The Cracker Barrel in Stevensville, MD has really gone down in quality over the years. I only like a couple entrées there but I've always been a big fan of the sides. This time I ordered the pot roast which was very good but the green beans that were usually my favorite side, were brown instead of green, had no bacon taste (it was more fat and lard taste) and were just disgusting. The biscuits were not fresh, they were dry and BURNT, as were the corn muffins (another usual favorite of mine). Our server was nice but didn't seem to have much server experience. She also dropped our check off before we'd even finished our dinner. Not sure we'll be back, Cracker Barrel. I think your era may have passed. read more

It's a law of nature that every Cracker Barrel you go to will be entirely identical down to the peg game on the table and the random tennis racket nailed to the wall for no reason. Cracker Barrel defies the laws of physics in that the parking lot is never not full, yet there is always ample seating inside. It's like the magic tent from the fourth Harry Potter movie. What I love about Cracker Barrel is that I will place an order for more food than I could possibly eat in one sitting and the waiter will respond with "you still have two more sides," and that's not even including the free biscuits. Haven't been to Cracker Barrel in years. Decided to stop here as we very rarely visit the eastern shore. Ambiance is always the same. Nothing has changed. Clean and everyone extremely helpful. Food: I was disappointed to see a couple of things were no longer on the menu, so we settled for the ol' faithful Grandma's Breakfast. I had pancakes and my husband had French toast. I also subbed spicy chicken sausage instead of the pork breakfast meats. Everything came out as expected. Drinks: he had orange juice, I had coffee. Service was very good! Normally I love their food but yesterday my daughter and I went and the food was awful first of all it took about 30 minutes for the food to come out and it was not full but when it came out it was hard and cold I kept telling my daughter I know the food is done by now and by the looks of the food it have just been sitting so I returned it and they we made it and the food was just awful there was something really off about the eggs yesterday and the garlic tips were just awful my first time getting the garlic tips and they were awful we did not even finish we packed it up and brought it home for the dogs very disappointed and cracker barrel yesterday read more

No way this location gets low ratings!!! Me and my family have been to this location dozens of times and never had bad food or service!! Who doesn't love southern style of cooking aka fried and carby lol My usual go to is always country fried steak but I went just steak tonight This place is always fun from the rocking chairs outside to relax and or wait for your seating to the fun old tyme store with all the old school candies and toys and items to look at and buy I was a bit bummed out by my beignets they were kinda dry and my friends peach cobbler definitely was not one but instead looked like some deconstructed version that you'd find at some new wave kind of place But overall can't go wrong coming here for some comfort food! read more

My friends and I were on our way to spend Thanksgiving weekend away from DC, and we learned that all but one of us have never been to Cracker Barrel. This was a small detour away, and we were hungry so we thought we'd stop by. The food is as expected from a diner chain like this, but it was all so rich and buttery. The highlight for me was their biscuits. They were so buttery and fluffy and paired so well with butter or gravy. The service was warm and friendly, and we didn't have to wait too long for anything. I ordered the grandma sampler. The French toast was ok. The country ham was good. The sausage didn't have any flavor and I gave the bacon away. I asked for scrambled eggs, but received folded egg. I expect good service and food so I was excited - well maybe set myself up for a huge letdown! I decided to order to go (the cashier said she had to get a waitress and I thought perfect because I had some menu questions). I have some stomach issues so I wanted to know what was in the vegetable soup. Seems like a simple question - boy was I wrong!!! After a blank stare, the waitress said she needed to get the supervisor. OK, weird flex....but I am patient. The "supervisor" - who looked like an unkept waitress came out. She already had an attitude, so I asked what is in the soup - she said they don't usually answer those type of questions - don't usually answer???? So, if someone has allergies............ NOW, I have a blank stare. She proceeds to tell me corn, onion, celery, carrots....ok, perfect I say. I didn't want tomatoes, beans, bell pepper, or mushrooms. None of that she says. I order the soup, pinto beans, and biscuit beignets. I get home, about 38 - 40 miles away AND must throw it all away! The price tag - $25 (included $10 tip - I always tip AND the bad service won't stop me). The soup - was made of a tomato base, included beans and peas.... The pinto beans - included a meat not identifiable The beignets - I did taste but didn't like, they were extremely think and doughy NOTE: I wouldn't usually complain BUT I asked what was in these before ordering....The menu did not give a breakdown of the soup. Hubby brought us here for breakfast. I am not a regular diner of Cracker Barrell, so I needed extra time to view the menu. I ordered the sunrise sampler breakfast with the fried apples. Hubby had the Cracker Barrell's country boy breakfast. The food was good but we had some issues. Hubby's ham was extremely salty and we were never aware of how salty it is. Hence why I took off a star, along with the salty advisement from our server. When she asked how was everything, we advised that the ham was very salty and she told hubby we offered another option. But it was not told upon ordering that the hambis salty. Someone with high blood pressure should be made aware, especially if someone is a new diner and we are not from around that area. Per the menu, hubby was suppose to have 3 eggs with his meal, but was served 2 eggs. Overall, the food was good in spite of the salty service, we did get to shop around the gift shop. read more

I like this Cracker Barrel. My favorite breakfast is the Grandpa special with chicken fried steak and I rarely if ever, deviate from that. The pecan pancakes are truly divine and their biscuits... well you just can't compare their biscuits. I eat those with lots and lots of butter with a sliver of jam. Today I tried their new loaded bacon cheese hash brown casserole with tomatoes, fried onions, and green onions. It was a mess! Mine were covered up with scrambled eggs, but I put my fork in and hit something solid. Placed the eggs aside and the top layer was burned to a crisp! It was as if the cook was rushed, covered it over with eggs like it wouldn't be noticed. Really???? Awful. This dish was recommended by the server and was an epic fail. However, she did acknowledge the issue without me saying a word of complaint (it wasn't eaten) and promptly removed it from our bill! Awesome. The service is always top notch, today no exception. The Stevensville, Md Cracker Barrel is always our look-forward-to-go-to breakfast stop before we had into Ocean City! On this occasion we were met by friendly greeters and sat at a great table. "Chloe" was our server and she can best be described as "Awesomemazing!" She was very attentive and friendly. Food came out both hot and delicious... especially the scrambled eggs! Chloe also made sure we got a generous lemonade fill-up for the road. She also took the time to introduce us to the manager on staff at that time! Very classy! Bottom Line: A fun general store and hearty meals. I don't go to Cracker Barrel too often to eat but I love their general store. Recently I visited this location for both the general store and dinner. We visited during COVID-19 and we were glad to see there was plenty of room in the dining room between tables and the staff were wearing masks. Aside from breakfast, I've only ever gotten the Homestyle Chicken Salad. It sounds healthy but its Cracker Barrell so its not. The produce (lettuce, tomatoes and carrots) is always fresh and then its topped with a hard boiled egg, a chunk of cheddar cheese and then grilled or friend chicken. It's quite good. Regarding breakfast, they have a huge breakfast menu during breakfast hours and then a paired down menu during the rest of the day. I enjoy casually perusing the general store. I love the greetings cards that have the cute animals on them and they have a nice selection. I also like getting lost in the jewelry, cookbooks, Lodge cast iron cookware and other things I don't really need. Also, I like seeing the nostalgic items like Moon Pies - a favorite of my beloved, late grandfather and Nehi soda. On my recent visit Molly was our server and she was perfect. She was attentive and friendly and I could tell she was giving us a big friendly smile behind that mask. Cracker Barrel has very reasonable prices. Had been to Cracker Barrel for a while the food has just gone down hill from what it use to be, I believe that they have gotten so big them at the quality of food has gone down. Items are prepared like they use to be when they only had a hand full of stores. Anyway, the wife and I ordered the chicken pot pie when they came out they look huge but actually they are a nice size. The bowls look very big and deep but it's not the crust on top is crispy need to have a better flavor. Stopped by Stevensville, MD, location for dinner (very nice) and ended up overnighting in our RV. Manager Ken met us in-person and was very welcoming. Also enjoyed breakfast the next morning. My son and I arrived at the restaurant about 8:00 am on a Saturday. We were seated promptly, there was no waiting for a table. The hostess was quiet when she spoke but very polite. The restaurant was busy but not overly busy. The table was neat and clean. My son ordered scrambled eggs, sausages with fried apples and a sweet tea. 10 minutes later the waitress came by to apologize CLAIMING that the ticket machine in the kitchen jammed up and our order was just getting started. I noticed that other people who were seated after us were getting their orders with NO issues. We finally got our food after waiting another 15 to 20 minutes. Then we no sooner started to eat and she was handing us the bill as if she was pushing us to leave. The food was ok but NOT worth the wait or the money. I was looking at the receipt and saw the drink order was NOT listed properly. I ordered hot tea and my son ordered sweet tea, on the bill was coffee decaf and diet coke. I NEVER drink coffee and my son NEVER drinks diet anything. So I made sure to check the accuracy of the rest of the bill. We will NEVER go back. I do NOT recommend this place. read more

Terrible leftover food and food poisoning June 2024 My wife, I, and granddaughter went for late afternoon breakfast food. At 5 PM place almost empty?? We got pancakes, old batter-flat and tough, sausage patties-burnt but pink inside, biscuits- dry and tasteless, and country ham. My wife ate only the ham and biscuit. She got terrible food poisoning, sick all next morning. Food not fresh because so many items on menu and sitting in kitchen too long. Obviously breakfast leftovers! in the kitchen. I've been coming here for years since it opened. I could go on forever about how delicious their burgers are or the Friday fried fish special. But I won't. So today I went to breakfast with my mom and we were seated promptly and I ordered the double meat breakfast and I got my eggs scrambled with cheese. We got biscuits with white gravy and everything was amazing. My only complaint today was the grits we're too watery for my liking but also they were very lukewarm. But price wise it's very competitive and the portions are generous given the purchase prices so it's worth going whether it's breakfas, lunch, or dinner. read more

I was very disappointed I had not been to a Cracker Barrel in probably 20 years and I remember it being really good for breakfast but my breakfast was not that great my scrambled eggs look like they were scrambled in a frying pan while they were cooking operated from the yellow. The pancakes were kind of rubbery and not amazing like pancake should be I didn't even finish them and I love pancakes. It was a nice surprise to see if they had real maple syrup unfortunately it was nothing delicious to put it on. I don't think I'll be going back to the Cracker Barrel. Good day, I am at the Stevensville (Maryland) location and our waitress is truly unpleasant, abrupt, and made us feel quite a bit unwelcomed contrary to the greeting we experienced when we first arrived. As she approached our table and asked about drinks, she quickly asked what did want to eat; and our menus were still closed. Her demeanor, when I asked a question about lunch was truly rude, then when I asked about the Uncle Hershel's favorite because I can't do the eggs; she immediately cut me off and said she could not substitute anything. I'd not asked for any alterations but wanted to know if there was a similar meal combination with French Toast , fried catfish, and the hash brown casserole. I never got my question out. It's a family tradition that we do a pit stop at this specific location before heading to Ocean City. Comfort food was exactly what we needed after sitting in the car for some time. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived but got seated fairly quickly. The server was pleasant and super friendly (I wish I would have asked for her name). She warned us that they were short staffed so if the food was delayed that is why. They serve breakfast all day but I ordered the Friday Fish Fry on their lunch menu instead. The cod was flaky and delicious! The cole slaw was a little too watery for me but the fries made up for it. My favorite at Cracker Barrel are the cornbread muffins!
