LOVE me some cracker-barrel! If you are missing grandma's home cooking this is definitely a place to try. I would recommend almost anything on the menu - country fried steak, chicken and dumplings, southern fried chicken, catfish special, the list goes on. I have never had a bad meal, or much less experience at any of the cracker barrel chains I have visited over the years. The only qualm I have is they do not serve biscuits and gravy! Our waitress was great. My daughter had breakfast which was very good. I ordered a BLT with mac & cheese. While we waited we had ordered a cup of the campfire soup to split. Let me just say I cannot believe what my daughter and I were going experience next.our waitress warned us that with being whole made we could find a bone. Well the whole thing had bones! Hey it's Cracker Barrel. Nothing healthy here, just great food. We were staying nearby and did not want to go into St. Augustine and have to deal with parking. Yelped for restaurants nearby and there was a Cracker Barrel. I had a Chopped Steak with swiss cheese and mushrooms on it with sides of pinto beans and cucumber/tomato/onion salad. Portions were just right. My wife had a BBQ chicken breast with bacon(meat as a condiment for meat, only in America) sweet potato and greens. We both finished it all off. I prefer breakfast at Cracker Barrel more so than lunch or dinner (otherwise overall rating for all three meals would be 3.33 stars). Due to our large party my sister headed there before the rest of us to ensure we would get a table instead of a long wait ... it worked; yay! I ordered the Fresh Fruit n' Yogurt Parfait Breakfast. The egg whites and turkey sausages that came along with it were yummy and the yogurt parfait was alright. I also ended up "stealing" my son's (he was not eating it anyway) and one of my husband's biscuits and adding that tasty white gravy on it, so my healthy breakfast turned unhealthy fairly quickly, but that's how I roll. I think my husband ended up ordering chicken tenders, because that is what he usually eats for breakfast when eating out (yes, we're a weird bunch). Our waitress was attentive and accommodating. In the store I found a nice dress for a toddler's birthday present. Compared to other Cracker Barrel restaurants I have been to, this one did great! Will keep it in mind for future Florida road trips. read more

I love Cracker Barrel and this one didn't let me down. As one reviewer stated a weird smell? Definitely didn't notice it. It was a normal Cracker Barrel to me. I got my usual sampler which is great. Not many places you can get a main entree with 3 sides for under $10. Fast food would coast more than this! We were sat promptly and the service was great. Thought it would be a great idea to have a fabulous breakfast at Cracker Barrel; up to now one of my Favs for a great home cooked meal. When we got there it wasn't very busy at all. We were promptly seated, however, after ordering, it was about 30 minutes before our food arrived. When the food arrived, our eggs were cold, as was the Haahbrown Casserole. The HB Casserole has long been one of my favorites, but it's not very good when cold. I complained and asked to speak with the manager as all 3 of our breakfasts were cold. When the manager arrived and acted as if he didn't believe us, saying that it only normally takes about 7 minutes to turn out those orders. He wanted to take our breakfast back, but I said no, as it took half an hour to get them. He said "Let me know if there's anything I can do", and that was pretty much it. Later the waitress brought our bill and said that she knocked off one of the meals. That was appreciated, but I have to say, the manager's response was totally inadequate. I have been to many Cracker Barrels over the years, and will very likely go to another one in another location, but I'd say that this one is out for sure. read more

Our wait was only 15 minutes which gave me lots of shopping time!!!!!! Love shopping at CB. Our server, Janice, was a true delight. She has been with CB for 17 years---- awesome. Walked in for dinner, asked for a table for two. Waited about 20 mins and asked again, was told our name was called twice even though we stood by the hostess stand the whole time. Stay away!!! The first clue was the hostess was about as interested in seating us as you would be having a tooth ache ! Terrible food, bathrooms are disgusting, and you will be overcharged because the staff doesn't have a clue how to correctly adjust your meal costs for special requests! I usually love Cracker Barrel so this not so great review is a little painful to write. Our waitress was Ali and she was in the weeds but there were things the managers could have done to make our visit better. Starting off with taking our orders, Ali was gruff and hurried. We ordered biscuits with our meals and assumed they would be delivered promptly. Several tables were sat after we were and were given drinks and bread immediately. We were still without. After 25 minutes someone else brings out our food. Ali rushed by and literally threw refills into our cups, left us our check and rushed off. Didn't ask if we wanted dessert or anything else. All this time one of the two obvious managers was walking slowly in and out of the kitchen door with nothing in his hands. We were in plain site of him and went unnoticed. My husband is a generous tipper and in the 22 years we've been married has never given a poor tip, until tonight. The food was standard Cracker Barrel. read more

This is a great cracker barrel and looks and feels and tastes as consistant and tasty like all other cracker barrels. The store was fantastic and decorated nicely. We were in on a Saturday late morning... and this place was very busy. Which is usually not a huge deal at a Cracker Barrel restaurant as you can browse the god awful ugly crap they sell in the Old Country store. The only thing I like in there is the old school candy selection. But... they never let me down on the food! I had the pancakes with eggs and bacon. The bacon was absolutely cooked perfect! Crispy! The pancakes were huge and really, really good with the little warmed bottles of their maple syrup. Service was good, especially considering how busy the place was. You must try the apple butter and biscuits- it is amazing! Of course, it was too much food to eat, but I was able to take the leftovers to my hotel. We dined at this location last week and everyone in our party had issues with their orders, Most of the side were lousy, such as shriveled up fires that were lukewarm at best, green beans that were stringy and tough. One child's burger was so tough that she could not chew the patty and it's bun so stale that it hurt her mouth to try and bite into it. Though she had ordered a cheese burger, it came out without any cheese and had to be sent back for cheese to be added. My "hamburger" was actually one of their dinner steak patties and it was also tough, dry, and flavorless. I sent an email to the company last Friday and received nothing beyond an automated response acknowledging I had messaged them. Needless to say, not only will I never dine at this location again, I'll be sure to also warn others! read more

Went to the St Augustine location- 45 min wait with over crowded general store- you couldn't get down the aisles and social distance. The bathroom floor was covered in water from an toilet that over flowed. We waited outside and we're called in only to stand there for an extended period of time. They do not enforce masks and many people were walking around without them. They did have a recording that said you needed to wear them (for what it's worth) We sat down and waited a long time for drinks. The waitress took our order. We waited for a long time for our food... She said it would have been out sooner but she had to eat first. The cheese on my salad melted and solidified by the time it came to the table. Instead of letting us eat she wanted us to hand us empty glasses across the table. She slid our food to us from across the table when she could have easily set it down in front of each person. She didn't come back to see if we needed anything until she wanted to know if we needed separate checks. We asked for a box and she again asked us to hand her empty dishes and told us how to stack them. Mind you she could have walked to the side of the table and picked them up herself. We have been to CB for years this was by far the worse experience ever. read more

The home cooked style American breakfast food rarely disappoints. Kendall, our server, was efficient and friendly. The reason for my two star grade is because the smell of the restroom meets you at the door. It may be a problem with poor drainage or lack of cleanliness. I think most people appreciate a clean restroom, and expect this at Cracker Barrel. In either case, I was unpleasantly surprised. I love this place more than my wife sometimes. Ok, maybe not that much, but I really love this place. I have never had any service issues here, and I usually go around lunch time when the place is packed. The longest I have ever waited for my food was 15 minutes. This isn't somewhere you want to go when you're looking to eat healthy though. The food is great, but heavy on the stomach... and hips... and thighs... and your arteries... I have tried everything here from the Country Fried Steak, meatloaf, fried fish, and breakfast foods, and it all rocks. My god, I'm craving some dumplings and biscuits with apple butter right now... Stood at the Host Station 20 mins, was told 6 times by 4 different people that somebody would be with me in a minute to take my to go order. Why couldn't one of these servers take my order? This place is hit or miss. Sometimes you go there and it's great; other times, it leaves a lot to be desired. My husband and I have dined in and done carry-out orders at this location, and again, it's been hit or miss. The wait staff is often slow and don't have the best customer service. I saw the manager deal with an unhappy customer once, and he was pretty rude to the woman and very indifferent to her concerns. So, this explains the quality of the staff. I've been to better locations, and if this particular one just improved the consistency of the staff and food quality, they'd be fine. read more

This was the worst place ever! Gave our name to the reservation desk, all was well. Was told a 5 to 7 min. wait. You could not understand the young man calling the names on the P.A. So when a few people were seated. I went to ask what names he called, because we could't hear him. He replied with a name and said sarcastically, "it wasn't yours and since it was only 3 min. I guess you have 4 more min." When I acknowledged his response, began walking away his next comment was " now you will be waiting longer." We let him know we didn't appreciate his attitude and took our business else where. So sad we enjoy Cracker Barrel so much, but unfortunately the hospitality at this one is totally ruining Cracker Barrel's good reputation. read more
