we visited the one right off of interstate 20 in Shrevport,La. around 4pm on Sunday July 12,2026 they told us they were out of certain foods that we wanted to order, okay no problem we order something else. I absolutely love Cracker Barrel. I don't have one at home so when I visit the south I always find a Cracker Barrel. This visit didn't disappoint, comfort food at its best with southern hospitality, you can't go wrong. We had been on the road traveling most of the day. Walked into normal Cracker Barrel vibe, Christmas theme items and busy as always. Hostess, managers , everyone but our waitress had a snappy angry rushed attitude. I know it's holiday busy travel season, but back down the attitudes. Food was flavorful but most likely sat on the pass too long, warm on the bottom & cold on top. I understand and not really worried. Stopped at this Cracker Barrel on the way to Texas. It wasn't too busy but we had to wait forever for a hostess to greet us and seat us. Once seated our waitress took our order. I ordered eggs and bacon and it was pretty good. Coffee was just ok, kind of had a burnt taste to it. read more

Where to begin? We were seated quickly despite them being busy. We were handed lunch menus but usually they give you the full breakfast menu as well no matter the time of day but they didn't today. Since our waitress hadn't returned yet I asked a man in a blue polo (Sed?) who was clearing tables and clearly appeared to be a manager if he could get us a breakfast menu. He pointed to the very small breakfast area on the back of the menu and I said thank you but we'd like the full menu which then resulted in a huff and stomp off. He returned and thrust the menu in my hand and said HERE! Our waitress returned with our drinks and took our order. I ordered cinnamon French toast breakfast and my gentleman ordered the breakfast casserole skillet. It took a bit and while we waited our waitress returned with 2 extremely wet plates (we had to dry them off to use) 3 biscuits and 2 jelly's. Worst biscuits I've ever eaten, they tasted like baking soda and were mealy. Finally our food is brought out and it's COLD!! Not lukewarm but COLD! This is ridiculous! I used to be able to trust Cracker Barrel to have great food and be a restful stop on my travels. Apparently this is no longer the case. Just avoid this location at all costs. However, compared to Grandma's classic breakfast, including homemade pancakes, I found that the price of the burger did not justify the quality or portion size and should be less than a regular burger especially for breakfast. read more

This is the worst restaurant I've eaten at. We ate an early dinner here, just after 6 on a Thursday. Very few customers, which should have been a clue! They were out of coffee creamer, Jelly, brown sugar for the carrots or sweet potatoes and the $5 take home meals. According to our server they had been out of most Jelly for 2 days and had run out of sugar free jelly earlier that day. They were probably out of more things that we didn't ask for. The food was good. Just as expected. However, the service and overall management left much to be desired. First, they were out of the ingredients to make the first two drinks that I ordered. Then, our meals were delivered incomplete with long waits in between. For example, my son's meal came with pancakes that came at the end of the meal. Our biscuits, which normally arrive at the beginning came at the end, along with the check. The checkout person didn't even greet us or speak other than to tell our total. When she finally came out of the kitchen eating something she grabbed a few menus and said "follow me" and just walked off. I'm disabled and was with my elderly mother so neither of us walk fast. The hostess was gone. She had already walked off and turned a corner. About the time we got to the corner where she turned she was already on her way back to the front. She didn't say a word to us. We had to look around and find the table with menus on it and assume it was ours. This is horrible customer service. I swear it's like restaurants these days just hire people off the street and don't give them any customer service training whatsoever. You NEVER walk off and leave the customer behind. You walk at the customer's pace WITH the customers. When you reach the table you don't have to wait for the customer to sit but you DO need to wait until the customer arrives at the table before you walk off. You should tell the customer you hope they enjoy their meal or something similar. It's really so easy to do in order to get it right that you shouldn't even need training for this position but with the pool of potential hires we have here you obviously do. read more

He then ordered the chicken fried chicken she said they had. She came back and said sorry they had none of that either. The biscuits we received were hard as bricks and were not edible. We asked for some fresh and there weren't any so she brought cold burnt cornbread. The food we received was cold and the gravy thick and lumpy and in a small condiment bowl. The hash brown casserole was dry and cold. The women's restroom smelled of old stale urine and was a mess. When I told someone up front they just looked at me and said nothing. I wondered why there weren't many people here and I now know why. This really upsets me because our area needs this restaurant very much and hate that local management is not keeping it up to company standards. So sad read more

I always get the same thing, but over the past few years, the quality of the Mama's Pancake breakfast has seriously devolved. The service has as well. Every time I come to this location, the service is worse. This past week I went and ordered my usual with a hot chocolate. There was more hot water than hot chocolate and the whipped cream was a thick chocolate whipped cream not suitable for drinks. The wait was long and I asked for biscuits during the wait. The waiter said "yeah I'm bringing them out." He may not have realized I wanted them for the wait because he brought them out when the food came. Who want biscuits and pancakes idk... Ambiance is whatever. It's Cracker Barrel. Just don't look too closely at the decorations on the wall. My thing is the service at this location is ridiculous. My cornbread for the greens was not in there after she said everything was there. She brought it out with the container turned on its side and green juice was leaking. Nothing against young people but they are consistently very poor at customer service. The young hostess at the front had to go and get the To-Go waitress from the back because she would put her duties off on them and not even come up front to help w/ the To-Go customers she's hired to wait on. I love coming to CB , the young man who was the cashier & the hostesses are the reason I didn't do a 1 star. read more
