It's a bar attached to the Whole Foods. It's not a good sports bar, but it's kind of fun to drop in when I'm shopping. Beer prices are relatively inexpensive. There isn't a real "bar" to sit at; just some tables. You can grab food from the store's salad and hot bar to have a quick meal. It can get crowded and there's usually people pushing shopping carts around. Really it's not the worst place to grab a beer. It's a fun way to wrap up a shopping trip. read more

While it was a bit awkward when we drove up and realized this place is inside a Whole Foods, I am glad we gave it a shot. We were looking for a place to get pizza and a beer while we watched a Sunday night football game. The good sized dining area was full of sports fans watching football on multiple screens. All the games were on. The draft beer section and our pizza were actually really good. We were very happy with our choice in beer and pizza. The crust was nice and chewy and very well made. We went to try their $0.39 cent Thursday wing nights. Your minimum order per flavor has to be 6 wings. We tried the four flavors that were offered (besides naked) and I liked the buffalo and barbeque the best. The General Tso's and Korean flavors were just okay to me. The deal was priced really well but it can also make you full fast since the wings are breaded. You are also not allowed to have any to go boxes for the wings due to the deal. Apparently I've been checking in inaccurately at Whole Foods whenever I was getting my salmon fix at the Sports Spot, but now I know better :) Located inside Whole Foods, Sports Spot is pretty busy most of the time. It offers various sports bar like foods: wings, hamburgers, sandwiches, nachos, tater tots, fries, chips and quite a wide selection of beers. It also has several TVs broadcasting sports. Even though there are daily specials on food, I always get the Blackened Salmon Sandwich which is absolutely delicious. They grill the salmon to perfection and pair it with some slightly spicy sauce that gives it just the right kick. The sandwich is very filling too. The advantage about its location is you're not limited just to their food. You can always grab something from the store and just hang out to watch the games. Sports Spot is a sports bar inside of a grocery store. There are a bunch of tables and they are all lined up so you are kind of sitting with other people. They have good beer here, a big selection of drafts and you don't have to tip so your bill doesn't get as big. You can order a bunch of different food items and on different days of the week there are different specials. Unfortunately the food is Whole Foods food, so it has an off taste to it based on whatever weird organic ingredients they use. Its a good deal in terms of getting bang for your buck but I just can't get over the taste. There is a reason bars and restaurants don't cook things the way they do. From a sports standpoint it is ok to watch games inside. But the key to this whole place is the patio outside. In the summer you can watch Nats games out there. The patio is the perfect place to enjoy your beer and food. It is one of the best patios in all of Fairfax. I love it so much. You can also bring food from the grocery store here. I like getting the wings from the BBQ stand and bringing it in. The patio and the beer bump this 3 star generic grocery store cafeteria with TVs into a 4 star place to drink beers on beautiful days. read more

Finally decided to try this place out. They open right at 11 so it's better to get there right when it opens, as they get very crowded especially on the weekend! We ordered: Tator Puffs - your standard tots, but very crispy, freshly made and delicious, would definitely get again! Brisket Burger - My husband ordered this behemoth of a burger! Very juicy, a good amount of brisket in the burger! Definitely a good pick! Veggie burger - I enjoyed this burger a lot. Veggie burgers are usually a hit or miss for me, and this was a sure hit! The patty was very very juicy, delicious and packed. The texture was also very unique. Will definitely get again and make sure you get it with cheddar cheese :) Nachos - huge serving, might be good to share with 4 people, nothing special but delicious and a big heaping blob of fresh guac! yum! This "sports bar" inside Whole Foods can get crazy crowded, especially during game season - now I'm taking about football season! My hubby and I have been grabbing food here as a healthier way to enjoy our favorite bar foods. He loves their vege burger and I have to say, it tastes like a beef patty. It's also plant and not soy based which I like. I've also tried their onion straws and tasty tater puffs. And I love their coney dog and fries for only $5! The dog is topped with warm chili, cheese, and red onions. The dog comes on a buttery and soft bun. Thursdays is 39 cent wing nights and it can get super busy! But the wings are worth the wait since it's quality meat. Some of my favorite wing flavors are buffalo and general tso's (which I completely did not expect!). They sell game day classics such as wings, nachos, burgers, fries, BBQ ribs, pizza, and everything in between. What I love most about this sports bar is their ingredients all come from the Whole Foods store. You like something? Sure you can purchase it while you grocery shop afterwards. Loved this sports bar within the Whole Foods. It's clean, lots of parking and filled with TVs tuned to local, national and international sports. The food is good and they have a great selection of beers. What I particularily enjoy is that I'm not limited to the food selections within the restaurant. I dashed out into the Whole Foods, grabbed some guac, chips, salsa, cheese and viola -- instant and delicious apps on the run. This Whole Foods is amazing and they have a huge mix of foods available including a hot food bar, salad bar, seafood bar, cheese bar, sushi bar, meat bar [think briskey], full bakery and I'm sure I'm even missing a couple. It is an economical alternative to a full restaurant type sports bar with no sacrifice on quality. There is also an outdoor patios with TVs that are available to enjoy when the weather is nice. Granted, I've already written an extensive review on my love for Whole Foods, which includes a shout-out to Sports Spot and its wings. But after a recent takeout order here, I thought it merited its own review. The food here is really, really good. On a recent cold and wet Saturday night, we picked up BBQ wings, onion strings (that's right, not "rings") and fries. The wings were dry rubbed and amazing! No messy BBQ sauce covering your mouth, chin and fingers. Clean, slightly crispy exterior and tender, meaty interior. The onion strings don't look like much at first glance but those skinny things are packed with flavor too. And not to mention, you avoid that thing that happens when you bite into an onion ring and the coating and onion separate, leaving you with a thick, soggy onion. I hate that. And the fries. Oh those fries. They're perfection. It's a little annoying that a place known for healthy, organic foods is also good at making fried, non-healthy foods. But they do. They do it very well. It's gone downhill rapidly over the past year plus. Higher prices, smaller portions, and a worse menu. They've apparently just started charging for condiments as well. Ordered chicken strips and was told I'd have to pay for barbeque sauce. The burgers are worse too now. And they only come with American cheese. Can no longer order a half dozen wings either. This is a little hidden gem inside of the Fairfax Whole Foods. A hole selection of changing craft brews are available for a great price. No table side service, instead you just go to the counter to order both food and brews. The menu is pretty limited to burgers, nachos, wings, and hot dogs but this is really all you need. This place is nothing special and the offerings are mediocre and expensive. I can get better food at the nearby restaurants like Silver Diner, Red Robin, and TGI Fridays, which all serve similar cuisine. The photos you see of the interior are all misleading, as it is most definitely no longer a "Sports Bar" and most of the TVs have been removed to discourage any sort of gathering for watching sports. In fact, if you were to go in there, you'd simply think it was anything but a "Sports Bar", despite the name, as the sports stuff is also gone from the interior dressings. Basically, you can go to the counter and order a burger, chicken tenders, or other such things and sit down and eat it there, while one of the few remaining TVs shows whatever sports channel it's set on. It's my understanding that WF no longer wants to operate it as a "Sports Bar" or full restaurant and likely made that decision after the restaurant closures in 2019/2020, but they clearly can't shut it down without leaving a gap in their prepared food offerings. read more

This is the sports bar inside the Whole Foods. There is a large array of TVs surrounding the area on all four sides. The area is very active during football and basketball seasons. During the summer there is an active outdoor area. They serve pub-style food. They have a good selection of sandwiches including burgers and vegi-burgers. Their french fries are the thin style and made fresh. On recent visits I had a spicy grilled chicken sandwich and a quesadilla with barbequed pulled pork. The nachos are delicious and available in different sizes to accommodate different sized groups. Recently they have added to their beer taps and now have a selection of about 20 craft beers. They also offer a selection of wines by the glass. You place your order at one end of the bar and get one of the electronic devices that will alert you to pick up your food when it is ready. They provide the drinks at the time the order is placed. There is an express line for beer. There is large areas for seating that consists of long community tables. They offer craft beers at Rick bottom prices and one of the best burgers in the area!! I was pleasantly surprised by them and will definitely be back. The main server provides great guidance in a motivated manner. Hitting your request in the spot with their different craft beer selections (over 9). Sorry never captured his name. This sports bar has made my temporary relocation to Northern Virginia bearable. Great beer in constant rotation and even better prices ($4.77) for a 16 ounce cup. From what I can tell, the food looks pretty good. (They have specials during the week and it's generally packed after 6pm). I come here on weekend evenings mainly to relax, drink beer, and watch sports. They have a patio where they sell barbecued food and oysters on Fridays during summer. (It gets packed quick during the late afternoon and evening). And of course, the sports bar it's located within Whole Foods; perhaps the best location that I've ever visited. They have a whole lot of cool things happening within the store besides being a supermarket. The seating set-up inside of the sports bar consists of long tables; so, if you're not comfortable sitting next to and across from strangers it may feel odd. The only real negative (for me) is the constant smoke from the pizza ovens. The employees are great, especially the guy pictured by another reviewer. And yes, from what I've observed and stated by another review, when the place is packed, a 20 minute wait for food is the norm. And for my fellow New Yorkers, the pizza here is below average. It looks good, but that's about it. It's amazing how difficult it is for some regions to cook decent pizza. read more

If you are going only for beer and pizza, then this is a perfect. in fact, were I just rating the servers i would give the group 10 stars. However, the food is horrible. I have ordered a burger on four occasions. Each time it has been severely over cooked. Each time I have asked for it to be cooked less. I also tried the salmon sandwich - not so good. The wings... Came here on the tail end of lunch time and decided to have the veggie burger and fries. Ordering was quick and easy, nice lady taking the order and as it wasn't busy we didn't wait long. The patty and the bread was burnt. I like when it has a little bit of char on it but we're taking completely black burnt... Not really appetizing. I'm surprised at all the glowing reviews, my experience wasn't good here. I came in with my husband and two young children to try it out. Pros: the eating area is filled with many tvs with various sports events on, the sound is not overbearing. They had enough items on the menu for kids. Cons: the food is expensive and not much better than a hot dog stand. The $8 guacamole was the processed, fake stuff, chips were the cheap, thick salty yellow corn bagged kind, macaroni and cheese was gloppy creamed pasta with some shredded cheddar put on top last minute. My husband's sandwich (forget what it was) had that ballpark fake cheese sauce poured all over it. I think if you just want a sports bar, it's ok. Had dinner with friends at the sports spot last night. The place was crowded but we managed to get a place to sit. The food was great, everything is fresh and the prices are right for what you get. Very large portions so come hungry. Those in our group that ordered Burgers had to wait a while about 15 minutes but they were made fresh so it is what it is. I had an Italian sub with french fries. And my 100th review goes to Whole Foods, more specifically the Sports Spot. It is with great honor that I do this because well...Whole Foods + great food. I usually go on Thursdays for 39 cent wing night, which includes multiple flavors: BBQ, honey mustard, buffalo, and general tso. My favorite is the buffalo, the BBQ sauce tastes a little too tangy for me, the general tso is my next fave, the BFF usually eats all of these, and I have yet to try the honey mustard flavor. We order 20 wings (judge not) and a side of fries, making our total $10. The side of fries is only $3 and it's a HUGE portion. I've tasted the shrimp and they were overly spiced for me, salty. I'm not sensitive to seasoning, but someone was a little heavy handed on the Old Bay. I've also sampled the onion rings, they are cut thinly and have a great little sweet taste, you also receive a large portion of these as well. My dad ordered ribs and he said they weren't the best, the BF agreed, they said it tasted like they weren't grilled and maybe had been reheated. They have Mon-Thursday specials, which I need to try because obviously I've mainly had the wings. I appreciate this restaurant because 1) the food is good 2) value and 3) you don't have to tip. It's always busy in here, especially on wing night. I would like to try their burger specials next and those GLORIOUS looking nachos with a heap (yes, heap) of guacamole on top. Let me also add, the guy (I believe someone in another review said his name is Adam) is so friendly. He was patient with my parents who were first time guests and even comped the onion rings for my greedy dad who wanted to try everything and thought it was an equal sub to switch our coleslaw for onion rings.
