This place is real dirty; dirty booths, dirty walls, and dirty bathrooms. The old lady waitress has real bad breath and an attitude problem. I pointed at the menu and ordered 3 buttermilk pancakes for $4.25, but she charged me for $10.25. When I asked her why I was charged this price she said I didnt order correctly, and that next time I need to say side of pancakes. I still gave her 15 percent tip because she fixed the ticket, but I wont be coming back to this raggedy restaurant! Coffee was terrible as well. read more

Big Bro and I had a great early morning brekkie here at Village Inn on L St. I had the Denver Omelette with hash browns and English muffin. The omelette was perfectly cooked, no runny, raw egg in the middle as so often happens. The filling was generous and it enough for me to make two meals. The hash browns were also perfect--not overly oil laden which also happens a lot. Bro had his eggs over hard and the two pork chops were tender, not dry. The side of pancakes was huge and you can never go wrong with VI pancakes. Since we were the first diners of the day, service was very quick. Shelley, our server, was all smiles and very friendly. Bro is a regular here, but I am not. I might have to change that. read more

Dining on a budget tonight, and if I'm honest, I am DIGGIN' their new farm house renovations! Triple Berry French Toast: so oh so good, with quite possibly real fresh fruit! There was a whole blackberry and then some in there, and the compote. Strawberries felt fresh with each bite, that melded well with the warm French toast, and crisp bacon. No syrup needed on these beauties! Eggs Benedict: with a slightly runny, medium poached egg and a shit ton of hollandaise sauce (yum!). But let's talk about that THICK HAM on each warm and chewy English muffin. All that was missing was the traditional asparagus (it's not an option on the menu, and we knew that) I'm used to. On its own, it's a hearty meal and those extra crispy hash browns went perfect! Strawberry Crepe: keep it simple Lauren, keep it simple... we added a crepe to our main meal (eggs benny) for a little extra. Fresh cool strawberries, encased in a warm melty ooey sweet supreme cream. And a LOT of it too! There's just something about crepe that make me giggle... anyone else?! Snagged two slices of pie for dessert later, or why not... maybe breakfast for tomorrow! A Lemon Supreme for me because I'm the mean one, and a sweet tangy Strawberry Rhubarb for the nice one (aka... not me ). I have been going to Village Inn for more than 60 years -- it's one of the first restaurants I can remember my parents taking me to. So, I am predisposed to liking them through all the bankruptcies etc. I'm glad that some of the outlets are still viable, and those that have made it this far might be better than ever. This location came through bigtime. I needed wifi for about 90 minutes on a Saturday lunch/afternoon. No problem here. I love this village inn! I was in on a Sunday evening and I had never been there for dinner. We had a sweet server named Patty and she was the nicest. I didn't know what to order and she recommended s couple things and I ended up getting the double burger. It was delicious and tall! My onion rings were crispy. My mom also ordered a cheese burger and the fries were delicious! Our server was prompt, kind and honestly had us laughing a couple times. I never really consider village inn to be over the top but she made it a comfortable experience. It was pretty slow, granted it was a Sunday evening. It was quiet even though there were at-least 7 other tables near us. They had the place decorated for Valentine's Day as well! It looked super cute! read more

The place is poorly run and the food is below average. A friend and I ca,e in for lunch. The place looked like kids had a food fight and nobody bothered to clean the floor up. I had the Rueben which was pretty good. My friend had the chicken noodle soup. He said it tasted SOUR and sent it back. The waitress was nice enough but she seemed to be the only one working. Two other employees were off in a corner a corner putting silverware in napkins. Go figure. . If you notice details, like I do, the mens restroom should have been closed until the urinal can be replaced. It's was beyond gross and should've been replaced long ago. . If management doesn't take of the small things, how can they possibly manage the big things? read more

We came in on Sunday, for lunch. Our service was good and the food was nice and hot but, our over all experience was not good because the restaurant was so hot! We couldn't even enjoy our meal without having to go to the restroom to wipe off our faces. We felt bad even being there we were staying at the hotel down the road and we wanted a good home cooked style meal. Our waitress was running around and we felt so bad for her we ended up taking the rest to go because it was so uncomfortable to be there, after we were informed the AC wasn't working. Great value for what you put in at this place! Got a breakfast burrito which is plenty for 2 separate meals and an order of chicken tenders. This burrito doesn't mess around, I think they put each burrito in around 1300 cals so don't eat all of this in just one sitting. The pork had a slightly odd taste to it that left a little more to be desired but the rest of it was top notch, maybe opt out of the pork. The chicken tenders had a choice of 2 sides went with fries and rice both of which were great and the tenders with ranch was pretty solid. Unexpectedly came on a Wednesday which is their free pie day, buy anything there get a free slice of their selected pies! The pumpkin pie was baked superbly, come check this place out!! read more

Went in to village inn late and got a waitress named Amy. She was an absolute delight. So fun to have as a server, compassionate, understanding and all around very kind. Tons of recommendations on what to order. Food was really good although they were out of a few items we wanted, we ended up getting the pot roast and chicken bacon ranch. The food was excellent and that got a 4. The service was lousy and got a 2. The waitress took our order and brought our food fairly quickly, but after checking in once more, we were left alone. Finally had to go to the kitchen and ask for a box myself since the waitress never returned to our table. I would have been happy with a drink refill that didn't happen as well. read more

I can't wait until they get more employees. I do really love the food everytime but sometimes it takes over a half hour for a salad. Some days I have to wait over 10 minutes just to get seated when the restaurant has over half of their seats available or just my ticket . Very unfortunate. I would love to go here for lunch every day but I can't stay for 2 hours.. read more

Someone from Village Inn emailed me and asked if I could type up my experience and email him. He offered to "fix" the poor experience by giving us vouchers to return for a free meal...we never received the vouchers, let alone a reply after emailing him. Food isn't bad. I've been here several times... my grandparents use to love this place. I been there recently... and the food usually sucks. But today... my meal was surprisingly great. I had turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Fresh and yum!!! The server-- Zabrina was verrrrrryyyy nice and welcoming. Probably one of the best servers I've had in terms of her demeanor.... respectful, made small talk... just a great server! She noticed her error in making us wait to get our order in--- so she did offer us a free slice of pie... which made up for it and will contribute to me coming back to V.I. NOW--- the dinning area is remodeled!! BBBBBBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUTTT the bathroom looks like a rest stop in timbuktu that just got public/modern plumbing... ewww disgusting. If I'd walked into that bathroom before, I'd walk right out. Bellevue V.I on Fort Crook needs to remodel their restrooms... I live close to Bellevue and pass by V.I. on a regular basis because of the nasty bathrooms. I'd be there more often for a quick meal if their bedrooms were in better condition. read more

This I'd possible the worst Restraunt, in Omaha. No Service, Wait Staff ignored us, for 20 minutes until we got up and walked out, then they came to the Dinning area. Horrible Service. I wouldn't recommend them or the one on 72nd Street. Do not order the Ruben, it's nothing but Sourkrout, the fries are salty enough to kill a horse.. So...here is the best way to keep a restaurant from getting 5-Stars...have a bonehead regional manager in the restaurant trying to interrupt employee/customer interactions. This guy thought it was so important to point out trivial corrections that he had complete disregarded for the customers. If you want to make suggestions don't do it by putting your customers 2nd to your incredibly important schedule. Service was excellent, food was tasty as always. I'm appalled at the service me and my boyfriend got here this morning. We come here every weekend and never have we got bad service and this time we did not only from our server but from the manager. The minute our food came out we got the bill as well, so we felt rushed when we were eating. It was a struggle to even get the waitress to come to our table.
