I think this sucks because i'm paying for service from the professional and not their assistants! I messaged Nancy on instagram and she was very prompt with her response and helped fix and achieve the hair color that I wanted. Nancy is really welcoming and super nice. I really don't like to write negative reviews but I feel the need to warn anyone else considering a…read morecut and color from Huong. I think she is really skilled but she doesn't really care to take in customer input and when you voice your opinion she is very dismissive and will blame you for not articulating yourself well. Initially she seemed really interested in my inspo pics and understanding what I wanted. I asked for a blunt cut in back with longer face framing layers in the front. I wanted a blended money piece and darker caramel without red tint highlights. She ended up cutting my face framing layers to the length of my baby hairs which was wayyyy shorter than I wanted. She just kind of went for it. I was really shocked usually they show where they will start cutting before they do that. She really seemed into her vision as opposed what is best for fine slightly wavy hair. When I explained this was too short she said I asked for it and she needed to blend my existing short pieces but with my fine frizzy hair this is so unflattering. She also told me she notices I like to put my hair behind my ears which I could still do so it was all fine. Every concern I had she minimized and wouldn't let me talk further. I had to let her keep going because already so many pieces in front were too short. She starts on bleaching my hair. In the middle of my appointment she starts consulting another woman's hair which I found so uncomfortable. This went on for 20 mins. Once she starts taking the foil out by the wash station I smell the bleach and it's so strong. The front pieces were straw blond and I have black hair. Sure enough all my highlights were basically dirty blonde and my money pieces were reddish blonde not blended in. It was awful I looked so terrible. I had asked for not too light/blonde but I guess that wasn't understood. I basically freaked out and asked her to take me back to dark brown. She seemed soo annoyed and kept telling me how I had confused her and she did everything according to my inspo. Even if this is true I thought there's is always a customer is right attitude in hair? It's common to realize a color is not completely flattering and adjust. My other colorists all do this but I recently moved so I went to Huong. Her attitude when I asked her to take my back to brunette was awful she seemed so irritated and mad and me and it made me so uncomfortable. To her credit she did spend a lot of time re-dyeing the hair. Once I was back to brunette she kept saying how this was not the inspo pic I showed and was lecturing me. I really don't get the point in making a stressed customer feel bad about themselves. She told me to not wash my hair for 3 days which I followed and when I did the dye came out in the shower which has never happened to me before. I've really never had a hair stylist make me feel so poorly about myself I had to go home and cry after. I spent $450 to just feel incredibly horrible about myself. I have this short choppy hair I don't know what to do with. It really would have been different if I felt she was kind and trying to understand me but this was not the case. I had about 5 appointments with a high end colorist in SF that never got it anywhere close to what I wanted! Everyone told me it wasn't possible but Deborah did it on the first appointment. I've been growing out my natural gray but I still have a lot of brown so I'm mostly trying to go for a cool toned bright blonde/white so it blends more with my roots as they grow out so I can go longer between appointments. I don't want my hair to look like a natural gray, I still want it to have a pop and feel current. Deborah was honest about what would work in our video consultation, as well as with pricing upfront. She also told me how to take care of it moving forward and what is need to do at home to maintain the cool tone.
