The social distancing was adhered to - and there are higher barriers between tables. The food: The rolls are amazing here - fluffy, slightly sweet, and even better with the butter. I got an 8oz steak which was cooked medium rare, as requested, and was SO flavorful. TBH, I was surprised because of the prices here. I got the corn and steamed veggies for sides. They were good sides - nothing special, necessarily, but I appreciated that the fresh veggies still had bite to them. All in all, a great meal for very little money. The service was amazing and someone who seemed like a manager, though probably wasn't, came to check if everything was OK. That's a good sign of service. The steaks were were all hit or miss. I ordered medium rare and it came out well done on outside and rare inside, like they took the steak and put an iron press on it to hurry the cooking. The medium steak came put MR and the other MR steak came out medium. The good thing about it though is they were still juicy. The mushroom topping was very salty which made the steak salty tasting. The fries, rice, and sweet potatoes were very good. Sweet potatoes were a bit small but not too bad. The salads were definitely small to me. Wish they had a bit more on the plate. If you have heart problems I wouldn't recommend eating here due to the amount of salt in everything, especially any type of vegetable. The House salad was knockout good. Fresh, generous helping, the blue cheese dressing was so good. The salad was cold, after a pickup order, which usually is wilted with the lettuce, and salad dressing warm. The catfish was flaky, but very thin filets. There was more breading, very heavy handed, making the catfish filets seem bountiful. I attempted to remove the breading to possibly consume a bit of protein. Nope, didn't work. No leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I'm sitting here, with 3.5 pieces of catfish, and still hungry. I would not feed this catfish, to a starving, stray cat. I will not be ordering again. Their side sauce was a welcome change from the usual tarter sauce, and tasted really good. I love fresh lemon and it was a narrow wedge, offered for 4 catfish filets. Old, without a drop of lemon juice, to be had. Bummer. The steak fries were so overcooked, and a dark brown, tasting charcoal like. Burned to a crisp with a couple of fresh, lightly tinted, the way steak fries should look, and taste. Not edible. Old, and fried again, who know? Those too, will go into the dumpster. The icing on the cake is the Unsweetened iced tea, having no label, on the plastic jug, and it was sugar sweet. Down the drain with the sweetened tea that should have been labeled, and unsweetened. 1 Star - Consistently Disappointing Experience at the Bowie, MD Location This was my second visit to the Texas Roadhouse in Bowie, MD, two years apart, and unfortunately both visits were consistently disappointing. To start with the positives: on my most recent visit, our server was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and the highlight of the meal. The rolls were great, as always, and the baked potato was very good. However, the rest of the experience mirrored my first visit in all the wrong ways. The atmosphere was extremely noisy both times, to the point where it was difficult to enjoy the meal. On my first visit, the grilled salmon was very overcooked and the vegetables were mushy, and the service was poor. I decided to give the restaurant another chance after two years, but the same issues happened again. I requested the salmon specifically not to be overcooked -- even saying I'd prefer it undercooked -- and it still arrived overcooked, with mushy vegetables once again. Both visits also involved wait-time issues. The app estimated a 10-minute wait after joining the waitlist, but each time I waited around 20 minutes. I understand table turnover can vary, so that part is forgivable -- but the food quality and consistency are not. What makes this especially disappointing is that I regularly buy Texas Roadhouse gift cards for my family in Tennessee, where the food, atmosphere, and service are always excellent. I've also dined at a Kentucky location with them and had a wonderful experience. The Bowie location simply does not measure up to the standard I've come to expect from this brand. One bad visit I can forgive. Two bad visits, years apart, with the same problems, are inexcusable. I will not be returning to the Bowie, MD Texas Roadhouse and cannot recommend this location. read more

We came in for dinner last night and were met with terrible service. For one, we were never brought water the entire time we were there. We ordered the combo appetizer but when the steaks were being placed on the table, our waitress came over and told us she forgot to put the appetizer in. Because we hadn't gotten the appetizer, we were still hungry and were looking for dessert but our waitress dropped the check immediately after taking our plates. Ivy (waitress) is the best part of this place. She is extremely accommodating, constantly comes and checks to see if you need anything, and is very timely when it comes to taking your order, getting you your food or anything else that you need. Ivy deserves a raise of some sort and should be recognized by this establishment for her exemplary service. Steven was hands down the greatest service I've ever received from a restaurant ever in my entire life. Although my 8.0oz sirloin steak was supposed to be smothered with mushrooms, it unfortunately wasn't, but for Steven it wasn't an issue and took it off my check with no questions asked showing true customer service. Food and service was fine but hostess need a serious lesson in hospitality. They were rude and combative, said they were fine with us leaving to go to another restaurant which I would but we were with others who really wanted to dine there. As we waited for the table staff members were coaching the hostess on how they need to "stand up" to customers and not allow them to intimidate them. We were explaining to the hostess that a few in our party ended up hanging back at the hotel which I didnt think was rude or intimidating. I have worked in the service industry for many years and I would be ashamed of staff behaving the way they did. Granted these girls are likely in high school but some real mean girl energy and not what I would want to greet my guests or be the representative for my restaurant. My boyfriend had even developed friendships with the managers and servers. I've never had to send food back and even if I had an issue they were very quick to address it. Decent for a chain restaurant. It's exactly the same as all the others I have been to which isn't a bad thing. You can pick your steak from a window at the front with the signature Texas touristy feel. Nothing better or worse in this location than the rest of the chain. Of coarse the honey butter rolls are a staple here. Huge portions, love the ribs, and the beer is cold. Close to home and easy to get in and out of. I only write this low review for informational purposes and hopefully they can resolve the issue in the future. I was in on Saturday and was craving a nice, juicy piece of prime rib. The place had just opened and as usual, the service was outstanding. I ordered the 12 oz prime rib, caesar salad, and the buttered corn. It all came out fast and i was excited to cut into that prime rib. Unfortunately, the piece I had received was extremely dry. It was an end piece and might have been sitting a while but was too dry for my liking. I have never had an issue here so I feel that this may be a fluke but keep in mind that this could be an issue during the early hours of the day. Other than that, everything was great! read more

We did ask for some of the rock salt and pepper that normally was a steak seasoning... but we were brought what amounted to be French fries seasoning.. Hmmm a real disappointment.... It's been awhile so I wanted to do an update. If you want a quiet place to eat this may not be a good selection for you. My wife and I recently visited this location mainly because we had a gift card. We arrived close to 5pm on a weekday and noticed the parking lot was just about full. After getting our seats with no wait we were quickly given 2 baskets of their delicious, hot bread rolls. Our drinks arrived quickly and our order was put in. My wife signed up for their App several days before our visit so she had a coupon on her phone for a free Starter which we selected the Cactus Blossom. It was hot and cooked right. I'm not a fan of the sauce but that doesn't matter too much to me. I ordered the Ribeye steak and my wife ordered the Steak kabobs. My steak was cooked perfectly to my request and my wife enjoyed her selection as well. I thought the shrimp I had with my steak was a little salty and I wasn't a fan of the unusual texture to the rice. Overall the meal and the service was very good. It was neat to see the ladies do their line dance routine. The service we received during this visit was top notch compared to the local competitors. I was amazed that the steak was so tender and cooked exactly the way I wanted. As we waited for the check and the doggie boxes I watched the well-orchestrated maneuvers of the waitresses, servers and busboys. There are many employees at this location and they seemed to operate like a well-oiled machine, moving customers in and out and cleaning and such. I'm a fan now. Never been to this place before. It was close to My daughter's college while we were visiting. She wanted steak so we went here. I had the ribeye and ribs combo and my husband had the sirloin with shrimp. Our daughter had the sirloin steak. First off the presentation was not all that. Looks like a mishmash of stuff. Next I dig in to my steak and it was chewy. Not so flavorful. The ribs obviously reheated. It was dry. I have to say I did like their bread and the butter they served. And baked potato was enjoyable. Baked just right and enough salt on the skin for taste. But shrimp was over cooked and veggies were soggy. Overall it's ok but not very impressed. Oh and I forgot to mention, we felt rushed- our server kept checking on us in a way that obviously to hurry us along. Not good. read more

Went here on a busy Saturday night so make sure you put your name on the waitlist or you'll have to wait a long time to be seated. This was our first time at this restaurant and all the staff were friendly and wore masks due to the ongoing pandemic. You get to choose your steak from the butcher shop in the front. Our waitress was clearly busy dealing with multiple tables but still made time to check in on us various times throughout our dining experience. The food took quite a long time to be prepared and sent our way. As a result, my ribs were slightly cold in the center and the fresh veggies were soggy. They had issues with their VIP membership which granted a free appetizer and even with my calling ahead to get it straightened out, I still had to talk to multiple managers again at the end of the experience which was a little frustrating. All in all a decent food outing experience but be prepared to wait for seating and wait even longer for your food. read more

Well we watched cars come and go for 20 minutes. Decided to ask, the person used the radio to ask status. Packing it up now. We watched cars come and go than asked again 20 min later. Okay, food finally came after watching car after car come and go. We got home and the steaks were cooked to death. Reminded me of good beef jerky and they forgot to add heat as everything was COLD.
