Grandma's Sampler Pancake Breakfast
Maria B.

Incredible service provided and a wonderful breakfast experience, we visited this restaurant a few weeks ago and the overall service was outstanding. Joshua took great care of us, he was attentive and hospitable. Our food arrived very fast and the dishes had a great presentation and excellent flavor. We loved the pancakes! The ambiance of the restaurant was very welcoming. Decoration was unique, I noticed the restaurant was clean and bathrooms were keep tidy and organized. There was a gift shop store filled with a lot beautiful items from kitchen tools to clothes. Lots of parking available and accessible entrance for everyone.

This was in the mashed potatoes

AWFUL !!! Started with our server Sarah who came to the table and said " do you know what you want to drink ?" Not , hello , no greeting at all . Ok , maybe she's having a bad night , who knows. We get our drinks and she says "do you know what you want to eat ? Wow - strike 2 so far . We proceed to order I got the mommas pancake breakfast which ive always gotten my eggs whites cooked flat -NOT SCRAMBLED. She then argues ( kinda ) that I can't get them flat . So after going back-and-forth with my eggs, I decide to say do them over hard. They come out almost over easy/medium not sure but she took them back . Our meals came out , my eggs were missing but that's ok here's the kicker - my husbands mashed potatoes had a " foreign " black object in them . We called the manager over and he said it's the potatoe skin . Absolutely not ! It was hard and gross. The server then comes over to ask is anything wrong , I saw the manger here and we showed her and told her and she said oh I'll get you a new dish . This was absolutely the worst service we have ever ever had. She acting like we were bothering her, and if she cracked a smile, her face would crack. As you can see from the picture below the item that was in the mashed potatoes that was the only photo we got we got the hell out of there as fast as we could pay the check and left

Seated promptly, friendly staff, quick service, yummy food. The gift shop section is always fun to explore.

Three out of four pieces of prime rib with sides and sauces
Robert M.

We ordered the prime rib for a family of four, with green beans, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, rolls, and pecan pie This was our first time and we were very impressed how good the food was. The prime rib was excellent with great portions, and so were all the side items. The pecan pie was good but a little bit liquidy. It was our Christmas dinner. We followed the instructions and everything came out fantastic. Looking forward to doing this next year. And also came with steak juice, gravy, butter, horseradish, cranberry, etc..

This is how people in the panhandle eat their grits, eggs and bacon with cheese. Bacon added next to the mix.

Excellent service from Stacey this morning! She put in our free barrel bites as a to go since we were full. Plus we added the $6 entrees to try for the first time. Hubby got the seasonal served cold, Merry berry tea but it was as super sweet but tasty. I couldn't drink it but he liked it. We haven't been to CB in months and so many new changes for the better. Hr old paper menu is gone but the new menu has so many more options. All f the Thanksgiving options are also available to read over with pricing. My husband ate the hash brown casserole bowl as an 8. It was a great deal for the size. The onion rings on top are shoe string and very good with lots of seasoning. He liked the fresh tomatoes tossed in because they are diced small. I got the old timer's breakfast. Wonderful as usual! Make sure you dress for the AC because it is cold. They are serving people at the tables outside.

"Grilled Chicken Tenders" absolutely BS
Lindsey L.

I don't do a whole lot of bad reviews. But I will give credit where it's due. And this is by far the sorriest meal I've ever seen come from Cracker Barrel. Their grilled chicken tenders used to be FULL SIZE perfectly grilled and juicy.... What I received tonight was just pathetic. The "tenders" were about 2 inches in size and BURNT.. it's was not edible... I am very disappointed. I got a full refund and that's great but the time I spent ordering and driving to and from there was just a complete waste of time. Time is more valuable than money. 100% will not be returning. This is diabolical... who sends food out of the kitchen looking like this? Is there no quality assurance?

Ordered & ready for her JAVA

Cracker Barrel (St Augustine by Outlets) after thoughts: server - Savanah, was very friendly & her AM energy was welcoming for breakfast. Noting the time, this is the ideal spot to go after AM car refuel, wait time was a stretch 20+ mins but the shop area made time pass quicker. We were seated at a quaint corner table for two that was clean. Place was busy but noise level was at a tolerable medium. Drinks: Java & water Breakkie: Momma's Pancake Breakfast with scrambled eggs & chicken sausage Eggs Sandwich - eggs over medium minus mayonnaise, side of Impossible sausage & hash casserole Mom & I enjoyed both our meals. 1st try with "egg sandwich" & glad I did, the sourdough bread toast went well with my eggs & tomatoes & Impossible sausages. Cholula hot sauce gave it that just right bump of heat I like with my Breakkie. Mom ate all her two pancakes & was kind enough to share 1 with me. She left happy full of pancakes & eggs, barely taking a small taste of her chicken sausage. We both left with two smiles on our faces & though we had turn around close to home & go back, since she left her purse, she quickly & painlessly got it back with the assistance of the kind employees. At present, Cracker Barrel still holds the BEST PANCAKES in northern FL (crunchy & flakey on edge's & unbelievably soft, moist with a flavorful center), if you have not tried them, you only need 1!!! .5 of 5 (4.5 of 5)

We came to Cracker Barrel for a quick family dinner, and this location did not disappoint. Everything was as we expected from this chain. Food came out hot and fast. Our server Alyssa was excellent and friendly. We had an overall good experience.

Biscuits and gravy
Jennifer L.

I have been craving Cracker Barrel for a few weeks now. My husband and I finally had the opportunity to stop by. This Cracker Barrel is your typical Cracker Barrel. I have to admit no matter which one you go to, it's always loud because of the acoustics. The food was good. I love the hash brown casserole and when paired with bacon and eggs it was a delicious skillet/bowl. We also ordered the biscuit beignets which is definitely worth it to try. My husbands breakfast came with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were yummy as always. The gravy tasted bland, not worth the calories. Our server was nice and attentive.

We stopped by for dinner on a Friday night, reservations were hard to get at standard dinner time, so we made a 4:30 p.m. reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was less crowded - when we did leave about an hour later, it was much busier. The setting itself is plain inside - with such a beautiful outdoor setting, the inside looks more like a hospital cafeteria, with very bad acoustics. I don't know who designed the inside, but it's a very un-Floridian setting. The parking lot will also be interesting over time...when we arrived at 4:30 p.m., the lot was close to full, infringing upon the business next door, and by the time we left people were searching for spaces. This is definitely a place to make a reservation and arrive early. Our check-in process was a bit confusing, there's a check-in stand outside where nobody was hosting, and we assumed that was for the patio. We went inside where there's another check-in stand where we were told to go back outside to wait for the hostess so that she could check us in and bring us back inside. If you have to read that a few times, it's as confusing a process as it sounds. We were then seated at a table where we sat for 15 minutes (I started a timer after about 5 minutes) with no server, no drinks, just the two of us wondering at what point one of the many employees was going to pay attention to our table. After 15 minutes, we were approached by Rebecca who brought us drinks, and took our order. By that time, I was just hoping to get a decent meal and get out, since I really didn't expect much. Once dinner did arrive, the food was wonderful! I ordered a creative meal they have which is pulled pork barbecue and waffles, a creative play on Chicken and waffles (which they also offer). I have to give the chef a lot of credit - the meal was tasty and flavorful. Based upon the food, this restaurant would be a five star experience - regrettably with the service snafu and a very sterile environment, it's a four-star overall. Perhaps we'll return when the weather cools down a bit and we can enjoy the patio, as I don't look forward to returning to the dining room anytime soon.

The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.

We visited with a party of four on a Saturday evening and were quoted about an hour. Honestly, we didn't mind at all. We spent the time looking at the bayfront, enjoying the evening, and catching up on life while we waited. Parking, however, is another story. That's downtown St. Augustine these days--not Harry's fault--but be prepared. We ended up paying $25 to park and had about a 10-minute walk to the restaurant. Still worth it. We were seated outside at a spacious round table, which was perfect for conversation. The patio has a cozy garden feel with tiki torches, string lights, and beautiful landscaping. The only downside was that our table was tucked into a back corner where two walls met, so it didn't catch much of the evening breeze and got pretty warm. On the bright side, the tiki torches seemed to keep the bugs away because they weren't an issue at all. Our server, Samantha, was friendly and did a great job despite how busy the restaurant was. Water refills were a little slower than I'd normally like on a hot Florida evening, but with such a full restaurant, it was understandable and certainly wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise great experience. The only significant miss of the night was the live entertainment. We've visited many times when they've had musicians performing, and it's usually one of the things we enjoy most. Tonight's performer was a talented keyboard player, but unfortunately the vocals were consistently off pitch and the lyrics were difficult to understand. Familiar songs weren't recognizable until the chorus. Hopefully it was just an off night because our previous experiences with the live music have all been excellent. Now...the food. We never skip the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer. Years ago we made a point of ordering fried green tomatoes everywhere we went while visiting Savannah, Georgia, and Harry's is still my favorite. The coating is perfectly crisp and actually stays attached to the tomato, while the creamy goat cheese and remoulade sauce bring everything together. Two of the slices were noticeably smaller than the others this visit, but we devoured them so quickly I didn't even think to take a picture! I ordered the Shrimp & Grits, and it was outstanding. If you're sensitive to spice like I am, don't let the Cajun flavors scare you away. It has just enough kick to add flavor without overpowering the dish. The creamy grits topped with freshly shaved Parmesan paired perfectly with the rich sauce. Do yourself a favor and ask for bread--you'll want every last drop of that sauce. My husband ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna, which has become his favorite thing on the menu. He orders it almost every time we visit, and it never disappoints. The other two in our party ordered one of the chicken pasta dishes and one of the shrimp pasta dishes. Both were flavorful without being spicy, making them great choices for anyone who prefers milder options. To drink, I had the Hurricane ($12.99), which was exactly what I was hoping for--fruity, refreshing, and perfect for a summer evening. My husband ordered a Tall Tito's & Tonic with a twist. He said it was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Harry's continues to be one of those restaurants we come back to year after year because it's consistently good. Between the atmosphere, the food, the location across from the bayfront, and the friendly service, it's easy to see why it's become a downtown St. Augustine favorite. We'll definitely be back.
