We're staying in a beachside AirBNB in Leonardtown MD, so breakfast at Linda's Cafe seemed the perfect solution to our morning breakfast desires. Linda's features a delicious array of innovative breakfast creations such as Fruity Pebbles Pancakes and specialty meats like jalapeño bacon! We ordered a crab cake Benedict was a huge success; authentic and chock full of sweet crab meat! The chicken and waffles was sweet and savory, totally delicious. My omelette was full of cheddar and garnished with jalapeño bacon. Fantastic! The coffee is hearty and robust, a real eye-opener first thing in the morning. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The decor is solidly maritime and very pleasant to behold. We love Linda's and make time to eat there whenever we travel to this area. read more

We waited about 25 minutes or so but it was worth the wait. We were greeted warmly by Ms. Vicky - a stylish lady with nicely polished nails. Our server was a burst of energy-- vibrant, friendly, and proficient. The food was tasty all the way around. We had fruity pebbles pancakes, Captain crunch French toast, corned beef hash and eggs, pork chops and eggs, and an egg and bacon sandwich. Ms. Linda came by and spoke to us at length. It hit the spot! It was pretty much your normal mom and pop breakfast food experience. Everyone there was very kind, we just happened to stumble across. This restaurant was a happy find because we still wanted breakfast food even though it was later in the afternoon, and this place fulfilled that mission. read more

This is a very well known spot for locals. Locally owned, small hole in the wall restaurant. Always busy (and fairly noisy) and always seems to have a line out the door of people waiting to be seated. I believe they're best known for the breakfast but offer brunch and lunch. Great for traditional American, "southern" flavors. They occasionally offer TexMex food (ie: chorizo burrito, etc) but nothing super ethnic. Decent prices. Portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side. There have a been a few times that my kids have complained about getting hungry shortly after eating here. The service has always been a hit or miss unfortunately. I have had some absolutely outstanding, heart warming service from certain servers. And I've had the mishap of having some not so great service. Once, it took over half an hour to get our food after placing our order, and other tables who came after us got their orders brought to them before us- understandable when it's busy or if we ordered something of the specials menu (which was not the case) but not fun when you have young kids who are restless and hungry. Another time the server gave our food to a different table. After a few minutes, they realized what had happened, and they simply took the plate from the other table and placed it on our table, didn't even check to see if it had been eaten from or touched or offer to make a replacement. Has it dampened my expectations for this place? Unfortunately yes. But will I be back again?? My husband and kids love coming here and will be back over and over again despite some hiccups we've had in the past. read more

We decided to try that new location. We knew that because of the new location, there could be a little wait. We walked up to the lady who took our name, she then turned around and started talking to a girl. We assumed she was talking to the girl about a table for us, about a minute goes by and nothing. I walked up and asked her if there was a wait time, she then proceeded to ask me what our name was? We were literally there for maybe a minute at the most, and never left from in front of her. Finally she said that yes there was a 30 minute wait. Would have been nice if she told us that as soon as gave her our name. First time there, and I reluctantly went because of wife. Hidden Gem. Go eat here. You're welcome. My boy actually picked this place. After a long training session at the base pool, we wanted to find a place for breakfast, and didn't want to look far. Linda's was right outside of the base, and guess what? It's was awesome. The service was fantastic, the food came out quick, and more importantly, the food was really tasty. This place can be comparable to our Hawaiian breakfast places, and that is a really good thing. My only regret is that I didn't get a chance to eat there again since I had to fly out. Great for a Sunday brunch - plates are huge, coffee is bottomless, and the price is right. Nice mix of families and college students when we came in. This is a great little place right outside the gate of the NAS. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and Linda was great. It is a small place so it gets pretty busy, it is a good idea to get there early. The selection is good for such a small place, they offer a lot of different choices. They also allow dogs on their small front patio area. We have brought our dog several times and each time they asked if the dog needed a water bowl also. We will 100% be coming back. read more

If you are looking for a local breakfast place in the Lexington Park or California Maryland area this is your joint. A Classic Diner fuel with a countertop in the back and booths and tables for the rest. They definitely have some very unique dishes on the menu such as the Captain Crunch French toast along with other unique creations for breakfast. I have had the Granny's omelette in it is very good and feeling. Service is good and they keep the coffee topped off. Again if you're looking for a local place to enjoy some quality dishes I would highly recommend you give this place a try. I have not been there for lunch or any other meal so I can't comment on that but for breakfast you're definitely going to get your money's worth and have the option to get either classic breakfast dishes or get something a little bit on the crazy end. read more

Only wanted to eat here cuz I was lazy to cook. I'm guessing the rude lady who rolled her eyes, is the owner linda. Major attitude, she saw us waiting by the cashier but didn't approach us. She told us our order will be ready to pick up at 25 minutes. We get there, she almost told us that our food wasn't ready but came back saying that we have to wait 15 minutes more with one more order on the grill, waited for 10 minutes and came back telling us that we have to wait 10 more minutes. I was working at a store nearby for the day and I was starving. Coworkers told me not to come here because it was expensive, and the food wasn't good. I don't typically give into peer pressure, I'm not cheap when I'm hungry, and there wasn't anywhere else as close as this place was so I went anyway. It's a cute little cafe, lots of nice decor and a homey feeling to it. The menu is pretty big, and it is a little expensive. If I worked near here I probably wouldn't eat here often just because it would add up. I got a turkey club sandwich with fries and a sweet tea and my total was $11.00. The staff seemed very friendly and the food was done quick. Everything tasted great! But I do have one pretty big problem that was making me debate on giving 3 stars despite my overall pleasant experience... it's that the woman making my sandwich was NOT wearing gloves! Ugggghhhhhhh what is wrong with these cafes and the employees not wearing gloves. I'm not the type of person to demand my money back and leave over that, mostly because i was starving, but it's just plain gross. With each bite of my sandwich i had to repress the thought of her crusty hands and dead skin cells all up in the crevices of my sandwich I don't know where her hands have been and I doubt she's washing them every few minutes, even if she was that's still gross. What's wrong with wearing gloves while making food besides being sanitary? I just don't get it. You can buy a box of gloves from just about any store. You could probably get a good deal at sams club or something. They take give or take 10 seconds to put on... i mean really.... I attended at about 8am on a weekday, and the place was relatively empty, but the service still took quite awhile. The wait staff was very friendly, but I still struggled with the slow service. Went here as a party of 2 on a Saturday morning around 10 and it was pretty busy already. This is a locally owned restaurant that has been around for decades based on all the memorabilia hanging on the walls. We were seated right away by Josh our waiter/server. It looked pretty short staffed since Josh and a couple other servers were running around dealing with multiple tables at the same time. As a result of the staff shortage it did take some time to get our food prepared and was not offered a refill for either of our drinks. The food was worth the wait as the omelets were very hearty and the home fries/sourdough bread was cooked well. The veggies in the veggie omelette could have used some more seasoning and felt like it was just heated up on the grill. Everything else about the omelette was good in regard to the portion size and consistency/texture of the food. You have to go to the cashier at the end of the restaurant to pay. All staff minus the owner were wearing masks due to the ongoing pandemic. All in all, a good experience that one should have if they're willing to wait for a table/their food! read more

The food was subpar diner food, and our waitress was nice, but our food took a long time to receive. There really is no sense of urgency at this place. Now, let's discuss the wait time and hosting service at this establishment. One that is absurd and severely lacking in customer service. Don't be surprised to be ignored for 15-30 minutes with multiple staff members walking by you before you find out how long of a wait time there is. They also quit seating at 1:30 and close at 2. But if you arrive at 1 they will ignore you until 1:30 and tell you they quit seating. It's surprising to me that a business would turn so many paying customers away just to close up shop at 2. At first I thought my standards were too high, but then realized these are normal expectations that this restaurant can't meet. If you're looking for mediocre food and poor service, this is your place. read more
