I'm not sure why this place has such low reviews? I stopped here on a Wednesday evening around 8:30pm after traveling all day from Florida and with nothing to eat since breakfast. I was really looking forward to a good meal. I was greeted by a friendly hostess and promptly seated. For my meal, I chose the Country pot roast with my two sides being sweet carrots and baked cinnamon apples ($15.49). I also got the grilled sourdough bread in lieu of biscuits or rolls. Coffee was my choice of beverage ($3.49). The food came out in hardly no time at all and it was piping hot. The pot roast was delicious - truly a great comfort food when on a long road trip! The carrots and apples were excellent and the grilled sourdough was fresh, hot, and perfect! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It was a relaxing atmosphere as there were very few customers and this made for a quiet and pleasant experience. This place gets 5 stars by me. Give them a try. read more

This is a review of their breakfast. We were seated right away and the employees were friendly and attentive. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. We all enjoyed our food, but a couple things I noticed. I went with an older couple that appeared confused by the newer menu. They were also a little miffed that having whipped cream for the pancakes is now an extra cost item. These are people that remember when you sat down at the Cracker Barrel, the waitress would bring you free biscuits and gravy if they thought you didn't have enough food on the table. Angel was a great server! From the delicious biscuits to the wonderful pancakes, fried apples, steak, and eggs, everything was delicious. Cooked perfectly. It's a beautiful area in Tennessee as well. Haven't been to Cracker Barrel in a long time. I don't know if it's the cook here or what but the turnip greens were horrible and bland and dry and the green beans were totally bland right out of the can and mushy. The chicken and dumplings were good and the biscuits were good and hot.... Felt like the server rushed us out didn't even offer dessert brought the check and was done waiting on us like we didn't matter, We weren't even halfway done eating..... and I wanted a tea to go ‍ I do like the whiter paint and the shelving in between feels more bright and cheerful ! Everyone whom I have had been in contact with that works here has been an absolute joy to talk with. I personally think that sometimes policy is not always for the best interest of the establishment though and in certain humanitarian situations it should not require questioning. As for pick up orders every time I have ordered I am missing utensils, condiments and some times more than not I am missing a side. For what this establishment is for our town, it is very well maintained as one of our top sit down restaurants in Manchester. If I see or hear anything different than what I have experienced I will change my review. read more

Stopped in tonight with my wife for dinner. Its the first time I've been to a Cracker Barrel since the out of touch new CEO has taken over. What a disappointment! I have lived in middle Tennessee since 1970. We were here when Cracker Barrel was founded right up the road in Lebanon TN. I saw the unbelievable potential and bought all the stock I could get my hands on and over the years it had done very well for us. That is until the new CEO took over and changed everything that made Crackle Barrel perform as it has from the beginning. Well that is now a thing of the past. This particular restaurant was one of the unfortunate locations that has been remodeled with the new sterile cold uninviting decor. This location also offers the new alcohol offerings including what they call a margarita. I don't see where a margarita fits in this theme restaurant but me being a fan of many of the local Mexican restaurants, I thought I would give it a try. Big mistake! Tasted lie kerosine with sugar. You could get better at the corner convenience store in a can for a forth of the price. So after this major disappointment I told our waiter that I really appreciated his good service and his willingness to take the drinks off the bill but I felt that the new CEO had destroyed the Cracker Barrel we had all grown love along with millions of others. He got offended and walked off and and ignored us from then on. On a brighter note when I mentioned my feelings to the cashier, she said that yes the new CEO has changed a lot of things and that I was certainly not alone in my feelings. read more

They weren't so we got the table (10am) and ordered our coffee and waited. And waited. And waited. About 10 minutes later the boys texted saying they decided to go elsewhere. This set the tone for our visit being that we would not have picked Cracker Barrel left to our own devices. Curb appeal: basic Ambiance: classic barrel. Nothing special Food delivery: we ordered at 10:18 and received it at 10:56- long wait for the food. Nearly 40 minutes for eggs, bacon, and gravy. Must be the tots fault. I got the loaded tots. 8-24-2025 We went in at 10:15 this morning. Waited about 10 minutes for a table. Got seated ordered drinks. The water was disgusting. Waitress respond i know. Got the wife a diet coke. Ordered 2 eggs each biscuits and gravy w bacon. Waited 55 minutes still no food. Watched as no food was coming out of the kitchen at all. People looking around. Finally told to waitress to bill me for the coffee and coke .paid and left. Note waitress said they were busy that's the reason food was take so long. Cracker Barrel is a place that's popular all around. You're always greeted with a smile and on a busy night weaving through the crowd to reach the hostess stand. You can find a Cracker Barrel at just about anywhere close to an interstate in the south. It's prob a favorite of mine because of the different options they provide from breakfast to dinner. There is so much to choose from, you just hope that whatever you choose is going to be good that day. Tonight's meal was rather pleasing and seasoned well all around. The atmosphere is always pleasant. There is nothing like sitting near the fireplace on a cold winter evening and feeling every bit of warmth from the flames and hearing every crackle and pop from the burning wood. I recommend this Cracker Barrel (not all are good) to all those passing through on I-24 you can't go wrong. read more

The last few times I've been to Cracker Barrel, it's really missed the mark. My wife still likes it though. Two times ago, we were told they were out of dumplings, fries, chicken, and like three other things. We wound up just leaving. The last time, I tried something new, hoping it would be better. I got the Sirloin steak dinner, with carrots and broccoli for my sides. I ordered it medium rare. The food came, and while the person next to me got broccoli, I was told they ran out with hers and asked if I'd like a different side. I said yes, the baked beans. My steak was brown throughout, and grisly. It was pretty much inedible. I eventually got the beans and they were also terrible. I left half my steak and most of the beans and only elate the carrots. We got seated after waiting for 20 mins. Waiter took our order and was being really weird/rude. Not sure why but I noticed her treating other tables a lot nicer and when she would get to us it felt like she was judging us for some reason. Im a tattoo artist and have some face piercings that people might not like but I mean she had tattoos so it makes no sense to me lol. Anyways we waited 11/2 hour -2 hours for the manager to come to our table and tell us she didn't know how but the order had been lost and they couldn't find it for some reason. No idea what happened to it and if we wanted biscuits while we waited for our food that was just then being made. We eventually got up and left withought saying anything because we had a two hour drive back home (which would have been done if we hadn't of waited there for nothing) 2 hours is a long time to wait for someone to tell you they lost your order It was also not that busy it was like 2pm read more

I was excited to visit Tennessee for the first time and experience old country home style cooking of the area. The event I was attending was catered by Cracker Barrel, so having home style goodness delivered directly to us from Saturday - Monday sounded like a pretty sweet deal! Looking back, I don't think you could pay anyone to eat this food knowing what we know now.... Do give it a try if you're curious and have money to throw away. The pro's. Here goes, trying really, really hard to be positive here! Cracker Barrel catering was on time for all three meals for each day of the event. The food was packed up in partitioned to-go trays complete with a main, two sides and biscuits (on most days) and a corn bread on the last day. Dessert was available in a separate container. Plastic (non-compostable) cutlery was available as well. This was the only thing Cracker Barrel had going for it. -no wait, there was bacon one of the mornings. My friend said that was par. So, punctuality, packaging and bacon. There you go, the pros of the place. How I really feel (basically all cons... sorry!!): My friend paid $200 for her meals and skipped on buying me the veg meals since it wasn't even guaranteed. Who does that? "Pay us money and we might provide you veg meals if we feel like it."? My friend received 7 meals total. She probably would have spent less and covered the two of us by Door Dashing food to the park from pretty much anywhere else and had better quality food honestly. Even the neighboring gas station mini mart food might have been better. For context, she did enjoy instant mashed potato in a cup + one chicken bouillon cube, something I had picked up from Walmart. To paint a proper picture of this "experience", the food was reminiscent of the childhood horrors of "mystery lunch". Mysterious slop the grumpy lunch lady with a cigarette half hanging out of her mouth flings onto your tray as ash floats down to garnish your delectable mystery meal; something that you poke around with your fork, take a sniff so you can writhe your face in repulsion, then escort that tray straight into the trash bin. -and theeennnn feel guilty about the non-compostable plastic tray that contained said wasted food which you sent off into landfill. So many disappointing feels! Ugh! I'll tell you right now, unless you enjoy buttered corn, there's nothing for you here! NOTHING. Maybe at other Cracker Barrel locations, but for sure not this one! You're better off saving your money and enjoying corn kernels straight out of the can. - No butter needed because lightly salted canned COLD corn would be magnitudes better than the meals my friend received. To be fair, she really gave every single meal a shot and couldn't bring herself to eat any of it except some of the corn and potatoes. The biscuits were super dry, hard and not good even when we attempted to salvage them by dousing in melted butter! The corn bread (only offered once) was disgusting. I don't know what kind of restaurant you are operating if you can't even get corn bread right. Nothing about it tasted good. It was salty, dry, and had a really weird putrid flavor about it. I had one nibble and spit it out. My friend didn't bother having any based on the smell and my reaction. Off the top of my head, the mains across the days we picked up food were: a tough meatloaf, (questionable greenish-hued & tough even though it was served hot) seasoned "chicken", biscuits & gravy, chicken & dumplings. Sadly, my friend ate none of it. Some of the meat dishes were too tough to tackle. The gravy for the biscuits was bland and overly salted, and the chicken & dumplings dish didn't look appetizing from the outset. Upon taste test, my friend said the texture of the dumplings were really mushy and off-putting, the chicken & dumplings not quite discernible from each other when you look at the slop. That was sad because she wanted real, hot food and the chicken & dumplings were a massive disappointment, especially when they're a comfort food of hers. After running 130+ miles, I don't think people are as picky about food anymore. I think it says something when she wasn't able to put down any of this after running for days already. I'll reiterate here though that the corn was par and that she did enjoy the bacon. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics of the food since we threw them all away so soon after. I guess you could say I was worried my iPhone would break if I attempted to make it capture this "food"! I was able to clip a pic that had the meatloaf though. I've never had a negative experience at Cracker Barrel - until now. I ordered a veggie plate; dumplin's, mac & cheese, green beans, and okra. All of it was cold. I asked the waitress to heat it up. She brought it back - still cold. When she asked if it was better, I told her no. She offered to heat it up because she had only "re-dipped," whatever that means. At that point i gave up. The dumplings were just one big dumpling I had to cut myself only to find it wasn't done in the middle. The cornbread muffins were cold and also not done in the center. Very disappointing. The quality of the food has gone down as has the service. All the healthy breakfast options have been taken off the menu such as egg whites(or egg substitute), turkey bacon and oatmeal. 1/7/2024 Had catfish and vegetables and country vegetable plate. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. I've eaten at this Cracker Barrel twice in the last few months and I find it to be the best tasting in the area. This is the worst managed Cracker Barrel I have ever been too. First of all, we came here because they are supposedly RV friendly. We are driving coming to the RV parking & it is full of cars & regular trucks so we drive around just looking for anywhere that we can fit. We ended up having to park sideways in about 5 regular spots. We go to the door & there is a line to put your name in right at the door which backed up the crowded entry. Why not just do it like all the others at the hostess stand & not cause a jam at the door??? We were told the wait would be 50 -60 min. We waited about 15 at the most probably because everybody else didn't want to wait an hour. I haven't even had the food yet but this place needs help! read more

This was the WORST Cracker Barrel experience ever!! We subbed regular hash browns for the hash brown casserole, which or server told us was perfectly fine. Then when our food came out, no hash browns. waited 15 min for them to come out after all our food was already cold. asked them to remake my eggs so they could be warm when I ate with my hash browns. So finally we got all the food together. Then when bill came they tried to charge us for hashbrowns which were already part of our meal we chose! asked server to take it off, 10 min later she came back and said "just so you know we will charge next time". it was already part of our freakin meal! worst experience ever and they were so rude and took forever! sub par food as well. never again! I was purposely charged for 2 meals!! my daughters chicken was cold and dried up. So I asked could they please bring her some hot chicken. The server said it would take 30 min. She said fine and kept her water downed dumplings, Broccoli and her cornbread. I gave her some of my meal as we ate. The place was packed and our server was over welled with 2 large tables of about 10 people. A couple behind us was about to walk out. Anyway my daughter is a server at Cheesecake and understood the problems. After my daughter received the fresh chicken she ate some and we ask for the ticket. The waiter went back to get the ticket 3 times. Finally brought it and he apologized for the ticket being wrinkled up. I said no problem hang in there. He said his manager had told him to charge us twice. However he didn't feel that was fair. HE WAS CORRECT. He gave us the old ticket , I paid and was charged twice for the same meal. I was a shocked. The girl at the register made it right but told me it would take 5 days to get my money back. So in the old days the manager would come out an say sorry for the cold food and probably not charge for the meal. It's a good thing I love Cracker Barrel and I have faith in other locations. This was the worst. Our server took our order and we never saw her again, and not just our table. Other people who came in after us got served first.... Our drinks never came out, the other table got someone's attention before we did, but that employee took care of us too. We NEVER saw our server again. I'm a great tipper. We insisted they remove the original server from our order. Food was okay, but not picture perfect. Like I said, I have faith in other locations. Clicked I'm here on the email and entered the parking space we were in, waited 15 minutes no one came, tried calling no on answered waited another 10 minutes then went inside to get order and was told it would have to be remade so either it was thrown away or they never made it in the first place. No discount or apology was offered and I had to wait over 20 minutes more for the food that I had ordered online nearly 2 hours prior that should've been ready when we arrived. Had a lovely dinner last night here. Brought our daughter out for her birthday dinner. I am pretty regular with what I get regardless of specials. I love the Sampler Platter - Meatloaf, Chicken dumplings and choice of sugar ham or country ham. I change that part occasionally. Daughter had Pancakes and bacon. My other half had the Shrimp dinner that's on the Spring menu this time of year. All great food and servings. Very nice staff and very clean and tidy as always. Basically I just wanted to give everyone a shout out and say "THANK YOU so much for bringing my daughter a huge piece of chocolate cake and ice cream! " Super sweet and she loved it so much.
