Super good food. LOVE the Pua. The chef is quirky and super funny. Try the dill popcorn. You'll thank me later.

I stopped in about 30 mins after they opened on a friday and they had a lunch rush, everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait at least 20mins. I ordered the 6oz catfish and chips which came with 3 catfish strips, fries, 1 hush puppy, chips and a drink ($16.99) I also got a side of mac&cheese. The positives: staff was kind, pastor at the counter would make jokes with customers and you could tell they had regulars during lunch time. Fries were well seasoned, hush puppy was good and Mac was acceptable. My only issue with the catfish was that it was overcooked and became a bit chewy (see photo). Sitting in there it seems like the wings were a customer favorite so I would love to go back and try their wings and other sides. Since my order took longer (there was a large order right before mines) the pastor at the counter thanked me for my patience and threw in a dessert.

The place is quaint and the people are friendly. And the food here delivers in every possible way. If you appreciate Soul Food and/or Southern Food then this is the place for you. The cabbage here was everything I could ever ask for. I wanted more when I was done. The Mac & cheese didn't look like much to me but man did it serve on tastes. It was cheesy, seasoned and cooked just right. The fried chicken was cooked fresh and seasoned to perfection. My breast was still juicy and piping hot. Call ahead for to go orders or you'll spend your time waiting for the chicken to be fried. The peach cobbler here is not my preferred way to have as I like a pie crust with mine but oh my goodness, I took one bite and couldn't stop savoring this dessert. Do yourself and get you some. Open Fridays & Saturdays, and the menu slightly rotates weekly so check their website ( southerngrill1.com ) to check menu and confirm hours. This place is everything and more that I could ever ask for when it comes to good ole soul food.

We walked in around 5pm on a Sunday night and was greeted by a very friendly waiter who offered us a few choices to sit. We ordered the gumbo, the grits plate w blackened catfish, and an eggplant dip appetizer. I'm from the south and didn't know seattle had southern food like this! The ambience was great and food absolutely delicious. Would definitely come again!

Great Cajun food with serious New Orleans vibes…read more Jude's is a great little Cajun spot that really delivers on the food. My wife had the po' boy, and it compared surprisingly well to a true New Orleans-style sandwich--definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Everything we tried was flavorful and well prepared. The ambiance is very Seattle, in the best possible way: casual, eclectic, and perfectly suited to its Rainier Beach Old Town location. The neighborhood can feel a little sketchy, but honestly, that's part of the setting and fits the vibe of the place, so I wouldn't hold that against Jude's. Service was good overall, although it was a little slow considering how small the restaurant is. Still, the food and atmosphere more than made up for it. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for some solid Cajun food with a distinctly Seattle personality.

Awful in every way. The catfish was edible, but that's about it. The ribs were an abomination! No smoke, no seasoning, chewy, and overcooked, no char, no grill, no thanks! The sides , were even worse, bland over boiled Mac & cheese, with no seasoning, and you can't even call that red beans and rice. It's as if white folks cooked soul food for the first time ever. God awful. If I was in town one more day, I would have taken all that nasty food back up there and left it there. Gross. Dumped it all in the trash and went to Wendy's which was also awful.

Have heard lots of good reviews from this spot and finally got to try it out!…read more You order at the counter and then your food gets brought to you. Service was very friendly! They had a good flow of traffic throughout the entire time we were there. They have two picnic tables outside of the restaurant for outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. We had the salmon Philly, fish & grits, and a side order of the waffle. - The salmon Philly was flavorful and the cheese pull was elite. We chose the fries as our side and they were cooked well. - I loved the size of the waffle! It was on the thinner side though so definitely don't put all the syrup on it unless you like it soggier since it soaks up pretty well. - I loved the combination of the catfish and grits because they balanced each other out well. The catfish was cooked to perfection, but I wouldn't eat it on its own since it's pretty salty, so you gotta eat it with the grits for each bite.

The waffle itself was good, and the chicken-and-waffle dish was decent, but the chicken was average at best. The chicken wings were very average, and the Philly cheesesteak was okay/good, but nothing about the food felt special. Portion sizes were fine, but again, nothing memorable. Service was also hit or miss. The lady at the counter was friendly and nice, which we appreciated. However, the rest of the team, including someone who appeared to be the owner, came across as rude and unwelcoming. No one checked on our table, asked if we needed anything, or really interacted with us during the meal. When we arrived, there was no clear sign explaining whether we should seat ourselves or order at the counter. We ended up waiting around 10 minutes before realizing no one was going to help or explain the process. Overall, this place felt overhyped. The food was average, the service needs improvement, and the owner/team should make guests feel more welcome. Based on our experience, I would not recommend it and would not go back.

I love the pub setting and decor with its rustic, cozy charm. The interior is spacious and perfect for groups of any size, whether you're watching sports, dining casually, or enjoying happy hour. It felt like we were in a different country. The menu offers plenty, from classic German cuisine to draft beers and more. We all ordered a variety of stuff, and everything looked appetizing. We shared a couple of starters--deep-fried pickles and the Brätzel. Both were great. For my entrée, I chose one of the Berliner Favorites, a Schnitzel Sandwich with a side of skinny fries. It was also delicious and filling. If you can't decide on what beer to try, they offer a few flight options. We also had to get the German Chocolate Cake shot! It's dangerously good! The staff was kind and attentive and made the meal experience even better. If I come back to visit the area, I'll consider coming back for more tasty German food and a refreshing beer! The food was great, I had a large slider and some clam chowder and my friend had a large slider with some brussel sprouts. However, the service was terrible. There were 3-4 servers behind the bar, but it took us around 15 minutes to even get one of them to acknowledge us. They did have a small crowd, but nothing outrageous. The servers were obviously busy, but they ignored our efforts to be helped and 3 other couples got served who sat down after us. When we left, there was only a few people left in the bar, and the servers had turned over. The new bartender/server also ignored us. He finally acknowledged our existence when we asked for the check. Of course the bill was incorrect and included extra items that we did not order. We left and went to the receptionist to get parking validation. Apparently the free parking is only 2 hours free, we were there for a little more than 2 hours. So, we paid the extra cost and left. That area of Renton is super cute. Unfortunately, we wont return because we can find similar offerings in the area with free parking and better service.

I first reached out on April 12th with a few possible dates and an estimated guest count of 15-18. I received an immediate reply the next morning from Rob Miller, who guided me through every step of the planning process with professionalism, warmth, and clarity.Although the initial information focused on their private dining room, Rob worked closely with me after our conversation to secure the patio instead. A perfect choice for a July shower, especially since the indoor rooms didn't have windows. He made sure I could personalize the table arrangements to reflect my daughter in law's personality, include a small gift table, and offer an open menu for our guests. Communication was seamless, and I was able to update the guest count right up until the week of the event. All forms were easy to complete and sent exactly when expected. On the day of the shower, the patio table was set beautifully, exactly as promised. Our servers, Becky and Madison (a trainee), were exceptional. Their service was warm, attentive, and highly professional. The food, including the mocktails and brunch beverages, was absolutely delicious, truly perfection. Every guest had a wonderful time, and my son and daughter in law felt relaxed and celebrated.Thank you to the entire Water's Table team (e.g., event planning, valet, hostess, servers, chefs, florist (Athina), and everyone behind the scenes), for making this day everything I envisioned for my kids. Your excellence and kindness made our first grandbaby's shower unforgettable. With deepest gratitude, Julie Meile
