Consistency is key and well, Pete's is right on every time! Eggs cooked just right, amazing tenderloin, or go for lunch and try the shrimp and flounder which is definitely the best in the area! Sit in Amy's section and enjoy the outstanding service with a smile and I can't say I have ever had bad service here. The inside is always kept clean and even when there's a small wait, tables are turned quickly.

Bottom line: Pete's Family Restaurant delivers in a wonderful diner style/family restaurant type experience. In rating along other diner like places, this one stands out in the area. Very friendly and upbeat service this visit and the daily special hamburger steak with sides chosen hit the bullseye with me. Delicious and satisfying...I had a great visit. The Deets: While on a visit to the family, we decided to give Pete's Family Restaurant in Clemmons a try. Inside was a nicely decorated, clean, and neat family restaurant type atmosphere. There was no wait mid-afternoon and we were immediately shown to a nice booth and given menus to peruse. They have a big menu with a great diner-like selection of starters, salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers, entrees, and specials. Our very friendly and upbeat server (loved her very positive attitude and demeanor!) was on top of getting drinks orders taken and checking for any questions about the menu. I chose one of the specials of the day in the hamburger steak (ordered without the grilled onions). This hamburger steak was delicious and flavorful even without the onions, I enjoyed this meal very much...even the fries were almost perfect for my tastes. I ordered a cup of their soup of the day, potato, as it sounded great as one of my faves and I was not disappointed...very good soup with lots of flavor without going overboard with seasoning. My family ordered another of the day's specials of pork chops and also the soup with salad, they enjoyed their meals a lot also they said. If I was nick-picking anything, it would have been I did not get a refill of my iced tea during my meal and my mac-n-cheese did not hit the mark with me (although not bad). However that would be a 4.5 star experience in my eyes with rating this restaurant in line with diner style eateries, and I definitely go 5 stars with the server's amazingly upbeat presence. I am glad we tried Pete's Family Restaurant and I am looked forward to more visits in the future.

I have eaten at Pete's several times over the last year and thought it time to update my review. Little if anything has changed at this neighborhood diner that has been serving primarily classic Southern comfort food, as well as a few Greek choices, for over 45 years. They serve 3 meals a day, six days a week, just like their competition 1/4 miles away- that would be Clemmons Kitchen. The breakfast items here are the usual choices, and all are done well, and the pricing is more than reasonable, and remained that way even when the price of eggs was thru the roof. Their daily lunch specials also offer quality and value. The only complaint I have here is that the service can spotty. You are requested to seat yourself and when the restaurant is busy your waitress may not spot you right away - this has happened to me more than once. The last time I ate here (for breakfast), my order was over 25 minutes coming out of the kitchen, and everything was cold - eggs, grits, even the toast! My waitress disappeared for long stretches, and I finally had to ask someone to find her so I could get my check. Haven't been back since - I go around the corner where the service is much better!

My three positives and a negative because the world needs more positivity: + you have to love a local joint where it seems like more than half the customers are staunch regulars + the chicken biscuit was fabulous. Seriously. Perfectly country fried with the flakiest biscuit + I adore that our waitress asked if we wanted a soda to go. Yes, please! - I wanted to try the sausage gravy so got a sausage and cheese biscuit with a side of gravy. While it was tasty the presentation left a lot to be desired. At least melt the cheese a touch

We were in the area and wanted to grab some breakfast. My wife did a little searching on Yelp and came up with Pete's. We were impressed by all the positive reviews and saw they had been in business since 1977! Pete's is located at the end of a strip mall with ample parking. The exterior appears to be well taken care of. The inside is very open with a lot of various sized tables organized throughout. Most tables were occupied and we put our name on the list. There were a few people waiting to be seated. As we waited our turn, we could tell there were alot of local customers. Many of the employees appeared to know the customers and greeted many of them by name. We were called within 10 minutes or so and seated at a booth. Our waitress quickly stopped to provide us menus and waters. We began to look over the menu. The breakfast menu size is smaller than most but they offer a variety of breakfast options ranging from bacon and eggs to pancakes, to breakfast sandwiches, etc. My wife was impressed to see the price of the steak and eggs so she decided to order that. For her sides, she chose gravy and toast. She knew I would help with that. I chose a breakfast sandwich with sausage, cheese and egg on an english muffin with a side of home fries. Our waitress came back a few minutes later to apologize and let us know they had run out of ribeye. So my wife decided to order the country ham instead. She was a little bummed since she doesn't normally order steak and eggs but when the ham arrived she was happy with it. Our food was tasty and we both enjoyed our meals. We both left full, the service was perfect and the food was homecooked goodness. When the server dropped off the bill we were amazed, it is very, very reasonable. Overall, this was a great experience and we are glad we checked it out. We will be back! We want to check out their lunch and dinner menu.

Another mid-level visit to this good ol' country cookin' joint in a strip mall in Clemmons. Cabbage (hot n' greasy), Mac & cheese (started out almost hot and was cool by the last bite) & Fried Squarrrshhh (again, greasy) and Texas Toast (ummm...it is buttery bread). But hey, the tea was...sweet! I'll be hurting when I wake up from this food coma later. Might be my last shot, I'll give Clemmons Kitchen another shot next time. I guess my sweet Southern Momma spoilt me growin' up in Boone, N.C.

First time here. I was pleasantly surprised. For a family restaurant it is nice and clean. The atmosphere is quiet and the decor is nice. Our food was delicious, hot and fresh. The service was superb. We will be back!

Came back for dinner, and was pleased with the food and the service. I had the flounder sandwich, and the fish was really good and covered twice the space of the large white bun.... so big and tasty. We also ordered a ham and cheese sub, which was large and quite good. The fresh made chips and fries were cooked nicely and tasty. Our server was Danielle, and she was readily available and super nice.

I tend to avoid those times, and its a relaxed and enjoyable breakfast brunch place. On any given Monday through Friday after 10.30-11ish, you can walk right in and sit. Good omelettes, along with bowls and the menu has a nice variety of breakfast brunch options. Our servers each visit have always been kind and friendly. My last time in, ordered an omelette with fruit the Chili Chorizo and it was very good. A solid choice. A well made omelette loaded with roasted onions, chorizo, avo and cheeses, topped with diced green chili. Before that, the farmstand breakfast tacos also a solid choice. Three well prepared tacos with a side black beans, fresh avocado and pico with scrambled eggs, chicken, and chorizo. Their breakfast donuts, when available are a treat all on their own. Another cool part of this eatery, they juice daily. We always grab a juice with our coffee and meal, My preference has been the Morning Meditation, orange, lemon and tumeric, with ginger, agave nectaa and beet. Its a turbo charged OJ. 4 Stars a solid choice for a good meal 01156

Grilled chicken , fresh veggies, tzatziki on a grilled pita. Lots of filling and I got the house made chips . They don't give a side with sandwiches, looks like they are all à la carte. $1.50 wasnt a bad price though. Loved my pita I would only suggest maybe they grill the onions and instead of fresh. Loved the chips as they were dry and not oily . Served with ranch. My friend ordered the walnut chicken salad sandwich. Then realized when she got it it's full of onions which she could not eat. She felt bad for having not asked when she ordered it. Our server was so nice to see if they could trade it out and they did with zero fuss. It making her feel bad. She opted for the cheese burger. My hamburger steak and the biscuits were very good this time even though my broccoli side was lacking, Dad enjoyed his pancakes and particularly his fried eggs as well. Going with 4 stars but only because the visit deserves more than 3 stars for some of the food, again really want to go with 3.5 stars if I could. The Deets: When visiting the folks for the Father's Day weekend, Dad said he wanted to head by Cracker Barrel and get some pancakes for a late brunch so we stopped the nearest one over in Clemmons. It's been years since I visited this location, and honestly, really nothing much has changed from what I remember. It is the same basic formula with the country store area as you enter and then you go to the host desk to the side for the dining area. Luckily since we were stopping by a bit later even for a lunch, the crowd had left for the most part and we were seated promptly. Again, everything in the seating area is the same and could really use some TLC (lots of dust on the ceiling fans, more than a rustic type of appearance that could use a refresh, etc.) Our server was very nice in letting us having a few extra minutes to take in both the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus so we could decided what we wanted to go with today. Dad stuck with his pancakes, adding fried eggs and sausage. Mom got the Old Timers Breakfast menu selection, and I decided on the hamburger steak with two sides of steak fries/steamed broccoli. I enjoyed my coffee as we waited for our meals. Once they arrived, Dad really enjoyed his pancakes and particularly complimented the fried eggs. Mom was OK with her breakfast, nothing extraordinary or bad noted from her. My hamburger steak was really good, not dried out and plenty of flavor, I enjoyed it. My mother and I really liked the biscuits, baked just right. Steak fries were OK, but there were a good number of them extra greasy though. My steamed broccoli was cooked just a bit too long, not very much crunch left to it and pretty bland (Mom tasted and agreed with the latter). I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars for this visit, I really wish I could give 3.5 stars here. In looking at everything, I really think in the long run they deserve more than 3 stars with the good hamburger steak and biscuits as well as Dad really enjoying his pancakes/fried eggs so I will go with 4 stars, just knowing I feel like 3.5 stars honestly.
