Horrible experience over the weekend - our food never came - we Waited over 45 minutes before we finally decided to leave. Our waitress couldn't be bothered to offer updates or even come refill our coffee (a server for another table did come by a few times but our own server couldn't be bothered). To put it in perspective, the two top behind us, were seated, served and their table cleared (by our same server) while we waited. I've visited Cracker Barrel's all over the state and truly enjoy it. So happy this location didn't get ine of those horrid makeovers! I love that it still has character and our waitress was wonderful. This is one of few locations in FL where the staff actually had more than 1 star. I rate our visit 4 stars mostly due to the menu changing. I was not impressed by the menu and I can see it slowly turning into an Applebee's. Another thing that caught me by surprise was the drink menu. I guess now they sell cocktails, wine, and beer. While I love a good glas of wine I don't know why it made me sad to see this on the menu (but I understand it helps them bring in more money and possibly younger crowd). I personally liked when there wasn't alcohol involved. Their pot roast was delicious and everything seemed reasonably priced. Best place for southern comfort food and a nolstagic old country vibe gift shop, it brought to life the old country style of cooking in the restaurant and the old childhood toys in the gift shop. I opted for the Friday fish fry, it came with tartar sauce, I never liked the sauce, but I was amazed this was the best tartar sauce I ever had. I got two sides: breaded fried okra was great but the dumplins were too thick the texture, not my favorite. We also had the chicken tenders which were kind of overcooked and dry inside, and the sides we opted for hashbrown casserole, it's quite good, u like the crisp side of it. I visited the Cracker Barrel restaurant located in Homestead for my lunchtime meal. The restaurant features a well-known comfortable ambiance which makes it enjoyable to explore their store collection before taking a seat. Our server proved to be excellent because she was a new employee who showed great dedication to provide us with excellent service. The cinnamon rolls at this restaurant stood out as the best part of my meal because they were freshly baked and had a perfect soft texture and exceptional taste. The steak at this restaurant tasted good but needed more tenderization and the mashed potatoes reached an unpleasant state of overcooking. The restaurant provides excellent service with positive atmosphere and reliable food quality. Cracker Barrel is the best spot to go for breakfast with the family. Very affordable and lots of options to choose from. There is also a kids menu. When you walk in there's a store with lots of items for the home from Halloween to Christmas items depending on the season. There's a variety of items to purchase for the home. The French toast is delicious! It had a custard and berries all over and some yummy whip cream. I didn't snap a pic of the biscuits but they have the absolute best biscuits, make sure to ask for some jelly on the side. Their caramel iced latte was good but more on the sweeter side in my opinion. If you come after 11 there usually isn't a wait to be seated. We got seated right away, there was nobody in line. The gravy on the mash didn't do it no justice. The second time, I had the Pork.Chops...disappointed. I will say one thing, the sides were good. The kernel corn could use sweetness. It used to be our family favorite restaurant ... but the new menu means some of the old fav's are gone and worse, the vibe seems to have gone too. Even w the changes, I'm still a fan until our last trip. The place was half empty, the staff were indifferent, the manager defeated by life. Destiny; our server struggled to get our drinks to the table within 10mins, the cornbread took another 10mins after the drinks and when we asked for some honey to go w our cornbread, and a refill of iced tea, the response was like warm at best. Fast forward 40mins and the main course was nowhere to be found. I asked the server ... she said she'd check, I asked the manager, he said they were working on it .... The place was half empty, not short on staff but the managers response said it all ... no name tag, a look of defeat and despair .. this place has lost its way. We asked again an hour in ... can you check on the food? The server disappears and doesn't return .... We decide to cut our losses and leave, pay for what we consumed. The cashier apologized and said it's been like this recently ... what a shame. I love cracker barrel and want them to succeed but the menu has lost its way, the staff and management at this location could care less .... Alas, the barrel isn't what it used to be and it shows. Just wanted to give a big shoutout to Eddy at Cracker Barrel he was seriously amazing! Super friendly, on top of everything, and made us feel right at home from the minute we sat down. He checked in just the right amount, kept our drinks full, and got everything right with our order. This was my first time EVER at a cracker barrel. I really liked this location. When you enter, you see a little store with all types of gifts. I didnt have a chance to look around, but i definitely want to return and spend more time there. It was very clean and organized. We were seated promptly. We had: -Turkey N Dressing- Turkey had a good amount of moisture, stuffing was very tasty, and green beans tasted very well. Grandma's sampler pancake breakfast- the pancakes were delicious, crispy outside and soft on the inside. It also came with eggs (I had scrambled), and bacon sausage ham sampler. The only downside to this restaurant is their cured meats. Very dry and chewy. Not up to par. They may do better with sausage links. Came here on a Tuesday with my dad since we just drove to Florida City and needed something to eat that was open around 9 PM. I noticed that there was a Cracker Barrel in our area and thought, why not? We can get the full American experience (neither of us have ever eaten there!). It was okay. The service was nothing special, a young female waitress spilled ice water on my dad and apologized profusely. We understood that it was a long day, and she said she would go to her manager to see if anything could be done about it but we ended up just paying and leaving after eating without hearing back from her or anyone. He ordered the roast beef, which he enjoyed since he's not picky. I picked chicken and French toast, and I received one piece of chicken alongside a maple syrup container and four slices of French toast. I wasn't the biggest fan of the French toast, it could've been crispier and it wasn't the best quality bread? But the fried chicken was pretty seasoned and crispy!
