I'm just going to start off by saying that I really love Cracker Barrel. But not this one. Some Cracker Barrels are good and others are like a box of chocolate where you never know what kind of food, service, etc. you're going to get. I went on a Wednesday night, since I was traveling down to this part of town to stay the night at my friend Jason's house after we had dinner here. I ordered water to drink, and Jason ordered a water too. However, we waited 30 minutes before someone even came to take our drink order. Then, we waited 20 more minutes for our drinks. And when they did give us our drinks, they poured some water (quite a good bit of water) on my clothes and my hair. I was MAD. I asked "Excuse me sir, but WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR!?!". And he said "I don't give two (insert bad word). Then, he left, and when we ordered I got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and okra. I was told there was no more mashed potatoes. But there were TEN plates of mashed potatoes sitting in the kitchen. My friend ordered the fried chicken with green beans, and we ordered some biscuits. Was told there were no more biscuits, even though there were at least over 50 biscuits in the kitchen. Our food was horrible, the meat was cold, they forgot to bring potatoes, biscuits, and okra. And they got food all over my clothes. They also got our orders wrong, and we had to correct them 5 times. Then they literally just threw the food at our faces. Nice going. Then we paid, and left without even getting an apology from the manager or somebody. Never going here again. read more

This Cracker Barrel has proven to have low and inconsiderate customer service. I've had issues in the past but never made a review until now. Today I placed an order online and followed protocol for online curbside orders. I parked in a curbside spot, called the number for curbside orders and told them my parking spot number and name for my order. The young girl said that they would be right out with my food. About 20 minutes later I call again and asked how long it would take until I got my food. She cut me off before I could remind her of my name or parking spot number and put me on hold for another 10 minutes. I then decided to just go inside to see what was going on. When I got to one of the two young girls at the cashier and asked for my order, it was sitting right behind her on a shelf and was the only one there at the time. The pick up time on the receipt was for 1:21, I got there at 1:30, but I did not leave until 2:00. So for 30 minutes my food was sitting on a shelf getting cold, even though I called and told them I was right outside. Absolutely ridiculous. I'll be calling and speaking to the manager about this as well. Update: The girl who answered when I called afterwards put me on hold AGAIN until I was all the way back home. UNINFORMED, SLOW STAFF INCAPABLE OF GETTING ORDERS CORRECT. We made a phone order for our office and were transferred to one of the "chefs". The person picking up our food was informed at the restaurant that one of the items ordered was no longer being served when they got to the restaurant and not over the phone 20 minutes prior from said chef. They had to wait there for another 30 minutes for the staff to prepare our meal. No rush priority on our order after their mistake even though they were at fault. When the food finally got back to us the order was not correct. Food is low grade and bland. We will never order from this place again. read more

Good, home-cooking, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly service. The Cracker Barrel here in Rosenberg is a wonderful place to bring friends and family. I love the biscuits - they always remind me of the biscuits my Grandmother used to make. I've always tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. It's so inviting when you walk in, you just expect a good old fashioned breakfast, that makes you want to hurry home and tend to the heard. However, they just fall through every single time. Their hashbrown casserole is their only saving grace, the biscuits coming in at a close second. Everything else is horrible. The grilled chops are the worst, no flavor what do ever. I didn't think it would be possible, but they've gotten even SLOWER in terms of service. We decided to stop in for an early dinner on Saturday and even called in advance to give them a heads up since we had a larger party. Not too surprised, but when we got there, nothing was ready. There were barely 3 other parties in the entire restaurant yet we were still waiting a good 20 minutes before being seated. The worse! Ordered French toast more like egg smeared on toast vs bread dipped in egg wash. Sent them back and asked for pancakes. She literally came back one minute later with pancakes. They must've been siting under a warmer. The top layer was had and cool, underneath mushy pancakes. My husbands sausage patties were pink in the middle. We had to remind them to bring us rolls, which did not arrive until after the food was served, half of which was cold. Had to get up and walk to find a manager. Replacement meal was on table before rolls arrived, then had to ask twice for honey and ask 2 different people for A-1. If I could rate this Cracker Barrel a negative score, I would. We absolutely love CB but this location is absolutely destroying their name. We've just experienced the worst service we've ever received anywhere. That's scraping the bottom of the barrel literally folks. We are always generous with our tips since we both worked in the service industry, but this was pathetic. When we asked for a manager, they didn't even attempt to apologize for this waste of time. I've tried this place twice now and I will not go back nor do I encourage anyone to go to this location. The food is just awful. There is a lot of care and maintenance on the front gift shop but the restaurant seems to be an afterthought. The waitstaff are nice and do their best but the product is sub par. The eggs are either over done to the point of being rubbery or runny and raw. There is no happy medium no matter how you order them. Both times I was there the food came out cold. We were seating immediately after arriving into the store. Our waitress was an older woman who seemed extremely incompetent to be a server. She didn't have answers to a lot of the questions our table was asking, nor did she seem to have a particularly firm hold on managing the tables in her section. She seemed very overwhelmed, forgetful, and service was extremely slow. The "Fresh Start" platter was pretty decent, and that would probably be the only reason I would go back. Dropped in to order take out, and since its cooked fresh, there is a wait time of 30mins after ordering. Our server Ro'Derrick was very friendly. He got our order right even though my sister is picky about her food and asked for crispy bacon, whipped butter instead of packets, lightly browned pancakes, etc. He constantly checked to make sure everything was okay and refilled our drinks several times. Sis had the multi berry pancakes which were a new menu item. She said they were delicious and highly recommended them. Her bacon was crisp just like she likes it. There was so much food that she ended up taking the eggs home for later. I had the chicken fried chicken which was over cooked, extremely crunchy and very dry. The dumplings had a funny taste, so I didn't eat them although I usually like them a lot. My hash brown casserole was okay as usual, but I like to cover it with ketchup, salt and pepper so it may not be for everyone. I ordered grits because I love them, but these were runny and tasteless even with a liberal dose of pepper. I wasn't very pleased with my meal and wished I'd ordered the pancakes. I almost always order breakfast when I go there and that is because it's usually pretty good. They don't seem to do lunch or dinner as well. read more

After a horribly long wait and walking out of olive garden due to failure of service we ended up here. The server was a little slow at getting to the table but as soon as she was there she was very attentive. The food was good. This restaurant is one of my family's favorite places to eat. The kids love checking out all of the toys and nostalgic candy. The have rocking chairs out front which everyone loves sitting at while either waiting for our name to be called or after we eat. Everything about the place exudes country store and home style cookin. I love how you can order breakfast all day. Their pancakes and bacon are delicious. The service is consistently great. Also be sure to ask for the free biscuits and cornbread before your meal. I don't understand how they give away biscuits but then charge you for them as part of a kids breakfast meal. My wife and I decided to eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel the morning before Christmas Day. It was about 8am and there were only two other tables with diners, so they weren't busy. Our waitress came to take our drink order. She return shortly with my coffee and my wife's hot chocolate. Now the trouble started. I ran out of coffee way before our waitress came back to take our order. No excuse for a restaurant that wasn't crowded. We both ordered the Old Timer and it took a very long time for our food to come out. Eggs were cold and the potatoes were barely warm. My eggs were suppose to be medium, but were very runny. The gravy had a milk skin formed on top of it which tells me it was sitting in the bowl for a good period of time. The grits also had a thin skin on top. All the food was either cold or barely warm. While waiting for our food, we could overhear employees talking and laughing on the other side of a wall. Based on the temperature of our food, our waitress was one of them because our food wasn't delivered when ready. The biscuits were pretty good, but that was about it. Our waitress finally returned after we completed our meal and she gave us our check. Cracker Barrel use to be good for a breakfast stop. I'm not sure what happen to them. read more

Went there for breakfast this morning for the first time there. Usually eat lunch there. Was seated quickly and got both menu's, lunch& breakfast. It wasn't too crowded at 11:00. Waitress came by and said be right back. 3 minutes later got my breakfast order. 22 minutes later got my breakfast. Plates were hot and the food too. Hate cold plates with only warm food on it. So you don't have to eat in a hurry to keep your food warm. Only gripe was the expensive ice tea. $2.29 or was it $2.79. My big breakfast was only $7.99 . I have never had a problem here before today. We went here on a Thursday at 2pm. We had to ask to be seated because there was no host. There was also no silverware when we sat down. We were seated and were completely forgotten about. We had to wave a waitress down to serve us. She even admitted she wasn't told we were waiting. On top of everything else, the order my father wanted was ONLY served on Saturdays. How does a restaurant not have rice and chicken? Come on!! That should be a daily thing. I bought 2 Stewart Cream sodas and for some reason, one was fuller than the other. This is absolutely ridiculous. All the manager told us when we complained is that he will "talk to the staff." Absolutely Outrageous! The food wasn't even worth it. My eggs were runny, they only gave us biscuits when we asked for cornbread also, didn't give me the BlackBerry jam I asked for, the lettuce was wilted on my dads's salad and the ranch dressing bowl was oily and my dad spilled the dressing all over the place.
