This Cracker Barrel was located on the lazy days RV lot just off I 4 and was super convenient. Should have stuck with what I knew; but was craving a fresh fried chicken tender. Well I guess they buy the frozen ones and not that good ones either. They were thick coated and dry, really bad. The mashed potatoes were dry and very little gravy, however the fried okra was good and the tea was good. Service was pretty good and the table was clean, I guess they don't make all items from scratch any more, sad, 40 years ago when I was a young lad we ate at Cracker Barrel in the Tennessee mountains and everything was homemade and awesome, guess that is not profitable anymore. read more

Visited the Seffner location last night for dinner. My husband had the chicken fried steak. My daughter and I had the grilled pork chops. The chops were ok, but the sides of fried okra was cold and the steamed broccoli was cold and only had very small amount in the bowl, nothing like they usually give. My daughter ordered turnip greens which had green beans and corn that had been dropped in there, Not appetizing. I also had coleslaw which is usually pretty good until I found some strange clump of wire in it. I had already eaten most of it and showed it to the server, which she said hmm, and walked away not showing it to the manager. She had put down the check and we asked for a to go box and never received it or a response to the strange wire in the coleslaw. It was like a clump of wire, not just one. We go to this location often but not sure I'll be going back. Server should of immediately got the floor manager and showed her the wire and approached us with an apology or something. I love going to Cracker Barrel. My wife and I usually start all of our road trips at our local CB. Our trips start with a hearty meal and a book on CD. We love the gift shops and the and service we receive during every visit. I'm writing this review specifically for the location off of I4 in Seffner. I usually meet my parents there for lunch, as it is a halfway point between their home in Mulberry and mine in St. Pete. Our service is always quality, even though this particular CB is always busy. We never feel like the servers are trying to flip the table as quickly as possible. I know that most patrons of CBs are older, much like my parents who are just looking for a good meal with a family feel. My parents are soft spoken and picky eaters, every time we go our servers are patient and attentive to ensure that each order is taken correctly and that my parents are sure about what comes with their selection. Terrible service. I waited with my two small children for over 15 minutes without a server even coming to the table. I walked out and told the hostess we were leaving and she did not care. By far the best experience I've ever had at Cracker Barrel! This store runs like a well oiled machine. We went on the busiest day (Sunday) and were seated quickly. I came in contact with a host, server, busser, manager, cashier, and gift shop worker. Every single one of them were so friendly and beyond helpful. Just a tip, if you can ask for Loy to be your server. His customer service skills are out of this world. Thank you so much to all the staff for such a nice lunch. Food is good. Service lately has been terrible! Working next door, Cracker Barrel is convenient. The last couple times we have gone in there service has been exceptional SLOW! The line to pay has been in to the dining room. Today, the hostess rudely wants to say "i need in here" as she pushed her way through the line to seat a customer. Waited 15 minutes after being seated for our drink order to be taken. We had to flag someone down. It was around 8 PM and not busy. A different waitress came over and took our food order, she wasn't pleasant or act like she was happy about being there. We got our food and my carrots and Mac and Cheese were cold as if they had been sitting out. Got one drink refill. The table beside us was complaining because the waitress never came back. We had the Friday fish catfish special for lunch. The portions were quite generous. The catfish was pretty good, although I'm from Mississippi and this is definitely not the fresh caught and fried that I grew up with. Still though, I was pleased with the crispy coating and the flavor was good. This particular location didn't seem as clean as other Cracker Barrels I've been to. I love Cracker Barrel. This place had great food and even better service. My husband ordered a steak along with his breakfast, and it wasn't cooked to medium the way he wanted it. The waitress even spotted the problem and took it back to be cooked a little longer. She didn't even blink an eye, she was attentive and friendly. Horrid service, dirty facility and now it's new claim to fame - Roach Motel! I don't recommend coming here. We stopped coming about two years ago due to the apathy of the management and staff. The fact that the health department stepped to have them clean up their act in is a direct testament to their general lack of customer care and pride in service. This is to the manger. So long as your employee Loy H continues to be a server until his career changes he is the best server I have come across and take note. I travel often and wide and have had all sorts of experience, treat him well until he progresses into his desired career. My local Cracker Barrel is a nightmare, they cannot get an order right to save their lives even if it's written on paper (Deerfield Beach FL). To actually get an order right, fast, efficient with no issues was amazing. On top of that your staff was probably the only persons to not judge me based upon my clothing. I traveled from South Florida East Coast to Busch Gardens and believe me the looks you get when you're wearing Tripp pants, black shirts and spikes never seem to amaze you, what runs through peoples minds in judgement is worse than the possessions in which I was wearing. read more

Before Today was chaotic I waited 20 mins for a sever till a host ( i think her name was angelina ) came by and ask if she can get me a drink and see where my sever was . As we drove through Florida, we always saw a Waffle House next to a Cracker Barrel and wondered if they had the same owners. Anyway, I loved the country kitsch ... and the food wasn't bad either! I had a $3.99 breakfast that included two featherly light biscuits (had to ask for honey, but they brought me a whole stack), cheesy hash browns, and cinnamon apples (enough to stuff a good sized turnover). I always love the Cracker Barrel when on vacation. It is a trip back in time to grandma's house. The food is decent and very reasonably priced. It is one of those restaurants where you can order the most decadent, fattening meal ever, or something very healthy. From grilled tilapia to chicken fried steak, they have it all. I have never had a good takeout experience here. Usually they just run about 15to 30 minutes longer than what they tell you so i have learned to go later to pickup. However, last time i ordered got there about 15 minutes late and waited and waited. Finally the mgr came and apologized and said they had overlooked my order and that he wouid personally expedite it and package it. After a total of aporix 30 minute wait time he brought the order to my car. I left quickly since i was now late for game night. After arriving at my destination found out the order was cold, missing many items and received items i never ordered. Called the store fuming and mgr offered to replace it but i will not go back to this location. He should have given me my money back, why would i want to go through that again. read more

Had their new french dip with fries....sandwish was very good. Had to ask for the coleslaw sample it says you get... Didnt care for it. My fries were very lightly cooked...don't care for them that way. I also ordered a side of carrots...love them but really? Almost 3 bux for approx 8 carrots? The hubs had a french toast breakfast and enjoyed all of it. Our server seemed very new, we def had patience with him...he'll only get better. Manager came by and was very friendly. I have to call them out by name. Danielle and Preston did a fabulous job! What was really cool is that Danielle was our server and was on point. But Preston, who was cleaning tables, saw me from a distance staring at my plate and came over to see if anything was wrong. I told him "No" and I was just hoping that it tasted as good as it looked. I have eaten at multiple Cracker Barrels, and have always been pleased with the food and service. This one is no different. When we arrived Sunday morning, it was packed, but they are very quick with turn around, and we were seated within 10 minutes. I love their biscuits n' gravy, but they had a delicious looking special that I wanted to try. Strawberry and Lemon French toast. Amazing! Sundays are the best for me, great staff, great food, living in Florida I don't have a fireplace, so I like it when they have it fired up (winter time).
