Everyone knows Cracker Barrel food. So my review is focused on service. Over the last year I have visited this restaurant on 4 occasions, two of which the service was deplorable. Today I actually saw the waitress bite her lip as she walked away from me when asking to switch noodles to dumplings (before our drinks were dropped off, not as our food was being delivered). Great she bit her lip and didn't say something rude, but I expect more out of a 4 star TM from a national chain with high standards. For me, Cracker Barrel is NOT about the food, it's about the experience. Thanks to Rose for ending my evening on a sour note talking about poor service with my family during dinner. The second star is because everyone else seemed OK. But 2/4 poor visits is too many at a national chain for me not to speak up. read more

As full-time travelers, Cracker Barrel is a godsend. We love the food, the store, the porch and the parking lot and the most congenial staff and hospital service any traveler can ask for. Cracker Barrel always has a place for us park our rig and that makes sense for roadside commerce, but it doesn't explain why they're so nice about it. Last night I was tired so we decided to order from door dash. I ordered the 12 pc fried chicken with fries, mac & cheese and a extra box of biscuits. Door dash dropped the order off efficiently. We unpacked everything and started to eat. Unfortunately the chicken was so tough we could only eat the wings. The breasts were so tough you could barely chew it. I ended making a pb&j and going to bed. This morning i also realized that i was missing the extra box of biscuits (5) dollar charge. I spent a lot of money on this order to eat mac & cheese and a few biscuits and wings. Sorry Cracker Barrel I will definitely not be going back. If I do it will be in person Door Dash is getting to pricey anyways. and you really don't have any recourse. Ate here on our way home from our beach day while staying in WDW. Had heard breakfast was the ticket, so that's what I ordered. I had the old-timers (egg, meat, biscuit, grits, hashbrown casserole) hubby had the chicken fried steak and the girls had the mac n cheese. All were yummy. While I do like me some mac n cheese and apple dumplins, my review pertains to this particular location (Crackhead Barrel) Last summer, while inside for 45mins, our car was broken into and had a lot of valuables stolen from it. This was all caught on survailence cameras. Management and employees didn't seem to give two shits, so we assumed this was a common occurance. Later that day, the detective confirmed our suspicion. It probably has to do with it's close proximity to that creepy Flying J. In any case, don't bother eating here. Sure, the food was good, I'll never blame the chefs. The server was also good. But both the manager and the cashier were unhelpful and unsympathetic. Even when we asked for some kind of compensation (comp meal, gift card, a friggin bottle of syrup) they flat out refused and said it wasn't their problem. Karma, baby. Karma. read more

I really like eating at Cracker Barrel. For quite some time now, it's been very disappointing eating at this location. It seemed like they were training new management, and wait staff, so I've been patient. Tonight was the last straw. I ordered the sampler plate. After a bit the waitress came to inform me that they had run out of dumplings, thus no chicken n dumplings, however, the manager had decided to give me extra meatloaf as a substitution. Fine by me. When the food arrived, the meatloaf was COLD! I decided I would eat everything else, take home the meatloaf, and warm it in my microwave. I ordered a slice of apple pie to go, when I requested the to go container for my meatloaf. I did not ask for pie ala mode, but she brought the ice cream in a container too, however, they must have been low on that too, since there wasn't even a full scoop, but barely two tablespoons of ice cream. There is another location a little further away, but not much, so I will go there from now on. They seem to do a lot better. read more

Our family always enjoys our stops at Cranker Barrel when we travel. The food is always amazing and the old country decor is the best to bring back memories. We love to check out the cool stuff for sale in the store and just sit a bit and relax in the rocking chairs. read more

She told me to wait in line for the cashier and she would call a server. Friendly staff, wonderful comfort food, and a cozy setting all for a great price. I love this place. I always go for the breakfast menu, which is available all day. I have been here more times than I can remember and will continue to come back. They are super good with big groups as well as small ones. Terrible service. We sat down and the waitress took order. Then proceeded to take away our salt and pepper and our sugar. Never mind the fact I was completely out of iced tea. Then she brought 1/2 my order. I spoke to the manager and he said he did not care whether or not my tea was out as they needed to get the salt, pepper and sugars ready for the next day. It is 822 pm. Sooner or later on most any long road trip, I'll stop in at a Cracker Barrel for breakfast. When it comes to grabbing a reliable meal off an interstate in some unknown town, Cracker Barrels are pretty good for a chain restaurant. This location is located in the middle of quite a few family members though, so we've eaten here together maybe 5 times over the past 5 years. We met there again a few days ago, and had another excellent meal. My standard breakfast menu choice is the Old Timer, and for other times of the day I usually order the Spicy Grilled Catfish. Both have been consistently good. And there's nothing like gettin' a chance to get my mac 'n cheese on with 2 servings for my 2 sides. We have eaten at lots of Cracker Barrels, usually on road trips. They can be counted on for reliable, consistently good comfort food. It offers lots of kitch, calories, fat and flavor. Breakfasts are especially good, and southern tastes prevail with grits, country ham, biscuits with sausage gravy. Lunches and dinners are similarly hearty, southern menu items...fried chicken/fish, country-fried steak, mac 'n cheese, lots of good veggie side dishes, like greens with pepper vinegar available, peach pie, cobblers, etc.. All is well prepared and served promptly and with warm courtesy. Service and seating slows as they get busy and there are waiting lines at some rush times. While waiting you can browse their exhaustive inventory of nostalgia un-necessaries----toys, candies, mementos, food mixes, gimmicks, gew-gaws & the like. You know what you are getting here and beware of over-ordering so that the over-loads of good stuff in the belly does not put you to sleep 20 miles down the road. read more

S-L-O-W. We arrived around 8:00, got coffee by 8:25 and waited over 25 mins for our food. Checkout took another 15 mins with no one ahead of us due to problems with the register. I thought we would never get out of there and began to lose any hope that we would make our 11 o'clock appointment in Orlando. Not a relaxing experience. I wanted to leave but my husband thought it was too late to go somewhere else. As to the food, there were problems. The sausage patty was chewy and the side of gravy was completely tasteless. My first coffee cup tasted sweet and felt sticky. The next one came with lots of large cracks which I didn't notice until I had drunk it. I wondered - was that the only coffee cup they had left at the time? Is business that bad? We took both the cracked coffee cup and the 1/4" of eggshell on my plate to show the manager. He seemed to go into overwhelm when I mentioned the tasteless gravy. I suggested, he go back in the kitchen and taste it and perhaps give the cook a different position. In the restaurant business, if the food isn't good, the customer won't return. We proceeded to pay but the manager again had to be called to fix the register which he did finally manage to do. My husband was happy with his bacon and eggs on French toasted muffin with blueberry sauce. I want good restaurants to survive but cutting back on help is not the answer. Restaurants are only as good as their last meal. I would recommend only stopping here if you are not too hungry, have plenty of time and patience or like to shop. Also, do not order medium poached if you want your eggs at all runny. I'm a fan of Cracker Barrel and would love to see this turned around. read more

Anyway, we stopped here and once seated I noticed they were advertising a specialty Smores Coffee which sounded good so I ordered it and was told they were out of it--STRIKE ONE. I got a mocha instead and that was just average. We then noticed they didn't have waffles on the menu. WHAT? We were surprised about that and disappointed--STRIKE TWO. What breakfast spot doesn't have waffles? Anyway, looked for an alternate option and asked for oatmeal but wanted it without milk--STRIKE THREE. The waitress said they made it with milk in it so couldn't adjust it. UGH! I ordered 2 eggs with biscuits and they were chalky and bland--strike 4?? Oh well, what a disappointment. read more
