Our server Sunny was amazing. Super quick service, and they cooked everything to my specifications. Clean bathrooms, always lots of fun stuff to look at in the store. Best pancake ever!

Had a taste for some good old fashioned pancakes. So I came to Cracker Barrel. To my surprise the pancakes were not up to standards. The butter on top of my cheesecake was solid hard. I looked at them and said, "ok this is not what I was expecting ". My server came back about ten minutes later and asked me was everything ok. I said to him look at the butter on top of my pancakes. He apologized and said let me get the kitchen to make you some hot pancakes to go. To, I came in to eat not to get my food to go. I would advise anyone that decides to eat here, make sure you get your money worth.

Haven't been here in a while so I thought I'd stop by Cracker Barrel for some veggies while I'm traveling up the highway. Always the same with the good vintage treats out front but I was looking for veggies so I got in got a table got waited on immediately as usual, I looked at the menu to see what I wanted. I opted for the turnup greens, the corn, fried okra and mashed potatoes with some sweet tea. Came out very fast. I was very tasty, as well as the cornbread and biscuits. I think I'm used to Local pubs with fried okra being freshly fried as these were clearly packaged and frozen, but they were cooked right and crunchy But for Cracker Barrel growing up as a kid and I'm now in my 60s, and the kid being 20s and 30s I went there for fresh vegetables thinking that was the standard. But today so many restaurants are getting better with their fried presentations of things like okra, fresh, battered, fresh fried, I'd love to see Cracker Barrel go to that metric so it competes more with the local country food places welcomed by everyone. But this was tasty. Good value great service can't go wrong. Highly recommend.

A quintessential…read moremeat-and-three in the Auburn area, Pannie-George's definitely gives patrons a truly southern experience. I've been to hundreds of these local eateries all over the Southeast and will offer my honest opinion. In true Lower Alabama fashion, the fried chicken batter is thin and crispy (not thick and crunchy), the mac 'n' cheese is runny but cheesy, and the pork chops are soaked in gravy. It's delicious comfort food for the after-church crowd pouring in on a Sunday, or customers looking for an affordable bite to eat on a weekday. There are some downsides that prevented my rating from mirroring the stratospheric and glowing reviews on user-driven platforms like Yelp. While the batter is wonderful, the chicken is dry. The rice is uneventful. And the mac 'n' cheese was a little runnier than I prefer but wonderfully flavorful nonetheless. The choices for bread were stale Hawaiian rolls or homemade cornbread. For dessert, the lemon pie is quite delicious. And the experience is authentic and enjoyable. I recommend Pannie-George's for a simple, hearty meal.

Fried green tomatoes- wasn't the biggest fan of pimento cheese, but if that's your thing I'm sure it would have been delicious. I had the strawberry / spinach salad. It was decent but a little too much dressing on parts and a bit dry in others. The biscuits were a star of the other meal. Sadly, no lattes... the only other bummer was that the waiter forgot my cocktail. He apologized when I asked for it... I know accidents happen

I believe it effected some of the flavors of foods that were boiled in it, too. Gnocchi had some of the same off flavor. In addition, some of the flavors just feel way out of whack for totally unrelated reasons. Sauce that the duck came in was thin and overwhelmed by honey. The risotto it was served with seems like it should be rich and homey. But despite a crazy amount of added dairy still tasted thin and flat. Can't tell you why. Wonky seasoning? None of the dishes reflected any familiarity with acid to lighten or balance a dish. Fried green tomatoes were pretty mid despite a quality remoulade and a bunch of pimento cheese. Ingredients seem like they're decent quality. Desserts are legitimately top notch. Everyone recommends the peanut butter pie. And it is excellent, though pretty obviously not long out of the freezer. The affogato Is legitimately fantastic. And I'm not even talking about the pageantry of dumping the espresso on the salt ice cream. The combo is legitimately satisfying, like a well-rounded creamy candy. The plates are funky and cool and beautiful. The staff all seem like they're 19, attractive, and gregarious.

First, our server introduced herself and explained the buffet menu, which I appreciate. She was very attentive, and I think she refilled my drink a total of three times during my meal. The food options at the buffet were great. The biscuit bar offering sausage gravy, tomato gravy, and shrimp étouffée as a topping was phenomenal. I sampled the étouffée and sausage gravy, and the homemade biscuits all were really good. On the second morning that I went down for breakfast, not nearly as good of an experience. The young lady who is our server, just didn't seem like she wanted to be there, polar opposite from the previous day. Our table wasn't stocked with sugar only had a pepper shaker had to ask for both. Somehow the same hot gravy that I had enjoyed the day before were luke warm some reason, maybe just caught it at a bad time. I didn't have more fruit options out on morning too, which I did appreciate as well. I think the poor service just soured the experience. The third morning I went down for breakfast, there was a long line waiting to be seated. And the person that appeared to be seating people as the hostess, was the same server from the day before. I came back about 30 minutes later, and there was still a line so I decided to skip breakfast. I will definitely give this one another shot, when we return to Auburn for leisure based on that first Days experience and re-rate if warranted.
