Cracker Barrel - Good Meal, Great Service As you can see from my past reviews, it's been quite some time since I've written an update -- though we've eaten here a few times since then. We just hadn't had a meal worth mentioning until this visit. My wife and I took a drive down to Lexington Park and decided to stop into Cracker Barrel for dinner and to exchange a shirt she had purchased for me a few days earlier. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon, but we were greeted quickly by a nice young man who took our drink orders right away. My wife ordered the Maple Bacon Chicken with mac and cheese, and I went with the Fried Chicken Sandwich and fries. Our server was attentive, kept our drinks filled, and was friendly to chat with -- it helped that things weren't overly busy at that moment, so he had some time to check in. Overall, the meal was good and the service made the experience even better. I'm sure we'll be back -- my wife enjoys browsing the store up front, which always has a unique mix of gifts, clothing, and seasonal items. read more

Cracker Barrel was open at 7 AM for breakfast on Easter morning. We were among the few in the restaurant at that time. The other folks were probably skipping church, but we were taking in breakfast before a long ride home to New York. We were quickly seated at a very large table to accommodate our group of seven. Our server was wonderful. He took our orders and got our food out to us lickety-split. And speaking of the food, we all indulged in the big breakfast. My favorite is the old-fashioned with biscuits, sausage, gravy, and eggs. After a very satisfying breakfast, we all got back on the road and said goodbye to Leonardtown Maryland. read more

The last 4 times I have went to this establishment, they have been out of what I wanted. Today, they are out of Camp Fires, napkins and at one time a 40 minute wait on mashed potatoes. We left this time as is a continuous problem. We use to like them, but they definitely need new management! read more

Food is good, coffee seemed watered down, portions are good. Menu has changed drastically. The service depends heavily on the experience level of your server. The decor and seating still the same. The gift shop is still the same with all the interesting stuff. It's a good breakfast option for 2-4 for five or more you will probably wait longer even if you get on the waitlist. read more

Stopped here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. My group (party of 4) was seated immediately. Our waitress took our drinks order, then we proceeded to wait approximately 7-9 minutes for our drinks. Then we ordered our food. The food came out in a relatively quick manner. But that's where things started going south. The basket of biscuits contained an opened and half used packet of butter. Our waitress ended up spilling some coffee on my husband. We asked for napkins... got 3 napkins for 4 people. The smoked sausage was not good. The eggs were literally tasteless. The French toast was shockingly small. The gravy was lackluster at best. Then our waitress overcharged us and had to reprint our check. Just overall a disappointing visit. read more

I went to the Cracker Barrel for a breakfast. I have gone there on several occasions as a treat to myself and my wife. this visit was not anyway what I expected. My wife ordered French Toast as well as an egg fried. she didn't expect the large breakfast but ate it anyway. it must have been okay. I think she want a smaller amount but such is life. Then it came to my order two eggs and sausage. first the eggs were slightly cool not hot, the sausage were burnt and not at all good. I didn't tell the waitress anything because she didn't appear to be very concerned. I may be just a little upset and overkill. however, I went there for something special and the only thing special was the $30 bill for two eggs sausage, four slices if French toast and two cups of EXPENSIVE COFFEE . it was not a special anything. read more

A great go-to breakfast place on a random Saturday morning. At 10AM, the place was packed but service was fast and super friendly so we were seated immediately. Coffee came in almost immediately, server was delightful and asked for our orders. Food came in steaming warm. Their pancakes, I have to say was prepared exactly the way I wanted. It was soft and chewy and it was slightly toasted at the bottom. So, as you bite into it, you have the surprising crunch. I asked for butter, butter, and more butter and was provided with more than enough. Will I go back to this one in Hollywood, MD? Definitely! read more

Went in for quick, easy dinner. Missed the rush, so they prob sent most staff home, but it was still only 6:30. Waitress must have been new. She only had 2 tables and must've come in and out of kitchen 15 times with one thing at a time, only after being reminded. Food was pretty bad, didn't have collard greens, so we got canned green beans with no flavor, out of corn bread, so we got biscuits without butter, then she brought butter, but had no silverware-they were bagging that. Chicken was dry so asked for some gravy and got that horrible school paste gloppy goo. Not a good experience at all. Won't be returning. Ambience as expected. read more

I arrived with 6 coworkers for breakfast around 0730 on Tuesday. We were sat promptly at a large round table. The waitress was efficient and took care of us in a timely manner. All of the drinks and food came out accurately. We all got separate checks which didn't seem to cause an issue. Some of the breakfast meat was rather dry in my "Grandma's breakfast platter". Other than that it was good. I ordered a togo meal for my husband who was stuck teleworking back at the hotel. The order was packaged properly and accurate. You can't beat the prices. I'm sorry to leave a negative review for a Cracker Barrel but it is necessary. it's been a couple of years since we last ate here, and I've never had a bad Cracker Barrel experience, in any State, prior to this morning. Positives-my husband and I were seated quickly on a busy Sunday morning, 8:30AM, and our waitress was pleasant. Negatives-"sorry, but we are out of sausage this morning, so you could chose bacon or ham." Hot biscuits and gravy were brought to the table, but the meal did not arrive for another 15 - 20 min, so the gravy got cold. My side was incorrect, and my eggs (ordered fried) were scrambled, kind of but not exactly. As we got up to leave, the table next to us received there food with 2 nice sausage patties on each plate????? I haven't been to this location in a while. Today, my husband and I decided to have breakfast before work. It was pretty quiet due to the time we chose to go. Our server was the lovely Ms. Crystal. She was very attentive and provided great service. The food was good. We had the build your own breakfast (scrambled eggs, grits, chicken sausage) and the Grandmas French Toast sampler. Our eggs were a little too soft ( I did asks for them to be scrambled hard). Other than that, no issues with the food. But the star of our breakfast was the Strawberry Mimosas. First of all if you are hispanic i recommend another restaurant. They seem to give you cold food no silverware and when you ask for corn bread they don't have any. I had to talk to the rude manager that seemed to care less about the food and service. The waitress asked if the manager talked to us about bill? Curbside Pickup: We ordered online the other evening and enjoyed the meals. My wife ordered the Roast Beef meal and she said it was good but was disappointed with the portion size. Of course there wasn't a weight description on the menu but the photo showed 3 pieces of Roast Beef and she only received one. My Chicken Fried Chicken was great as usual. I'm definitely a fan of the newer chicken batter. When I arrived I called the restaurant to check in because I wanted to order extra gravy for both dishes and when ordering online there isn't a option to order extra. After speaking with the young man on the phone he told me that I had to go inside to pay for the extra gravy. After going inside there was some confusion of exactly what I wanted and if I had to pay for extra gravy or not,,which I didn't. Overall it was still a good experience and the staff were helpful and courteous. We will return again when the craving hits us again. read more

I am so disappointed with this restaurant. Over a year ago I stopped in to have breakfast, well I had forgotten why I don't eat at this place and stopped in on Friday (08/04/2023) for a late am breakfast. I ordered the old timer's breakfast with smoked sausage and added bacon and plain hashbrowns. What was good: Coffee & Water Bacon biscuits were warm What was bad: Eggs were cool (not hot) smoked sausage warm but were very overcooked (hard) like they had been in the warmer for all day plain hashbrowns came out as loaded hashbrowns and were under cooked crunchy onions mixed in the gravy was cold and the gravy tastes horrible cold the biscuits were warm but did not come with butter or jelly. Jelly was provided after asking. The food at Cracker Barrel has always been a bit bland / boring stereotypical American cuisine, however at other Cracker Barrels the food was always hot, fresh, and dependable. Currently I'd have to say, you're better off eating somewhere else. read more

Last time I come to this particular location. After sitting my husband, 3 year old, and myself down at the table they proceed to tell us that it will be an hour wait to get our food, oh and that they have absolutely no bread left of any kind. Don't you all think you should tell your customers this before you sit them down? Unreal. Walked out and went to Bob Evans. So much better. We had a group of 15 after a soccer game on a Sunday morning, and assumed there would be a long wait. We kept checking the wait time online and it would go between 0-5 minutes. Upon arrival, we asked if they could just seat us all in the same general area. They were able to setup a table for the 8 adults, and right next to us, 7 kids. We only waited about 5 minutes! A friend and I stopped here for breakfast, and when we went to leave, we went into the country store to look around,and we found so many cute things that we would have bought, but unfortunately the lady "Jacqueline" followed us around the store. Literally followed us, and it made me so uncomfortable. Not only that, but she sat people behind us, but they were so close to us that I had to stand up and put my food in the to go containers just so another lady could get in her seat. Their was no way we both would have been able to sit in at our tables had I not gotten up. I know Cracker Barrel catches a lot of heat as being inconsistent but I have to say that I've eaten at various locations and have never had a negative experience or at least one that they weren't willing to own up to and correct to my satisfaction. The food is generally fresh, seasoned and timely. Quality of servers are like most places, excellent, decent or bad but I tend to rate their staff in the good/decent range. So if you're in the mood for a really decent breakfast & southern dishes you should give them a try. read more

I have been a regular patron for years. I would go for lunch with work colleagues and often with family. I rarely got out of the gift shop without spending 150.00. Recently, things have changed. The past three or four times we have dined , we have had major problems. Today we went in for lunch and waited almost an hour for our food. I ordered an egg sandwich and my fiancé ordered hash brown casserole. Everyone around us ordered and got their food, ate and left. We had drinks but no biscuits and our waitress stood at the door to the kitchen most of the time. I assumed she would grab our food the moment it was ready. After 40 minutes I began to think our order was lost. After a while longer, it finally arrived. By this point there were many empty tables. The family next to us had just been seated and already had a big basket of biscuits and drinks. We received our lunch, stone cold, and a basket with two burnt biscuits. Burnt. It's the first time I've ever even seen a burnt biscuit at a Cracker Barrel and we had two of them. Our waitress dropped the food without saying anything. I asked if the kitchen had lost our order. She said she had just been very busy, she had two other tables. I doubt they faired any better than we did because I mostly saw her just standing in the kitchen. She was walking away without asking if we needed anything else. I had ordered a side of Hollandaise sauce, which didn't arrive, and I called after her to let her know. She acknowledged me and was leaving again when my fiancé called out for ketchup. She was gone in a flash and at that point we realized our food was completely cold. She never came back. We waited 10 minutes and my fiancé went to the cashier to have her send a manager over. He came over to apologize and said it was busy except it wasn't anymore. At this point I am starving and willing to eat cold food. I still didn't have my sauce. Our waitress was standing by the kitchen doing nothing. He walked over and asked her for the sauce. She brought it over without saying anything. The worst part is it tasted strange, like a chemical. I was afraid to eat it. I left the restaurant starving with only a burnt biscuit to eat. I wish this was an isolated incident but that pretty standard for our last three Orr four visits. Needless to say we will never return and we will tell everyone we know not to bother going there. What a shame. I'm sure some of the people in that business work hard. It only takes a few poor employees to ruin it for everyone. read more

If I could give less that one star I would! Went there for dinner on Sunday October 29th at 6:30 PM. My wife and I were quickly seated and given two menus by the hostess Audrey. Well, we sat and waited and waited and finally after not being waited on for 20 minutes, my wife decided to go to the lady's room. When she returned, she said that she told Audrey that we had been waiting for 20 minutes and her response was "Oh" and nothing more. My wife then asked "aren't you going to apologize and Audrey said "sorry". She just stood there and did nothing so my wife said "well, we're leaving" and came and got me. We are in MD from CA visiting my son and my niece who lives in VA. I wanted my younger son to experience Cracker Barrel. Because it was pretty good the one time I ate there in IL. I can't eat a whole lot so ordered a smaller plate of food. It said it had 1 egg, a sausage patty and a biscuit. I get my food and the sausage was the size of a silver dollar and pretty dry. I asked the server if that is how it is supposed to look? She said yes! That's why it's only $5!! I told her the sausage was over cooked. She then asked if I wanted bacon instead. I said ok. So she gets a Napkin off the table to grab it off my plate. So I told her never mind. I wish I took a picture of it! It was HORRIBLE!! And she was rude. All of our food was crappy. My boys got grandpas chicken fried steak. And my niece got the French toast. I don't recommend this place at all!! Bad first time experience for my son thinking it would be good. I would have got more for my money if I got a sausage McMuffin at McDonald's. Would have tasted way better too! read more

I have been visiting this location for 26 years . I will never visit this location again . I ordered the basic biscuits and gravy and got hard biscuits delivered to my table . The first mistake was the cook putting them on the plate, the second mistake was the server putting it on the table . That's the last mistake they will ever make read more

I downloaded Yelp just so I could leave this review for this place! DO NOT GO TO THIS Cracker Barrel! I am not one to do these kinds of things and I will give a restaurant a chance to fix their problems but apparently this place just gets worse. This will be the last time we will visit this restaurant. It's really unfortunate because there are not many options for good quality food down here St. Mary's. On this last occasion, we were sat right away with no wait, even though both the waitress and manager both said "we are really busy" as you will see later on in this review. The waitress came right over and took our drink orders. She promptly brought over our drinks but no biscuits. What happened to biscuits and corn bread being brought right away? I've asked that exact question to the management on several occasions and was assured the customer should not have to ask for them. So we waited and waited for our food. After about 30 minutes I asked our waitress to check on our food to which she said they were really busy.....after another 20 minutes, our order...an over easy egg sandwich with a side of hollandaise, and mine, the new steak and egg casserole biscuit, came cold. The waitress just dropped the food off without even asking if we needed anything else. My fiancé had to get her attention as she was walking off for her hollandaise and I ketchup. Once I felt my food was cold, I got up to request to speak to the manager. He came by to which he said...he was really sorry but they were really busy...but by this time...it was 1 in the afternoon and it was not busy at all. And oh by the way...there was no Hollandaise even after I pointed it out to the manager and my fiancé to the waitress. I literally had to get up and ask the waitress once again. When the sauce was brought...it was awful and was not edible. I almost forgot to mention the biscuits. We got 2, yep 2...and they were burnt....burnt! It is so unfortunate that it is this way here. Everyone I know will hear about this and I will absolutely tell them not to go there. Me and my fiancé spend a lot of money here in the past, not only in the restaurant but also the store. As you walk in you are greeted by their friendly staff. (Very consistent at all the locations I've been to). All stores have their merchandise up front which ranges from candy, toys, clothing, decors, etc. (all with an old-fashion spin). The selections they have reminds you of a good place in time when you was a little kid. On to the service. I am extremely pleased with the service. As soon as I sat down, I was greeted by my waitress. I was kind of bummed the soup of the day was not vegetable soup, because that is what I had in mind as I decided to eat here. I decided to try a dish that I have never tried at Cracker Barrel, and I don't regret it at all. I ordered the Apple Cider BBQ Chicken Breast (I posted a picture) which is covered in an Apple Cider BBQ type sauce with apple relish on top. The chicken was so delicious and very moist. The powerful flavors of the sauce complimented each ingredient well. I would recommend this dish to all bold foodies out there. read more

The wait staff is great! The food is always good. Today I got there steak for the first time and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned good.

What on EARTH was that Thanksgiving dinner?!?!?! Literally canned green beans, stuffing was MUSH, how is it hard to make stuffing??? Mashed sweet potatoes were more like a soup!!! And the turkey?? The turkey was the lowest quality of meat I've had in a restaurant ever. I can't believe they were feeding people this, this is the kind of food they would serve in prison. The only good food was the buttermilk biscuits! Such a rip off. I am shocked there aren't more bad reviews about the food, it blows my mind.
