So I've never been to a cracker barrel before but have heard a lot of hype around it... my friends took me on a visit home and it was great! First off, there's a shop attached to it that you have go through to get to the restaurant. Lots of random but fun things to look at including old school candy and glass bottles soda including fun flavors like maple root beer. Also some Southern flair with tiny little cowboy boots for kids. We dropped off our name to queue for a table and the servers at the hostess stand were friendly. When we got called in, our server was Damian (not sure of spelling) and so friendly! We didn't get rushed at all as our last friend arrived and we caught up a bit before ordering. Damian was able to give recommendations and provided timely updates while apologizing for delays given the busy kitchen. We didn't mind and had our cups full and enjoyed ourselves. I ordered the honey fried chicken and the chicken was so juicy and well fried. I ordered a side of fried okra and mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was all right but I enjoyed the fried okra! I just wish there were a lot more of them. Anyways, would come back again for sure and Damian was awesome...shoutout for the great and friendly service! read more

2nd visit to a Cracker Barrel ever. Ordered the roast turkey with cornbread dressing and mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce. Plus a biscuit and a cornbread muffin, Delicious! A lot of food. Very succulent tasty turkey., I also took advantage of the $6 take home offer of meatloaf and Mac & Cheese. There are 3-4 options. Greeted enthusiastically by the greeter/seater and had a delightfully irreverent server , ala Durbin Park. I must say I love the meals of my youth. Rustic ambience, lots of off street parking and a warm enthusiastic staff. I shall return. read more

I always appreciate a good visit to Cracker Barrel. Whether you just stop by their gift shop, or want a homestyle meal, this is your spot. They offer southern style cooking of comfort dishes. My personal favorite is their homestyle chicken paired with mac n cheese and coleslaw. It's tasty and the quality of the chicken is good. I also love their biscuits you receive before the meal. I always ask for jam to eat them with. After my meal I typically stop by their gift shop. It changes seasonally and this is always a great spot to shop for gifts. This restaurant doesn't disappoint. It's comfort food at a comfortable place where you feel at home. I looked at places for Easter and didn't like the menu and I liked the Easter special here. They had turkey and ham,with stuffing and green beans and cranberry sauce. You order one side dish. I got the mashed potatoes. You start with corn bread and muffins, with butter and jam. They are good. The meal was good and the price is right too. It was very crowded here. My daughter had the country fried chicken and Mac and cheese which she enjoyed. Then my meal came with dessert, a pecan pie and vanilla ice cream. It was very tasty! We got for an appetizer the cheese balls which was delicious! Then after you can browse at the gift shop located in front of the restaurant. I look before and after. Lots of great gifts here. I've shopped here many times so I know. The only thing was I didn't get my cranberry sauce. When I came home I looked at the pictures of the menu and saw I didn't get it. That was okay. I enjoyed my meal. I didn't notice. My boyfriend was shocked that I'd never been to a CB so here we went. He got the chicken fried steak and cleared his plate. I got the steak and shrimp which was tasty but my steak was over cooked. We strapped in for a late lunch place was just about empty I ordered the fish fry it came out saturated in oil it was unedible and my cousin ordered the pot roast it was cold and burnt looking . Service I was told it would be a 35 minute wait for my party of 6. I even told them I could split our party up into a 2 top and 4 top if need. 75 minutes mins later, we were still not seated and when I asked to speak to the manager, she said they could seat us but it would be a while before they could take my order. I respectfully thanked her, but just kindly declined and said we would leave and go eat at Longhorn across the street. For many years, I have loved getting a homey meal and exploring the ole country store at Cracker Barrel. However, the past two times I have gone, there have been problems with both the meal and the service. Tonite, after being at the table about 7 minutes, I had to ask if someone was our server. She brought us beverages, then our meals, and then promptly disappeared. Our starter never appeared. I had to ask two other servers to find our server to ask for beverage refills, a box, and the check. The fried okra was lukewarm at best. And the scrambled eggs were flat and had no flavor. Perhaps the server had tables in another area but it was no excuse for the poor service. But it was an excuse not to leave a tip. read more

Cracker Barrel was one of my favorite restaurants. Especially this Tewksbury location. Went there a few days ago and things have changed. There used to be an extensive breakfast menu, and a 'lunch & dinner' menu. Now they combined both into a single menu. My favorites are gone: Chicken livers had been taken off the menu already, but now they recently took out the catfish fillets too... The new menu is greatly diminished it seems. But, they now serve beer and wine.... Pffffts... Prices went up significantly too. Cracker Barrel used to be a 'good bang for the buck', great meals for a great price... Now? Not so much... They're just like anyone else that serve the same stuff.... (Friendly's, Uno, T-Bones, Chili's, Applebee's, etc etc... Tons of those.) I ordered the fried chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. Food was really good, service was really disappointing. So..... overall, Cracker Barrel lost a few stars here... I arrived too late in the evening to enjoy dinner but the overnight parking was lovely. Thank you, Cracker Barrel, for supporting RVers and allowing us to stay in your parking lot. And for my fellow RVers, keep it clean and quiet so we can continue to have this great resource. Breakfast in the morning! My only complaint is just for the RV experience - the parking lot is right up against the highway so there is a good amount of road noise. Not much to be done about that. We waited over an hour for our meal and when it arrived it was cold, but the plates were so hot you could barely touch them. Which tells me from working in the restaurant industry for over 15 years our food had been sitting for a long time. Our main server never showed up so a manger stepped and I swear she was worst than a normal server. Never received refills after asking. This review is for the Cracker Barrel in Londonderry but I couldn't find it on Yelp. This is the worst Cracker Barrel I have ever eaten at. We waited a long time for the food and when we got it it was cold I ordered the country fried steak with white cream gravy and the gravy had coagulation. The others in my party were also less than pleased with their food also. I wish we had gone to the one in Tewksbury because I have always been satisfied with my food there but this one was closer to home. I've also been to one in Virginia and it was the best. read more

We went around 4:00pm and there were not a lot of customers, so we got seated right away. This place is very cute and has tons of old-school decorations and fun things to look at while you wait for your food. The waitresses were really nice, friendly, and polite. After you eat, you pay at the front checkout in the gift shop. It's fun to walk around the gift shop. They have a ton of cool things you wouldn't find anywhere else. I would recommend this place for shopping if you want to get a fun, unique gift. They have stuff you would never think to look for that make perfect gifts. read more

Let's try this again. Decided to stop by here for nostalgia's sake, I remember coming here as a kid, and also came here for, grits. Is this the only place that serves grits up north? Seems like it. Our waitress, Janitsa was super sweet, accommodating, and attentive. I would rate her 5 stars, and this review is not a reflection of her. She seems like she'd do really well anywhere, and has a great personality! Janitsa, if you're reading this, you are going to go very far with your amazing attitude. We got our drinks and put our order in, catfish platter with extra grits, while I just ordered an egg & cheese sandwich on multigrain bread. To add an extra catfish was $7 and the platter came with just one. We received our food a little longer than you'd expect for a quick breakfast and spent about 45 minutes here. My friend enjoyed his catfish and grits, while I was a little disappointed they made the sandwich on white bread. Janitsa noticed right away when she brought it to the table that they made my order wrong, and asked if I wanted it remade, but I declined since we just wanted a quick bite to eat. I truly appreciate that she noticed the error without having to say anything. However, I'd be unlikely to return based on the quality of the bread & cheese, and this experience which I will explain further. The following is not a reflection of the restaurant itself, rather the patrons of the restaurant to detail my personal experience. I did not feel unwelcome by the waitstaff whatsoever. That being said, I was there with a friend who's from the south (I also used to live in Atlanta) and we received awkward stares, grimaces, rolled eyes, and uncomfortable looks from the customers surrounding us throughout our entire 45 minutes or so here. We were in the middle of the room while everyone else was on the side tables. It was so bizarre and extremely uncomfortable. It felt like the 1950s! Maybe it wouldn't have been so weird if we were seated at a side table, but those tables have 4 seats for larger parties. It felt like everyone was glaring at us *the entire time*, and I looked around quite a bit. If you don't know how to mind your business and focus on your own company, you probably should not leave your house. However, the Cracker Barrel staff were very nice and made us feel welcome, as any normal person would. The awkwardness came from customers in every direction, who clearly have an old idea of society. A casual, quick breakfast shouldn't have been so off-putting. I was surprised to feel like I had teleported to the south back in the day for a late breakfast. If you've traveled out of your radius, you know what I mean. So to my melanated brothers and sisters, I would be aware of the environment and people who are attracted to places like this, and this is not Cracker Barrel's fault, but it is very noticeable and uncomfortable. I'm not sure what Cracker Barrel could do to avoid situations like this in the future, maybe have a few smaller tables on the side and being aware of the subtleties, but I am grateful that they didn't share the same views or treatment as their patrons. My 2 stars are based on the fact that Cracker Barrel staff were great, Janitsa was fantastic, but my meal did not come as ordered, took a little longer than expected, and the environment was very uncomfortable based on the customers that surrounded us from every direction. I felt uncomfortable to exist while there, eating breakfast, and I wouldn't wish that for anyone. read more

Great food and fast seating (we arrived at 5:20). Service was quicker than the non-chain restaurants in the area. Ham Uy steak was really good. The regular steak was a bit tough at medium cooking. We ordered online and picked up in store yesterday 11/11/22 around 5:40. We ordered sweet n smoky tenders for me, grilled steak for my fiancé and two lemon trouts. When I opened the food box and took out the first piece of chicken, I found hair that was long and sticky in the sauce. The coleslaw was also bad. It tasted so sour like it was a day old food. Not happy with my curbside order today. 1. No bacon on my barrel bacon cheeseburger. 2. My 35oz family side of dumplings for $13.99 was served in a 16oz container. My initial thoughts when I saw it were, "that's a family side?" and, "$13.99 for that?" 3. My fruit cobbler had no crust... none. It was literally canned peaches with a scoop of ice cream. This chain is just your average joe's food wise but really we love the atmosphere and the nostalgic feel that all of their dining rooms have. The crackling fireplace, games on the table and coffee served at the table right out of coffee pots. Breakfast is always a great choice here. Their blueberry pancakes are the best I have ever had at a restaurant and remind of the way my grandfather used to cook them - fresh blueberry flavor and slightly crispy around the edges! Coffee is always fresh and their pies for dessert are worth saving room for. Their little shop outside the dining room is the perfect place to find a gift for someone when you just don't know what to get them. From beautiful sweaters, cute seasonal/holiday baby clothes, nostalgic candy and mixes to make your own pancakes at home there is something for everyone - and Christmas is the best time to visit. read more

I went there today with my twin sister and our daughters, we have been going since they opened and every time we go we're in & out within the hour, the food is delicious & the servers are fast & efficient but today NONE of our usual experience happened. Our server Bronte was HORRIBLE. She didn't come to our table once in 45 minutes. I had to step in front before she entered the kitchen just to get our refills. The table behind us didn't even get approached once in the 30 minutes of them getting sat. She then continued to talk negative about us in the kitchen walkway right in front of us. She didn't even have the decency to hide from us talking negative about us. I have been going there for years and I will NEVER step foot inside again thanks to Bronte. The manager was kind of enough to pack our food before we left for free but honestly I didn't even eat the food from how horrible the expierence was I didn't trust Bronte not to spit in our food .. We stopped here on our way home because we wanted Cracker Barrel for breakfast on our way up north but had to settle for dinner on our way home. What a disappointment! I always figured this was a place us overweight Americans could go and get a large meal. I got the chicken fried chicken and it came with a small amount of fries and no gravy on it, along with a small cup of dumplins. Part of me feels like the fries I got were left over from someone's dish that they cleared from another table because they were room temperature. The other plate we got was a grilled chicken with grits and broccoli and the chicken tasted good. The waitress was good but the old lady at the cash register was grumpy. I hate giving bad reviews. Good points are...its right off the highway, its clean, hostess was friendly, we were sitting rifht away. Unfortunately we didn't get served so I can't say much anymore. I usually love to stop here driving my yoingest back and forth to college in Maine. Its close to a halfway point. Its been a while, but after a long day of driving, we stopped here for dinner. And got no dinner. I used the restroom and there was no toilet paper (always have tissues in you purse!) We waited a good while and watched 1 waitress run around. No one acknowledged us. We figured McDonalds would be better so got up to leave. Walked by another waitress, a manager, the hostess, the cashier....no one said a word. Off to find some food!! read more

7/31/21 Cracker Barrel is just a terrific place to come with a family to get pretty good food at a great price. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast at any hour of the day, or some biscuits and sawmill gravy........the menu is vast and the staff at any location I've ever visited has been very friendly. The gift shop also smells so good it makes you want to have a seat and relax for a while........it's also has plenty of retro candy from yesteryear to bring you back to a simpler time. I was hesitant to visit after reading all of the negative reviews. However, we had an AMAZING experience. I am originally from Oklahoma, and I have been to Cracker Barrel multiple times. The store was clean, well-stocked, and had friendly staff. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, but we also went earlier than the noon lunch rush. Once we sat down, we were waited on quickly by Christinne B, who was funny and kind! We placed our order and played the good ol' Cracker Barrel game! The wait times, in my opinion, are understandable. It's busy, and the food is very carefully prepared. Being from the south, I'm very picky when it comes to "southern" food. I was extremely pleased with my chicken pot pie. My husband got the southern fried chicken and was very impressed. It's the best meal I've had in a year, and it was totally worth the wait. During the wait, play the peg game, talk, etc. but ENJOY your time because this is a full experience. I think people are so used to rushing and getting their food quickly, which I understand, but this restaurant is not like other places. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISITING (as long as you are patient). read more

All I can tell you is I had a great experience here. My server was super friendly and helpful and did everything she could to make me feel comfortable and like I was welcome. I rarely go to a cracker barrel- this may be my 4th trip to any cracker barrel anywhere. I left happy and everyone I interacted with did their best to make me feel welcome. Sorry to the people who are traveling through town and are simply stopping by and treating it like a fast food restaurant. Your vibes generally precede you. I am only giving this a three star review because of our previous experiences there but last night was the worst experience we have ever had at this restaurant. We had Harmony as our waitress, and normally either have Alexandria or the guy with the glasses and curly hair, whose name I cannot recall, who are always fantastic. It took 25 minutes for her to even bring us our drinks, then once she took our order and brought our food never once came to check on us, or was anywhere near available to any of her tables. It got so bad that Alexandria who was also busy came up to us and asked us if we needed anything while waiting for our check. Once harmony brought over our check (after she was told to) she didn't even ask how the food was. She literally handed it to us and said take this up to the front and walked away. We normally enjoy our time and experience here but last night put a bad taste in our mouths. read more

The food was decent but could've been better. I was craving biscuits and gravy and the server forgot them so they came after my meal, which was disappointing.
