Celebrating my Dad's 80th birthday. Just a simple breakfast for my parents and and lunch for me. The waitress absolutely would not engage in conversation. The only time she would speak was to ask about our order and even that was in a rude tone. When bringing out the biscuits and gravy, the dishes were slammed on the table. The same with our order. The only time she didn't speak rudely was when my Dad gave her her cash tip. This is a really good Cracker Barrel! Eaten here several times this year and it's always been great and employees always friendly. The food has come out quickly and been really good - love the chicken tenders, smoky grilled chicken, meatloaf, fried okra, baby carrots, fried apples, corn and biscuits. Service and food have gone severely downhill lately. When the server brings your buttermilk biscuits, they're supposed to be hot and soft, not hard like a rock. The mashed taters were also hard. We had a small family breakfast at this Cracker Barrel in White Pine, TN and our server Sandy was excellent. Sandy was so nice and our meal was hot, correct and there was nothing else she could have done, it was perfect. As we were exiting, I questioned the cashier to check on a Cracker Barrel product that was out of stock. As I was exiting I heard a voice from behind a clothing rack, "there is some in the back, let me get it for you. The service and ambiance of Cracker Barrel is always enjoyable but the food was a disappointment. I had the country fried steak with hash-brown casserole and green beans. The casserole was "stale" and cold. The green beans were cold as well but the country fried steak was good and hot. My boyfriend got the cinnamon swirl french toast which was delicious but his side of eggs and bacon were both old and cold! I wish there were heating lamps at least our food sides could sit under while waiting for the main entree. Women's bathroom smelled of urine (per my wife), mens bathroom was out of paper towels. When we mentioned this to the host we were told "well, we were busy today so what do you expect". Sat at the table for 15 minutes before anyone took our drink order. After placing our order (two breakfast meals) we waited over 40 minutes for our food. We stopped from our day of travel tired and hungry. We ordered originally the bone in fried chicken dinner. The manager called us to say they ran out of bone in chicken. He was kind enough to give us optional choices. We selected the boneless fried chicken breast, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, & rolls. The food was hot and delicious. The staff friendly and efficient. We decided to have a Family Thanksgiving at home. We had our dinner catered by Cracker Barrel. We were not looking forward to the hour wait to be seated. Our curbside pick up time was 1:30 PM. By far the worst experience I've had at cracker barrel. I don't know where to begin. The receptionist was freaky looking, our waitress looked like a clown. If I had wanted to go to a circus I would not had been there. The waitress gave us our cornbread with no napkins or plates. The food came and we had to ask for our drinks. My husband's meal was to have brown gravy on his hamburger steak and didn't. Had to ask for that. It was over cooked and dry. Told them he wanted it medium well. It had no moisture or taste. My plate came with fries in my mac and cheese. Some people like that, I don't. My fries were soggy and cold. The only thing hot was my fish and my temper. Very poor service. Not once were we offered refill on our tea. Staff needs better training. They apologized, said they were busy. The area in all section may have had 30 people in total. Another Cracker Barrel epic fail! Did curbside pickup while on the road. I got the biscuit breakfast with ham. I got two tiny tiny tiny pieces of ham and no biscuits! A couple of friends and I ate lunch at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant located just off Exit 8 in Morristown, Tn on 10-21-22. Am not sure of the name of our waitress but she had huge artifical eye-lashes and an unpleasant look on her face. It was more that obvious to me that our waitress was not even close to being a "happy camper". She tossed our wrapped silverware onto our table, got our order wrong on several items and for the most part didn't check back with us to find out if we were in desperate need of anything. We knew very well what kind of poor service we would most likely get because we had had the same waitress once before. It is more than difficult to enjoy a meal when the waitress has a somewhat hostile attitude. Because of this less than positive encounter we have simply decided to keep our distance from this Cracker Barrell for the forseeable future! read more

we ordered our food and said it would be ready by 6:25pm, and I received my food by 7:00pm. All they would tell me is it will be ready soon and nobody was willing to go check on the food. 'aybe other locations are better but this one is truely awful on service and speed. P.S I would not kill you to answer a phone even with the new system in place. Once again before I write this review I have to advise I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants. Unfortunately we didn't have many options in this part of Tennessee. During our road trip we stopped here for a quick bite. My wife went with the sampler. It was chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and a ham steak. The chicken and dumplings were edible, the ham steak was overly salted and the meatloaf was dry. The green beans were the best part of her meal. They also forgot her biscuits. I went with the chicken club. Terrible! The tenders were something a toddler would have. They also forgot my cole slaw, my corn was beyond overcooked and mushy. Lastly, the banana pudding. We had to try it because we were in the south. We had high hopes but again were let down. It was so watery, it was gross. I would not eat here or at another cracker barrel again. read more

This location is conveniently located within walking distance of the Hampton Inn. Service was slow but friendly considering the place was pretty packed. The summer baked beans were good. They should have those on the menu all year round. The Lemon Pepper Trout was nice and light. I considered the Friday Fish Fry but decided to go a little healthier. Except the biscuits were exceptionally delicious tonight so I had to have half of one. My husband ended his all carb fest (chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese) with the banana pudding. I had a couple of bites and it was delicious considering I don't like bananas. Went to this CB the 1st time about 2 years ago and it was awesome! The time before today that we went it was only so-so... today was the last time we'll be going in. The 1st problem was the table they took us to, it was against a wall with a group of large men sitting next to it so the room for sitting us was very small. We asked if we could sit at a nearby table and were told "no, that's a different server and I already assigned you here" STRIKE 1 We then placed our order, a fried chicken sandwich and a burger, and she bought it with no napkins for us. If you ever had those items from CB, you know napkins are needed! It took her 5 minutes to come back with 4 napkins. The other issue was the sandwiches had 8 fries each with them. We asked if some of them fell off or something and she said they are limited to 8 fries each (what the heck???) Combined for STRIKE 2 Last the fries and fried chicken had that foul aftertaste that you only get from not changing the fry oil. Disgusting and STRIKE 3 NEVER AGAIN! read more

Well, my wife and I love the Cracker Barrel. When we are traveling, we will argue with our kids to eat at the Cracker Barrel because it is good home cooked tasting food. Sadly, I think it is going downhill. Like so many things, when they got bought by Wall Street, they lost what made them really good. The last few experiences have just been ok. They seem more concerned with selling you a mimosa than biscuits. We came on a Friday night and I got the Friday special, fried fish. Sadly, when it came out, the fish was cold. Not lukewarm, but cold! To me, that is call sushi and I don't like sushi. I can't believe that these words would come out of my mouth, but I am leaving the Cracker Barrel to go get something from McDonalds. That is a sad day. read more

There is always something missing when ordering takeout. This time it was a the side of okra requested with one of the chicken sandwiches. Ordered two chicken sandwiches with lettuce and tomato only. Got home to find out they added a bad tasting sauce, bacon and pickles. Neither of us could eat them. Always check everything in your order before leaving with it. This was my first cracker barrel experience and the food and atmosphere was pretty great. After driving for 14 hours from ny, we were pretty tired, hungry, and looking for some place to rest and get breakfast. The service was excellent here and the fireplace kept us warm while we ate The country fried steak was a bit dry, but its ok because the gravy saved it. The biscuits were pretty buttery and amazing! The french toast tasted like I was munching on a cinnabon The rest just tasted like regular breakfast food so let the pics speak for the taste! While traveling, I stopped at Cracker Barrel to get some food and use the restroom. After waiting for 10+ minutes at the host stand for a server to grab my order, I gave it to the host to pass along to the server so I could excuse myself to the restroom. I was instructed to pay at the front counter and it would be out shortly. I went to the counter twice within 20+ minutes of placing my order) to hear that my order had yet to be placed. I spoke to all 3 hosts, and asked if they could check on it for me. I even told them the name of the man that took the order for me. I guess they never followed up? I was standing at the host stand the entire time waiting for the food or further instruction. After a total of thirty minutes of waiting, I went back to the counter and they said my order was just placed 2 MINUTES ago! It was a simple vegetable plate - food they literally scoop out of a warmer. The cashiers explained that it is Sunday and it was 7 pm and that's such a busy time for them... which I would understand if it were actually busy... at no point was there even a line at the host stand, the parking lot was not even remotely crowded. BUT that's not even what matters. It's the fact that it took nearly 30 minutes for my takeout order to be placed and nobody cared, at all. I managed restaurants for 7 years. If this happened in my establishment I would have gotten the manager to speak to the customer and make things right. At least show some sense of concern for your customer. When I was given my check for $15 I was surprised it was that much in the first place (20+ meals for under $10... alright). I told her I would pay once I got the food, I had a bad feeling it would come out cold or something; due to the trash service I already received. I very politely expressed to the cashier that this hasn't been a good experience and that's when she played the blame card (being "super busy"). No remorse at all - trying to justify unprofessional behavior. I'm in my twenties driving 6 hours by myself. I thought I was stopping at a safe place with consistently great food and service, but I was wrong. When the cashier relentlessly made excuses, I said never mind and left. She let me walk out, without even attempting to make things right, or even apologize. I know things can get crazy, but the fact that I spoke with FIVE people (3 hosts, 2 cashiers) and nobody could communicate my order to the kitchen, literally steps away, for 30 minutes is ridiculous. So glad I got to leave this restaurant hangry and dissatisfied. Get it together people. read more

WOW!! We ate dinner there last night. We haven't visited this restaurant in six months. They don't bring you bread before you order anymore, and when they do they only allow you one small apple butter for the entire table, two jellies and she said if we wanted more it would be .50 cents each. I ordered the sirloin medium well, and it came out rare. What use to be a packed restaurant, especially on a Friday night had only about 20 cars in the parking lot which surprised us as we pulled in. I can see why no one visits there anymore. Everything else was fine. They did take the sirloin off my bill. I don't think we'll go back there even though it's only 15 minutes from home. Not much else in the area if want a sit down dinner. Staying here for work so besides fast food this is your only choice. Decided to get a healthier dish which I was surprised they had. Decided to get the grilled chicken with a enormous baked sweet potato and sliced apples. Chicken was cooked well not much flavor and definitely needed the bbq sauce. The apples were fresh and sweet potato just make sure you know the potato comes with butter on top which you could scoop off and a side of brown sugar. Next time would ask without it. Upon walking in to this establishment they have a great selection of spring items... The restaurant was packed, as there was a tour bus that stopped in here. However, we was seated right away. We had a party of 5..the drinks took alittle time to get to the table, the waitress was very nice. The food was delivered rather quickly. Much faster then we all expected.
