I'm sitting in this Cracker Barrel writing this review. We were seated at our table with only five other tables in the entire section occupied. Ten minutes later, the lady who seated us asked if we had been waited on yet. We said no. Three minutes later we were finally greeted and asked for our drinks. We also placed our order. We had our Father's Day lunch here today and it was wonderful! They were able to seat our 14 person party within 10 minutes. The service was amazing!! Our servers were McKenna and Payton and they were on the ball! Our drinks were always full and they were extremely attentive! The food arrived at a reasonable wait considering how busy they were. I had a horrible experience at the restaurant . I arrived around 7pm and ordered the chicken tenderloin meal. The chicken was very tough. It was more along the lines of chicken jerky. It seemed like they had not changed the grease out recently. I told the waitress, who was outstanding, and she told the kitchen. New chicken tenderloins were brought to me, but it was when the people I was eating had finished, so I had to get a to go plate. The people I was eating with both ordered chicken and dumplings, and it took forever but the waitress told us that they were out of chicken and dumplings. Score is based on service, not food. I would like to suggest that the hostesses have knowledge of the menu items. I asked some questions and the girls had no clue. They were extremely busy and I had to wait for a server to take my order. Server was quick and attentive. I went to pay and suggested to the young man the idea above. He just looked at me with blank eyes and then took a phone call while waiting on me. Another cashier stepped in and completed my order. Extremely disappointed, came in today with my whole family on a Sunday morning. I understand it was busy but it took us a while to get our food. When we ordered l, a table next to us got sat and ordered their food but they received it before we did... once our food came it was cold. We waited almost an hour for our food only to have the people who sat down behind us receive their food in less than 15 minutes after sitting down. We never did get our food. My family and I were excited about a long day of shopping, but we were hungrryyyy. We take the exit for Tanger Outlets and somehow we were craving Cracker Barrel once we saw it. We've been to many Cracker Barrels before. The food is consistent. The experience is consistent. We love visiting their Country store and having the typical southern breakfast. I ordered The Smokehouse Breakfast. I think it was about $6.89 and featured my weakness - biscuits. In addition, it had amazing grits, turkey sausage, and an omelette served beaters-style with less fat/cholesterol. Score! Our server was pretty good. Even when my family had complaints about their coffee/tea you could tell she was genuinely sorry and helped to fix the situation. This is southern hospitality at its finest. This is as cookie cutter of a Cracker Barrel you can have. Same layout, same food, same friendly service. Always good, though can be a bit busy given the Tanger Outlets next door. Entrance here is odd. There is a pseudo-service road you must make a right on to go back into the complex and enter from the rear of the building. Staff incl mngr claims that they are trained to leave the whites runny - I do mean runny- when they're ordered overeasy. I never heard of any such nonsense in my life. Let me start by saying I am not a fan of Cracker Barrel in general. Having said that, the staff at this one made my day. Our server ( and for the life of me, I cannot recall her name. She is from SC and drives in every day to work breakfast -into- lunch) could not answer a question we had about the location of the local post office. Instead of a polite "I'm sorry- can't help you," she hunted down another staffer who *could* help us-and did! During our meal, she was friendly, polite, helpful and generally what I look for in a server. Very sluggish service today. Had to request bread, vegetables were so cold they seemed "chilled", which was weird. Very small amount of gravy on meat. No catsup brought w/ fries. Had to find my own at another table. Kept having empty tea & coffee cups, please may I have some more!!! No tomato or lettuce brought w/ sandwich, since when is that a side item? Love our local Cracker Barrel . The only reason I'm docking 1 star is they sell country style food like Fried Chicken and only have Chalua Hot sauce or Tabasco hot sauce . FOOD POISONING! Went yesterday (8-1-15) to meet my parents for lunch. Was pretty busy but not slammed. Service was very poor, beyond just what is to be expected from being busy. Food was also poor, I was only given two pieces of chicken even though both the picture and description clearly stated it came with three. The worst part is at 2:30 am I get a call from my dad letting me know my mom got food poisoning, has been violently ill since that afternoon, and is now in the hospital by way of ambulance. I go to this Cracker Barrel at least once a week. Most of the time it is great and I enjoy the food and service here. I have been to other locations further down the highway and around the state which is not so good so it's kind of hit and miss. read more
