Haven't been to Cracker Barrel in a while and decided I wanted a sit down meal for lunch since it was gonna be a late lunch at 2 o'clock And I looked online and saw that they had some new items and some lunch specials I decided I wanted to get the turkey and dressing lunch special for $9.59 Waitress came and got my drink order and also took my order. Food arrived within 5 to 7 minutes. Everything looked nice and for the most part tasted good. The turkey appeared to be either a canned or pre-cooked breast that got sliced nothing spectacular but for the price perfectly fine The inside was unchanged, which I was glad to see it looked like the classic old Cracker Barrel inside The only issue or problem that I had was when I placed my order I pointed to the menu for the lunch specials $9.59 and showed the waitress the item I wanted and asked is this available and this is the price correct and she said yes to the lunch special for $9.59 However, when I got my bill at the end of the meal, it said turkey and dressing $13.99 and I didn't think nothing of it. I just figured I had to get it corrected at the register. When I did, they had to call the manager up and the manager was nice and solved the problem but he made it sound like it was my fault and that I ordered the $13.99 portion. I said no I specifically pointed to the menu for the lunch special for Thursday which shows $9.59 and the waitress said yes that's today's special Thursday and the price is $9.59 However, during the ordering process, the waitress asked me what side I wanted, which threw me for a loop because I wasn't expecting to decide on any side, but she told me I get to choose a side so I ordered mac & cheese So in the end, what the manager said was basically when I ordered the side that makes it the dinner portion not the lunch special and the price difference is that you're basically paying for the side, but I quickly pointed out to him that I did not make that decision. It was the waitress who asked me what side I wanted So in the end, in my opinion it's the waitress that doesn't understand or know the menu that she's serving and messed up my order by adding asking me for a side order But the only thing I don't appreciate is the fact that the manager made it sound as if it was my fault Overall, I love Cracker Barrel. I'm glad the location didn't change the interior. The biscuits were good as usual, and the overall atmosphere was good. I will return because they also have a meatloaf special on another day during the week that I'd like to try. But I will make sure and repeat myself before waitress finishes my order that she writes me up for the lunch special and if she asks me for a side I'll remind her that the lunch special doesn't include a side. read more

I've been craving pancakes from Cracker Barrel and decided to go. They have my favorite type of pancakes, with the crispy edge. I was hesitating on going to this location and I should have followed my thought to go to another location. It was a nice greeting and quick seating. The table area I was assigned to was a mess. The chair had some type of liquid on it, I had to clean it. There was a baby chair in front of the table with food and paper on the floor under it. There was food and wetness in a lot of spots on the floor in the whole restaurant. I asked the waitress if they could at least clean up the mess on the floor at my table. They came 20 minutes later to clean it up. A hostess removed the baby chair about 30 minutes after I was seated. I asked her was someone going to take my order. She asked me who is my waiter, I was disappointed that she asked me that when I hadn't even placed my order. When the waitress finally came she was actually really nice and served me well. The pancakes are the best for me. The eggs had a couple of pieces of egg shell in it, I crunched on it twice. The bacon was not well done, it was too soft. The biscuits have changed. Thought this would be a good easy choice. Arrived and was greeted and sat, only 3 total tables in the whole restaurant. Should be fast and good service, right? Our server got our drinks and never saw her again. We have been here for 50 minutes and have not received our food yet. Ordered one thing. Finally after 40 mins she came by (after we called her over) to get a refill on our drinks. Utterly ridiculous. Still waiting for our food. The servers have just been sitting around chatting and not even checking on us. We went for Mother's Day and arrived around 8:30am hoping to avoid the rush. As soon as we got there they sat my husband, myself and my three kids. After we ordered we were told that our food would take awhile. We didn't end up getting our food for about 90 minutes. With three young kids you can imagine their impatience. Our waiter tried his best to pacify us and stall with biscuits, fruit, and coffee but ultimately we ended up frustrated with how long it took. Our theory is that the carry-out orders took precedence over ours. We don't actually know what happened. Food wise it was great. Had a party of six Saturday at 11. Like with every other location, the waiting for service part sucks. 15 minutes to get coffee, another 10 for our waters. Took forever to get our order in. I received my food and waited 15 MINUTES for sugar-free syrup. Obviously, my pancakes were cold at this point, but luckily they have pretty good pancakes. Only 3 people got their food then the other 3 finally started getting portions of their breakfast 10 minutes later. So half were done before the other half got started. To me it's weird to eat in front of others that are waiting for their food if they are at your same table. If you get your food when it's made it's good, if it sits at the pass bar forever then it will be just "ok" on your plate will be super hot and eggs will be overcooked. Waling through a lobby full of cheaply made junk to food from the HungryMan kitchen. I dont get how this place stays packed. First time trying this spot, and its an experience for sure. You have to first go through a room full of bootleg items that are inspired by beanie babies or hallmark, but are obvious cheap knock off. Your funneled through this crowded room of displays like the duty free store at small foreign airports. The food is somehow worse than the temu store that you had to wait in line through. Even though we were there at noon, alot of items are not available already. And maybe those were the only good food here, the stuff we got are really average. The chicken fried chicken is mushy and greasy? Gravy is kind of ok, again has this frozen slop texture. The Shareables menu seems small for a restaurant, but the focus is on the entrees and sides. The White cheddar bites is fried cheese curds with a side of ranch. They come out hot with a thin batter and melting cheese. I chose the Classic country sampler (choice of crispy homestyle chicken, meatloaf, or chicken and dumplings). The meatloaf arrived lukewarm, so it was reheated and returned to me. It's a soft and thick slice of meat casserole filled with peas and minced bell peppers. The chicken and dumplings had large, thick slices of dumplings (soft) and large strips of pulled chicken (dry exterior but moist interior). The soup part was salty and creamy. The Mashed potatoes are pretty smooth with a few small chunks throughout. The brown gravy is typical. The Mac and cheese is made of small macaroni covered in cheese. A few cheese edges are burnt as if they were baked in a casserole. I did get (1) small and fluffy buttermilk biscuit and (1) slightly crispy exterior corn muffin. The basket comes with a few packs of Dickonson's jams (blackberry, strawberry, grape) and butter. The Coke cake is a rich and slightly warm chocolate cake that comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cake slice looked like a large chunk cut from a cake casserole, and the ice cream was not tightly packed but visually normal size. The interior looks like it did from several years ago. The soap was like water when I arrived, then was out when I was leaving, so I hope the staff members inside washed their hands. The staff members seem fairly friendly. I was a little surprised that you can't use the free shareable reward and order any of the deals (daily or early dinner specials) because Cracker Barrel's not going to let you combine discounts. I get holiday catering from this place pretty often and we love it! It's so easy to order and it comes beautifully boxed with instructions which make it taste like you cooked it yourself! Even though we've been here in person a few times we decided to order take out for Valentine's Day. It was a big order but nothing out of the ordinary for a family of 5. I'm so glad I decided to check my order because literally half of it was wrong or missing. So now not only did I have to come back in and explain how everything was messed up, they fixed the orders that were incorrect while the others were nice and cold. Almost an hour later, we were notified that our table was being prepared....only to come inside to join a long line of people. In closing I would like to say that the place looked sad, dirty, tired & dated, along with the help who look like the cast from Village of the Damned! My family used to love Cracker Barrel but like most things today it will fade into the past, I don't see this location (Airtex & I-45) staying in business (especially at those prices) too much longer. We ordered our Thanksgiving meals from Cracker Barrel this year due to several personal reasons. We ordered the Turkey feast (feeds 8-10 people) and the glazed ham. Two sides, rolls, and a pumpkin pie come with the turkey feast. We obviously added an extra pecan and some more sides for good measure. I loved the idea of everything pre cooked and essentially "warming up" everything. For me personally, it was the only convenient way to do Thanksgiving this year. Given the warm up instructions of the main course, sides and rolls, you do need to factor in timing of when food goes in and out. Other than that I was a fan of this. Now how much does something like this cost? Well for us, we paid about $285. Keep in mind that's two turkey breasts , ham, pecan pie , extra sides etc. Peace of advice , listen to the serving size here. We totally ordered way too much food for 4 people. I assumed portions were small and not realistic. I was wrong. Love : the fresh turkey with its natural juice (when it comes out it's pretty close in taste with the real deal), pumpkin pie is just good, Cracker Barrel rolls are too. Sweet potatoes casserole was good. Not so good: cornbread dressing was okay , turkey gravy was okay, and the mashed potato was okay as well. All in all I enjoyed this experience. I ordered online, I paid with a credit card and had a set time and location to get it from. I didn't even have to go in the store as the location had a drive thru in back for any heat n serve items. I can't say I'll always do this route for Thanksgiving BUT this year with family health issues and a 7 month year old. I can't see how I could realistically do everything the more traditional route. Worst Cracker Barrel experience ever, we got sat and waited at the table for 5 minutes and no one came to greet us. I tried to call over one of the servers and he made eye contact with me and proceeded to walk away and keep talking to a coworker who was already off( his name is Eric I looked at his name tag and when I asked the manager he told me Dave...). I had to go to the host stand and ask where the waitress is. Some other guy who wasn't the waitress came to help and he said the server would be right with us and still nothing...! We asked them for biscuits and never received them as well. We came around 2:20 pm past the breakfast rush and somehow didn't get good service. The bathroom didn't have any soap in both of the dispensers and there was just a hand sanitizer that was practically empty there in the rr. And one of the employees said just to use that. Wow. Worst Cracker Barrel ever. Seriously. From the timid service to the poorly cooked food to the cleanliness (dirty utensils under table/table not fully wiped down) - came at 5:30 on. Wednesday, pretty dead - my meatloaf was room temperature and my overcooked baked potato was still partially frozen in the middle (obviously left from night before) - my bro's chicken broccoli was tepid. Our only issue was our table had crumbs left on it and it took awhile to get our order in. Not a big big deal, just explaining our experience. Breakfast was the worst! The chicken fried steak was severely overcooked, eggs were cold and so was the hash brown casserole. The biscuits came out 15 minutes after our food which took 45 minutes ( wasn't crowded) to come out. An overall mess! My husband and I went to Cracker Barrell on September 3, 2025. We were both excited to go and try the new $7.99 deal that was advertised. We went to the location at 14765 North Fwy. HOUSTON, TX 77090. When we arrived around 6:30pm, we were surprised that there weren't that many people in the restaurant. Usually, when we visit Cracker Barrell there is always a greeter or a host. We had to wait for couple of minutes at the host podium. (which wasn't that bad, understanding that it a slow day for them) Someone finally came and excorted us to a table. I excused myself to wash my hands , came back to my table and waited for our waiter/waitress. Fives minutes past and another customer came in, sat down and was served there drink and ordered their food. We seen other waiters and waittress, but no one stopped or asked if we needed anything. At this time it was about 6:50pm and still no service. My husband waved the manager down and informed him we have been waiting but still have not been serviced. The manager then replied, " OH, your server is Joann, I will let her know. Do you want anything to drink?" We gave him our drink order and waited another couple of minutes still no drinks or Joann. It is now 6:57pm. We decided to leave. While leaving a couple of customers mentioned that the service was bad and they did not blame us for leaving. Both my husband and I love Cracker Barrell. We do not go often, but when we do go, we receive great customer service and are always happy when we leave. I had to express the disappointment and poor service received. There were maybe less then 10 customers and with what it seems like a fully staffed Cracker Barrell we should have walked out with a smile and a full belly. So disappointing. read more

I have enjoyed Cracker Barrel in the past ... but not yesterday. Someone welcomed us at the door as I entered and rushed off. We went to a hostess who took us to the table. I did everything I could to get her to return a smile but to no avail. OK I guess she wasn't having a good day. Our waiter seemed unkempt, but again, it's not how I'd want an employee who is serving food to appear, but he'd been employed. I couldn't hear him very well so I had to strain to understand what he was saying. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, a diet coke and a side of the apples. The diet coke tasted like root beer had been added so I asked to substitute it for iced tea. The iced tea was anything but so I asked for ice. He brought me a glass with ice, but no spoon to add it with - had to use my hands. The few pieces I could fit in the glass didn't cool it off. Guess they poured hot tea over ice and the ice melted. Food - Scrambled eggs brown, overcooked and yucky. Bacon, undercooked. Biscuits were great. I saw they accompanied the biscuits with gravy, but I asked for honey. The waiter asked if everything was ok. I told him but he didn't say anything. I said I guess I'm picky then. He didn't notice I hadn't eaten more than a bite or two as he cleared the dishes. The wait staff was pretty loud behind me having a good time. My impression was that the bosses weren't around. Anyways, this place is amazing and is my favorite Cracker Barrel. You go in and reserve a seat with the hostess where she'll give you an estimated wait time and will call your name through the speakers. While you're waiting, you can explore the retail store inside or have a seat outside. Food: - Grandma's Sampler Pancake Breakfast: The best goddamn breakfast anywhere. The nostalgic pancakes are crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. - Chicken and Sunday Homestyle Chicken n' French Toast: Added to my favorites! The chicken was cooked wonderfully, crunchy and juicy, and paired well with the sweet french toas - Pot Roast Supper (available Sundays only): This is my favorite thing to get! It's always a 20+ minute wait time to get seated and once your seated it took them almost an hour to receive my food and when I called for management as to why they were taking so long they could not give a response or answer. We haven't been to Cracker Barrel in a long time and decided to have breakfast after a tournament. The wait was about 25-30 minutes for a party of 4 which isn't bad for a Sunday afternoon. I didn't get pics of our food but it was pretty good. Service was pretty slow, at first we thought it was because our waitress was overwhelmed but soon realized it was because each time she went to the back instead of expeditiously filling the requests she was flirting with a male co worker and spending time conversing with other employees. She was nice and somewhat apologetic but it didn't make up for the overall slow service. We had to remind her of several of our requests. The food was cold when it came out. It was not brought over to our table by our server so I imagine it was sitting around for a while. The server also asked my husband if he would like a refill on his coffee, never came back with it until he was done with his meal. The food was meh. I got the pot roast dinner and it lacked flavor. Not to mention they practically put a whole tomato in there (sliced) but still. The hash brown casserole was cold to the touch and overcooked on the bottom. They don't have very many healthy breakfast sides. Everything is fried or has starch imo. We saw the manager walking around doing table touches but he didn't come over to our table or the one behind us. I guess we were not in his peripheral view but could have really used a table touch to get some coffee. Lastly the cashier was talking on the phone while raining us up. So rude. I didn't like that you can't tap to pay. I feel it's the safer way to pay. On the way out the host at the front of the restaurant was also on the phone texting. The restaurant is a mess. The floors a filthy, the windows are dirty so I can just imagine what the kitchen looks like. I had never been to this location and do not plan on coming back. read more

Let me see where to start: 1.). Terrible service by Naomi. Terrible because she was able to quickly provide coffee, biscuits and Apple butter that I asked for. This meant I "had" to eat it (or risk being unsociable) and I enjoyed every morsel. 2.) Terrible Chicken Pot Pie. I realize Cracker Barrel is known for "comfort food" but this was ridiculously delicious! I was so stuffed I barely had room for the Chocolate Cake. 3.) Chocolate Cake. This was probably the worst part of my meal! It was a large portion and it absolutely REFUSED to take "no" for an answer when I said to myself I was full. The cake didn't care, it kept screaming, "EAT ME!" 4.) Finally, service was always here to check on things and Naomi and Sydney, another server, never lent cup of coffee go empty. So - if you are on a diet of kale and interested in self-torture, this is a terrible place to go. For the rest of us -- come enjoy a DELICIOUS meal and great service! read more
