I was looking for some southern home cooking after a long days work. I placed my order ahead while traveling on 95 -South. I did curbside pickup. Arrived 3 minutes before my pickup time. A very nice employee brought my order out as soon as I checked in. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they delivered it. What did I order? Glad you asked. Two piece honey butter fried chicken, rice pilaf, fried apples and mashed potatoes with gravy. I get home and began to prepare the plates. The fried chicken was severely overcooked. The chicken wasn't white in color, it was a light brown. Hubby said, that's how the chicken looks after it's fried. My response, fried chicken is brown crispy on the outside and white juicy on the inside. Neither of these things does this chicken have. ‍ Let's move to the sides...the mashed potatoes were thick. The rice pilaf was dry. I should have asked for a side of gravy. The fried apples were the only thing salvageable in this meal. We actually had ham and cheese sandwiches for dinner with the fried apples. Moral of the story: check your food before you let the car hop leave. read more

I thought the eggs would be on top of the bread but they weee in a little cut out (see picture) not really over medium like I ordered and the potato casserole was not very good. Too many onions. Joshua took great care of us, he was attentive and hospitable. Our food arrived very fast and the dishes had a great presentation and excellent flavor. We loved the pancakes! The ambiance of the restaurant was very welcoming. Decoration was unique, I noticed the restaurant was clean and bathrooms were keep tidy and organized. AWFUL !!! Started with our server Sarah who came to the table and said " do you know what you want to drink ?" Not , hello , no greeting at all . Ok , maybe she's having a bad night , who knows. We get our drinks and she says "do you know what you want to eat ? Wow - strike 2 so far . We proceed to order I got the mommas pancake breakfast which ive always gotten my eggs whites cooked flat -NOT SCRAMBLED. She then argues ( kinda ) that I can't get them flat . So after going back-and-forth with my eggs, I decide to say do them over hard. They come out almost over easy/medium not sure but she took them back . Our meals came out , my eggs were missing but that's ok here's the kicker - my husbands mashed potatoes had a " foreign " black object in them . We called the manager over and he said it's the potatoe skin . Absolutely not ! It was hard and gross. The server then comes over to ask is anything wrong , I saw the manger here and we showed her and told her and she said oh I'll get you a new dish . This was absolutely the worst service we have ever ever had. She acting like we were bothering her, and if she cracked a smile, her face would crack. Excellent service from Stacey this morning! She put in our free barrel bites as a to go since we were full. Plus we added the $6 entrees to try for the first time. Hubby got the seasonal served cold, Merry berry tea but it was as super sweet but tasty. I couldn't drink it but he liked it. We haven't been to CB in months and so many new changes for the better. Hr old paper menu is gone but the new menu has so many more options. All f the Thanksgiving options are also available to read over with pricing. My husband ate the hash brown casserole bowl as an 8. It was a great deal for the size. The onion rings on top are shoe string and very good with lots of seasoning. He liked the fresh tomatoes tossed in because they are diced small. We ordered the prime rib for a family of four, with green beans, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, rolls, and pecan pie This was our first time and we were very impressed how good the food was. The prime rib was excellent with great portions, and so were all the side items. The pecan pie was good but a little bit liquidy. It was our Christmas dinner. Dined in Friday morning 11/28/25. We were surprised not too long of a wait to be seated so that was nice. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. When we received our breakfast my husband's turkey sausage was raw with blood dripping on his plate. When I signaled another employee who appeared to be a manager maybe (she was wearing a ear piece and had a clipboard) I told her my husband's turkey sausage was raw and she simply said "oh okay. I'll get him another order." She never said I'm so sorry about that or anything to sound like this was unacceptable. It was disgusting to us and could cause health issues if eaten not to mention the raw blood on his plate etc. but she acted as if it was not a big deal and simply had them bring us a cooked order. I don't do a whole lot of bad reviews. But I will give credit where it's due. And this is by far the sorriest meal I've ever seen come from Cracker Barrel. Their grilled chicken tenders used to be FULL SIZE perfectly grilled and juicy.... What I received tonight was just pathetic. The "tenders" were about 2 inches in size and BURNT.. it's was not edible... I am very disappointed. I got a full refund and that's great but the time I spent ordering and driving to and from there was just a complete waste of time. Time is more valuable than money. 100% will not be returning. I have been craving Cracker Barrel for a few weeks now. My husband and I finally had the opportunity to stop by. This Cracker Barrel is your typical Cracker Barrel. I have to admit no matter which one you go to, it's always loud because of the acoustics. The food was good. I love the hash brown casserole and when paired with bacon and eggs it was a delicious skillet/bowl. We also ordered the biscuit beignets which is definitely worth it to try. My husbands breakfast came with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were yummy as always. The gravy tasted bland, not worth the calories. Our server was nice and attentive. read more

Sadly i will not be going here anymore. it's just not the same. when i was a kid i used to enjoy getting to eat delicious food and having an amazing experience. The service is slow and the portions of the food have got a lot smaller. Though there will be changes coming to Cracker Barrell including changing there iconic logo I will say I will miss it. When you order catering for 20 on the morning of a holiday, and the food arrives hot and right on time, this made me very happy. But when the guests remark how wonderful the food was, I am now ecstatic. The order consisted of a breakfast casserole that was perfectly cooked with a substantial amount of cheese on top. A flat of scrambled eggs that were light and fluffy. My Nana would have been proud. The fried chicken biscuits disappeared in record time. The chicken was fried strips made the adults feel like kids again. I can't say enough positive things about this location in St Augustine. I would give this plan 3/5 stars at best. This isn't one of those restaurants that I expect a lot from because it is more of an in and out stop. My family and I decided to eat breakfast here while we had family in town. We arrived around 10:30 and our wait was about 15 minutes which we did not mind. We were called and seated quickly. Our waiter came to our table after about 7 minutes and asked for our drink order as well as if we were ready to order. You could tell that this individual had quite a few tables to tend to. Unfortunately, due to lack of staff, most places are like this. He took our drink orders and came back about 10 minutes later with the drinks. He then took our order and the food came quickly. I only took a picture of my dish. I ordered the Meat Biscuits n' Hashbrown Casserole with bacon. Nothing about this meal was special however, I didn't have much hope. Everything was pretty good taste wise and very affordable for all that you get, only $5.99. The waiter came back a couple times throughout our meal to make sure everything was okay and also refill the coffee. I've had issues with this location of the years when I visit. So much that I end up skipping it and going to Jax. On this day I stopped hoping for a good meal. I hoped wrong. I ordered the Meatloaf lunch special and this was what I was served. I told the waitress I wasn't going to eat that and they should be ashamed to serve food that looks like that. She disagreed and told me that is how it is suppose to look. I told the waitress I've eaten at Cracker Barrel for over 20 years and the meatloaf does NOT look like this. They brought a manager over and he continued to apologize. He apologized so well I think he has lots of practice saying sorry to the guests. He asked me a few times if they could cook me anything else and I continued to say no. I was so angry that I would be served food at a sit down restaurant that looked that unappetizing. I get it.. it's not going to look exactly like the menu. But, I have ordered this dish many times and it always looked very presentable and appetizing. So, this review gets a 1 star.. The other star making it 2 stars belongs to the manager for not disagreeing with me that it looked horrible. Stop in for breakfast.. but lunch and dinner are at your own risk. read more

The food is always good at Cracker Barrel so what really set this one apart for my family and me was the service. We were a party of 6 and came for breakfast two days this week. Who needs a side of grits, who needs extra bacon, who wants decaf, etc. - they really handled all of our needs. One of us got a grilled cheese that the cheese wasn't really melted and they took it right back to the grill and the manager delivered the melted version to us. I've got a confession to make, I'd never eaten at a Cracker Barrel until today. Years of living in Arizona and Florida with them all over and today that ended. So the verdict is in and it was pretty good. I went with a friend who was really hungry and he ordered the Grandma's Sampler along with biscuits and gravy too. The guy ate it all too which was amazing to watch. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were fluffy, well cooked and had a nice sweetness but weren't overpowering. Our server was so friendly and really went out of her way to be patient as my friend and I kept talking about nerdy stuff that we didn't get a chance to decide what we wanted for brunch. I've heard of people making fun of Cracker Barrel but from my experience was nice and clean with good food, good prices and a great staff. I'd come back. read more
