This was my first time sitting down and eating at this location. We normally just order our food to go. The parking is not good and you will get towed so please read parking signs. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated shortly after. Our waitress was really nice and prompt. We had a party of four and we all got boil bags. I got the one with Dungeness crabs it was $47.99 really good deal. I also ordered a strawberry Hennessy it was ok it tastes pretty tart. Overall service good the staff was knowledgeable , greeted us and said goodbye have a safe night. Overall food was really good and we had a good time we will be back again.

I went to Crafty Crab for lunch on a Friday, no need for a reservation and I was seated pretty much instantly- but then asked to move to a different table after 2-3 mins. That didn't bother me so much, as I hadn't ordered yet - but I was never given a reason for the move & I guess it just felt a little strange. Fast forward to the food -- almost all of my mussels were not covered in the sauce. And for a seafood boil spot - one would hope that it would arrive on your table ready to be eaten and not to have to be shaken up a good bit before eating. The drink that I got, 'The Crafty Bucket' was good. Not watered down but as you would want it. The bibs came with gloves but not with wet wipes; which is weird to me! The service was also really slow and my server was very preoccupied with other tables and things the Manager was asking her to do. I wanted to love it here, as it's close to where I live - but it was just okay.

I used to be a Hot n Juicy girl but I'm converted!!! For the price point- you definitely get more bang for your buck here!! I'm a crab legs girlie and the price per/lb was cheaper than the place I normally go to. The flavor was PHENOMENAL! The service was prompt and courteous. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I went on a Saturday and the fact that there was a security officer in the entryway was....concerning, but if you get a table in the little side area it's quieter and honestly I was chowing down on the tasty food and didn't even care after a while.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back!!!!

    Fried Shrimp Basket

I got the shrimp basket and found the shrimp to be plentyful and hot, but lacking in taste with no seasoning on them; the coleslaw slaw was extremely bland with the cabbage pieces being much too long. They really need to put some seasoning in the shrimp batter. Our waitress-Tiffany- was very patience and professional with our large group during lunch time.

5 stars! The server at Crafty Crab was amazing! Super friendly, attentive, and made our dining experience top-notch. And the food? Wow! The seafood was fresh and flavorful, loved it! Great job!

    Drink menu

Service is always decent. Food quality and serving size is consistent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have LOTS of signs posted everywhere, that I find weird.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But that's my personal experience. Otherwise, it's a great place to get seafood boil. Make sure you grab a crafty bucket when you're here!

Service can be a little hit or miss but we have never had any major issues and most of the time it is attentive. We always get multiple sea boils and an assortment of the fried foods for our family of 6 and the portions are plentiful. For the boils we order the hot special Cajun which really is not spicy at all but the flavor is good. The shrimp are good size and the crab is cooked well. The fried food has always been hot and fresh. Personally, I do not love the cocktails as they are on the sweeter side so I usually have a beer or soda. The prices are great for the amount of food you get, probably the best in the area.

Usually I don't do reviews so late after but I just remembered our horrible experience. The seafood boil sauce was tasteless and oily, everything else extremely greasy or cheesy (I actually did like the fries though). The service was beyond terrible-- and I remember this from the first time we came last year or so too. We tried to flag down our server on multiple occasions for stuff and they were nowhere to be found. After we paid our bill, they gave us 1 container and no bag... We were looking for someone to help us for like 10 minutes and there was no one anywhere to be found we finally were looking around the host stand (no one there either) and there was a couple waiting for the rest of their food. They saw how distraught we were about getting a bag to line the outside of our saucy seafood boil bag and they just gave us theirs, thank their kind souls. Will not come back unless this is the only place open for business for some reason. The food isn't inedible, the service is just horrendous; no one wants to work here.

The way everything came together in that sandwich worked really well. The plantains were just okay but the mashed potatoes were SO good and creamy. Day two of four in sweltering heat (98+), I snagged a last-minute reservation at one of my favorite spots with two of my favorite people: my partner and my niece. The restaurant has a huge patio, and they were even adding extra tables outside the enclosed patio to accommodate the weekend crowd. Inside, there's a bar with a few two-top tables, while the main dining room is a bit smaller and can feel cramped when it's busy. Downstairs you'll find additional seating, the restrooms, and even a few pinball machines. The drink menu is impressive, with a wide selection of cocktails, plenty of draft and bottled beers, plus pitchers and beer buckets if you're with a group. If you're coming for the blue crabs, plan ahead--they take about 45 minutes to cook. We ordered a dozen oysters while we waited for our dozen XL crabs, and it was the perfect appetizer. I loved that you can mix and match oysters by the half dozen to try different varieties with varying sizes and salinity. They were incredibly fresh and flavorful, needing nothing more than a squeeze of lemon or a little cocktail sauce. Between the dozen oysters and the dozen XL crabs, it was more than enough food for two people. Service was fantastic despite how busy they were. Yesica checked on us throughout the meal and even stopped by because she thought our oysters hadn't arrived--we had already devoured them! The rest of the staff was equally impressive, constantly clearing and resetting tables to keep everything moving smoothly. Just be aware that Quarterdeck automatically adds a 20% gratuity to the bill. Overall, this was an outstanding experience. Great seafood, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu--and, of course, order more crabs.

About three weeks ago, I left a 5-star review for Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar because, until…read morerecently, it had become one of my family's go-to seafood spots due to its convenience and generally good food. Before that, our preferred restaurant had always been Crazy Crab, where we consistently had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, after today, I will not be returning to Hook & Reel. I brought family members who had just driven in from Massachusetts and planned to treat them to dinner. There were four of us dining, and while three planned to order the All-You-Can-Eat option, one person preferred ordering directly from the regular menu. After we had already ordered drinks, we were informed by the manager, Vivian, that either everyone at the table had to order All-You-Can-Eat, or everyone had to order from the regular menu. There was no flexibility, no customer consideration, and no appreciation shown for the fact that we are repeat customers who have spent a significant amount of money there over time. In fact, several friends and members of our church began dining there based on our recommendation. What was most disappointing was not simply the policy itself, but the way the situation was handled. We were made to feel as though the restaurant viewed us as people trying to "game the system" over a few shrimp or crab legs, rather than loyal customers bringing business and referrals into the establishment. To make matters worse, this was communicated only after our drink orders had already been placed. Rather than create a scene, we simply paid for our drinks and left. We immediately went to Crazy Crab, where the experience could not have been more different. Staff members remembered us even though it had been months since our last visit. We were welcomed warmly, treated with dignity and respect, and received exceptional service from beginning to end. We gladly spent over $230 there instead. As a retired Army veteran, retired federal executive, business owner, and someone who frequently hosts family, friends, church members, and professional guests at restaurants, customer experience matters greatly to me. One poor interaction can cost a business far more than a single table. It can impact repeat business, referrals, community reputation, and future opportunities. From a business perspective, this experience should concern ownership. In today's economy, restaurants do not simply compete on food -- they compete on customer experience, relationships, and reputation. One inflexible interaction from management did not just lose a single dinner sale; it likely lost repeat visits, family gatherings, business meals, church referrals, and positive word-of-mouth within the local community. Strong businesses empower managers to protect both policy and customer relationships. Unfortunately, in this situation, customer loyalty and hospitality were sacrificed over what appeared to be concern about one person potentially sharing food. That decision ultimately cost the restaurant far more than it protected. If you want to dine somewhere where hospitality, consistency, and customer appreciation still matter, I would strongly recommend Crazy Crab. I truly hope Hook & Reel reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future, because no loyal customer should leave feeling disrespected after choosing to spend their hard-earned money at your establishment.

There was no wait time, we were instantly seated at a small both for two. And yes the seats are comfortable. I would have loved to be seated next the the staircase because it has some nice sight lines. The restaurant is so clean and nicely decorated as if you stepped into a homey yet lux cabin restaurant. It just feels....comforting. There were a lot of people dining here but the noise level was surprisingly minimal. The service is impeccable. Every waiter was attentive. Someone even asked us if we wanted another drink when our glasses were full. Never in my life has that happen to me. Lol The server was very knowledgeable about everything and left me to decided between all the wonderful options they offer. And they have OPTIONS. I heard the steak is banging. I'll be back... Now let's talk about these Ozzie dinner rolls. Bomb! End of story. And in my Nike voice....Just do it. In other words stuff your face and get some to go. I got blessed with 2 baskests and a bag to go. Won't he do it. My son enjoyed his little Mac aka his burger and fries but was too full to finish the fries because he stuff his face with Ozzie dinner rolls. So be careful yall. You have been warned. I orderer the pecan trout which was a very interesting take on baked fish and yet it was still good. I'm not raving about it. But it was good. Nice thing is they give you to pieces of trout 1 for now and 1 for later because yes I stuffed my face with those darn Ozzie rolls. Smh I had my eyes set on that deep dish apple pie and I shall return to try it and other menu items..like that banging steak. My leftovers hit the spot. I had enough for a whole lunch the next day. Saved me extra resources. Everything tasted even better the next day. Like the seasoning settled in and exploded into deliciousness. Peoples I say this with love...Don't come here because I don't want yall taking up all the free parking spaces available. Lol this is my new go to spot.
