I was all set to give Craft & Vine 5/5 stars on Yelp, but the General Manager really made me angry right before my husband and I were about to leave. Upon our arrival, the host was super nice! He asked for our name and typed it into the iPad they use for reservations and tables. The host was genuinely nice, chatted with us and complimented my husband on his name. We were seated by the host and told who our server would be. Our server, I believe his name was Kevin, was also very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. He explained how the menu worked, offered us the dining menu, drink menu and happy hour menu. The drinks were super strong and decently priced. $6 for an old fashioned? Yes, please! We started with the house made pork rinds, which were pretty damn delicious! The pork rinds came out still crackling, and were presented in a glass lined with paper. The pork rinds had some chile seasoning and a hint of lime and were seasoned perfectly. We then tried the 3 for $15 charcuterie and cheeses. The meats and cheeses come with baguette slices and spreads to compliment them. I would recommend getting the 5 for $22 as the meats and cheeses were just so delicious and you will definitely want more! We ended our dining with the flash fried oysters. We decided we don't care for fried oysters due to the texture, but that's no fault of the chef. That being said, the batter is wonderful and the aioli was fantastic as well! The atmosphere and set up were great. Craft & Vine is not confused about what image it wants to present to it's patrons, unlike many restaurants, and I love that. The prices were fair for the type of restaurant, service and atmosphere. My husband and I paid and were finishing up our second drinks, after having a wonderful dining and drinking experience, when the General Manager walked over, stated very sternly, "We don't allow vaping here," and walked away. Talk about lack of tact! The only reason I even know this man was the GM, because he didn't even bother to introduce himself to US, is because he proceeded to go to the table behind us and introduce himself to the white couple there and thank them, chat, etc. He also went to the table of white customers behind THAT table, who had only recently arrived, and introduced himself to them and chatted them up as well. It may very well just be a very bad coincidence that the only person the GM was rude to was one of only two black customers in the restaurant, one being my husband, and the other being a man at the bar, but it certainly didn't seem like a coincidence. We had an overall great experience at Craft & Vine until the GM ruined it with his behavior. I still give the place 4/5 because the GM can leave and the restaurant will still be a great restaurant, with or without him. read more

I'm not gonna lie, this place is bougie and hipster, but the food is SO GOOD. I have tried the cauliflower popcorn, wood oven goat cheese dip, aged gouda, and cucumber salad. I would recommend every single one, especially the goat cheese and cauliflower popcorn. The service was awesome; our server took back a drink my mom didn't like no questions asked. 10 Outta 10! So! This past Sunday, i turned 21, and my husband wanted to take me out to have my first drink at midnight. i looked around Yelp and Google for some reviews of the bars in the area and found Craft & Vine. It seemed like people really liked it, especially compared to other nearby bars. We stopped in 10 til midnight and were promply welcomed and told about the night's specials and happy hour drinks. i let them know i had to wait 10 minutes til i could order because i technically wasn't 21 yet. The bartender happily suggested a drink for me and said she'd have it to me when the clock stuck 12. While we waited, we order the pretzel bites (They weren't very salted, but that's a personal preference). Before midnight hit, we were greeted by the manager, he was very personable and kind, he even offered to take care of my first drink! Anyways, midnight hit and i could officially (legally) enjoy my first drink! It was super sour, but it was also very good. Throughout the night, we chatted with the manager, our two bartenders, and my new friend who also happened to be celebrating her birthday right next to us at the bar. i had one more drink that night, a stronger, less sour version of my first drink, and i also got to try a very purple liquor, which i will be requesting the next time we visit. When we finally asked for our check, we were both surprised to hear we didn't owe anything! The manager got my first drink, our first bartender got the pretzels, and our second bartender got my second drink and my husband's beer! The food we had was yummy. The drinks we had were yummy. The customer service was spot on! The atmosphere was upscale and relaxed. My night could not have started off better and i have everyone at Craft & Vine, staff and customers, to thank. i can't wait to go back! read more

The food was good, the drinks were ok and the atmosphere was pretty cool. We visited on a Saturday night and their was no wait. Our party of 4 was instantly sat at a booth. I was disappointed with the portions. We had to order almost every "snack", a few small plates and a pizza to feel satisfied. You're paying full portion prices and getting "small plate portions". I will probably return but definitely next time I'll try the cheese plates and just drinks. Our whole party spend $150 (not including tip) and the men still felt like they needed to stop for a burger on the way home. It's a cool spot for hanging and to try trendy bar food but don't go on an empty stomach because you'll be disappointed. read more

We were very excited to try the latest addition to Sean Wight's stable of restaurants in Augusta, Georgia. We were not disappointed. We arrived early and were led to one of the small center tables with backless stools, which proved to be uncomfortable. We quickly moved to the bar, with was much more comfortable and ordered drinks. The bar operation was interesting in that there are servers and and preparers. We were fascinated by one young woman, who stood in the same place for hours and did nothing but make drink after drink. And immaculate drinks they were: Sazeracs, Manhattans, the Hemingway, a take on the classic daquiri, and the Penicillin, made with ginger, honey, lemon and Scotch. All were excellent; however, the drinks were pricey $10+ which is a bit above the standard in this town On to the food. The pork rinds were melt in your mouth, but not a lot of them for $5. We next sampled the charcuterie board, with a delightful creamy French cheese, a cheese with a coating of espresso beans, and prosciutto, all in ample amounts, but with only four toasted slices of baguette, with abundant holes in them. Six would have been better: three items, six croutons. We had heard the raves about the Brussels sprouts, and we were not disappointed. How could something so bad tasting as a child become so yummy! Sliced thin with a perfect dressing, they were just dreamy. Accompanying this dish was the beef tongue hash which was a sleeper. Potatoes, tongue and onions were blended with just the right amount of garlic. Pretty awesome, especially with the perfectly poached egg on top. By this time, the place was hopping, with SRO and a thirsty Saturday night crowd. Our bartender, who was so helpful in the beginning, melted away under the serving load of walking Michelob Lights (shudder) to the standing patrons. We ended with a pizza, The Spicy One. It was, but that was about it, kind of like a hot sauce pizza. No depth of flavor. We took some home to have with a poached egg for Sunday breakfast. By this time we had to flag down our bartender to ask about dessert and coffee. The coffee service was presented on a metal tray and a French press. The coffee was just perfect in body, not weak by any imagination, but without the familiar char of Starbucks. For dessert, we ordered zeppole and the marinated oranges. The former were light and fluffy, with just the right amount of sugar and rosemary; perfect with the coffee. The marinated oranges were made in heaven. Marinated in a spicy, almost Christmas like red wine and covered with real whipped cream. The perfect ending to the evening. The tab was a bit steep. we spent about what we would at Frog Hollow, the white tablecloth restaurant down the street. The ambience was nice. Some haven't liked the loud music, but we didn't mind. We enjoyed our bartender; we wish he had been around a bit more. All the staff should be required to read Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises" to experience the right culture of the 1920s bar they are trying to create. Some tribute to Papa on the wall would add to the mileau. A field trip to The Iberian Pig in Decatur, Georgia would give the servers and bartenders some ideas. Not bad for their third week. Next time we will try different wines, or a bottle of Amarone and some different items like oysters, beets, and sweetbreads (lamb fries in Oklahoma). I can't wait to try them. Unfortunately, given the price point, it will be a bit longer wait than I would like. 4 1/2 stars if I could give it. read more

A few employees at Frog Hollow had mentioned the opening of Craft and Vine to us over our last few visits, mentioning the prohibition themes and a price point somewhere between Frog Hollow and their little brother restaurant Farmhaus. Our visit on opening weekend was an overall positive one with a couple caveats. The atmosphere is great, I love the theme and any well-designed new restaurant is a breath of fresh air in the otherwise predictable and pro-Applebees Augusta. The older couple that came with us said they were glad to be 'going-out' someplace 'new, young, and cool'. That being said the music was loud, ironic for a speakeasy and annoying at multiple times throughout dinner. The tables were small, but that's a matter of economics and not something I hold against C&V in the star rating, my suggestion would be to get rid of the large bottle of water - just have the waitresses fill water as required. Real estate is hard to come by on those tables, especially if you order more than one tapas at a time. Our table split the charcuterie, Brussels sprouts, duck confit pizza, duck wings, sweetbreads, and beef tongue. The food was great though not as memorable as Frog Hollow. Adventurous ingredients are always worth bonus points and I was going to try those dishes whether the table wanted to or not. Charcuterie is overrated, not specifically C&V version, but just as a dish in general so it's weird to see it featured as 1/3 of an entire menu. Push the adventurous dishes! The brussel sprouts were shredded, covered in parmesan, and a favorite for 4/4 at our table. The pizza was good but ... pizza? Why? You have sweetbreads, beef tongue, and also pizza? I don't know, it didn't fit the theme of the menu (at least the parts I loved). Duck wings, sweetbreads, beef tongue were all great - even to the pickiest eater at our table. We weren't blown away by the food but it was overall enjoyable. The value is another matter, though its taboo to talk about value at a hip/chic swanky restaurant. I thought this was supposed to be cheaper than FH? We spent about 75$ a couple, which comes to out to maybe 10-20$ cheaper than FH. Tapas don't lend themselves to value, but 10$ cocktails - even the most labor intensive, is a high price point for the normally affordable downtown Augusta. I gave four instead of five stars mainly for my nitpicking: loud music, weird choices on the menu, great food but no dish that I would say "YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS AT C&V", and a price point that is juuuuuust above what I'd feel comfortable spending at an Augusta establishment that isn't FH or Manuel's. I'd probably go 3.5 if that were an option on Yelp. Service was great, beginning to end. Our waitress spoke to softly for the music. That being said everyone should definitely give this place a try, it's new, it's fun, and maybe I should have just come between 10 PM and 1 AA for happy hour instead of a full dinner. read more

This place is excellent!! Ate with my wife and sister in law. We shared 3 cheeses and 2 meats plate, margarita pizza and cab sirloin. The best is the cab sirloin with the spicey bravas sauce. It is out of this world!! I would pay for jars of this sauce for when I grill out filets!! Our server was awesome and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Had an amazing time last night at Craft and Vine in good part because of our fantastic waiter CALVIN! He was very friendly and made great suggestions about the menu. Our party didn't all arrive at the same time so we ordered a little at a time which he accommodated without hesitation. While Calvin checked on us frequently, he didn't over do it. The deviled eggs are always a good bet, the charcuterie (prosciutto, Thomasville cheese, and Spanish cheese) was amazing with just the right complimenting spreads, a crispy pizza and hummus rounded out our tapas. This is a hidden gem in Augusta! I happened upon Craft & Vine while looking for another restaurant downtown. I'm really glad I did! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is upscale casual, and the service was exemplary. I sat at the bar as I was a single and didn't want to take up one of the tables. I was impressed with the creativity in the menu and the execution of the chef. I had the charcuterie plate to start, followed by the sweet and sour sweetbreads and the steak tartare. For me I felt the sweetbreads could have been cooked a little less but were not over cooked in the least. The steak tartare was some of the best I've had outside Paris. The wine list, while small, is unique and creative with some selections you rarely find. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a very nice meal in Augusta. read more

Umm yeah!! Craft & Vine nails it!!! Geat ambiance for dates or tapas with friends, excellent service, knowledgeable staff, delicious food, amazing wine selection, and very cool decor that makes one feel transported to the most trendy neighborhood in any big metropolitan city. The dishes are so creative and thoughtfully prepared and presented. My wife and I shared and loved all of the following: "Barely Buzzed" cheese platter, which was infused with espresso, lavender, butterscotch & caramel!!!!! Just writing that makes my mouth water! Then we shared the shaved brussel sprouts. Never thought I'd be recommending brussel sprouts! But you have to taste it to understand. They're blended with sweet preserved pear, toasted pecans, honey cream, and parmesan! We also split a wood fired pizza called, "The Spicy One". I love spicy, and let me just say, those whole Calabrian hot peppers are no joke. So beware! Truth in advertising! -- It's spicy! Pizza was nice and thin like we like it and sauce was definitely made with delicious San Marzano tomatoes - aka the real deal! Finally, we had the truffles for desert, on our server's recommendation. Don't remember the entire description, but the bottom line here is: EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! Negatives: Truly, none come to mind. And I thought hard to come up with something. The first was to get brutally drunk, and this place didn't dissapoint. Their selection and creations were incredible and potent. Not to mention that Nick, the handsome bearded devil, provided my experience of boozing with a story behind each drink and what made them, as well as samples of the fine liquors. Needless to say, it really made the experience amazing! Then, I went for dinner the next day. Between Ashley's perfect service and head-chef Preston's cooking, I figured I had died and become one with that food. Every plate was it's own creation of pure bliss and Ashley made it so I never had to ask for a thing. If you haven't gotten in the car yet, you're missing out. Craft and Vine was the single best thing to come out of my stay and I would go out of my way to go again. Amazing service and food. Calvin, the bartender, was most impressive thanks to his awe-inspiring demeanor and outstanding mixology skills. I have been here multiple times and every visit leaves me with anticipation for my next visit. He handles all situations well in a cool, calm demeanor and professional ease that keeps us coming back because we know we will be taken care of. This particular establishment recognizes its regulars and takes care of its people, keeping me (and others) coming back time and time again. Visiting Calvin is the only thing I look forward to after a hell of a week. His manager, Kevin, is also amazing, as are the rest of the staff, and provides adequate backup while his team does what they do best, which is provide excellent service. read more

Craft and Vine is by far the best place for food and drinks in Augusta. My husband and I head there for cocktails and dinner about once a week, and they never disappoint. They have an ever changing assortment of well-prepared tapas-style dishes, ranging from pork meatballs in a Marsala sauce to pizza to flank steak. But what we really love are the cocktails, each of them classics or instant classics, shaken or stirred by a skilled cadre of bartenders. Beyond the food and drinks, it's one of the few places in Augusta with an attentive, polite staff and an elegant atmosphere. So glad we found this place! read more

Our first visit to Augusta and my husband and I were looking for a restaurant that had a really good vibe, bistro or gastropub type feel with fresh, well prepared food. We did a little research and decided to try Craft and Vine. We chose well. The atmosphere is exactly what we were looking for with an upscale but casual vibe. There was a great jazz group playing, options to sit at the bar, at high top tables or in a comfortable booth or low table. We were seated right away and did not have to wait to be greeted by our server. This spot has an innovative drink list with more options upon request from talented mixologists. A very diverse (but not too extensive) wine list with easy to decipher descriptions which we really appreciated, as well as a great beer list. Our server greeted us with a smile and had great answers and recommendations to our questions. We went over the menu which has a selection of smaller plates and wood-fired pizzas as well as cheeses and charcuterie. We started with the warm soft pretzel bites with pimento fondue- I could have snacked on that all night- the smoked trout dip served with toast points which my husband loved and the Mediterranean deviled eggs. All of the dishes were delicious! Then we ordered the ratatouille which had amazing flavor and is served in more of a deconstructed set up, the mussels which were served in a beer, jalapeño broth which is a great spin on the traditional preparation, and the flash-fried oysters (very light and crisp) served with a remoulade sauce that had intense flavor. Lastly, my husband had to try the pizza- he had the meat lovers version and I think he ate every bite, it was so good. We went in wanting to try a lot of things but you could definitely order less and fill up on a great meal. The portions are smaller but not too small and the pizzas are about a 12" size. If I had to choose a favorite dish, it would be the ratatouille but we really loved it all! If you are in Augusta, Craft and Vine is a must!! The most overly pretentious (and possibly discriminatory?) restaurant in Augusta. I have always enjoyed this restaurant before and celebrated milestones here. I brought my out-of-town parents here. So when my niece came to town last Saturday, I thought this was the place to go. One thing that has always annoyed me is they don't take reservations so people who are making this a planned event run into people who just show up, which is what happened to us Saturday night. It was early, before 7 p.m., but there were already two parties waiting ahead of us. Despite space open at the bar, we were told it would be a few minutes and to wait in the front where we could order drinks. So we sat. A group was seated ahead of us. A waiter came by and tried to serve us their drinks. No, they are gone but if you have a minute..nope. Waiter left. Hostess seated another group. Another waiter came by and tried to serve us their drinks. Sorry, they left but while you're here...gone. A party of four sat down and a waiter immediately walked past us and took their drink order. My niece, a few minutes later, asked the hostesses if maybe we could get the same courtesy? A few minutes later, the hostess came back, and seated the party of four ahead of us My niece, who is not a loud person, said something to the effect of, "What the hell?" The hostess came back a few minutes later and admitted her mistake. Okay, thanks, but maybe could we order something? Ten minutes later, a waitress showed up and we ordered a bottle of wine (Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, which I enjoy and highly recommend) which we had barely opened before finally we were seated. I worked in restaurants from the time I was 16 until I graduated college (nearly 10 years) from dishwasher to busboy to waiter, bartender and host, so I understand what happens when you get "in the weeds" and tables are seated before you are ready, But this seemed more deliberate. We waited past other tables for our appetizer, which was a decent baked goat cheese with some kind of preserve and toast. I have always enjoyed their mushroom pizza, But this time, instead of an exotic blend of mushrooms, it was almost all button mushrooms, which you could buy in any grocery store anywhere. And it was soggy by the time we got it. My wife ordered the fish and chips, and the fries were soggy, as if they had sat for a while. Our waiter, whose name I can't recall but had a waxed mustache/beard combo, was quickest with the bill than anything else. I like this place. I do. I can forgive a mistake. I didn't think we were underdressed. I have never felt unwelcome here before, But this felt as I had the door slammed in my face. read more
