It would appear that ALL Cracker Barrel restaurants have gone down hill , seemingly after the attempt at a logo change. How this has affected their ability to serve the same great food that they always did, is a mystery. For a third time we have tried them and they are still seriously lacking in all areas. The food is barely tolerable, the servers are untrained and management is unconcerned. Cracker Barrel is permanently off my list as a place to eat. In my opinion, the only thing that is consistent, is how bad they all seem to be. This is based on four locations that we have tried, some of which did not even deserve a one star review. My advice is to judge for yourself. We will never eat at any Cracker Barrel again. It is indeed a shame. They really were one of my favorite restaurants. ZERO STARS. read more

I came in on 8/28/2026 at 11:03 am my server was APIFANY I ordered the country boy breakfast, the ham was cold and overly salty inedible, eggs cold and the turkey sausage that replaced the salty ham was cold. The drink I ordered was the half and half which was overly sweet couldn't drink it passed a sip. I politely asked for it taken off my ticket and the manager on duty was very defensive as well as APIFANY. I strongly feel that if I could not enjoy my meal I should not pay for it. It is against food safety to serve cold food and if I actually ingested the high salt ham and the high sugar half & half tea I would've been in the hospital. The manager gave me back the receipt with attitude and a smirk knowing that she only took .27 off the drink I took one sip of and 1.27 off the country boy breakfast. The quality of this location has gone down significantly and the bathrooms were disgusting as the employees and manager walk in and out of it without cleaning what's obviously dirty. I couldn't even use the bathroom. And the only clean stall was missing a door. I will not be returning to this location, it is gross and the people who work there stare at you funny like they want fight you even when you are nice and trying to be polite. The lady who checked us out with the blue nails was nice but everyone else, the hostess, APIFANY B , the manager with the stale finger wave and the cook with the dreadlocks who lingers outside the kitchen staring at guests all need to be carefully monitored and retrained on customer satisfaction. read more

Recently, I've been to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I have been very disappointed with their service. On numerous occasions, we have ordered something that's supposed to have gone with the meal and it was not there when we inquired about where this item was they said well there's nothing we can do about it. I received my cappuccino and a cup where it was spilling over it was done very sloppily The servers have been less than helpful. OK, that wasn't fair! I guess it's officially summer because I went to Cracker Barrel and ate their campfire roast beef. I mean holy cow. It's just like being a Boy Scout again. We are the take to a table that is no where near ready. There is still a booster in one chair and a highchair in the spot of another, with food still all over the floor from the last family. My husband responds with "wouldn't it be easier to sit us here at this empty ready table?" The seater responded with no, then stands there discussing it with another waitress, while we are left standing at the table waiting for it to be cleaned. So disappointing! We were looking so forward to eating at Cracker Barrel in the Midwest. It has always been a favorite. The waitress was terrific. She was helpful and efficient and had a ready smile. Really great at her job. The greeter/seater woman was a big zero. She didn't even acknowledge us for a while. She busied herself with several other things. Things have changed at Cracker Barrel! Breakfast menu choices has been reduced; possibly by half? We hadn't been to CB in few months, so maybe I'm just late to the party? There used to be selections for those on a carb reduced diet as well as a "senior" menu choice. Food was still good with large portion sizes. I ordered a hot tea and the Bacon N' Egg Hashbrown Casserole (Our scratch-made Hashbrown Casserole, hot off the grill and layered with pieces of crispy bacon, farm-fresh scrambled eggs, melted Colby cheese, fried onions, green onions, and fresh diced tomatoes) with no tomato and toast instead of biscuits. I have had this before and I really like it. I like to put Cholula on it. It wasn't crowded here at all which is nice and my server was pretty quick. This was probably the most pleasant Cracker Barrel experience I have had in years. I do like to look at the candy afterwards and I left with a few fun things. Went here for breakfast, and decided to get a slice of their cinnamon bun pie to take home for later. Got up to pay the bill, and after paying, realized I had forgotten my pie. Went back, and the table was already cleaned off, so I asked the waitress if I could get my pie. Since it had only been a few minutes, I thought she might still have it there, but no. This location is my go to for weekend breakfast when I'm off. The reviews lately are not good and I understand mistakes are made, especially when they do the volume they do here. I am a breakfast food fan here and I have noticed small changes here and there. The bacon is definitely thinner than pre- Covid days which I get. It still all taste as good as ever to me. We then had a waiter almost immediately and put our order in. We then waited over an hour for our food to arrive. When I want to visit my childhood and have pancakes with crispy edges, this is where I go! I'm really simple when it comes to breakfast options. Not only do I love their pancakes, but their sausage patties are delicious too! Usually my cucumber service here is exceptional, but yesterday it was lacking. Me and my mom like to go to Cracker Barrel in Shiloh and Caseyville and luckily we haven't experienced a difference in service at either location. I love the fact that Cracker Barrel has started introducing some different menu items, like the cheesecake stuffed pancakes (PHENOMENAL!) and the biscuit beignets are utterly delish! Also the loaded hashbrown casserole tater tots are a perfect starter too! Love their rotating flavor teas, like peach, blackberry. So delicious!
