I feel like all CBs are consistent, and this one isn't any different - with the exception cheese curds are on the menu because it's in Wisconsin. Keep in mind that if you have food allergies, they're not accommodating, and they say so. The server checked with the kitchen for our allergens, and we were safe, but just be warned. We walked in about 3:30, very few customers. There were 4 employees in the front area doing stocking. No one at hostess desk. Waited a minute or 2 and peaked around the corner in dining area and there appeared to be a manager doing paperwork at a table in the corner. Asked if we just seated ourselves, she said no, someone would seat us. Waited a couple more minutes, then asked one of the employees in front about being seated, she said she'd call someone. One of the wait staff walked through the dining area and said I'll be right with you. Still on one showed up. After about 5 minutes we decided to leave. Our local Cracker Barrel is usually our "Go To" for lunch and a little conversation. This time we felt like we were being rushed even though the place was not at all busy. We questioned if it was under new management because the menus were new and some of the food was not up to standard. After lunch we went in the Ladies bathroom and it was filthy!!!!! Have not been to a Cracker Barrel since before the pandemic and it used to be one of our favorite and still is one of our favorite vacation road trip restaurant since there is always one by the highway. We stopped at this Cracker Barrel on our way to the Dells on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. Almost full house but food was still delicious, service could be better (minus the one star) and my favorite Cajun grilled catfish was still perfect. Love the corn bread with butter and my son had milk with this cute little sweet straw. Prices are reasonable and you get lots of food and sides. If you have not been to one, they have a gift shop with all kinds of things like clothing, hot sauce, candies from 1980 and much more that you can purchase. Can't wait for our next road trip so we can visit another Cracker Barrel again! read more

We LOVE this cracker barrrel! My boyfriend and I came from out of town and we like to stop here on our way from Indiana to Iowa after visiting my parents. The food is always hot, delicious, fast, and a good price. Tonight I accidentally spilled some corn and the bowl shattered on the floor. The manager instantly came over with a broom and was respectful and accommodating. She even offered to get me another side of corn for free and to move the table. She was very nice and so was the waitress. We always look forward to coming to this cracker barrel! read more

I love cracker Barrel, so we stood here for a quick lunch. This location fell short of that homey welcomed feeling. WE were seated and waited almost 10 minutes to be approached. Our male server wasn't that friendly, he wasn't welcoming, he just took our orders and walked away. It was almost like he didn't want to be there. The food was just ok. Just spent 10 minutes sitting inside Cracker Barrel waiting for somebody to help me. I love Cracker Barrel... I really do. And maybe this is a one off thing tonight at this Cracker Barrel. But I'm traveling through the state on business - I don't normally go to this one - but I see the sign from the highway and I think ... Cracker Barrel sounds wonderful... Go inside, nice lady seats me. Seven minutes later she comes over and asked me if I want a drink as my waiter is not there yet and she brings me a water. At the 10 minute mark I think I've had enough and I leave. Super disappointed. What a total waste of time. The diehard foodie in me - the one who seeks out local gems, restaurants that celebrate the ethnic diversity of communities, chefs pushing the boundaries of culinary art - cannot believe what I am about to do. I'm giving a Cracker Barrel a five-star review. Up until 2002, Cracker Barrel had a terrible history toward minorities and the LGBT community, the menu is typical chain fare, and the atmosphere, shall we say, leaves something to be desired. Yet as I have become a regular denizen of I-90 between Chicago and Madison, I have had many occasions to eat at this Cracker Barrel location. Quite simply, every experience has been nothing short of superb; indeed, I have never had a better experience at a chain restaurant. One server, Crystal, made our visit an especially positive experience. My wife and I were dining with my nine month old daughter. Let's face it, between the inevitable mess left behind and the special requests that come from dining with an infant, no server looks forward to having a baby at one of their tables. Yet Crystal treated our daughter as if she was the restaurant's top VIP. She stopped by our table every time she passed to talk to our daughter, making an instant connection. When we returned to Cracker Barrel a couple of days later on our return to Chicago, Crystal came over to say hello immediately and remembered my daughter by name. Upon seeing Crystal, my daughter's face lit up like it only does when she sees the people she knows best. The food isn't always pretty (but damn if it doesn't taste good during a road trip), the store is full of tchatchkes that no one could possibly need, and I am convinced I will NEVER defeat the game that is left on every table at every Cracker Barrel. Yet with servers like Crystal and the philosophy that Cracker Barrel is able to invest in its team, it's impossible not to give this restaurant five stars. read more

We went in on a Monday around 8:30 am and it wasn't very busy, so we were seated immediately. The hostess was very friendly and informed us of our waitress' name. Leigh Ann was at our table in about 30 seconds to take our drink order. Our coffees were out about a minute later. If our food took 10 minutes I'd be surprised. It was hot and delicious. It felt like a refrigerator in there because it was so cold. The old couples in there had to go out to their car to get more clothes. The food was absolutely delicious as always, but man did the service need improvement. My mom and I are both serving industry alumni so we are some of the most patient diners you'll ever meet. If the restaurant is busy or short staffed we have no issue waiting a while. But 15 minutes just to meet our server who didn't really even greet us, just asked if we were ready to order and what drinks we'd like. I have a couple dietary restrictions so I asked about dairy free substitutions for my coffee and she didn't seem at all comfortable answering the question; I had to verify 3 times to make sure I understood that she was trying to say they only had half and half. My mom requested water with lemon, which went forgotten. No big deal, we would just ask next time she stopped by the table. 45 minutes later and well after receiving our food, she stopped by and asked if we needed anything. My mom pointed out the lemon, and the server absently said "yup" and walked off to get it. It felt as if we had been nagging her for it, when this is the first it came up. The manager was kind enough to comp half our meal because when she did her routine table visit, we reported that the service was making us feel pretty unwelcome. While in town for a funeral & staying at the Hampton Inn, it was easy to walk over for dinner & breakfast. We had "Rising Star" Carrie one night. She did an excellent job (& ran out to find us after I left my purse!). She stopped by the talk to us the next night when we had a different "Rising Star." The chain is very consistent. This one was ok. I was greeted by the hostess at the stand. She never told my server where she seated me so I waited for at least 5 minutes. The server did her little name introduction and special for the evening thing. The food was good and the server checked back several times. The cashiers are always busy with someone buying something they really don't need but now can't live without it. This location was no different. Waiting, waiting ... Went to cracker barrel 3-27-22 . Worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. We waited almost an 1 HOUR till we got our food. Cracker Barrel used to be a solid choice. It has changed. All the food just tastes highly processed and thrown together--not from scratch cooking. It takes a lot to make basic breakfast food taste bland yet somehow they pulled it off. I got eggs and biscuits. The biscuits are pretty decent but the gravy lacked any real flavor and the grits were runny and bland. The sausage patties have a fake smoke induced flavor. Do yourself a favor and try a local mom and pop if you want breakfast this place has gone total commercial. They also sit people on top of each other when they have a ton of empty tables. read more

I only like Cracker Barrel for breakfast otherwise its not worth it!!! They have great breakfast menu with grits, biscuits and gravy all the good southern foods! Pretty cheap too! The food was very good, as always. I can't remember ever having a bad meal at a Cracker Barrel. What was disturbing, was our waitress. I was meeting my nephew and his family, and they have three small children. The waitress's attitude left much to be desired. The children were very well-behaved and were not an issue. But I don't think she smiled once and while she was very businesslike, she was very cold and almost rude. I was surprised. This is not been my typical experience at Cracker Barrel. They have a little store next to the establishment and they have some old fashion rocking chairs for sale.
