Stopped in with a group of 8. We all ordered at the same time, but only half our group received their food. Okay, that's fine and normal. However the time it took for the other half of the group to get their food was unacceptable. I'm talking everyone on the lucky side was finished eating by the time it all came out. I went in with 8 people and I really wanted to order a campfire s'mores dessert after our lunch. Well they brought out 4 people's food and then the other people, including myself, did not get their food until about 30 min later and everyone that got their food first was already done eating so I did not get to order the s'more's dessert because they'd have to wait on me even longer. Dropped in for dinner night before last and was so pissed off when I left I thought I better calm down for a couple of days before writing an appropriate review. Not sure what happened here, but I normally love Cracker Barrel. I've eaten in this location a couple of times and it was fine although the Service the first couple of times was just average. Came in around 7:30 on Friday night which should've been pretty busy, but there was only about eight tables of patrons. I got seated and my waiter walked by me three times and didn't even acknowledge my existence. I waited almost 15 minutes for water and a menu. I was bummed because they didn't have their pork chop on the menu that evening, so went with chicken fried steak and a couple of eggs. Should not have taken more than 15 or 20 minutes max to come out. I sat there for 45 minutes. The waiter kept strolling by, making nervous chitchat, but I could tell something was wrong in the kitchen and he was tap dancing around the situation. Then food finally started coming out and when it did, it went to at least three tables who came in a good 20 to 30 minutes after I did. When I was finally able to get my server's attention, he swore for at least the fifth time that my food should be out "any second." I waited 10 more minutes and I figured since I had invested an hour and 10 minutes and not gotten anything but a glass of water and a stale biscuit, if my food ever showed up, it probably was gonna be even more disappointing, so I got up, and let the host to know that I was leaving. She gasped and looked at me like I was fleeing from paying a $2000 bill, but I literally got nothing in that hour and 10 minutes - there was most certainly no Customer Service. Between your CEO having her head buried up her backside and whatever your cook was pretending to do in the back there, you people are in big trouble of things continue this way. read more

I had the breakfast burger. It had my choice of egg. (Over easy for me) hash browns, bacon and cheese on a 1/2 pound hamburger patty. They are known for their huge portions and they did not disappoint. I ask had the steak fries as my side. The burger was delicious and I couldn't even finish 1/2 of. The fries were also amazing, they were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. It was a perfect meal. I also got a $5 take home meal of fried chicken and mac and cheese and a to go dessert of cinnamon roll pie. I'll have enough food to last me all week. read more

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The waitress flat-out refused to accommodate my handicapped father, which was both upsetting and unacceptable. My immigrant father who by the way is a veterant was both discriminated and they were hateful because of his race. The service was beyond terrible -- she took our plates midmeal. The food wasn't any better. My steak somehow managed to be both raw and bloody. I could not eat it, I was disgusted. However. my partner's steak was overcooked gray on the inside. It was too tough to eat. How that even happens, I have no idea. We left feeling disrespected, disappointed, and disgusted. Cracker Barrel should be ashamed of how this location treats its customers -- especially those with disabilities. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It's disappointing that Cracker Barrel ruined our Thanksgiving meal and felt that offering only two free meals was an adequate apology. We placed our catering order on November 4th, yet when we arrived at the Hot Springs location, the manager told us our order didn't exist -- even though we had an email confirmation and order number. Being told "there's nothing we can do" and offered only a single to-go plate -- nowhere near what we originally ordered -- was unacceptable. No thank you. For a company that prides itself on making everyone feel welcomed and at home, our Thanksgiving experience was far from that. Cracker Barrel, I truly expected more. Quick Service with attentive staff. Ordered from the breakfast menu the Grandma's Sampler with two pancakes, double sausage, bacon, and hash brown casserole. My husband ordered the Country Boy with medium steak, double hash brown casserole and biscuits and gave. We had a short wait and our food was ready in no time. read more

I don't usually leave reviews on chain restaurants and based on other reviews here I see that experience can be "hit or miss". However, we had such a lovely experience here on Saturday, December 13, I wanted to recognize the team working that day with a positive review. Our server was Emily - she was so kind and attentive! Really made us feel welcome and taken care of. The restaurant was busy but felt cozy and inviting. I am so glad Cracker Barrel gave up the ridiculous redesign idea! Their traditional setup is exactly why most customers want to dine there - to experience the ambiance and nostalgia. The food is what you would expect at a chain restaurant. The biscuits and corn bread basket with every meal is a very nice touch. Our food came out quickly -well prepared. Emily made sure we had everything we needed, and our drink refills were always timely. Overall, it was a lovely brunch experience. read more

My dad and I stopped here during our road trip. The dining room was understaffed it seemed as the poor workers were out of breath and rushing to help as many people as they could. The main issue was the food. My mashed potatoes were cold, my dad received rotten strawberries and everything seemed like it came straight from the freezer. Of course, I know they defrost their food, but this time around, you could definitely taste the freezer. We ate at this Cracker Barrel a couple of times during our stay in Hot Springs, AK. We were here twice for breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast here is a can't miss. Our servers were wonderful. Crystal and Seletta are the epitome of welcoming southern hospitality. We felt so taken care of. Their kindness, warmth and professionalism is commendable. Both of them helped us choose the right meal and took care of us with prompt and attentive service. My husband and I both had eggs and pancakes here. He also had some breakfast meats. I had the fruit cup and it hit the spot. I'm so glad they didn't have melons in it. The only negatives were that you can't buy 100% maple syrup for an upcharge nor get turkey-bacon. read more

We came here to eat during after church rush (or maybe it's like this during summer with all the lake people) and they were so amazing about sitting us in a timely manner on top of service being wonderful as well. The food came out within probably 10 min of ordering and the food was fresh and hot. Our server Deana was on top of her game and very pleasant and did not seem in a rush and took her time. This is the best location we have been too compared to the bryant and shakelford location. Will definitely be driving 30+ min just to come to this location! I had lunch with some friends at Cracker Barrel today. I ordered the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and turnip greens. It was really good. The portion sizes were perfect. Just enough to fill you up, but not enough for leftovers. The server, I didn't catch her name, was great. This is always a good place to have breakfast and just enjoy each other's company. I usually come here with my colleagues after working a 12 hour shift. Service is always fast and people are always friendly, hence the southern hospitality. Portions are always just right for one person, sometimes a little too much haha! Every time I leave this place I am always satisfied and full! Their fried apples are really good. I usually save them for last since I have a sweet tooth haha! Prices are reasonable, compared to other chain restaurants around here. Ambience is just right. Staff are always smiling and greeting you left and right. They always make sure you have a full glass of drink. Makes sure you aren't deserted. I got the fried chicken and shockingly it was very delicious! It wasn't greasy what so ever and was fried perfectly! The mashed potatoes however were lacking because they were slightly dry even with white gravy. The decaf coffee was also very tasty and smooth! read more

Ok, this place isn't bad, and food is pretty good, .... but the real draw for me was however, I could alway treat the kids with a Rootbeer in a Frosted Mug. Key word.. "Could". I was disappointed to find out that the Frosted mugs are no longer available with the stewards Rootbeer. Guess we will have to visit Purple Cow in the future. read more
