Food was amazing !! Troy took our order, was so kind and SO helpful. We had the shrimp and catfish poboy, big cat tacos, and the crab cakes !! Flavored alll the way up!! SO GOOD!! Clean and very great atmosphere!

Delicious! For fast food prices, you get really good food. Both the shrimp and fries were on point. I'm guessing a combo of fresh oil and good attention to the time in it. But I'm an eater, not a cook. Service: I walked in and was greeted at the door. As I was looking at the menu, a man at a table asked what I wanted, said he was cooking, and that it'd be great. It made me feel really at home and welcome. The cook brought our food out to the table and forks too. And it was great! We split the skrimp dinner - 20 piece. It was enough for two people who weren't super hungry. Super chill vibe inside. Everything is clean and fresh. Feels like a neighborhood spot, not a business. I highly recommend it!

If you haven't eaten at The Skrimp Shack what are you waiting for!?!? This was my second visit and this time I got the spicy fried catfish and shrimp with collards. Man those guys know what they are doing! The spicy fried catfish and shrimp were delicious. Just spicy enough so you can taste the kick but not spicy enough to tor h your youngest or cause you to sweat. Get on over to The Skrimp Shack and get you some delicious fried fish and shrimp. You'll thank me later I guarantee.

Went there today for lunch because I had a taste for some shrimp ! Searched Yelp for one nearby and found this place. So I drove there and it's in the back of the mall. All the way in the back of Hybla Valley. Got there ordered a shrimp po boy and a whiting sandwich. Didn't wait long either to get my order. Oh and some hush puppies. Got home started of with the shrimp and it didn't disappoint. It was full of shrimp . And I got it spicy which added a little zing. Didn't come with lettuce or tomato though. And the whiting was overflowing with fish. Huge sandwich with about 6 to 8 pieces. I will go again. I'm total I paid $22 for the order probably will go again!

YIKES! Not sure what happened to this particular Skrimp Shack location, but it has drastically gone downhill in terms of the quality, taste, and the accuracy of their food offerings. Route 1 is pretty limited in tasty food options, and I remembered having a pleasant experience at Skrimp Shack a while ago; decided to come here for lunch. I ordered the Skrimp Po Boy, the 2 fish and the 2 Skrimp tacos; they didn't have the 2 out of the 3 options of how you'd like your protein to be prepared (the Buffalo Sauce and the Mango/Peach/Jalapeno Salsa), and only was offering the Po Boy Sauce version. I asked for the Spicy version of this sauce, but was given the mild version; the lettuce that was served was wilted and starting to brown; the cheese wasn't freshly grated. The sauce was also overly sickly sweet, and it just ruined both of the proteins for me. The shrimp also seemed to be smaller in size and not the typical freshly-battered and crispy morsels that Skrimp Shack is usually known for; the fish had a fishy taste to it, and it was just super bland with no seasoning. Service seemed to be a hot mess in there, even with only 2 parties waiting for the food; there's also a huge stinginess in terms of obtaining condiments with your meal, which leaves such a bad taste in your mouth. Sorry, but this location is a total bust. +avoid due to the quality, taste, and inaccuracy of orders +stingy with the sauces

This nasty macaroni and cheese that my daughter kept eating.

Did we all eat at the same place? These reviews are generous. Yikes! Is all that I can say about the meal that I experienced last night. My husband spent $60 on fried shrimp, fried fish, a shrimp po boy, okra, Mac n cheese, and banana pudding. He was super excited to try it because we'd been seeing this spot for some time when shopping in Hybla Valley. The fried shrimp with fries was good but presentation was way off, it looked like someone just threw everything in a box with a cocktail sauce packet. The fried fish with fries was equally disheveled in the container but lacked taste. I stopped eating it after one bite, not even tartar sauce could save the taste. The shrimp po boy was not on French bread, and if not is it even really a boy boy? Anyway beside that the shrimp was fine, but the sauce on it was super sweet, and overpowered the sandwich. The okra and banana pudding were okay I guess. Nothing to write home about. Now the main reason for my review was to discuss the macaroni and cheese! Who messes up mac?! The noodles tasted like they sat in water too long and were wayyy over cooked, and the cheese sauce or lack there of tasted like old flour. I am assuming that y'all did a bechamel sauce and added the pasta? Season the sauce first and taste it if you're going to make it that way!! My husband took a bite and then let me taste it, I should've known better after he didn't go back for a second taste. My daughter seemed to like it though. She doesn't count though because she likes all pasta, even the most bland tasting! Macaroni and cheese is a soul food staple, if y'all can't do it right please take it off your sides menu. Overall, I'm mad that $60 was spent on this mess. I give it 2 stars for the decent fried shrimp, okra, and banana pudding. I could've gone to the store and done better at home. Don't waste your money here.

I picked up my order and ate it a little later, but the sweet potato waffle fries were also not satisfying as they were really limp and soft. My wife and I arrived around 1:20 p.m. on a Thursday. The lunch crowd was still going strong, which only reinforced that we had picked a popular spot. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. When we walked in, there was no hostess to be found. After waiting about four minutes, she finally appeared and offered us a choice between a small table in the corner or one by the bar. Given how busy the restaurant was, we took the table by the bar. About seven minutes later, someone finally came by to offer us water and explained that our server was busy, but she would help us in the meantime. No problem. We ordered the Avo Goddess Salad and asked that it be split so we could share it. A few minutes later, our server arrived, introduced herself, and we let her know we had already ordered the salad and were ready to place our lunch orders. She was very helpful in guiding my wife toward the Old Bay Shrimp Burger. I was excited to order the Shrimp and Grits until I learned it contained Andouille sausage and, according to our server, couldn't be prepared without it. Since the restaurant highlights that everything is made from scratch, that surprised me. I ended up ordering the Ahi Tuna Salad instead. So far, so good. Then came the frustration. We spent the next 20 minutes slowly picking at our salad, growing increasingly hungry and confused. You know something is wrong when guests who were seated after you begin receiving their meals before you. Finally, at 2:10 p.m., our food arrived: my Ahi Tuna Salad and a Pulled Lamb Sandwich for my wife. Except my wife had ordered the Shrimp Burger. When we pointed out the mistake to what was now our third server, she quickly assured us it would be corrected. A few minutes later, our original server returned and took full responsibility. She explained that the lamb and shrimp items are next to each other in the POS system and she accidentally selected the wrong item. She assured us the Shrimp Burger would be out in two minutes and suggested we enjoy the fries that came with the lamb sandwich while we waited. Unfortunately, another ten minutes passed before the burger finally arrived. Here's where things became truly disappointing: the top bun was still cold--almost frozen. My wife ended up removing it entirely and eating the sandwich with just the bottom bun. At best, the Shrimp Burger was decent, but certainly not worth the wait and frustration. As for my Ahi Tuna Salad, it felt like something I could easily make at home, especially considering the $25 price tag. I'm also not entirely convinced the tuna was particularly fresh. I can't bring myself to give Matt and Tony's one star because the atmosphere is genuinely cool and inviting. So I settled on two stars--mostly for how I felt before the experience unraveled. And listen, I get it. Mistakes happen. We're all human. But as someone who eats out frequently, here's one piece of advice: when a restaurant makes a significant mistake with a customer's order, consider taking that item off the bill. Sometimes that gesture is the only reason a guest decides to come back.

My cousin was running errands in the area, so we made a reservation for a weekday afternoon. It was very easy to reserve online the day before. We were seated upstairs to the right in a very sunny room with skylights, wooden rafters, and a thin carpet. Unfortunately, the carpet isn't thick enough to muffle sound, so it was very noisy. Our server, Nadir, seemed distracted, using his phone in a corner of the dining room, and wasn't too attentive. Another female server helped him manage his tables and took my drink order. My cousin ordered the veggie quiche and I opted for the French dip. Nadir asked if I wanted cheese and I assumed it came with cheese, so I said sure. When he then listed four different cheeses, I chose Swiss. When it arrived, it was clearly not Swiss. When I pointed it out to Nadir, who was nowhere to be found until we were ready for our bill, he said, "At least it is all natural cheddar!" Hmm... Then I saw that it was $4 for cheese. Our lunch total was $60 (no alcohol). My cousin said she will not be returning due to the low quality of food and service. I'll likely give it another try, but my expectations will be much lower next time, and I'll probably just order takeout instead.

Makes sense, a little more room out there anyway. We haven't been on this side of the place since it was a Sugar Shack so it was nice to see the new concept. The seats are mostly at the bar was maybe 3-4 tables around the rest of the restaurant. We got a small taster when we sat down which was really good but I do not remember what it was. The zero proof menu we were there consisted of a Blueberry, Fauxgroni, and a Honey cocktail. We got the Blueberry and Fauxgroni to start. Both were made in front of us and had very cool looking details, especially the Fauxgroni's ice cube. The Blueberry was delicious and the honey foam on top was great with it. We figured since we were there we should also grab dinner which was fully available too. Not a huge menu but had snacks and sandos with a Japanese influence. We started with the Oysters Trio and Tater Tots. The oysters came in these ceramic oysters which was pretty cool and they had an amazing flavor to them. Little sweet, little sour. The tater tots were also great because they're tater tots but the sauce really changed the flavors for us. We also got two sandos, the Hot Maple and the Miso Honey. The sandwich's were a good size. So much flavor packed in each bite. The Hot Maple had a ton of bacon jam and combined with the red onion it was a salty, sweet, sour, crunchy rich sandwich. The runny egg on top was a nice touch. The Miso Honey had a strong truffle flavor but the honey sweetness came through nicely. Also very crunchy. Lastly we got two more drinks off their regular menu, the Coffee Bean and the Hibiscus. The flavors in the Coffee Bean worked so well together. I would say it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. The Hibiscus was pretty solid too but I only had a few sips. To end, as a part of our experience, we got these complimentary yuzu lime donuts. I guess as a call back to Sugar Shack maybe? They weren't bad, a little crispy but the flavor wasn't strong. Definitely a cool experience. I might not pay $20 for the zero proof experience itself but I would come back for their food and cocktails because I would say it was all on point.

We had a great lunch at Havana 151 - The Loft at Lena's in Del Ray…read more Just so there's no confusion, The Loft at Lena's is upstairs (and you need to take the elevator to get there) and Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza is on the first floor. The Yates family owns both restaurants (they also own Table Talk over on Duke St.) We were wowed by The Loft's interior design. So nice and inviting. Just to get it out of the way, there is an idiosyncrasy in Havana 151's bar service. Even though there's a full bar, when we came for lunch shortly before noon, our server mentioned that the bartender doesn't come in until 4pm, so they can't provide cocktails earlier in the day. But that was okay since we weren't drinking anyway. We started with the yucca fries as an appetizer. They were flavorful and had a great texture. For better or for worse, the dipping sauce was kind of a cilantro pesto. JP ordered the Ropa Vieja (literal translation: red clothes). This dish came with shredded beef stewed with tomato, red and green pepper and onion. It also came with rice and toasted plantains. JP thought this dish was excellent. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich, which was pork, ham, cheese, Dijon mustard and pickles on Ciabatta bread. I did pick the pickles off (like I would with a hamburger), and ate them later. Accompanying the sandwich were some really delicious fries. I should note that I took half of the sandwich home, and when I heated it up and ate it the next day, the garlic from the pork had amplified and kinda overwhelmed the sandwich, Service was great from our talkative waitress. Our orders came out in good time and were correctly prepared. We'll be back.

Had a really cool experience tonight at lena's. I've been coming here since it opened…read more Tonight I came in from a flight and got here a little after 9:00 and they were completely tearing the place apart to do an amazing cleaning. I had a burger and they worked around me no problem. They took every single thing off the shelves behind the bar cleaned everything disassembled everything from behind the pizza bar it's amazing to see that they do this a couple times a year I have not seen this in other restaurants even though I've worked in them for many years. Pretty impressive and shows that they really care I highly recommend Lena's it never disappoints
