Food is awesome. Service is best in town. The ambience is like everyone knows each other super cool.

My husband and I ate here while visiting Hot Springs. You can sit wherever you'd like, you don't need to wait to be seated. Restaurant was clean. There were lots of other customers there, but it was still relatively quiet. We got menus and drinks right away and ordered food shortly after that. Food came out quick, maybe 10 minutes later. It was delicious! Large portions, and our bill only came to $20. If you're visiting Hot Springs, don't skip this breakfast place! read more

this place was one of the worst eating experiences I have ever had waitress barely gave refills and that's only when asked the food took over an hour and was cold. How???? Bacon on BLT was so over cooked you couldn't touch it without it breaking to piece it wasnt even strips it was a small handful of bacon bits. Walked into Greg's rise and dine yesterday morning with my boyfriend. Waited about 10 minutes. Two tables who had walked in after us got served. It looked like the blonde waitress saw me before serving them, but maybe I just wasn't at her table. Waited a couple more minutes then finally my boyfriend went to the counter to ask for menus/service. The dark haired server did finally come give us menus and to ask what we wanted. She wasn't exactly rude but very brisk. Another woman brought our food. And a different girl came back to ask him if he needed more coffee (she was doing the round for the whole restaurant). But we never saw our server again. That kind of sucked because I could have used a condiment that wasn't on the table and a refill on my OJ. I'm sure we could have gotten up to search for someone or flag down the other waitress but it wasn't worth all that. It was our first time there so he had to ask the blonde server about our check. She told us they'd know up at the register... but the way she said it was like we were bothering her with something stupid. And honestly, if they didn't know to bring menus or even say hi and welcome us it didn't seem (to me) that they'd have a good grasp on who had what. But I guess money is more important than customer service here. Honestly, the waitress should be glad he paid because he tipped and I wouldn't have for the service we recieved. On the bright side, the food was really good. 5 stars to the cook. But, even with that i probably won't go back; customer service is just one of those things that make or break a restaurant for me and this was definitely a fail. read more

When We arrived, we took the first open booth. Once we sat down we were instructed to move to a smaller table for a family that was already eating at another table. I was confused by this but We politely decided to acquiescence. We were then sat at the dirty table the other family was at. We then sat at that un-wiped table for 5 minutes as other people that were coming in were greeted and had their drink and meal orders taken. Finally, our drink order was taken, very rudely I might add, and We began to wait for our drinks and for someone to take our order. After 15 more minutes of watching my server take care of every other surrounding customer's needs, including the tables immediately surrounding ours, while We were completely ignored (never got drinks or order taken) I raised hand for help. All I received was a brief look and then she resumed serving coffee to all the other tables and ignored me. We realized it was time to go when all those that had arrived after us were receiving their meals and we hadn't even gotten our drinks or been able to place our order. So after 20 minutes we left. No service. No drinks. No basic courtesy. As we were leaving, we looked around and noticed that my gf was the only African American in the establishment and all We could deduct from the situation was that interracial couples are not welcome at their establishment. It's open, not sure why it says permanently closed. Food was good and prices were cheap. But service was comically bad (unless you're a regular?). We both asked for coffee and water, eventually got 1 water and 2 coffees, neither of which were refilled during the meal. They stop serving breakfast at 11a on weekdays & so we were very disappointed - as guests in this town from Texas, we could not find anywhere besides McDonald's for brunch... we finally found this small diner. The chicken fried chicken, mashed potato's and gravy were very good. Canned corn. Iced tea was really not drinkable. It was fair food. Simple little place. Nothing to write home about. My husband and I left before we got our food. We witnessed a guy (didn't get his name- long beard, wearing a red apron, silver wedding ring) behind the counter cough in hand, rub his nose, take someone's credit card, then picked up some clean napkins placed them on the counter, and then served two plates of food. My husband loved this place. We're not from here and clearly this is where all the locals go. They know people by name. You sit anywhere you want and they have a pretty decent breakfast menu. My eggs were tough but other than that everything was good. Prices are amazing. We had enough food to feed a small family and it was under $30. Try the ham steak. Hubby loved it and his French toast. The pancakes are light and fluffy. I also enjoyed my grits. A good hearty breakfast to start the day. read more

This restaurant is NOT closed! The restaurant is local and very busy on a Monday morning. Husband ordered sunny side eggs and a side of sausage gravy. Eggs were good but there was no sausage or sausage flavor in the gravy. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and a side of corned beef hash. They were out of hash so I doubled up on the bacon. Eggs were not even warm and half the bacon was good but the extra order was burnt and hard. The service was good which is why I gave them a 4 but the food was nothing to write hone about. read more

Seated immediately. Friendly, speedy service. Drinks served immediately and never went empty. Coffee was hot and refilled often. Food was hot when served and tasted like home style cooking. Once at the location we go and clarify again if they'll accept a payment method at the counter.. she says yes.. for us to have a seat- mind you, no one ask us for out order or anything- 20 minutes later a guy comes out it's like oh no we can't accept that payment method! Like what you just wasted lunch for me, my brother, sister, and 6 year old nephew! This place accepts card over the phone payments- but won't accept our card over the phone for payment! we offered to pay by apple pay-card-check mind you we have a picture of our drivers license and multiple cards in our digital wallet! read more

The last few times we went in and simply waited forever for the food. Not kidding, at the end of summer last year, I was 45 minutes late for a meeting because after we ordered it took an hour to arrive. They apologized and said the kitchen was behind but for how long they've been around and the experience of the people there it just seems ridiculous. I may give them one more chance but it also seems that they should really focus on all day breakfast even on weekdays because we went in later one day not realizing breakfast was not being served anymore and their Reuben was inedible and the burger was just mediocre. read more

There was three people in my group.. we all had eggs bacon or sausage toast or biscuits and gravy with coffee.. place was packed with local whom knew each other... waitress were the season waitress that actually knows what they're doing and can serve many people all at the same time with everybody being happy! Popped in here for a quick bite before we hit the road. This is a hidden yum factory! We ordered the gut buster omelet with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Picky daughter ordered the pancakes. The aroma when they arrived was mouth watering. Coffee was tasty, the biscuits and gravy were ok, as we were too distracted by the hash browns and omelet! A lot of locals go here it appears. A nasty ex wife tried to throw chocolate milk on her ex as she walked out. So there was a little bit of entertainment but the staff handled it well! Down home food and down home prices. They are often so very busy that they struggle to keep up, but it's NEVER a case of carelessness. They're just swamped. You seat yourself. Breakfast and lunch menu. Specials are on the board. Don't come looking for something fancy. Food is consistent and like I said, priced right. Only gripe is poached eggs are extra. Found this restaurant using "Near Me" on our phone, actually finding it was little more difficult. But we persisted and we exceptionally pleased. My wife ordered the chicken strips, but immediately changed her order when she saw someone else getting a hamburger. I got the Corned Beef sandwich with Cajun fries. Anyone familiar with my Yelp reviews knows that I prefer to eat from Local establishments when I am away from home. Now that we are coming to Hot Springs on a regular basis we are starting to run into our rut of going to familiar places(still no chains). This morning we decided to go out for breakfast and my boys were calling for another establishment that we have been to twice and liked. I turned to Yelp and found Rise & Shine Cafe and it was only a couple of miles away from our Condo. The Cafe is attached to a Harvest Food and would be easy to miss if you do not pay attention. It would be a shame if you did. This place was great. Rise and Shine had the best Breakfast that we have had in Hot Springs and the prices were cheaper than anywhere else we have been. The portions were great, the food was cooked to order. My biscuit and gravy were incredible. My only complaint is they did not have the fryer on(20 minutes to heat up) for country fried steak with my breakfast. The Rise & Dine Cafe is open for Breakfast 7 days a week and has lunch Monday thru Friday. They close at 2pm during the week and Noon on the Weekends. We Will Return!!! read more

We came in with 12 people at 8:30am and the servers were so attentive and worked quickly to put tables together to accommodate us. Even the patrons helped by moving tables. Not only were the staff sweet but the customers were all so kind as well. The price was great and the food was fantastic! Pancakes were huge. My coffee cup never went empty.
