Awful from the second we walked in the door. Did call ahead seating. Got the text to come in and Hostess acted like she had no idea what we were talking about and was incredibly rude. We waited another 25 minutes until we got a table. Service was incredibly slow, food took forever and they ran out of ice so we had luke warm drinks. Other tables started getting ice but our waitress decided to never refill our drinks. Waited 50 minutes for a salad and a medium rare steak. We chose Texas Roadhouse for my dad's birthday dinner, and unfortunately it turned into a really disappointing experience from start to finish. Right off the bat, the staff was rude both when making the reservation and again when we arrived to be seated. Not the kind of welcome you expect when you're celebrating something special. There were 5 adults and 1 child in our party, and 4 of the adults (including my dad, the birthday guest) ordered the prime rib. We waited about 30 minutes just to place our order, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. The most frustrating part was that after we ordered, we waited another 45 minutes only to be told they were completely out of prime rib. No warning ahead of time, no checking before taking multiple orders, and barely any apology. I had ordered prime rib, steak fries, and a salad, and during all that waiting they didn't even bring out my fries or salad. We were then told we should have come before 5 PM because they "run out," which didn't make sense since I had recently been there on a Friday evening for my own birthday and had no issue ordering it. To top it off, there was no attempt to make things right--no apology, no discount, no comp. I ended up not ordering anything because I didn't want to pay for something I didn't actually want after waiting that long. Overall, a really frustrating experience, especially for my dad's birthday. Was placed on hold for over 30 minutes and then was treated like absolute garbage from the manager. First time ordering curbside. The slab of ribs (Delicious)! In addition to the slab of ribs you get their AMAZING Rolls and 2 sides!!! I ordered first a City bbq. Drove a ways to pick up the order, only to have to return the order to city bbq. I then placed a quick order at TEXAS ROADHOUSE! I am completely satisfied with the portions and add ons and the customer service! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND TEXAS ROADHOUSE but NOT City bbq The prices at City Barbeque are HIGH and the portions are not commensurate with the price. I don't think most people understand how much being friends with your bartenders can impact your day. Every single evening shift bartender knows my name and my drink of choice (usual a Coke, sometimes a water). Two of the ladies who bartend on Monday and Tuesday are my favorite people there. Don't get me wrong, I love all the bartenders, but there's always favorite. Yesterday, I was having a really bad, emotional day and both of my bartenders took great care of me and offered hugs before I left (which I gladly took). Between how kind the employees are to how diligent the managers are to make sure you have a good experience, I will always be at that bar top at least once a week. read more

We were in town to see our Purdue kid run a half marathon. He finished in a very respectable time. When it came to food, we said we would take him anywhere to eat. He said "Texas Roadhouse, I'm in Lafayette, Indiana" with that 'this is as good as it gets' look. So we went to Texas Roadhouse. We were warmly greeted upon entry and taken to a table. The three of us were promptly seated in a booth and greeted by Emma. Emma is a Sophomore at Purdue from the Indy area who waitresses at Tx Roadhouse a few days a week. Emma was great - she said that she would promptly be with us, gave us menus to look over, and was promptly back. We ordered drinks, which consisted of a Diet Coke, water for the runner kid and a Coors Light. Emma had these brought to us in a speedoriffic way. We ordered food, which consisted of filet mignons, shrimp with house salads, and a crispy chicken salad. Emma captured the order perfect, brought food, kept checking on us, kept waters FULL, and made sure everything was great. The service was truly amazing. Emma is the real deal when it comes to wait staff! Texas Roadhouse in Lafayette, Indiana, give this woman a raise. We'd go back. Haven't been there in a while over the last few years (I can't Imagine why). Has it gone down? I'll let you make your own decision. Here's why. Entered the building and checked in. Only a 10 - 15 minute wait. Ok. So we went into the bar to have a drink to wait. Went to sit down on the last two stools and wow. I commented to the bartender that I might get sea sickness with the chair to which she laughed. As I rocked back and forth on the stool, the customers at the bar laughed along with the bartender. Let me say this. If the stool gives away on a customer, the restaurant would be liable. Oh, and there wasn't a crossbar to put your feet on. So, you had to dangle your feet. Ok. So that's on me right? Ordered our meal. Chicken with Portabella Mushroom Sauce with baked potato and a chef salad. I asked if I ordered a larger steak, would it be thicker. Nope, all the same, just larger in size. Hmmm. The case showed thicker steaks. I guess you have to ask specifically for those. No on told me. Ordered the small ribeye with fries and a caesar salad. All good on the meal. Nope. Let me ask you this. Do you like the thick hard stem of the iceberg lettuce? How do you prepare a salad? Well, you cut the stem out of the leaf and dispose of it because it it bitter and hard. But, LOL they cut out the stem, put the leaves in the salad and then, wait for it, cut up the stems and threw them back in the salad. ??? What's that all about? Half the salad was the stems. Those are bitter and hard to digest. That's why it is cut out. Let me say that the chicken dish was good as well as the steak. I only expect a few things. When the Manager asks you, "How are things?". Wait until you can talk without food in your mouth. And, be sincere. She was automated and only asked because she had to. Oh and the assistant Manager came by and did exactly the same thing. The salad dish was sitting right in front of me with the stems on it. They didn't look and didn't ask about it. Also, if you are a bartender, you want as many people at the bar that you can get and keep them there. You cant do that with rickety, wobbly and potential hazardous chairs. I still left a good tip. But MAN, the place needs to get their act together. If you are going there, get a booth and expect to pay an additional 30-40 percent more than a year ago. Too bad. I always enjoyed that restaurant. If you the manager our owner are reading this, I am more than happy to remove this if you remove those stools, make the salads right, advise customers about steak choices and ask your managers to be sincere. read more

The service was good. The prime rib was one of the worst I've had in my life. I guess you pay for what you get. Prime rib is under $20 here, but definitely taste it. The meat was VERY tough and chewy. It did not have much flavor. They did a good job with the sides. The sweet potato is served with cinnamon butter and a side of brown sugar. The cinnamon butter was all I needed on my sweet potato. The broccoli and carrots were freshly steamed. The loaded baked potato comes with a salted skin. The onion appetizer was a good size to share among 4 people for the price. The rolls are AMAZING. They walk you to your table with a fresh warm basket of rolls and cinnamon butter. You can request more complimentary rolls. While you wait there are peanuts to eat and you throw the shells on the floor. They have more peanuts in a tub at your table. You will not go home hungry here! We did call ahead seating. They lost our name after we arrived and thought we were already seated. Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite stops when I'm traveling. I LOVE their sweet rolls and the cinnamon butter spread. Their salads are also top-notch, huge, and super fresh. I typically enjoy the rotisserie chicken here with a side of veggies and salad. While everything here was delicious, I think they may have changed up how they serve the chicken. They used to do a nice chicken on the bone but my usual order arrived as a chicken breast instead. I'm going to order a different menu item if this is now the case. read more

Went there on Black Friday, and the location is right next to the mall! They were swamped to say the least, but the staff had everything moving and under control. We were seated much more quickly than I was expecting, and our waitress seemed to always make time to check on us and see how we were doing. Everyone really put in the effort while making it look effortless. But, this is what impressed me the most: During our lunch my wife and I began to reminisce about our oldest son, who had passed away at 25 two years earlier. The conversation was making my wife teary-eyed, and our waitress asked if she was ok. We gave her a brief explanation, she expressed her condolences and went about her business. A minute later, a waitress whom we hadn't even met sat down next to my wife and gave her the biggest hug. You don't see that much anymore. Except in Indiana.
