged that things were busy but seemed clueless about how to fix it, so all she did was apologize profusely. In terms of the food, my Salomon Eggs Benedict, was fine. A bit too salty with both smoked salmon and capers, but otherwise decent, and the egg was appropriately poached. My husband and daughter (who ordered the same thing) had hard boiled eggs on theirs Eggs Benedict . HARD. BOILED. My father ordered an Avocado Bacon Omelette that came out without avocado. I ordered a half waffle on the side and it didn't come out either. I had to hunt down the server about these issues. She apologized and had them brought out about 10 minutes after our meals arrived. The waffle was cold and soggy. My father's avocado slices were fine but at this point his omelette was also cold. While all this was going on we noticed that other people around us received fancy black cloth napkins while we (and the table of five who were seated before us) were still rocking paper napkins. The five of us requested two separate tabs, but the bill came out on one tab with some random boxed muffins we didn't order. I guess they were the consolation prize for our Hunger Games like experience. As the bill was being sorted out, the five at the other table got up to leave, wished us luck and hoped our day got better. To sum it up, three mothers divided between two tables had to bus their own table on our "special" day. And oh yeah, no one at the restaurant wished anyone a Happy Mother's Day. We definitely won't be going back for Father's Day or any other day for that matter. read more

Decided to try on a whim back from a trip. We were looking for a soft food to eat on our hangover stomach. The service was ok, not bad but not amazing, very neutral. The atmosphere was quiet and slow so that helped with the headache. My partners food was good, the turkey royal was not what we were expecting but the tomato basil soup was phenomenal plus the fries! We had a wonderful Valentine's lunch at Mimi's. They were not busy so we got extra attention. Our server Keenan always makes us feel at home and he is very attentive. Mimi's is a quaint French restaurant that's nicely decorated. We got the 3 course meal: I ordered Tomato Basil soup which was rich and velvety, Spinach Artichoke dip which tasted fresh with Parmesan cheese and for the main course; Turkey, dressing, broccoli and rice pilaf; it was delicious. My Valentine had Onion soup which was very tasty, Chicken Parmesan; the chicken was nicely breaded and crispy, the pasta was tender with a rich tomato sauce then for dessert chocolate lava cake, Butter rum bread pudding with is addictive and chocolate covered strawberries ( we took the dessert home) Mimi's is a great place for a date night or friends night. read more

Salmon Eggs Benedict and corned beef hash were both quite good. Our server was attentive and checked on us several times, although there were no offers to refill the coffee cups, which was okay since I had a couple of cups at home! Everything on the menu looked wonderful and we had no complaints about what we settled on to eat. Service was very personable and attentive, though the restaurant was largely empty on a Saturday afternoon aside from my party and one other. It's very quiet but the decor was quaint and homey. Can't go wrong with this spot if you're wanting an American no-fail breakfast/brunch. Great location, great service, plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and traditional dishes. Only reason we docked a star was due to the time we waited for our meal to come out. Stopped in for a Sunday brunch. Immediately greeters when we entered and quickly seated. Jesse was our waiter and quickly attended to us and was happy, friendly, and helpful. We ordered a mocha and a traditional mimosa. Let me say, I've been sleeping on these mimosas - probably one of the better ones I've had for brunch, hands down. Orange juice was very fresh, not overly sweet and the champagne was on point, served in a mini bottle. Had to order two more, they were that good. We ordered the Classic Benedict and bacon avocado omelette (with peppers & onions added). I wanted a small side of French toast, however there is no "side" order of this, it would have been $13.99 according the our server. I thought this was unfortunate - I came hoping for plain French toast and not having that option that was an entire plate was disappointing Our food promptly came out with no issues. All in all, great service from our server and delicious food. Definitely will be back with the girls for brunch mimosas. read more

It's thanksgiving day and this is the first year, my sister and I are without our mother. She was the glue of the family and the holidays have been looking so bleak. We worked today as servers. We work together. When we got home, we expected to order pizza or something and not experience the holidays. Thanks to Mimi's Cafe, we got to experience the ambiance of the holiday this year. On Mother's Day this happened! We had a 10 am reservations for a party of 6 arrived a few mins. early & they were cleaning our table is what we were told! Hell they couldn't have, we walked back to the back room & on the table they were trying to seat us at had the BIGGEST cockroach I've seen! They cleaned it again, but I couldn't eat at that table. They overbooked which has been insane considering I drove an hour to be here to meet my son halfway Obviously the management is awful. No restaurant I know would EVER let this happen. The same thing happened last year and I said I would never come back, but I gave it another try and it happened again. My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of choosing Mimi's Cafe for a cozy, Sunday evening date night. Our server for the evening was Keenan and when I tell you he handled not only us, but his ENTIRE section with the most wonderful attitude and EXCELLENT speed of service. We started with the spinach artichoke dip (and a DELICIOUS spiked strawberry lemonade for a cocktail)and it is simply a MUST ORDER for us now. Creamy, cheesy and served with crisp crustinis', it was unlike any we had experienced before. For entrees I selected the pot roast and my wife, the breakfast burrito. The meat was so tender I ate my entire portion with a SPOON because a fork is simply not needed. My wife is probably breakfast food's biggest fan but even so I've NEVER seen her devour an ENTIRE breakfast burrito like this one. Savory, cheesy, fluffy. massive and absolutely everything you could ask for in a breakfast burrito, this is the KEY to curing a Sunday morning hangover. To finish our evening we indulged in the crème brûlée, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! Never will I EVER cheat on Mimi's with another crème brûlée. This spot was not nearly as busy as it should've been, which added to the ambience for date night for us, but they truly deserve so much more business. The hostess was the sweetest, most gorgeous girl ever and Keenan was so polite, cheerful, funny and kept us attended to, while also allowing us our time to enjoy each other's time.
