I don't usually leave reviews on chain restaurants and based on other reviews here I see that experience can be "hit or miss". However, we had such a lovely experience here on Saturday, December 13, I wanted to recognize the team working that day with a positive review. Our server was Emily - she was so kind and attentive! Really made us feel welcome and taken care of. The restaurant was busy but felt cozy and inviting. I am so glad Cracker Barrel gave up the ridiculous redesign idea! Their traditional setup is exactly why most customers want to dine there - to experience the ambiance and nostalgia. The food is what you would expect at a chain restaurant. The biscuits and corn bread basket with every meal is a very nice touch. Our food came out quickly -well prepared. Took my wife to Cracker Barrel for dinner tonight. Once we were seated, the waitress asked about something to drink. We both asked for coffee, and the waitress said that there was no coffee. When we asked why, her answer was, I don't know why. The correct answer should have been, let me go find out. Since when, does the eatery not have coffee? My dad and I stopped here during our road trip. The dining room was understaffed it seemed as the poor workers were out of breath and rushing to help as many people as they could. The main issue was the food. My mashed potatoes were cold, my dad received rotten strawberries and everything seemed like it came straight from the freezer. Of course, I know they defrost their food, but this time around, you could definitely taste the freezer. We ate at this Cracker Barrel a couple of times during our stay in Hot Springs, AK. We were here twice for breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast here is a can't miss. Our servers were wonderful. Crystal and Seletta are the epitome of welcoming southern hospitality. We felt so taken care of. Their kindness, warmth and professionalism is commendable. Both of them helped us choose the right meal and took care of us with prompt and attentive service. My husband and I both had eggs and pancakes here. He also had some breakfast meats. I had the fruit cup and it hit the spot. I'm so glad they didn't have melons in it. The only negatives were that you can't buy 100% maple syrup for an upcharge nor get turkey-bacon. read more

We came here to eat during after church rush (or maybe it's like this during summer with all the lake people) and they were so amazing about sitting us in a timely manner on top of service being wonderful as well. The food came out within probably 10 min of ordering and the food was fresh and hot. Our server Deana was on top of her game and very pleasant and did not seem in a rush and took her time. This is the best location we have been too compared to the bryant and shakelford location. Will definitely be driving 30+ min just to come to this location! I'm giving 3 stars because the people in the store were helpful and pleasant. The dining room left much to be desired - like service! We were seated and sat there for 15 minutes watching 3 different servers take care of tables all around us. We were never acknowledged. If I could give anything less I would. The waiter was the absolute worst. Messed our meal up, was out of meatloaf and never mentioned it and just brought out chicken and when he was asked about the meatloaf that is when he said oh we are all sold out. Really!!! Service was not good, the table next to us ran into the same thing on not being told they were out of fried apples. I would suggest that you tell the customer as soon as you know and not when you bring their meal out, which would allow the customer to order something else!! read more

Worst Togo experience I've had and I order curbside and Togo regularly. Original items ordered was replaced with something else and was not informed til brought to the car. I had lunch with some friends at Cracker Barrel today. I ordered the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and turnip greens. It was really good. The portion sizes were perfect. Just enough to fill you up, but not enough for leftovers. The server, I didn't catch her name, was great. She never let my drink empty, and she gave us just enough room to talk and catch up without letting us feel like our table was being neglected. read more

This is always a good place to have breakfast and just enjoy each other's company. I usually come here with my colleagues after working a 12 hour shift. Service is always fast and people are always friendly, hence the southern hospitality. Portions are always just right for one person, sometimes a little too much haha! Every time I leave this place I am always satisfied and full! Their fried apples are really good. I usually save them for last since I have a sweet tooth haha! Prices are reasonable, compared to other chain restaurants around here. Ambience is just right. Staff are always smiling and greeting you left and right. They always make sure you have a full glass of drink. Makes sure you aren't deserted. Ok, this place isn't bad, and food is pretty good, .... but the real draw for me was however, I could alway treat the kids with a Rootbeer in a Frosted Mug. Key word.. "Could". I was disappointed to find out that the Frosted mugs are no longer available with the stewards Rootbeer. Guess we will have to visit Purple Cow in the future. read more

I got the fried chicken and shockingly it was very delicious! It wasn't greasy what so ever and was fried perfectly! The mashed potatoes however were lacking because they were slightly dry even with white gravy. The decaf coffee was also very tasty and smooth! read more

It's Cracker Barrel ... it's A-OK. Why they don't offer a more traditional breakfast for those who don't want all that food I don't understand. So for a simple breakfast it was an expensive stop. Need to keep that in mind next time we are out for breakfast. read more

Had pretty fast service but got our entrees before our appetizer. We got them at the end of of our meal Togo and had them taken off our ticket which we really appreciated. Our waitress made sure our drinks were refilled! The food was excellent with pretty big portions, you will definitely need a box! I love the tiny jars that come with the pancakes! I loved the shop in the front too, we looked around while we waited on our table since we had a party of 8 and they were pretty busy! read more

Chicken Strips were nothing special. Had to ask for a spoon to eat my corn and pinto beans. Hubby said his Country Breakfast with over easy eggs, ham, hashbrowns were good. My son's bacon was extremely cooked and literally crumbled when he picked it up. It was cooked so much that it didn't like bacon at all, completely burnt. He would not let me send it back because it would embarrass him. The pancakes were exceptional. I love the crispy edges to them. Would return to Cracker Barrel for the pancakes alone! read more
