This review is for both Happy Hour and dining options. Crafthouse features a daily HH from Monday through Friday, 3:00pm-9:00pm at the Fairfax corner center location. Able to accommodate a larger crowd, Crafthouse features a spacious outdoor patio that has overhead heaters for cold days and ample ceiling fans for warmer days, making it comfortable to enjoy in all four seasons. There is also an outdoor area with a fire pit that lends ambience and warmth when the weather is cooler. Bottom line up front-- this is a place for people who love beer and fried foods. That said, it is also a place where those who do not love those things can also find some gluten-free, non-fried choices that make them happy while happily mixing with the former category. So something for all. Happy hour features discounts on draft beers, well cocktails, tavern shares, and some limited house wine. There are offers on (mostly fried) pub grub like mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, loaded tots and nachos as well. My husband likes the loaded tots and stout beer selection on tap ( he has no issue with gluten); I lean toward Hendricks G&Ts and mind the celiac with a Grilled Salmon Bowl. It isn't at deep HH discount, but hard to go wrong with succulent salmon filet served over served over either ginger soy white rice or romaine lettuce (it's good with both, depending on your carb intake that day) and topped off with fresh veggies like shredded carrots, broccoli, and cabbage served with sliced avocado. The deliciously flaky salmon, creaminess of the avocado, crunch of the veggies, piquant ginger rice and umami of the gluten free soy sauce (on the side) comes together to make a symphony of flavor explosion with every bite. Crafthouse has other daily dining specials worth checking out as well: They have a $5 burger deal on Mondays and specials on mules, a $7.50 Taco Tuesday (2 tacos of your choice), Whiskey specials on any bourbon, scotch or whiskey including fireball shots, Thirsty Thursday with deals on wines by the bottle, and fiesta Friday's which feature coronas, loaded nachos and house margaritas (original, strawberry, or raspberry) made with 1800 silver tequila. The atmosphere is trendy and fun with Christmas lights and a lighted brick wall in the back. The beer selection is enormous and it was fun to try something new! The menu is also very large with unique takes on burgers and flatbreads. I was in a party of 12 and the service was really great! They even brought over another table for us and it was a busy Saturday night. They had TVs with football on and some music as well. We asked where the app was after 20min, and the staff pointed at another table and said "they've been waiting 20 minutes for theirs". Thanks, but that's not helpful. Main meal arrived at 8:10. The Reuben had barely any meat in it. Staff only checked on us once. Drink refills were difficult to come by. And for all this "joy", the bill came to $63. Formerly World of Beer, but I think broken away from the chain for some reason, the Crafthouse is a pretty decent place to get a beer. Its a classic American bar. Lots of tables, open floorplan, a long bar. The waiters/waitresses are very good. Service is good. Beer selection is very very good and there is always something new to try. Specials are good, trivia night is fun. Its a good place to get some obscure beers before a movie, or a place for a group to hang out. There is a patio as well which will be nice when things heat up. I was so excited to see a Kristallweizen on tab, however they ran out halfway into poring my glass. I would have given them a four star rating but the service was much to be desired. I love the beer and food selection here. The California dreamin' veggie burger is amazing! My only gripe is I wish there were more waiters/waitresses on the floor. We came here a couple of times and it took about 10 mins for someone to approach us... On Sunday (4/29) we came in and no one came by for a while. A tall hefty dark blonde/brown hair waitress saw us but ignored us. 10 minutes later she came by and dropped off the menu and walked away. Didn't even greet us... rude. The other two petite female waitresses were nice. Turns out one of them was the manager - super nice! You guys need to approach tables more though. I think it's better that we be seated because every time we see customers coming in, they look confused lol. So I love this place. Happy Hour is like 3-9pm so it's insane. They have daily food specials as well. Mondays are $5 burgers, but you have to pay for toppings, which is dumb. The burgers are good though. Tuesday is 2 tacos for $6 and the tacos are AWESOME. I don't remember the other food specials, but the mac n cheese balls are great and the tots have a special place in our heart. The HH beer selection is either really good or sad and the selection rotates as does the beer on the regular menu. As far as service goes the servers are SO nice. The one negative is that if it even becomes slightly busy you will be there forever waiting on drinks/food/your check. This is me being nitpicky, but all of the grilled cheeses are made with haiwaiian bread and depending on the sandwich it leaves the worst taste in your mouth. As a craft beer bar, this place is very good. They have an excellent selection of craft beers on tap and in bottles. I had a great Stone's Vertical Epic and Firestone Velvet Merlin from the tap. Both were awesome. Their menu however, needs more work. The current offering is bar food. If they hire a decent chef with some creativity, they could probably make this place into a proper gastropub. The venue is pretty nice contemporary layout with a dozen large screen tv to show every sport available. There are outdoor tables and even one table with a brazier for cold days. The service is very good. If they could raise the food choices and quality, it would really be a hot spot for the neighborhood (and they have a lot of competition). The veggies could have had a little more crunch, but that is a personal pref. We split a balsamic glazed appetizer of brussel sprouts - y'all can't see it, but there is a red squiggly line under brussel - there it is again! That is how it is spelled - butthole spell checker! They were good, just could have been cooked a little more. My wife got a VERY mundane Cobb salad. Minimal ingredients - the McDonald's shaker salad from years back was better than this. The school cafeteria wasn't too far off either. Very bland and certainly not in line with the price. Son-in-law got some sort of veggie taco - meh. Veggie taco? It was meh before he even took a bite. Hot wings tasted like they had been breaded in crushed Lays BBQ potato chips. The grilled ones were much better. You may have to specify as they mostly deep fry. DON'T WANT DEEP FRY? YOU MUST SPECIFY! Burger deemed OK. Forgot what the one other sandwich was, but I don't recall any complaints or compliments. One trick pony for me. A lot of seating available indoor dining and patio seating along with an extensive selection of food and beer choices. We had two flatbreads both had melty cheese with good amount of toppings, thin crispy flatbread crust that were really tasty. Bot were good enough for 3-4 people to share. We also had the crispy tator totes that were smothered with cheese, sour cream, jalapeños and green onions. Seriously a carb overload but great for an appetizer with drinks. Also had the jalapeño burger i ordered it medium rare but was brought well done, it was a bummer. The burger had pepper jack cheese, bacon, and jalapeños but turned out to be to dry. The servers were great all friendly and suggested some great options and brought beer tasters for us to try before making our decision. They have a wide selection of beer and have something everyone. If your not quite a beer drinker they also have cocktails, mules, sangria's, etc to satisfy your cravings. I had my first mule "the grandberry mule" and it was ridiculously good, fruity and tart with a kick. We live in the area so i'm sure we'll be back to work our way through the menu. The three times i've been here so far did not disappoint. The steak tacos are amazing and 6 bucks on Tuesday. The shrimp tacos are also to die for, but the pork ones are gross and taste weird. I was here for a quick happy hour over the weekday... so World of Beer changed their name to Crafthouse! Same friendly staff and same menu! Just for fun, I ordered the same items as I did when they were WoB. They were pretty consistent with taste except for the drinks. We ordered the happy hour drink (fruity one) and couldn't taste any alcohol and it wasn't as sweet and refreshing as before. It tasted watered down. I think I'll just order my usual next time because although it was on HH menu, it wasn't THAT cheap. Chicken tacos were ok, I still managed to make a big mess! Can't go too wrong with breaded chicken I guess. They are ginormous for sure. Tots were consistent. Be aware, the jalapenos on them can and will be super spicy! Crafthouse has a great beer selection, nice atmosphere and attentive staff. The food here is not great though. I would rate this place a 3.5 (which is it's current overall rating). I generally don't come here for food, I come here for beers and atmosphere. I can always find interesting beers and I never have an issue getting excellent service. For food I have had the mac and cheese balls and the pickle chips and though both had too much breading and didn't hold up well. The pickle chips appear huge but when you bit into them you end up eating the small pickle chip and being stuck with a whole bunch of breading. I have also had the quesadilla and thought that was one of the better appetizers. This is what I will stick with next time. read more

3.5/5 November 2017. This is a tough review to write because I genuinely can't decide whether this place is a 3 or a 4 so I wimped out and said 3. can make a case for either 3 or 4 so here it goes. Here are the caveats. This place is loud, like really loud. This isn't unusual give the open metal ceiling that seems to be so trendy these days in construction but there are things you can do about that to make it better. The food menu somewhat limited. There were some creative options but if you're going to get that creative I would think you would have a wider menu. And finally I felt like it was a bit overpriced. This is understandable to a degree as they have a lease to pay in a somewhat upscale shopping center. I tend to be more aware of value than most so take that with a big grain of salt. Finally, it's a small point, but they didn't seem to have that many servers working and said seat yourself. This meant we sat for a bit before we could flag down a member of the wait staff. Once we did the service was fine and everything went smoothly so it's very possible this was just a glitch in our experience. If these caveats don't concern you then this is a solid 4 star establishment. The beer menu is wide but not huge when compared with other specialist restaurant/bars. The food was slightly uneven. We had the pretzel with beer cheese which was very good if slightly overpriced with the beer cheese included. I kind of feel like you would need that because it was great with the pretzel while the mustard normally provided was kind of ordinary. This is kind of a theme. I had the buffalo burger. It cooked properly and quite tasty. The accompanying fries were just OK. My wife's tater tots were the same. So there are great elements that are somewhat let down by the supporting elements. In conclusion if the above mentioned caveats don't bother you, I highly recommend this place. If they do it's probably still worth a try. Personally I'll probably be back but I might wait til spring since they have nice patio and it might be a little quieter out there. read more

Great place to watch the Sunday football games! Classic brew house with local beer choices. The pretzels are HUGE! There is a variety of food choices from bratwurst to burgers. Though if you're watching the game you can easily make a meal out of appetizers. The buffalo chicken dip comes in an edible bread bowl~ delicious soaked in dip, so you can tear it apart and devour the bowl too.
