We had salads, spinach dip, plus complimentary bread. Salads had a lot of dressing (it was mildly too much for me so next time I will order dressing on the side). The blue cheese dressing was great though. Spinach dip was very good and super cheesy! For my entree I had a 9 oz filet and lobster tail. Unsure if it was actually 9 oz - seemed small. Was slightly over cooked (requested medium and half was pink in the center and the other side was well done/no pink). It was seasoned well. Lobster was okay. It was definitely just a small frozen lobster tail. I did try my partners Mac and cheese and that was the highlight! So cheesy and had bacon! The restaurant was clean and the decor was nice. Great steak, but have to say if your going in on a holiday so they dont get behind they batch cook, thats where they do several in line like well, med well, medium, and so on a couple times now i have ordered medium and got medium well to well, but if you go in 1 or 2 pm their on target, now their brussel sprouts alway on target. Worst Filet / Food EVER! Every single bite of filet was packed with fat, had to spit out half it was so tough. Potato had to be from last week, way way overcooked, brown and burnt inside. Asparagus was swimming in so much butter/oil/grease I had to soak up with paper towel. Paid over $40 for one filet, baked potato, asparagus. Visiting from out of town and we don't have a Longhorn where I live. We walked in needing a table for 5 and initially told 30 minute wait but after maybe 10 or less minutes we were seated. Our server was friendly and prompt for the most part. The shrimp and lobster chowder was delicious. The food came out and tasted really good. I will saw though that they struggled to cook the steaks properly. One person in my party wanted medium rare and it was extremely rare so we had to sent that back. Initially my steak appeared to be cooked medium which is what I requested but then some of the outer areas were more rare to medium rare. It was just inconsistent cooking. They were however perfectly seasoned. My only other negative is this restaurant did not have glass ware for some reason unless you sat in the bar. Then when we requested a spoon for the kids meal they "ran out of spoons" and only had a plastic one. I guess I don't understand how a restaurant doesn't have glassware or spoons for its customers. Was just odd to me but our server did a great job ensuring we had drinks and I know sometimes there are behind the scenes things occurring and restaurants have to be flexible so who knows what was going on. read more

I haven't been to LongHorn in YEARS but came here tonight for my sister's birthday. Wowee I'm glad I did. I got the chowder soup as an appetizer and it was fantastic. Really good Caesar salad too. It's been a long time since we've eaten at the Longhorn. Too pricey for our budget. Got a gift card for Christmas so we gave it a try. Had the best waiter ever! Marsellus was fantastic. Kept a check on us but did not smother us with attention. Replace our drinks (water & iced tea) without having to ask for them. Offered to have some cocktail sauce made for us when we ordered shrimp with our steak and I found out the Longhorn doesn't have cocktail sauce. Who has shrimp on their menu and doesn't have cocktail sauce? Any way, he was exceptional. Food was good. Steak just a tad bit on the rare side of medium for our liking but we ate it anyway. The called it "FLO,s" They were cooked as requested but the meat was dogfood. The filet was maybe a finger thick and as big around as a burger. Tuff and full of gristle. We have been to the Longhorn in other parts of Charlotte, but this location in Gastonia was the worst! For food: we ordered a variety of appetizers and for drinks we went with the Mango Margarita. I recommend trying out the mango margarita with a sugar or salt rim if you like that type of thing. As for the steak; it taste good but the wrong T-bone steaks were placed on the wrong plates. Meaning: The medium well was on the plate that the medium steak should have arrived on. The description of the 6 oz sirloin (with shrimp) was "tender." It was like leather....I could barely cut it with the steak knife. The shrimp was tasteless, the butter to dip it in looked like oil...also tasteless. The waiter told me I could choose 2 sides, so I did. Stopped here for Dinner after a shopping day with my Mom. When we walked in they sat us right away. A girl came right away with a loaf of hot bread and a side of butter. I ordered a sirloin steak and wanted it rare. My Mom gets hers well done. I had a salad with blue cheese and it was pretty good. The dressing tasted homemade with chunks of blue cheese in it and nice and creamy. When the steaks came out they were cooked perfect, I also got broccoli with my dinner and it was so fresh and had a delicious butter taste. So I ended up at Longhorn because I was gonna have me a sirloin for lunch one way or the other. I kinda already knew I was going to be disappointed. Caesar salad was great! Peppery, garlicky, crispy croutons as it should be. Bread hot and real butter check. Sirloin and loaded potato. Potato soft and hot! Sirloin, unseasoned and very tough! My favorite appetizer is the cheese fries, and i absolutely love their bread that is served for free and refills are available at any time. I'll take that bread over any other steakhouse bread. If you love half inch thick ribeyes that are well-done, then you will love your steaks here. What's the point of even giving customers an option in how they want their steaks cooked if the steaks are so thin that Gordon Ramsay himself couldn't get a medium-rare out of them? The steaks probably go from raw to well-done in 32 seconds on the grill. I also see I'm not the only customer that has a problem with the temperature of their steaks. If you're going to market yourself as a steakhouse, you should be permanently shut down if you can't cook a steak correctly.
