My manager got the prime rib and was floored by the "petite" size--it was huge! The hospitality here is top-notch. Our server was incredibly nice. My manager ordered a beer while I went for a root beer. At one point, the server started listing off their beer selection, and I had this look like, "Man, he's really selling me on the beers!" Well, this place was a surprise. It's located not very far from the Westfield mall area. We walked in, and there was a box full of peanuts. We served ourselves and were shown to our table. We came here for lunch today and were happy to be served delicious warm rolls and butter right away. The ambience was quirky and fun. Service was friendly. We both ordered the blackened ribeye steak to eat. Our entree arrived at the table a bit too quickly as we weren't quite halfway through our salad. We both took a bite of steak and immediately were disappointed. When I think of a blackened ribeye steak, it doesn't have an herb seasoning that belongs on pork. Honestly we couldn't even taste the beef. We contemplated if the steaks were marinated as well. What's wrong with just a little S&P? The cut of meat was a bit too gristly and blackened? Not really..there was no apparent searing on either of our steaks. We might have enjoyed the gristle and cut without the overpowering herb blend that completely obscured any beef flavor. Thankfully we still had half of our salads left to eat along with the baked potatoes to help tame the overpowering herb flavor of the steaks. Needless to say, neither of us finished our steaks. They were so over seasoned that we could not in good conscience even take any home for our dog. By the way...the bar needs to learn how to mix an old fashioned properly. read more

When we patronize this restaurant, it's usually an order to go. We have been customers of Jimmy Macs for the past 8 years. Our last two orders to go, the food was not up to standard. The ribs were over cooked and dry. Thank goodness for water to wash it down! And I'm not sure why they haven't given us a small container of their bbq sauce with our order. I think we will try other places and maybe return here a few months later to see if they have improved. read more

Absolutely love this place! This is a great alternative similar to Texas Roadhouse. They serve you immediately and you're able to grab a bowl of peanuts upon entry. We were able to get seating immediately and was served their famous fresh rolls with sweet honey butter. Order: Prime Rib with salad and mashed potatoes, porter house with fries and mashed potatoes The steak was perfectly cooked and they even checked to see if we liked how it was cooked when we received our order. We went on Mother's Day and bill came out to about $86 - combo plate, entree, bowl of chowder, a cocktail and bottomless lemonade. It was busy and I'm sure understaffed so it took quite a bit of time to get our food but the waiter was excellent at getting us our drinks and rolls to snack on immediately. We came here for dinner tonight to celebrate my son's birthday. He wanted bbq ribs so we found this place on Yelp and it was only a few minutes from our hotel. When we arrived, my kids were confounded when they saw all the peanut shells on the floor. I had to show them the fine art of shelling peanuts and tossing the shells on the floor, and having to explain that I wasn't really littering, but that it was how it was done at restaurants that serve peanuts. You can imagine how at awe they were to see their mom throwing trash on the floor. Hahaha... When you first walk in, you'll see that they have a butcher's case of all the meat cuts they serve at the restaurant. It's a unique concept, and neat to see that your beef is fresh. The menu has a good number of items, although I wish they had bbq chicken on the menu. They bring out these AMAZING yeast rolls with honey butter to munch on as soon as you settle into your seats, and they are so so good! Soft and slightly sweet like Kings Hawaiian rolls, and the honey butter just makes it so much better! All of our food, from the baby back ribs, sausages, pulled pork and my chicken salad was delicious! Their Mac & cheese is from Beecher's - yes, that Beecher's from Pike Place market. And it tastes just as delicious as the Mac & cheese I bought from the Beecher's shop this morning! Our server, Deja, was amazing! She knew two of my kids were splitting their order and was so thoughtful to take the initiative to split their salad and baked potato on separate plates. She was attentive and refilled our drinks quickly. She also brought out a scoop of ice cream for my son for his birthday. At one point we got peanuts in bags, which I liked, seems less contaminated. Another visit peanuts were a free for all again where you get it yourself. I didn't like the potential covid germs with that so I passed. I have been coming here for years and years and I always know what to expect with the food. It's simple, good and fills me up. Food: Rolls are fluffy, buttery and slightly sweet. Love these and they give you more if you want some. Crawfish chowder: delicious creamy and plenty of crawfish potatoes in every bite. Mac and cheese: creamy rich and pretty filling. Caesar salad: I always get this with anchovies on top, adds some saltiness and a different flavor to it. I order the same entree all the time. If you aren't expecting too much, this will be good for you. Everything food and drink-wise was just okay, prices are very high ($35 for 3 small crabcakes, $41 for combo plates, etc). Changed quite a bit over the years, but still a fun, divey restaurant. We had a party of 8 and 1/2 for a birthday lunch at 2:00. Service was excellent and consistent from our delightful server. However, we had to ask for water, plates, and spoons, plus napkins. Food - was either good or not so good. Husband loved his chopped sirloin and side veggies. I had really been craving crab cakes (as were 2 others) but we were told they were out. What??? That's one of their signature dishes. Pivoting, I selected the crawfish chowder and lite Caesar salad. I've always loved the chowder yet this time it was lukewarm and gloppy with way too many potatoes and bacon. Another casualty was granddaughter's grilled cheese. The cheese wasn't melted and fell off the bread. DIL ordered the pulled pork sandwich but the meat wasn't shredded. She took it out and did it herself. Others enjoyed their dishes and, of course, the rolls and butter! The final thoughtful touch was the free birthday dessert for the birthday boy! One area that they seriously need to fix are the bathrooms. Just disgusting - you could smell urine and sewer before even opening the door. Out of soap, graffiti on the walls, no cover on the floor drain and boxes stacked with paper products against the wall. This could be a go-to place again with some cleaning and repairs. Les had pop and snack vending machines and it was not crowded. I got the Happy Hour Pulled Pork Sliders. They give out 3 freshly baked rolls with soft butter to everyone too. So I had rolls to take home. They were playing loud Country Music in the background. I don't care for country music, but I tolerated it just to enjoy my strawberry lemonade, dining inside the restaurant. It's been many many years since I've been here, but I remember really liking their rolls with the whipped butter and the crawfish chowder, so I tried these two again when I met my friend here for a drink. The crawfish chowder was still good, and the rolls were good, but I would've liked them to be warmer. I also tried the crab cake, and that was yummy, especially the sauce it came with. I tried a bite of my friend's salmon, and that was pretty good, especially since I don't care too much for salmon. We also both enjoyed our giant margaritas. Ordered smoking combo $46.75 and rolling rock grilled shrimp $24.50 for 6 shrimp, total was $78.67 with a $10 tip the shrimp were tiny and way overcooked (chewy!) with no flavor, the ribs were totally burnt, sauce was alright the Caesar sauce was sweet even the baked beans tasted burnt but the worst part for me was my baby back ribs were burnt and I have been craving them for the past couple weeks I've just recently relocated and have no idea where to find quality bbq around here.
