If this was my first time trying to have lunch here, ratings would be much higher. Service and food were both great. That said, last three times we've tried to dine here, we've been given wait times of one hour or longer and ended up going elsewhere to either Texas Roadhouse or Outback. Today, even though the parking lot was packed, when my wife checked in, she was told 20 minutes, but the text message sent to my phone said 15 minutes which I can live with. Anything longer than that, I'll go broke as she shoppes through the gift shop. One other negative point and the store did try to address this which I do appreciate. I was making a circle of the building when a black pickup truck was pulling out. Turned on my turn signal and a white truck came if from the other direction. and this individual gets out of the passenger side of the truck and walk immediately in front of my car and blocks it and motions for the driver of the white truck to pull in. To his credit, the driver of the white truck had a lot of reservations till the passenger started to swear at him also. I assume it was a manager who was in the back walked up and told the idiot not to block traffic in the way that he was. Thanks to the manager. Walked in and well within the 15 minutes, were promptly seated. The guys in the truck were not happy with having to wait and after vowing to go elsewhere, I think this is exactly what they did. The patrons and staff of Cracker Barrell do not deserve having to put up with such boorish behavior. Very busy but our server was there shortly and took out beverage and lunch orders. I had Fresh Black Coffee and Water while my wife just had Water which is her regular order. I ordered the Cracker Barrel Country Boy Breakfast, which is three eggs any style, and in my case, Country Ham, choice of Hashbrowns or Hashbrown Casserole and again, my choice which was slice tomatoes. Also came with Biscuits and Gravy on the side. All of the items were excellent, but I should know better than order Tomatoes out of Season. My wife ordered the Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes (extra Gravy) and Corn. She loved it although we did have to request the extra Gravy again. Food and service were excellent and wait times were reasonable. My wife loves Cracker Barrel and this is the closest one to us. In years past, we stopped one or two time coming back from Atlanta when the traffic on I-85 was heavy with no problems. Since we moved to Denver, we tried three times previously and as noted before, wait times caused us to find other option. I only gave it stars because of past experiences at this location but if on the next visit, I get the same reception, ratings will definitely improve. read more

One Sunday morning, the family and I went to this location in Gastonia, and this was my first time at this spot. Parking was a little troublesome, so I had to drop them off at the front door until a space opened up. Once inside, they were already seated, and I sat down where the waitress was already there for me to order. The decor was typical of any of the other cracker barrels, but I was very happy with the service that we received. I ordered the mama French toast with chicken sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns. My wife ordered the pecan pancakes, eggs, and bacon and my daughter just had pancakes. The food was really delicious and the waitress was very attentive to all of our needs. Had breakfast at Cracker Barrel Thursday late morning. Waitress approached: I asked for decaffeinated coffee, water and a few minutes to review menu. She came back too soon asked for more time. I finally put in an order for blueberry pancakes and 2eggs over easy. The menu states "thick cut bacon". I asked if the bacon was actually thick cut? If not I will Just have the sausage. Waitress replied, "No, it is thick cut." Two plates of food are brought to my table: blueberry pancakes. ( Which sat on the grilled in oil. The pancakes appeared to be made from a blueberry batter; not a batter with actual blueberries added while cooking.) The bacon strips were regular and salty. When I talked with the waitress about the food. She replied, " that's our standard version of thick cut bacon." I asked for blueberries to add to the pancakes; she stated, " We have blueberries syrup." Be aware people you are paying premium price for a mix; not blueberries. As I was leaving the waitress came into the store to say, " I forgot to say "Goodbye." I was told the manager about the meal she seemed unmoved by my critique. Went in yesterday around 3pm as it wasn't really busy. Wow..sat in front of hostess stand for 7/8 minutes while we watched the hostess play with another coworker. When we asked for some help they called the hostess. He came and said he was tired as he'd been there since 7 and didn't care if we left if not as I mentioned we thought of leaving. I'm not sure..maybe he thought he was being funny.. There was food all over the floor, and not one person was cleaning it up! I was really surprised as this has been one of my favorite restaurants. The food was not as good as usual as the mashed potatoes were cold. In theory, Cracker Barrel is a great idea. This location fails to deliver. It took an hour for me, my wife and her parents to get our food at 3 PM on a Sunday when it was very uncrowded. When the food came, two of our party's steaks weren't cooked to the requested temperature and doneness. One only got sides and no main course. I got pancakes with no syrup and I had no fork to eat when I got my syrup. My mother-in-law went to ask for my syrup. I went to the hostess stand to ask for a fork. The pancakes were small. Our meal cost us $80, but it wasn't worth $20. The place felt dead and depressing around us. The food and service were just incredibly poor. I tried to pay in the app but it took me to a website where I didn't even get the rewards points for my spending, making the app a total waste of time. Then when I went to buy something in the store afterward, the cashier kept trying to get me to buy other candy I didn't want. Just a bad experience all around. Hi Guys it's greedy me again on this Cracker Barrel review. I'm giving three stars due to lack of communication trying to talk to a manager about my missing ham from my Grandmas sampler. It put a very bad taste in my 26yr old and my 22yr old over missing ham. We first of all ate in their parking lot. We watched the kitchen staff and a manager empty trash as well as the manager spending an extra few minutes to doodle on his phone. Meanwhile I attempted twice to place a new order and to receive my missing ham. The ordering crew was very rude to the point my daughter no longer wanted to give them another cent. This was the Gastonia NC location. I'm really disappointed because of how some ppl feel about Cracker Barrel but they proved a myth on today. As you see NO HAM! All of our food was dried out and overcooked.Pancakes were sitting in the dish so long.They stuck to the plates.It's and we're very hard. My wife had someight loaf and chicken and dumplings.That was just awful. The meat loaf of like it was out on the counter since yesterday anne was burned and dried out. Her chicken and dumplings were so thick and dry.It was Like paste. She also had chicken with her meal. And it was supposed to be a chicken breast that we thought, but it was a chicken strip that was so overcooked. My wife brought it home for the dog. As well as the meat loaf. And the chicken and dumplings. My food which was the granny sampler. The bacon was not bad too bad.It were cold pancakes were drier. I ordered toast with that meal instead of the Biscuit I had to ask for the toast with jelly.When it came out my eggs were ice cold already. Before the meal, she finally brought out some biscuits.What no jam or jelly?What's so ever. No napkins had to ask another waitress For them. And when our meal was finally delivered is one she asked me if I needed more coffee. We had to ask her for so many things that she had forgotwe stopped asking because it took so long for her to bring them to us.
