#22/2023 Another cracker barrel your standard faire. Like any big chain no need for a big long write up that's pretty much everything you see at any other cracker barrel. You got your rocking chairs your checkers on the porch you walk inside you have your classic General store gift shop. The can straight ahead I came in wanting some breakfast I got there just before noon it was already pretty crowded but I didn't have to wait I got seated right away ordered up some cawfee. Ordered my favorite I know the menu and what I like it's Mommas breakfast. Which is basically two eggs your choice of meat and three pancakes. I usually add for another Buck the blueberries which ain't bad you get fresh blueberries inside there you also get a nice Dickinson's wild Maine blueberry syrup. The server was very nice she kept my coffee refilled. Which though is really three and a half out of but I'm giving them the four star bump for my first visit. It's happened in a few CBs in the past The pancakes were good they were 95% fluffy but the edges were just a little bit burnt you have to use a knife to cut it. The sausage was very good as always and the eggs could have been just a little more cooked they were slightly runny they tasted fine but when I asked soft scrambled I don't mean watery. But with the fork and tossing around a few times I brought life to them. Didn't really want to send them back because they were getting really crowded and who the hell knows how long it would have took for him to bring them back out again. But all in all it was an above average experience so hence the four stars I will come back and have breakfast here again. Was a little dirty though they could have did a little more sprucing up inside. As far as dinner I don't know I'd really have to know if I wanted it or not there's a lot more other chain restaurants in this area all your big ones so it just depends on the day. Tuesday night dinner at 6pm. Not crowded and fireplace was burning. Veg plate was ok at best. Pinto beans were hard, cold and all stuck together. Biscuits were barely done. Breakfast was good. Hash brown casserole didn't taste fresh. Typical fare for an establishment that seems to be toward the end of its life. read more

Let's begin with the positives. We had the cinnamon roll skillet to share. It was warm and very good. Waiter was young and energetic, but was a bit overwhelmed as he had multiple tables with large groups. It goes downhill from there. I had the breakfast that comes with biscuits and gravy. They failed to inform me that there were no biscuits. Then they gave me Diet Coke to drink, which I did order, but I have no idea what they brought me. It was lighter than tea, but tasted like watered down soda of some sort. (Picture of drink added). We did not have a good experience here. I stopped here on. Friday for carry out of fried catfish, green beans and some hash brown casserole. Also wanted some of the dumplings I heard so much about. This kind of food is not my normal thing but wanted fish. I am very disappointed because the fish was fried so dry that even my cats didn't want to eat it. Green beens were a mush and the casserole had fat pooling on top of it oh and no dumplings . . Seriously the worst order of food I ever wasted money on it. Now the three stars are for the nice servers who helped me with my order. I know it's not their fault and they shouldn't be paying for the kitchen staff's lack of service etiquette. This is the worst Cracker Barrel I have ever been too. Which is incredibly surprising because Lebanon is home to Cracker Barrel. Everything is served cold and the service is horrible. I never see a manager walking around checking on tables. That's where the problem lies. The food is not good. The hash brown casserole always has this awful crust on it and no flavor. I'm just so disappointed. Take the extra 20 minutes and head over to Mt Juliet Cracker Barrel. It'll be worth it. Ambiance is typical Cracker Barrel - nothing new there. It's family oriented and fairly clean. They definitely need to do better. read more

Everyone pretty much knows what to expect from CB. Cafeteria food with decor that provides a sweet charm. I can't say the food was bad; it was fine, big portions, could have been hotter and more flavorful but the prices are good and the food is ok overall, the new onion petals were good and had a nice sweet onion taste. Service was slow and it wasn't that busy, but she was friendly. Overall I'd go again, just know what your going into when you go! read more

Ordered our food online 1-1/2 hours early so it would be ready on time. Got there and had to wait a full half hour more before it was ready. One dish was piping hot, the other was stone cold. I have always loved nostalgia & good food but never experienced southern dining as a Southern Californian 70's kid. I've been to CB's in Illinois, Nashville area & my new residents & town of 5yrs in Lebanon TN. The food has always been delicious & promptly served. However my husband & I visited in Spring of 2025 & the experience was so abysmal that we swore we'd never return so I never wrote a review. But now that the battle of the CB sign has been won by the people, for which I celebrate, I decided to share my experience in the hope that it helps improve future customer service. We were seated pretty quickly for a Sunday which was wonderful. Coffee, water arrived promptly & our server took our order. As we waited for an hour (my husband timed it at half past) for our food I noticed a party of eight that had been waiting for their orders when we got seated. When they finally got their order I noticed displeasure at the meal. I could only imagine that displeasure was at the arrival of Cold food as was our experience as well. I do not know what was going on in the kitchen or w/ staff but CB Lebanon has got to do better. The restaurant was moderately busy & our food was lukewarm at best but we were so hungry that we ate it because who knew how long it would take to get it if we sent it back? Even our server apologized that we were "held hostage" for so long. So we paid & said never again. I was so disappointed I didn't even want to go back to shop for gifts. My hope is that things will improve. Lebanon is growing & more breakfast places are opening up. I'm sure CB will always thrive but there is no excuse for lukewarm to cold food to arrive on any customers table, much more wait an hour for it. It's unacceptable. While the service was excellent I was disappointed in the changes first to the menu and mostly the Bacon. For something that has been around for so long and worked so well it's a disappointment to see the company go away from what Dan Evins first brought to us. But the bacon.... Stopped in for a mid morning breakfast. Restaurant was clean and inviting. We were a party of 6. The new breakfast menu was very limited. Miss the old offerings like oatmeal and gravy and biscuits. Four or five combos offered and they were all $11 and up. Took unusually longer to get our food but I am usually understanding. However when the food arrived it was really cold. Disappointing but we were hungry and already behind schedule. Not the best location to visit and I thought the company was founded in Lebanon. Will avoid this one. read more

Stopped by with some coworkers for a mid-week work lunch and was surprised at how busy it was for a Wednesday afternoon. The service was good. We got our drinks right away but it took a second for our food to arrive. I tried one of the new menu specials: the biscuit benny. Oh my oh my! The most glamorous Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. Everyone looks fabulous and has fabulous hair. I am not kidding. Even the people dining inside were dressed to the nines. when in Nashville! The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. Our food was good. Cheese grits were a little too starchy if that makes any sense. Everything else was nice. I ordered the fried catfish and this was by far the best fried catfish I have had at the other locations. I really think it's great that the sweet tea isn't too sweet. Paige was our sever this afternoon and she was so sweet, professional, and went above and beyond. Management does need to recognize her! Let me start by saying that this location is in Lebanon, Tn, the birthplace of Cracker Barrel. I have been a lifelong customer since the restaurant chain was founded at its original location on Highway 109 and Leeville Pike. The service was poor at best. The restaraunt was dirty, dirty, and our table was dirty when we were seated. It appeared to have powdered sugar on it, and it was wet from drink condensation. It required 3 requests to receive A1 sauce for the hamburger steak. My wife ordered vegetable soup as a side and had to ask for a spoon. The waitresses were responsible for bussing the tables. This practice is disgusting. If you watch the waitresses work, you soon realize that they take the dirty dishes back and returm with customers' food without time to wash their hands. This is absolutely repulsive. Now for the food. Hamburger Steak: Ordered medium. As you can see from the photo, it was past well. There was plenty of black griddle funk to go around, as well. Waffle House would have been an improvement. Someone needs to train the cook on meat temps, to clean the griddle and to NEVER mash burgers. Mashed potatoes: I know, how do you mess up mashed potatoes. Well, I don't know either, but they figured out how. They actually tasted a little sour. They were only luke warm when the food came out and cold midway through the meal. Food seemed to sit in the window for a while prior to being delivered. The burger was hot, so I conclude that the sides were plated far before the meat was finished cooking. Perhaps they should cook the burger, then plate the sides. At this point, you may ask, "Why did you eat it?". It took 25 minutes to receive and I was hungry. Macaroni and cheese: Average at best and definitely not "Southern Cooking". It was also only lukewarm when served and cold soon thereafter. Biscuits: Are you kidding? Cracker Barrel used to have good buttermilk biscuits. What are the things they served? Biscuit cookies? I've never eaten 3/8" thick biscuits in my life, until now. You can make better biscuits at home every day. Just take some selfrising flour and pour some cream in it until it gets...about like that. Roll them out gently and about 3/4" thick and bake. Yes, it's that easy or read the Martha White bag. Grilled Chicken Sandwich: Wife ate a few bites and quit. She said it was awful. Vegetable Soup: No seasoning, no beef broth, no taste, chalky potatoes. Chalky textured potatoes are most certainly previously frozen. I learned this myself from freezIng leftover soup. There is a huge difference in Cracker Barrell since it was sold. It is obviously going, going, gone downhill. Do all of us a favor and tell the people at the counter the truth when they ask, "Did you enjoy your food and service?" I promptly said NO. They asked what was wrong with the food and service. I started my response with, "Everything...." I was at the counter for at least 5 minutes. Someone better reel this place in. Stock has dropped like a rock. I'm glad I didn't have any, now. Brought it back to receive fresh food just to be given the same food reheated with hair in it! I'm scarred for life after this experience. Hadn't been to there flagship store since I moved back and things have changed. the eggs were rubbers and smeared across my plate,sausage was dried and tough and they used to refill your coffee cup. The service was good but the food not so much. I ordered the pancake tacos and when it came out there was barely anything inside maybe 1 tablespoon of cheese, 1 slice of bacon and 1 egg. I am becoming a Cracker Barrel affection-ado (spelling?) as I travel cross country. I have found that the entree's are really good. The sides vary. I love the steamed broccoli cuz it's done just right. The green beans are cooked with ham as are the pinto beans. Yum. The carrots are sweetened but lots of people like that. The potatoes are powdered but that is to be expected at a big chain. I grew up on powdered potatoes because my family owned a hof brau. I have always preferred potatoes from scratch. You can get a side salad at a small cost or can add one to your order if y'all are looking for green vegetables. They are good sized and tasty. The prices are really reasonable. I got a steak and three sides for $12.99 in Amarillo. I'm in Lebanon, TN and the food is the same in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. read more

Well. I just had the best Cracker Barrell meal Ever!!! I had the 2 egg special with bacon, loaded potato casserole, cinnnamon roll pie & fried apples. YUM!!! I also had a spritzer on the special menu that was made with cranberry....reminded me of "Cold Duck" for those who remember the 70s. My hubby had Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes, along with biscuits & gravy. He said it was excellent even tho he had to ask for new potatoes because they were lukewarm & stuck in a solid clump. They were quick to bring him a new dish of hot potatoes. which he covered with the gravy. He was "happy, happy, happy". I think the gravity must be stronger in Lebanon than elsewhere. On a Sunday morning when the place was already crowded enough that there was a 20 minute wait, it was a constant barrage of dropped silverware. Annoying as hell. But the food was good and the service was good and that's what counts. French Toast for Mrs. K and she enjoyed it. Uncle Hershel's breakfast for me and I enjoyed it. All cooked exactly as ordered. What is wrong with this Cracker Barrel? We were seated promptly, but that was the only thing they did right. First, our server told us the " She would be right back" as she passed us. She then waited on 2 other tables, serving food to one and refills to another. Finally we ordered our drinks and food simultaneously. She brought our coffee and iced tea about 5 minutes later, but his tea had a dead fly at the bitty of the glass!! After 30+ minutes we stopped her and asked if we were ever getting our food, and she went to check on it.....and promptly returned with our meals, saying, "Good timing, they were just plating this and I brought it right out." My French Toast was cold and his bacon & eggs were not very hot, it had obviously been sitting out and waiting for a while. The manager apologized, used the "short-staffed" excuse, and offered 4 times to remake it; I refused that offer 4 times and did not want to wait another 30+ minutes. She finally offered to comp my meal, and I left without eating breakfast. We ended up paying $20 for his meal, a coffee and iced tea and milk.....$0 tip! read more

I had never been to a Cracker Barrel before , and my family had a wonderful experience here . Our waitress was the absolute sweetest ( even working with a boot on her leg ) . Our breakfasts were delicious , and we bought a couple little games for a few dollars from the gift shop to keep us busy while we waited. Our toddler spilled his water everywhere and they were so sweet with helping us clean it up . When we went to check out , the lady at the counter told us we had been a bright spot in her day . Hands down the worst Cracker Barrel I have ever been in. We have eaten there and ordered takeout for several years. They continue to get worse and worse!! Takeouts always have something missing. Manager on 2-17-23 was completely wortbless for help. Refused to take a replacent order on the phone to make up for the item them left out so we had to drive 20 miles round trip and wait twice for them to get it ready. No apologies from the wothless manager who was eating so she could not be bothered. If you can't do takeout right, stop doing it at all!!! And get management that actually cares. I wish I could give this location no stars. We arrived at 1050am this morning and truthfully knew it would be busy because it is Saturday. The wait time was 20-25 minutes. We didn't get sat until 1140. Me thinking it's biscuits and gravy type food didn't think it would take another 40 minutes for our food and drinks. Our server seemed new which I am not judging but over all. Our experience here was not a pleasant one considering the wait time and still not receiving our food. We are now asking for it to go because we have had to wait so long and have a full day ahead of us. Will definitely NOT be coming back to this location. read more
