We did call ahead seating on the app so didn't wait long for a table. BIL who can be a picky eater order the lemon pepper trout and he was impressed. My sister who has dietary issues was able to find something on the menu. My daughter wanted to save room for dessert so opted for the egg sandwich. The atmosphere is what you would expect at a Cracker Barrel which I would describe as down home. There is also the store which has merchandise that changes seasonally. Sat quickly. Great breakfast place, except... No plain orders. Whatever happened to toast, egg, bacon, and hash browns? They did offer to substitute the sausage and biscuits gravy for a piece of toast. Upcharge? Their substitutes make little or no sense. Example: my order came with hash brown casserole. I just wanted plain hash browns, but I was upcharged to get them.99 I get it for that at my neighborhood restaurant for less money. No jelly on tables had to ask for it. Coffee excellent no cream on tables if you wanted it you had to ask. Had one cup no refills offered this time till it was time to leave. Cracker Barrel's food is great almost always good. My food was warm at best. The plate was way warmer than the food. The food was good. I had the Grandma's sampler, again it was good but the food was just barely warm. I requested all bacon instead of bacon, ham, and sausage. I received 3 pieces of very floppy bacon as a replacement. Pancakes were great again very cool, butter would not melt on them. , But tasty. Only one syrup which was enough. Syrup warmer than the pancakes. One guest had the Old Timers breakfast , they did not want biscuits or gravy so she got toast instead. . Upcharge for turkey sausage instead of regular sausage that came with the meal, another upcharge of 1.79. The next guest had the Strawberry Cheesecake pancakes, they were delicious nice and cold, and yummy. The eggs were again lukewarm warm at best the egg yolk was cold. They had a Coke to drink and it was refilled one time. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were not as clean water on the floor and no paper in the stall. No place dry to set a purse down. The line to pay the bill in front was very slow and long. Line behind me. There was only one person checking everyone out. Finally someone came up to help. It looks like they have upped the prices a bout 2.00 on each meal plus up-charging any place they possibly could. Noted on menu any Change could be up-charged for 2.69 an item. Sad. Need a lot more of that country hospitality and a lot less up-charging. Paying more than enough for a meal. Coffee was 3.19 for a small cup. Coke was 3.49. Will probably come back but am very disappointed in Cracker Barrel. Not that they will probably care. I definitely see a difference. Total cost with tip 60.00 plus change. read more

The restaurant also smelled like a ton of food smells mixed together which made my stomach hurt, this is obviously expected but most the time that doesn't happen to me, the food here just smelled unpleasant. This is your typical Cracker Barrel. The facility is large and over filled with things to buy in the lobby. Things are always open and clean. Lots of people on hand to serve you. The menu is predictable and the food quality is consistent from place to place. On this visit...everyone was very friendly and professional. I'm not sure where our waitress was most of the time. However, the rest of the crew was very kind to respond to our requests when we got tired of waiting. Kudos to the team. Not so kudos to our waitress - who was very nice just not present. I was suprised that they now deliver a basket of bread ahead of the entrees. This was nice. The butter and jelly packets were tempting to devour them all before dinner. The biscuits are light, flaky and absolutely delicious! We tried the 2 for $8.99 appetizers. The white cheddar bites are pretty good. The cheese was nice and soft but firm enough to bite. The cheese had a mild taste and light breading. The fried pickle chips were okay. The chip was moderately thin and not much pickle zip taste. The breading was thin and had a resemblance of a corn meal type taste. My maple bacon chicken breast was good. There were two large pieces of chicken to fill you up. The chicken was moist and tender. I have now ordered food from this restaurant twice. Thinking maybe the first time was a one off. IT WAS NOT!! I'm not sure how to explain how dissatisfied we were with our food. Classic cracker barrel. Chances are if you have been on any roadtrip on a major highway you have seen the infamous yellow and brown signs for these country stores/kitchens. They are all pretty much the same on the inside with seasonal decor and nostalgic trinkets/candy in their store. This location is very crowded during the breakfast hours on the weekends so be prepared to wait a bit if you are looking to eat during these times. The good thing is, they serve some breakfast items all day. Inside it feels very homey and cozy especially during the colder months when the large fireplace is going. All the food I have gotten here has been good. The white gravy has a bit of a smoky flavor to it which I enjoy but others may not. All entrees typically come with biscuits or cornbread so you do get a lot of food. I recommend the meatloaf, chicken and dumplings and country fried steak for meals. The cooked carrots and fried apples are my favorite sides. The bathrooms here are not the cleanest and sometimes the store section is crammed so full you cannot move very well around. The service can be hit or miss. Generally it has been good but there have been a time or two that it could have been a bit better. One time we were even given the wrong check and almost paid too much. read more

This Cracker Barrel did a great job on Thanksgiving. We walked in and walked up expecting a wait. No wait! We couldn't believe it! The parking lot was fairly full so we were in luck. They had a limited menu, but that's to be expected as a scaled down version would be easier for the staff especially on such a high volume day. The turkey dinner was so good. The cornbread dressing, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and last but not least the turkey with gravy - it felt like a home cooked turkey dinner. It included a slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream as well as cornbread muffins and biscuits - I love the apple butter they have so that was also a plus. But, I will say the main star of today was Elaine our waitress! The sweetest lady! She was so attentive. She didn't just put a small basket of cornbread and biscuits she brought a plateful of warm delicious cornbread and biscuits. The food came out quick and hot and having a great waitress made for a great meal. It started to really pick up once we were close to finishing up. I noticed managers carrying boxes of carry out dinners. They were swamped with orders, but the service didn't waiver and it was just a wonderful experience. Was seated Quickly. Time was 6pm. Food served quickly I ordered. Roast beef. The roast beef was flavorful but I have ordered this dish for years. The quality of the meat and the prep have changed . Where I once was served mashed potatoes and roast beef on a plate. This was mashed potatoes in a bowl with beef and vegetables poured over it. The Gravy was so thin that this could be soup . It was more like a vegetable soup, with large pieces of beef. You could not eat it with a fork which is what you are given. I ate the vegetables and potatoes with the fork. I was asked how I liked my food I showed her there was no gravy it was just broth I ask how she would eat this with a fork? She agreed and offered to get a spoon, or to make something else. I said no thank you. The other guests were done. I left almost all the beef and broth. I told her we never received our cornbread, she offered to get it. As our party was through I said no. The Mac and cheese were very good. One person ordered chicken strips. The strips were very tender and crispy. were very good. When our bill arrived she had taken off my meal, I told her she did not have to do so. She insisted. I wish that when they have something good they keep to the same prep. Because as frequent visitors that is what we are expecting. This was not a glitch this is the 2nd time it has been served soupy. The cost has risen by about 4 dollars for a less than prime quality, that they at one time served. Noted that most of the menu for dinner was chicken. Southern food, seems to cater to older population. This is immediately off the expressway. Took long time to get drinks and about 40-45 minutes to get our food. It wasn't busy and no clue why. Our waitress was not prepared to answer specific food questions regarding gluten. We attempted to stop at CB on Mother's Day, but since they were not taking reservations, understandably, there was a wait time of over an hour, so we opted to come back the next day, a Monday. What a difference 18 hours can make. Only 6 cars in the parking lot and seating was immediate. I like CB, but wouldn't chose it. My Mother, on the other hand, adores CB, so here we are. I would say the food was decent and definitely plentiful. I had one of the specials; eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy. The first three items were good, but the gravy was "off". I mentioned this to our server, Chad. He said he would check in the kitchen. When he returned to our table, he assured me changes had been made in the kitchen, so my take home order of biscuits and gravy, for my Dad, would NOT be the same gravy. My family & I just left this location. We got to the store at 8:40 & waited about 10 minutes for a table. We walked around & shopped with our two little girls, my mom & a friend of my husbands. We are a military family who was just passing through town on our way to our home. My three year old wanted a pet golden puppy toy & would not sit at the table without it. We purchased it along with a purse for my eleven year old. We got seated & waited 15-20 minutes for a server to take our drink order. We then waitress almost 50 minutes for our meals. While I was taking my toddler to the restroom my mother & older daughter was waiting in the store section for us. They had the toy puppy in its box. My mother was accused repeatedly of not paying for the toy even after letting the cashier know that it was already paid for before we sat down to eat. The cashier continued to argue with my 60 year old mother saying that it wasn't paid for & that the cashier would know since she was the only one at the register that night. My husband had to then confirm that we did in fact pay. It was just a horrible experience & embarrassing. My mother feels as though she was a target of racism. read more
